12:00 A.M

“Night Watch, you’re back!” Chica said, clasping him a big hug. Her metal frame gave him a painful thud. After the colossal hit, Chica grabbed him by the hand. “Here, follow me!”

Dazed and stunned, Night Watch was dragged through the restaurant. Finally, Night Watch was at the stage, where Bonnie and Freddie were. “Hey security guy,” Freddie said tiredly. Bonnie just gave a quick nod.

Night Watch simply gave a limp sigh and waved weakly. “I’ve been up all day, so I really can’t do, uh, guardin’ stuff.”

“But we don’t have a garden,” Chica said, “Ooh, I’ve never actually seen one now that I think about it! How does it look like?” Bonnie’s ears perked at the mention of the word ‘garden’.

“And you’re also going to work all day when the night ends, right?” Freddie asked, sitting on the edge of the stage.

“Please don’t remind me,” Night Watch groaned.

“Coffee,” Chica said out of the blue.

“Yes. Coffee,” Night Watch said, stumbling up on his hooves. His hands gripped tightly on his tools and trudged towards the kitchen. “I really need coffee.”

Chica scratched her head. “Coffee?” she asked herself, “The hot light brown liquid that father drinks?”

The three followed Night Watch, who made his way into the kitchen. The stallion opened the doors and his eyes darted around the place. The silver aluminum’s ovens and stoves sat smack dab in the middle whilst the drinks were tucked on the other side of the room. A soda dispenser and a coffee maker hummed.

Night Watch gave a gasp of relief, feeling the hot coffee pour into a large styrofoam cup. The sweet nectar of the gods was being flushed out like a raging river. He gave one more pump of coffee for good measure before he took a sip. He felt the boiling heat shake his digestive tract.

“Ah, that hits the spot,” he said, sitting down on the kitchen floor. He looked fully content to be comforted by the ole’ cup of joe. “What spot is that?” Freddie asked, staring at the black pool that sat in his cup.

“That was just a figure of speech-ish,” Night Watch replied, “Coffee contains caffeine and I’m someone that needs caffeine.”

“Can I try this coffee?” Chica asked, sliding down next to Night Watch.

He looked over. Close up, her eyes gave a blue metallic gleam. It was a beautiful reflection like a pool of water. She opened her mouth and made a sipping motion, duplicating Night Watch. “Like this?” she asked, her wet tongue figeting back and forth. It amazed him of how the robots looked so real. Were they called robots?

Chica grabbed the coffee cup and felt the temperature. “This feels good?” she asked, raising an eyebrow.

“Well, yeah,” Night Watch replied, rubbing lightly on the cup. “You have to really feel it.”

Chica brought both of her hands on the cup, unbeknownst to her that she was clasping Night Watch’s hands. She tried to imagine the pleasure of holding a warm cup. But it was futile. She gave a sigh. “I can’t feel it like you.”

“You and I are different,” Night Watch said, “There’s got to be things I can’t do.”

“What can’t you do?” Chica asked as Freddie poked at the cup of coffee. Bonnie slid in next to her feathery friend.

“I can’t cook at all,” Night Watch said, scratching his head, “I’ve had nightmares with food because of my horrible experiences.”

“It can’t be that bad! Memories are good!” Chica said, leaning into Night Watch’s shoulders. She closed her eyes and smiled. “I’m remembering this comfort. A sense of peace and security.”

Night Watch looked down at her and then the coffee. “I think I get it,” he said.

“Get what?” Freddie asked, “Making us drink coffee?”

“I was just about to say that, but the word ‘what’ wasn’t the right word to start with,” Night Watch replied.

“Come again?” Chica said.

“It seems that you guys feel a connection with something like me, not a stupid cup of coffee,” he said, taking a sip. He felt the bitterness linger in his mouth before a rush of heat overcame him. He gave a sigh. “I think drinking this will help you understand.” He then paused. “It’s alright for you to drink these, right?”

“We can drink other liquids, but father said it wasn’t recommended.”

“So it’s safe,” he said, handing Chica the cup, “Bottoms up!”

Chica put “bottoms” and “up” together and flipped the filled cup of hot coffee. The boiling hot liquid splashed all over her, and onto Night Watch and Bonnie as well. Chica and Bonnie were fine, only sensing that the coffee on them was extremely hot. Night Watch however, had his neurons send a message to his brain. And that message was pain.

Night Watch dipped out and wriggled on the floor. He began to cringe in agony, giving out yells of pain. He quickly stripped off his jacket and shirt, leaving him half-naked and shaking. “T-That surprised me!!” Night Watch exclaimed, feeling a slight burn on his arm. He scurried over to the sink and applied cold water.

“I-I got ‘bottoms up’ wrong?” Chica asked, with a feathered finger to her chin.

“Well-” What Night Watch saw next was her rump high up in the air. Her juicy metal ass made a glare of the light, as if almost blinding Night Watch. He blinked a couple times. “That’s one bright ass you have there,” he said.

“Bottoms up!” she said, shaking her rump back and forth, “This is it, right?”

“Technically yes, but not really,” he replied, rubbing his eyes. He turned the faucet off. He rubbed his wet arm on his body and soon lathered himself in water. His dark even toned body blended in with the darkness around him. He picked up his jacket and shirt and made a face. “Is there some kind of laundry place here?” he asked.

“Not that I recall,” Freddie said, pouring himself a cup of coffee. He made circular motions with his arm to circulate the coffee. “I don’t think we have one.”

“Great,” he said, crossing his arms, “Now I’ll freeze to death.”

“You’ll be warmer with coffee,” Chica said, holding out a sticky cup.

“I think we have to start from square one.”
