Chapters I was asleep, or should I say, half-asleep. The alarm clock beside me was beeping loudly and irritating me, so I pushed the snooze button with my magic—seriously, why did I even set an alarm? I put the pillow on my head and closed my red eyes—something was off, it itched my horn and couldn't get to sleep. I struggled to ignore it and return to my wonderful slumber, even though I was incapable of returning to my sleep, but darn, my curiosity was killing me. I wondered why it was so quiet outside, so I had decided to check what time it was in my alarm clock. I pressed the light button.
2:00 P.M
Okay, it was middle of the afternoon, no problem, I should get back to my sleep. Wait, why I was checking the time again? Oh, yeah, too quiet, ponies shouldn't be so quiet in this time. I struggled to decide whether I should check out why it was quiet outside or ignore it and get back to sleep. But like I said earlier, curiosity was killing me.
Score one for team curiosity! Woohoo!

I struggled to get on my hooves, then I lamented the fact that I was a policemare as the world spun around. Luckily, I managed to snap out of it, arrugh, I thought that being in a night shift was suitable for me but no, I was completely wrong, it gave me anemia. I wobbled every step I made towards the door, then stopped. Turning around, I went to my closet and picked my long-sleeved black shirt up, then I went to my bedside table and grabbed my black hoofwatch. Nothing could ever beat the feeling of being dressed up.
Fixing my unkempt, yellow mane with a few brush, I twisted the door knob, then I looked to my left and to my right—a habit I got from being a policemare. I closed my bedroom door and walked across the hallway, stepping on the hard wood floor. I looked at the light blue walls, complimenting it because it was the same color of my coat. I made my way downstairs and involuntarily grabbed my black baton that was resting on the sofa table—again, a bad habit that I picked up from being a policemare. I put it back down and stepped out the door.
My face scrunched up when I saw the sun rise before me. I thought it was afternoon? Being in the night shift, I always wake up in the afternoon, so waking up in the morning was a no. If I decided to work overtime for more bits, that would take twenty-four hours of me guarding the place and I would wake up in the night, and that was a bad idea. I work overtime every month, but night shift was good enough to pay me good bits. I scanned around the place and I heard my other neighbor snoring loudly, seriously, that old stallion was going to wake everybody up—only if we were not immune to the sounds he made. Yawning loudly, I checked my hoofwatch.
6:05 A.M.
I didn't remember changing the time of my alarm clock.
Cursing the one who changed the time in my alarm clock that was probably me, I remembered that my night shift ended two hours ago, pretty early , huh? Usually, my night shift would end if Princess Celestia raised the sun with her freaky telekinetic powers. I had always wondered ever since I was a kid where the sun would go when the moon would go up.
I thought that I should go back and sleep peacefully, but sadly, I couldn't, I was incapable of returning to sleep once I waked up in the middle of my slumber, no matter how sleepy I was. That beeping sound annoyed me, I should probably get rid of my alarm clock, but I wouldn't get things done. I started to jog around Ponyville, breathing in fresh air and surveying the houses around me to keep my annoyance low and of course, to keep my body fit. I could see someponies starting to start their day by opening the windows of their houses happily—that was so corny, especially when the ponies smiled and said good morning to whatever those ponies were talking to.
They were crazy and they were hallucinating, help them, Celestia.
I stopped when a pink pony waved a hoof at me and trotted towards me, that was the sign that she wanted to make a conversation with me. I groaned, I was not in the mood for chatting, especially when I was sleepy, but I decided to chat with her. Shouldn't be bad, right?
"Heya, Bolty! Going home from your night shift?" Pinkie Pie said cheerfully, wearing a smile that I found creepy. I winced when she called me 'Bolty', that would hurt my pride, but good thing Pinkie Pie was a good pony and not some bad pony that would insult me and call me names. I shook my head in response, making Pinkie Pie stare at me in confusion. I had always found that amusing when a party pony was up this early. Before she could ask something, I cut her off.
"Nope, my shift ended early today, I just woke up because of my amazing alarm clock," I said sarcastically, making Pinkie Pie giggle. I continued, looking at the morning sky. "So I decided that I should jog around the town to keep me—" I yawned heavily, "—awake, but it's barely helping me."
Pinkie Pie giggled again, putting her hooves around me and pointed at the Sugarcube Corner. "Silly, why not drink a coffee to help you wake up?" she stepped away and started to bounce towards the building. How could she even bounce like that? But as always, I dared not to question her about it. "Come on! I'll treat you coffee, for free!" she smiled gleefully as she entered the building.
I sighed and followed her inside. It was going to be one of those days.
I groaned, washing my tongue with cold water in the Sugarcube Corner restroom. Pinkie Pie mixed a chili in my coffee and guess what happened. I couldn't believe she actually called it a prank—I would rather call it a failed assassination. Wiping my wet muzzle with my shirt, I stepped out the bathroom, looking for any signs of Pinkie Pie. She actually laughed while I'm crying from the spicy coffee. Seriously? Coffee and Chili? Possibly. The worst. Combination. Ever. But hey, it actually energized me, I just didn't expect that to happen to me. I would avoid Pinkie Pie from now on—if I saw any signs that she was planning to prank me.
Walking cautiously, I looked for any pranks Pinkie Pie set up, I saw the Cakes. Good, I would ask where Pinkie Pie was to avoid her. "Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. Cake," I greeted lamely, then I received a smile from Mrs. Cake while Mr. Cake was working.
"Good morning, Boltstream! Going back home?" she asked, helping her husband to set up the store—wait, I got here even when the store was still closed, were they assuming I robbed something? Nope, from the looks they gave me, they didn't assume it.
I shook my head as I walked towards them, perhaps a cupcake would keep me chilled. "No, my shift ended early today, I just woke up," I repeated what I said earlier, then I brought my bits out and I bought the cupcake I wanted. "Have you seen Pinkie Pie?"
"Well, yes, when we came down, she was carrying... something, then she's suddenly gone when I was about to greet her," Mr. Cake put a hoof under his chin and tried to remember what she was carrying.
Buck. That didn't sound good.
Mrs. Cake stared at her husband for a second then back to me. "Oh, she is playing a prank on you," she laughed, "then that's the reason why you're here."
"Yeah, she told me that she was going to treat me her 'coffee', argh, that coffee is so spicy," I struggled to prevent my tears from falling, receiving a horrified looks from the two ponies. I wondered what made them horrified, so I looked around, but found nothing scary. I devoured my chocolate cupcake whole, savoring the taste tingling in my tongue.
Mr. Cake gulped, ears flattening and stepping away from the room. "Well, Boltstream, I hope you survive the next one."
Next?
"Good thing you survived the first one ," Mrs. Cake backed away as well, following her husband to the kitchen. "Tell Pinkie Pie that she better clean up the mess," she closed the door and left me widening my eyes.
Oh crap. That didn't really sound good.
From the looks of their faces, I was pretty sure that something bad was about to happen. Pinkie Pie mental breakdown? Psycho Pinkie Pie? When she said 'mess', I was sure that it was blood—of course, I was a policemare, and I was supposed to think like that, well, not really. So I ran to the exit door to avoid the mess and get back to my house as quickly as possible. My breakfast would be so awesome if I received it as a reward for going back home, I hope so.
"Heya, Bolty! Where do you think you're going?" Pinkie Pie suddenly came from above and smiled that sent shivers down my spins. She was carrying cupcakes, muffins, candies, and other food stuff on her back, then I realized what Mr. and Cake had meant.
'Well, Boltstream, I hope you survive the next one.'
That douche, why he didn't give me an obvious warning?
"Wanna taste some of my baked 'goods'?"

"Hey, Bolty! Get back here!" Pinkie Pie called me as she balanced the food on her back, bouncing after me. She grinned happily as I trotted faster.
I assumed that only Pinkie Pie could bring that many food with her without it falling. I trotted even faster, fearing that she would feed me again. "Nope!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, making Pinkie Pie look dissapointed. I continued trotting forward, I didn't want to make my stomach angry again or I would have a diarrhea—arrugh, having a diarrhea really sucked. I expected Pinkie Pie to still chase me, since nopony could ever escape her, but I was shocked when she was just standing there, looking really disappointed. Well, that was better anyway.
"Aww, that one got away. Oh, I know! I should bring these foodies to Rarity since she's reeeaally sleepy from sewing dresses all night long! Okay, mission: Bring Rarity The Wake-Up-And-Smile Foodies and Be Happy Forever Mission!" she grinned to herself and went to the direction where Rarity lived.
I swear everypony in this place was crazy, who was she talking to? Probably me, because I really had good ears and she probably knew that, but it seemed that she was not talking to me. I decided to shrug it off and slowed down to a walk, looking at the ground.
I passed by familiar and unfamiliar ponies as I walked, giving me a wave and greets. Somepony actually welcomed me as if I just got here. That was a really rare encounter for me, since I lived in Ponyville for a year and they probably should know me since Pinkie Pie threw a welcome party for me and my brother—unless they were newer than me in this place. To be honest, I was not really that sociable and not an introvert. I only had... less than five friends, maybe? I assumed that the reason why they welcomed me was because I was a night shift policemare—it made sense, sleeping all day long, guarding all night long and having red eyes were more than enough for somepony to call me a vampony, and that means I was nowhere to be seen at day and I would be seen at night, quite creepy, even when I didn't believe in vamponies, they were very creepy. I shrugged all my thoughts off and stopped in front of my house.
I twisted the cold door knob with my hoof, not using my magic for a while because I'm pretty tired and dizzy. Since I had a lot of free time this day, perhaps I should go see the doctor later for my anemia. Darn, it was getting worse, I was vexed by the fact that this sickness kept coming back every month. Good riddance, it was literally sucking my bits. Maybe being a policemare was not suitable for me at all, because I needed to stay up late and staying up late was bad for my health. Good thing they still hired me, because I was perfectly healthy that time I started to work.
Welcomed by the aroma coming from the kitchen, my mouth started to water. I was right about that I would get a reward for going back home, good thing I had a company in my house. I closed the door and walked towards the kitchen, sniffing the delicious scent of pancakes and other foods. I entered the kitchen and saw my twin pegasus brother cooking and flipping pancakes, and hey, he was wearing a pink apron, never saw him wear that one before. I furrowed my eyebrows at my mother-brother when he shook his hips while humming a catchy tune. I decided to give him privacy to do what mothers did, and I left the kitchen without making a noise.
The reason why I was a unicorn and he was a pegasus was because of family hereditary. My aunt was a unicorn and my grandfather was a pegasus. Like the newborn fraternal twins in the Sugarcube Corner, Pound Cake was a pegasus and Pumpkin Cake was a unicorn, we were pretty much alike to them.
I considered going to the dining room and wait for him. While I was passing by the sofa, I involuntarily grabbed my baton again and facehoofed. I was getting annoyed because I wasted my magic energy and I felt weary again. I put it down and sat down on the chair then slumped my face on the table, waiting for the breakfast to appear in front of my face.
I heard a soft thump of a plate and looked up, staring at the blue-eyed pegasus that looked exactly like me—except for the mane and the eyes. I gave him a hoofbump and grabbed the pancake he had prepared. "I can't believe you're wearing an apron and humming like that," I lazily said, pouring amounts of syrup on my pancake.
Then suddenly, Thunderstream turned beet red and almost choked on the pancake he was eating. I offered him a glass of water and he widened his eyes after drinking it. "I thought you just came from work!" he admitted his tiny little secret indirectly, receiving a snicker from me. He glared at me, ruffling his light blue wings. "It's six thirty-three in the morning!
Thunderstream was the one who had always prepared me food whenever I came home, like mothers preparing for dinner, but it was breakfast in my life. I came home every six o'clock in the morning and waited for thirty minutes for Thunderstream to wake up to cook me food. I couldn't do it by myself because, like Thunderstream had said, I would put the kitchen on fire. And I couldn't even wake him up because he was a big heavy sleeper.
"Bro, I told you last night that my shift would end at four o'clock," I pointed my fork at him and ate my pancake. "Too bad you forgot and failed to hide your little secret, besides, I woke up thirty minutes ago, jogged around Ponyville and I just came home," I saw him groaning and putting a hoof on his face. I really wanted to know why he was wearing one, but my curiosity wouldn't win this time.
Score one for team anti-curiosity! Woohoo!
Where were these voices coming from?
I cleared my throat to get his attention, then I gave him a serious stare. "Scratch that, are you the one who changed time of my alarm clock?" I said with a hint of growl in my voice. If he was the one who changed the time, I would beat him—even when he was my only brother. Nopony should ever destroy my sleeping patterns, it would make me feel nauseous, like what I was feeling right now. Fatigue when using magic? Check. Wobbly sometimes? Check. World spinning around? Check. Pale? Double-check.
Thunderstream stared at me, looking hurt and confused that it sent me shivers down my spine. "Why would I do that to you?" he looked at me with his honest and sincere eyes, he was proving that he wasn't lying with just his eyes.
I looked at his eyes for a moment and came into a conclusion that I was probably the one who changed it. I forgot that Thunderstream would never lie to me. I looked at my pancake and continued eating it. "Sorry, Thunderstream, it seems that I'm the one who changed it."
He nodded, not saying a word while eating his pancakes, of course, we would never break the law that we should never talk when your mouth was full.
Around that time, I saw it. In the corners of my left eye, I saw it. Even when I was barely paying attention, my unnatural perception could pick up even the smallest details. I saw my twin brother formed the smallest of the smirks. I tried to ignore it, but my horn itched so badly as if it was begging me to investigate why he was smirking. I sighed and fixed my eyes on him.
"Why you're smirking?"
Thunderstream looked at me, dumbfounded. Hah, I got him. I also heard him elicit the smallest gasp of the smallest gasps. Darn, my perception was purely levels above his perception. He stuttered and cleared his throat, which, of course, received a raised eyebrow from me.
"Of course, why I shouldn't? I'm just happy that my pancake is delicious, like it always is," he puffed his chest out, looking confident. I still found him suspicious, but I had decided that I should ignore him for a while.
"Nevermind that. By the way, I think your boss is going to be angry at you," I pointed at the wall clock with my fork, gesturing Thunderstream to read it. Feeling dizzy, I put down the fork and grabbed it with my hooves, using magic would drain me out if I didn't.
Thunderstream's eyes widened then he devoured the pancake in just one gulp and flew outside. "Bye, sis!" he quickly said as he passed by the window behind me.
I sighed again, then finished the last of the pancake and put it on the sink in the kitchen. I should clean this dishes since Thunderstream would be back from his work for four hours, and it was still seven in the morning. I looked at the dishes and rolled up my sleeves. After this, I would try to sleep.
I laid on my bed, shutting my eyes tight. I tried to count sheep, but nothing happened to me. I changed my sleeping positions every minute, still nothing. I threw my blanket away angrily, sighing in frustration. I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep because I couldn't sleep twice a day—not even a nap. That was my sixty-fifth attempt of trying to sleep in this month.
I wasn't even sleepy to begin with, even when I only slept for two hours. Seriously, what was wrong with my body? Dark rings under my eyes grew even more and I was paler than before, making me look like a ghost. Perhaps I should go see the doctor.
I made my way outside my house and locked the door with my key. I looked around for any signs of Pinkie Pie, and then I remembered that she was going to prank someone else. Walking towards the direction of the hospital, I felt something lightly hit the left side of my body. Noticing that I was levitating something I didn't even know, I levitated it in front of my face. It was my baton.
I groaned in frustration. It was the third time of this day I involuntarily carried my baton with me.
I decided to bring it with me, since I didn't feel like going back home again. Continuing forward, I saw Thunderstream clearing clouds with his four co-workers. He waved at me and I waved back lazily, rolling my eyes. I heard him snicker softly, maybe he saw my baton.
Finally, I reached the hospital. Pushing the glass doors with my hoof, I saw the policestallion nodded at me while smiling. I nodded back awkwardly, maybe he remembered me because of my monthly visits to the doctor—well, at least somepony actually remembered me, I was getting vexed by the rare ‘Welcome to Ponyville’ greetings.
As I walked down the hallway, I saw several nurses doing their work—some smiled and some ignored me. I found the ponies who smiled at me quite friendly, because they wasted a second to smile at me. After I talked to the receptionist, I reached Dr. Blood’s office. I had always found his name disturbing, what kind of parents name their foals like that?
I opened the door quietly and I saw the red stallion with a brown mane, his flank was adorned with a drop of blood and a syringe. He was busily playing with his tiny gaming console. I took a seat and stared at him, waiting for him to notice my presence. Coughing loudly, he finally noticed my presence. I raised my eyebrow at him, I knew he liked playing with his Gamecolt, but bringing it in his work is unprofessional.
He put down his Gamecolt, smiling sheepishly. "Hello, Boltstream, didn't see you there."
"Didn't the receptionist call you?"
"Well, yeah, I just didn't notice you."
I gave him an incredulous look, tapping my hooves on his table. "Even when I opened the door and took a seat?"
He just grinned.
Deciding not to question him anymore, I looked at him and resisted the urge to punch him in the face. "I think you know why I'm here."
Dr. Blood nodded and grabbed his medical tools. Before he made medical investigations on me, he noticed the red aura behind me. "I just don't understand why you always have your baton with you," he snickered and proceeded to investigate me.
I rolled my eyes and sighed. "Ignore it."
After he was finished investigating me, he briefly wrote something on his clipboard and looked at me with a serious face. "You look worse than before."
"Didn't notice," I said sarcastically and looked at my hoofwatch.
Dr. Blood rolled his eyes and took out a syringe. He knew the drill, investigate me and take small amounts of blood to check my red blood count. After he was finished sucking my blood with his syringe, he frowned at me and clicked his tongue. "You really need to quit being a policemare and be a doctor."
I looked at him lazily with my tightened jaw. "Wouldn't that be busier than being a policemare?"
He paused a little and nodded. "Well, that's better than that job," he nodded sheepishly and finished writing on his clipboard.
"Nope, I'm a policemare, forever ."
"I don't understand why you're dedicated to that job, even when it is killing you," he sighed at me and looked at the time. "Well, we're pretty much finished here. Continue drinking iron vitamins, exercise daily, don't stay up late—which you probably won't follow, and other things you know already. I'll call you once I'm done studying your blood," he took a deep breathe and continued talking. "And for the umpteenth time, Boltstream, you need blood transfusion if you don't want anemia messing your life, you're AB negative for Celestia's sake!"
I shook my head stubbornly and made a tired look. I knew I need blood transfusion, but I didn't like that idea, and I didn't know why. "And for the umpteenth time, Bloody, the answer is no."
He twitched his eyes and chuckled. "You're so stubborn. I'm not responsible when you died because of severe anemia. Too bad your brother is AB positive."
Dr. Blood continued rambling medical things while I eyed his Gamecolt lying on his table. Darn, he forgot to shut it down, what a complete waste of battery. I could see that he was playing Ponymon and was battling a rare ponymon. So foalish of you, Bloody, so was I. I swore that I was going to trade ponymons with him once he was done catching that ponymon.
"And we're done here," he happily said, lying his back on his chair and stared at his Gamecolt.
I stood up and began walking towards his door, then I stopped to look at him. "By the way, thank you for bearing with my stubbornness."
He rolled his eyes and waved his hoof dismissively, smirking at me. "Good thing I can still manage."
Nodding, I continued walking slowly towards the door, but I was stopped by Dr. Blood with his cough.
"Regardless to say, you also need to smile, I never see you smile before," he smiled at me warmly and continued. "Smiling will make you live longer."
I continued walking again and opened the door, then I looked back. "Never."

I went back to my room with dizziness and my baton behind me. I glanced at the clock on the wall and groaned in frustration.
8:30 A.M.
Oh Celestia, what was I going to do in my life? I couldn't sleep, I couldn't meet my friends, I couldn't go to Thunderstream to check out what he was doing because of my lack of wings, I couldn't play with my Gamecolt because it was charging, and I couldn't do anything productive.
I just realized how boring my life was.
"You really need to quit being a policemare and be a doctor."
Nopey nope.
I was so devoted to that job that I forgot to take care of my health. If only I was a pegasus like Thunderstream, I wouldn't have anemia messing my life. I could have a same job as him and kick clouds all day, or I could stand on clouds. I really wanted to fly with my brother or race with him. Needless to say, I was aiming to become like Rainbow Dash, even when I knew that it was hopeless.
I had always wanted to be a pegasus that I became so zealous of Thunderstream and Rainbow Dash.
Sighing, I sat on my comfy bed and stared at my guitar case standing beside my bed. I loved my blue guitar, but I had neglected it because of my busy schedule. I wondered if the guitar was still in tune, but I would do that later after I relax my mind—tuning a really out of tune guitar could be a total pain in the flank. I looked out the window, then I saw the crystal castle-y thingy of Princess Twilight.
Maybe reading could help me destroy boredom.
I heard she started a new library in it because her formal library was completely destroyed by that centaur, but nopony had the guts to enter that castle library because of the building's design. Entering the castle was like entering Princess Celestia's castle full of royal guards, only that there were no guards. Well, I had the guts, and nopony could ever stop me.
I had to admit though, I liked Golden Oaks Library, too bad it was destroyed. That was the only reason I had hated Tirek.
Standing, I made my way towards the door. Reading it is, then. Books wouldn't hurt me, right?
I stopped walking, I noticed that I was carrying my baton again . I sighed in irritation, then I put my baton under the mattress of my bed. Then I walked outside my house, feeling lightheaded as ever. I wondered if I could still manage to go to the library without fainting.
Frowning sadly, I saw the library tree being demolished by ponies. I rarely went to that library, but it caused me great sadness. Just how much Twilight suffered when Tirek destroyed her formal home and library? I continued walking towards the crystal castle, indirectly muttering words of sympathy to Twilight.
My stomach rumbled, completely questioning it because I ate tons of Thunderstream's delicious pancakes this morning, how could I become hungry? I slowly walked to the apple stand, sighing as ponies walked by. "Hello, Applejack, two apples please," I took my bits out and received a smile from her.
"Hello, Boltstream, you're looking fine and dandy today, aren't ya? Rarely seen ya in the mornin'!" the orange pony happily initiated a conversation, taking the bits and giving me the two apples I had wanted.
I swore she implied sarcasm.
I nodded and took a bite from the juicy, red apple. I decided to play along with her, so I put up my best energetic voice. "Yeah."
And I swore there was an obvious meaning behind her small smirk and mocking eyes—even when it was not visible to untrained eyes.
The blond mare tipped the end of her cowpony hat and gave me a pat on the back. "Well, where are you going today? I reckon you're going to visit the doctor?"
"Did that already," sighing, I pointed at the crystal castle. "Actually, I'm going to read a book to entertain me."
"Well, have a good day," Applejack winked at me, "Twilight is still shelving the new books, but she won't mind you."
Waving goodbye, I continued walking while biting my apple. The dirt below me was cold, making me shiver slightly. I checked the time in my hoofwatch and decided to trot towards the library to save my hoof from shivering. I liked warm places, especially when it's winter—but sadly, being a policemare made me feel cold every time I was guarding. My mind was lost in deep thought that I didn't know where was I.
Darn, I had to find the castle again. I facehoofed but I did it completely wrong—I almost gave myself a black eye! Looking at my vicinity, I saw the castle just meters away from me. It might not look like it, but Ponyville was enormous, you could actually get lost here. I galloped to my right, where the castle was. Now I was wondering why I couldn't get to places fast, I was so slow that I began to think that I was walking in Ponyville for hours.
Finally, I reached the Friendship Castle, Crystal Library, Twilight's Castle, or whatever Twilight name the gorgeous building. I took a step forward on the golden stairs with a slight feeling of butterflies in my stomach. I looked at the crystal star above me, it was glittering as the sun's beams hit it. The exterior was extremely breathtaking that I understood how ponies feel when they were entering this castle. I began to wonder the small castle's interior.
Without further ado, I knocked at the door.
Before the Princesses were born—no—before their mother was born, there were great and magical creatures that were more powerful than ponies—such power could move mountains and even the land. These creatures were mysteries to ponies, they appeared in front of ponies to help them—or kill them.
Ponies had feared them, knowing that these creatures were powerful than them. One of the creatures they feared were centaurs. Their ruler, Nappak, commanded them to raid ponies' homes for alcohol—the thing they had always wanted in their life. However, the ponies were protected by minotaurs. The ponies agreed to become their allies as they protected each other from creatures with malicious intents.
Greed, evil and malice grew in some creatures, driving them into insanity. They declared war against the ponies and their allies to win the land. Ponies were terrified, of course, having your enemy stronger than you was bad enough, but having the first war in the history?
The ponies and their allies protected their land, wanting to end the bloody war. But the enemies started to outnumber them and became more insane. The grandfather of the Princesses sadly declared that they should be sent to Tartarus—the place of torment and suffering that he made. They shouldn't be sent there, but the creatures killed many lives. Stepping into the war, he cast the spell.
The spell stopped the war, leaving only the ponies, the creatures who allied with them, and the creatures who didn't participate in the war. The gates of Tartarus was guarded by the three-headed dog with manes of serpents and claws of the lion, Cerberus, preventing someone to enter or escape Tartarus.
The creatures separated with the ponies, living in their own lives. The havoc that painted Equestria was fixed, and the peace and harmony remained. However, the thing that drove the imprisoned creatures into insanity and evil was completely unknown.
