Duel 1: Kids These Days

Toni had a very lively house in the far eastern end of Ponyville, that is, though nopony knew him. A human, waking up in a pony dominant world, without anyone even seeing him, made a house about two stories tall. It wasn't something that was easily hidden, nopony could find it because, this area was unexplored.

Toni had thought about making friends amongst the ponies and having friendly duel tournaments, but he had one problem. His unknown syndrome made it hard for him to talk to strangers, well at least he wasn't good at striking up conversations nor continuing them. All he had was a deck and duel disk he had found in a junkyard. The cards weren't good, hardly useful in anyway, but use them correctly, and you could have the best deck in all of Equestria. Something Toni specialized in was something called "Tuning Monsters". These monsters are what you use to summon "Synchro" monsters. Toni, living on the streets back on Earth, was very skilled in taking things without being caught, spotted, or investigated. He had managed to get the right "Synchro" monsters he needed.

Every now and then, he loved to watch young duelists fight in one-on-one duels for things like chores, homework, and other stupid things. He would watch from on top the school, behind the school, in trees, and even under or behind tables. He was never spotted... until today.

"Hey! Watch it!" Shouted a female youngster from below. Here comes another duel.

"You watch it! I didn't do anything!" Shouted another female voice.

"You just pushed me!" She screamed at her opponent.

"Please blank flank, I think you need to get you eyes fixed. That is unless..."

Here it comes.

"...you wanna duel."

Toni peeked slightly over the top of the school house building at the sight of an orange pegasus and a pink earth pony staring each other down from a distance away. Almost as soon as she said so, the earth pony pulled out her duel disk. The orange pegasus grunted, but continued her stare.

"Well, are you too scared?"

"Hah, no way! I'd duel anypony, any day." The pegasus said, picking up her duel disk and aiming it at the pink pony. It's panels extended and it glowed different various colors, as did her opponent.

"DUEL!"

Toni smirked as a group of ponies surrounded the duel area and prepared for a great duel.

First turn: ???: 4000 LP ???: 4000 LP

The pegasus went first, "My draw!"

She eyed the cards she held in her hand and smirked.

"I summon, Genex Controller in attack mode!" She said before placing a card on the disk. A blue circle appeared next to her as a monster popped out. The monster had 1400 ATK points. She pulled another card out of her hand. "I set an old favourite and end my turn."

Second turn : ???: 4000 LP ???: 4000 LP

"My draw!" Said the pink pony and made a smirk expression. "And I think I'll use it wisely, come forth Diamond Ore!" Just then, a blue circle appeared next to her and a monster popped out. The monster had 1900 ATK points.

"But that's a level 5 monster!" The orange pegasus said.

"Its ability allows me to summon it when you have a monster and I don't." The pink pony stated. "Next, I summon Bronze Ore in attack mode." The same circle allowed a weak looking monster to appear. The monster had 0 ATK points. "Next I activate Bronze Ore's ability, once per turn, I can change its level to 3." And so it did, the monster's level increased from 1 to 3. "Hah, prepare yourself blank flank, because I tune my level 5 Diamond Ore, with my level 3 Bronze ore, in order to synchro summon... Platinum Ore!" A big blue circle allowed a much bigger monster to appear. The monster had 3000 ATK points. "Now attack that robot!" The monster lunged in to attack Genex controller.

"He doesn't like to be called that!" The pegasus said as she touched her trap card. "I play Mirror Force! Now that rock can go back underground!"

"His effect now activates, once per turn, by skipping my battle phase, I can negate any card and destroy it." The pegasus grunted as her precious trap card was shattered. "And that ends my turn."

Third turn: ???: 4000 LP ???: 4000 LP
"Finally, I draw!" The pegasus drew her card. "And I summon Genex Turbine." The monster had 1400 ATK points. "Now, I think it's time you put your money were your mouth is, because now my 'robots' require a little advancement. I'll tune my level 4 Genex Turbine with my level 3 Genex Controller! I synchro summon... Power Tool Dragon!" A blast of light disappeared, revealing a sharp looking dragon with various power tools on it. The monster had 2300 ATK points.

"That puny little thing doesn't even compare to my-"

"Shut up and listen! Once per turn, I can grab myself a little extra thanks to my dragon. Now, not to make you cry but, I equip Axe of Despair to my dragon!" And axe appeared in replacement of its screwdriver, increasing its ATK to 3300. "But I have another trick up my sleeve. I equip Metal Arrow to my dragon, not only does he get 400 more ATK points, but when he destroys a monster, he can attack a second time!"

"No way!" The pink pony shouted in fear of losing.

"This outta teach you, Power Tool Dragon, attack Platinum Ore!"

The dragon obeyed, smashing the Platinum Ore with its giant axe, obliterating it. It then focused on the shivering pink pony who now had 3300 LP left.

"And now for you, attack her directly!" The pegasus yelled in triumph.

"Noooooooo!" Shouted the pink pony as her LP reached 0. The duel was over, the winner was the pegasus.

Toni was disappointed in how the two didn't use synchro monsters correctly. The pegasus used it for power, and the pink pony used it for fear, and well, to show off.

"Ok, now to leave without being spotted." Toni whispered to himself. He expertly crawled across the roof and over to the edge of it. He carefully made his way down to the backside of the building. All he had to do was walk straight, avoid any passerbys, and he'd be fine. But a sudden voice came from behind him.

"What the buck?" Said a familiar voice. Toni slowly turned around to find the pegasus from before, except she had company.

Along side her was a white unicorn, and a yellow pony like the pink one, except she had a bow. Toni gulped...

...he had been caught.
