Kevin siting behind the newly installed counter in his hobby/game/comic shop and breath in the smell of new products and new furniture. He had done it, years of odd jobs and boring office work and he finally did it. He finally had his shop, and he was ready to open. All the stuff was set for tomorrow's opening. He did as much leg work as he could by handing out flyers to the announcements in the local newspaper. Tomorrow is going to be the best day of his life, that is if it wasn't for the fact three people just went though the store window and are now laying on the the remains of his shop window and gaming table.

"....God hates me," said Kevin to himself before he walked over to the three people. The first to get up was a rather elderly old European man in what looked like a ye old nightgown/magician robe. The second was a woman who looked somewhere between her twenties and thirties and in a unfaltering business suit. The third was not human, as he looked like what happens if you play jigsaw with animals on a serpentine dragon. As the three got up and groaning from the pain, Kevin stepped back and looked out of broken window to see a large mass of black energy and lightning staring right at him.

"Yup, God definitely hates me," said Kevin as he jumped out of the way and a streak of dark lighting caught the old man as he got into his feet and launching him into the shelf full of new source books.

"Oh come on! It took me weeks to get all of those books and they don't come cheap!"

"Lad," said the old man as his two companions rushed the dark mass," This be the least of your worries."

The old man then drew a staff out f his sleeve and fired a fireball at the mass but the mass seemed to just adsorb it before firing it back at the jigsawed creature.

"Merlin! Stop throwing Celestia damned Fireballs already! I almost got fired on that one!"

'What do you want me to do?! It just eats any of my other spells!"

"Shut up and keep fighting you Idiots! bef-Erg!" The woman took a lance of lightning in the chest and was thrown into a nearby truck leaving a large canyon where the hod should be.

"Holy crap! Did that just? Was that ma- what the hell is going on?!"

"DUCK!"

Kevin ducked behind his counter to see a lance of dark lighting missing him by just a hair, hitting another shelf of merchandise. The jigsawed serpent grabbed the woman and teleported himself int the shop, in which the old man responded by casting a great big shield around the shop, leaving the fighters and the poor bystander trapped and the mass of dark energy pounding at the shield.

"Morgan, my dear are you ok?"

"I'm fine Discord I'm fine, it takes more than that to take me out of the equation. So what now?"

"Well, it is only a matter of time before it breaks though my shield. So I guess we are stuck here until it breaks though so lets think of a plan shall we?"

"If we needed a plan, Merlin, I would have gone to Zhuge Liang. But from the looks of it we have no choice here."

"Er," said Kevin," Forgive me for butting in but WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE AND WHY HAVE YOU DESTROYED MY SHOP?!"

"Me thinks the audience protest to much," the jigsaw serpent called Discord said as he cleaned his ears from the shouting," Really I wonder why your still hear and not gone to lala land yet."

"Indeed," replied the woman who now looked like she had aged three years since she entered the store," Most of the magic that is floating around would cause a mortal like yourself to go insane by now. Hey, staff up your butt, come and take a look at this mortal."

Kevin was backing off before hearing the old man retorted," I don't have a staff or any wooden instrument up my buttocks Morgana Ley Fey! I wish you would stop calling me that, furthermore don't you see I have a barrier to maintain?!"

"Whatever, now lets see what makes you think mortal." And with that Kevin started to jar and vibrate until all could see the atoms which comprised the mortal human. Kevin while trying to fight back from the pain this was causing him, couldn't help but awe at what is happening to him. So long as the woman eventually stopped.

'Interesting, hey Dissy take a look at this."

"How extraordinary, it must be just extremely dumb luck that we found this idiot at our present predicament. You my boy have enough ethereal ancestry, even though is very very thin, that might just save the world."

"Pain... so much pain..." was Kevin's only reply.

"Whoops, Morgan my dear while I would love to take him apart to see how he ticks right now, I do think we need him alive to help solve our and this universe current predicament."

Morgan smiled sheepishly as she stop her magic and allowed Kevin to breath and feel relief. Outside the pounding grew more and more intense, Merlin could barely hold the barrier before something outside started attacking the energy being. The being slashed with its famous Green Dragon at the being but did nothing except piss it off. Kevin recognized the new person as the famous (and dead) Guan Yu but how can that be?

More and more questions was forming in his head but was cut off when Discord grabbed him.

"Listen boy," he stressed," Right now your the only thing here which can stop that monster out there. Normally, we councils of immortals can't use you mortals without facing some sort of punishment. But in this case we right now don't have much of a choice."

"W-what are you talking about?"

"That thing out there was our previous Titan of Ether, lets just say this is what happens when a Titan goes nuts. We the council take orders from that thing. And its final order before it went nuts was to stop it. And you my boy are the only ting we can use on that thing."

"Are you kidding me?! What can I do to that thing?!"

"Its less what you can do and more how you are used kid." answered Morgan grimly," Well looks like not all of us will survive this though. I'm sure this kid would want to form his own council."

"I know my dear but what choice do we have? All I can say my boy, that don't think to bad for what we are about to do. And this WILL hurt."

"Wh-What are you going to do?"

"You'll see."

Merlin took down the barrier that stood between the being and the shop and Guan Yu stopped his rapid but futile assault on the creature. The three in the shop surrounded the being and used their respective magics to tear the creature revealing a great hole within. The being screamed in agony and futilely stuck around homing to break the triangle. Kevin couldn't help but cringed as he watch the being get pulled three separate ways. However, the next thing he knew he was being thrown right into the being.

Only thing he could see was blue and could feel was pain.

Or so he though, as he stared deep into the universe. Seeing not only seeing his earth but also an infinite amount of universes that stretch all the way across the void. He could see into the void and see the horrors of which it contains. ~~He could see the author writing this as he views the cosmos. Er no he didn't. Yes He did. Shut up.~~ Then he looked towards his own earth, which was when the pain started. He saw the world when it was born, he saw how it grow and what paths were chosen by the previous Titans of Ether. He was forcefully given knowledge on magic and how the universe worked. When the pain died down, he saw the world still in its infancy and why the first Titan of Ether chose to protect rather than just leave this place be. That's when he woke up.

"Oh my fucking head."

"Oh good, your awake" said Discord," I was worried that your brain went and popped."

"I think it did and reassembled itself. OW..... hey this isn't my shop."

"Oh of course not and I am not YOUR Discord. Welcome to Equestria my good man."

"What. I'm not on Earth anymore? What the fu-"

"Ah please don't swear, In this time period swearing can get you beheaded. Then again a lot of things can get you beheaded. Your right now in Ancient Equestria and its currently in a civil war."

"Let me give you to full run down here," said Discord as they moved though the snow. Kevin was wondering why the cold wasn't bothering him but then again it could be Discords doing."

"Empress Faust has died, from what however even I have no idea, and all of her nobles and lord are fighting among each other for control of Equestria. Her two daughters are now in the Crystal Empire being taken care of my an old friend of the Empress, this world's Titan of Ether, The Crystal King Sombra."

"Right.... so then why the fu- fudge am I here?"

"You don't get all the knowledge of the universe without interning a bit now do you?"

"...so I have to learn a bit under Sombra eh? For how long?"

"That is a question for him, now if you would excuse me I got a ton of chaos to do now. I hope your version of myself is now happy." and with that Discord popped and was gone."

"Whelp, only one thing to do, get my ass out of the cold (and I'm still not cold, what the hell) and into the .... very gaudy looking crystal place that looked like it was designed by idiots. I'm so screwed."

Author's Note

Well there you have it, The big jerk who has been screwed Terry is now the Titan of Ether, What you expected popcorns or somethings? Anyway, this is my attempt to write a proper universe as to put it in a way with my all time 'good' guy starting out as earth;s Titan of Ether. Next chapter will be the hard one since I will be writing Sombra and many guards (and as well as Tia (I'm assuming that Lulu is still to young to remember stuff and on the assumption if Tia is a little filly Lulu is roughly a few years younger than her and still a foal)) to expect a REALLY LONG chapter. I will be putting a few titbits every chapter on my creative process went I first started writing any of my stories here in the notes. Particular to my Equestria & the Heroes of Ether stories and its predecessor, New Life for an Old Golem.

So here is the first one:
The Character of Kevin and his 'evolved form" as the Titan of Ether is actually in a way reflective of my own personality (with mean this is a self insert but also mean I'm a rather big jerk if you give me the power to be one XD) and I got the whole Titan of Ether things from none other than Noah "Spoony One" Antwaler and his Ultima Retrospective videos particularly from his retrospective of Ultima 8: Pagan and Ultima 9.
