Wolverine's Unwanted Relocation
Fuck me...
Previous ChapterNext Chapter“Fuck me…” That was all Wolverine got out as he awoke in a rather smelly looking prison cell. He was pleasently surprised that he didn’t have any roommates… though on second thought he coulda used a punching bag right about now. He looked at the walls of the cell, and then the the lack of barred front. It was just a door that gleamed with an unnatural amount of light.
“What the hell?” He’s been a soldier for most of his unnaturally long life, so he knew not to base observations off of appearances…he simply didn’t make a lot of astute observations. So, running full speeds at the wall seemed like a good road to take on this matter. He collided with what felt like a brick wall. No, not a brick wall, a brick wall woulda hurt, but it would have fallen. This did not. This also repelled him back to the other end of the cell, and, he appeared to have lost none of his momentum.
“Newton, you have failed me again.”
Twilight Sparkle was back in ponyville, gathering her friends to go to the crystal empire. She lied about being sent to be an ambassador, but it served its purpose. She’s gottem it put awway for the time being, and could now get on with more important tasks. Such as those pertaining to the newly reawoken empire. She sighed. It was going to be a long day.
She arrived at the train station, with everyone there and ready for anything. Rarity especially, just look at all those suitcases.
“Um, Rarity, what do you keep in all of those?” Twilight questioned.
“Oh, you know me, better to be prepared than to not be prepared enough.”
Twilight sighed, “No no, what is in the suitcases?”
“Scarves, of course darling. One can never have too many scarves.”
“You know, Spike told me that too much of a good thing can be-“
“One can never have too many scarves, Twilight.”
She sighed again. Might as well get some sleep on the train, something told her that perhaps there was more to this mission than just overseeing the empire’s return.
Wolverine got up. He looked around, and the others in cells around him were looking at him in wonder. He felt some light on the left of his face, so he turned to it. He was greeted by a decent sized crack.
“Good, I can get out of this place.” Apparently, in all their brilliance, the princesses did not completely surround the prison in magic, but instead used rocks. He would have facepalmed at their stupidity, but instead shot his claws out and began hacking away at the wall.
CHOO! CHOO!
Twilight awoke to the sound of the train nearing the crystal station(? I dunno, ill just call it that.). She blinked the tiredness away from her eyes, and quietly rubbed underneath them. Her friends had all been talking throughout the ride, and so they needn’t awake. They all shared a glance her way, before saying,
“Good morning Twilight!” She smiled warmly, and sat up. She glanced out the window, and saw nothing out of the ordinary, except the ridiculous amount of snow outside, the giant blue semi-sphere in the distance, and a certain Captain of the Royal Guard wating for her. She leapt from the train and into the forehooves of her older brother. The embrace did not last however, when he said,
“We need to get moving, there are dark forces at work here.”
Twilight looked at him expectantly, but no more was spared. She briefly wondered if he was talking about Sombra, but didn’t dwell on it any further, because she noticed her friends’ ascent onwards. She galloped to catch up, and said,
“Wait for me!” they turned back, surprised by the sudden burst of sound from their friend, they assumed her to be leading. When they looked back, she was definitely not there, and when they turned back to where they heard her voice, she was not there either. They were worried, and her brother had sloed now to a trot. He turned around and bit his lip as he saw no sign of Twilight.
“Anypony know where she could be?”
They all nodded simultaniously, and he turned around only to find his little sister right in front of him.
“Boo!”
Shining jumped back a good several inches, before breaking into laughter with the 6 mares. But he did not notice the looming darkness that had started over the horizon.
Huh, so that’s where I am.” Wolverine voiced out loud, not recognizing where he was until that moment. He was surprised that he didn’t feel cold until this point, what with all this snow. He knew he could survive, but it would be uncomfortable anyways. He started his trek off into the distance in pursuit of what he could only describe as a large blue bubble.
The princesses were sitting and watching through a small pond in their courtyard, at the newest creature they had found. It had proved interesting as of yet, and they were enjoying watching it. However, when they noticed how it got out of its cell, they caught their breath, and eachother’s gaze.
“Celly?”
“Luna?”
They both nodded, and each sent some magic into the pool they were watching. It started to swirl rapidly, slowly creating a tornado of water.
“After you sister.”
Luna nodded, and jumped in. Celestia, without second thought, followed her there. Looks like this episode they would have to interfere.
“Gah, theres too much of this damn snow!” Wolverine was not happy. He was so heavy, that he fell through the snow instantly upon stepping on it. So, in a rage fueled frenzie, he began thrashing about and tearing himself a passageway through the snow. To an outside observer, it would appear as though a crack were openning up in the earth, with only a head visible above. He was making surprisingly good time, but maybe that was just his mind playin tricks on him.
He continued his march for about 20 minuted more, when he came to where the bubble was, only to find himself 12 feet off.
“Shit, looks like I missed.” After the obvious was stated, he turned left, and tunneled there to the bubble. He looked down at his frost-bitten hands, and retracted the claws, shivering at their re-entry. He causiously made the final steps to it, to find he was met with litte resistance. He bathed in the new warmth, and closed his eyes in the embrace. When he opened them, he was again disappointed.
Twilight sparkle gaped. How could it have made it to the crystal empire? He had no magical residue on him, so he wasn’t teleported. She then facehooved; Alcoltraz was located next to the Crystal empire. The only reason she hadn’t made that connection before, was because, oh I don’t know, there wasn’t a crystal empire before. She would have made a sarcastic remark to herself, except there was a problem.
Standing there was Wolverine.
If it werent so damn cold outside of the bubble, wolverine wouldn’t even consider inside an option. There were more of those creatures here, the ones that talked and made noise. Yeah, he had a feeling that he wasn’t exactly sent in the past. More like he was sent away to… somewhere. He brought a hand to his forehead. This was far too complex for him. He looked up to see that the coloured horses were still staring at him.
“Yes?” He said in his gruff voice. It wasn’t welcoming, but the flinch, he felt, was hardly necessary. They were scared of him, but what for? All that he’s done was walk into town, and take ridicule. He was still amazed that the town was standing.
The horses present did not seem to want to partake in conversation, so wolverine swiveled to the left, and headed off in that direction. E made it about 3 steps.
“Hey, where do you think that you’re going?” Said the rainbow one. She had her nose up against his, and was glaring at him. At his continued look of indifference, she faltered for a second, backing off to a reasonable distance away.
He simply replied, “trying to find somewhere quiet.” He replied back to them. He didn't know why he bothered even talking. His usual policy is that he told information where it was necessary, and to those who deserved said information, as to avoid them responding. This was not the case.
“And why should we believe you? What have you don’t to make us trust you?” The rainbow one said accusingly.
“What have I done to make you distrust me? All I've done is get transported to some unknown place with talking horses, and then I get accused of… whatever it is Im accused of. I just want to sit down and think for a while, where I'm not getting stabbed by forks or blown apart.” He added extra emphasis on the last part, and Rainbow Dash hung her head for only a moment; this fact was not lost on the rest of the group, before straightening up again, and saying,
“well, you did that weird thing, and now your better! I was just trying to protect my friends okay!” She seemed to be trying to convince herself more than him. He just scoffed and kept walking, yet again dropping rainbow dash with just his walk. He was already unhappy at the condition of his leather jacket before the explosion, now it was completely gone, leaving only a beaten up wife-beater. He supposed it was good not to have leather around horses, but he couldn't care less.
Rainbow’s friends were still confused as the the point of the conversation just held in front of them. Apparently, he had been blown apart, but that’s impossible! Twilight reasoned in her head. ‘What could have possibly made him-‘ she cut off her own train of thought when she thought of it. The sonic rainboom was an impressive aerial feat, but it required over 70% of rainbow dash’s pegasus magic to reach those speeds and to keep her own body, and the objects around her, intact.
And from the turn the conversation made, she could assume that it was indeed purposeful. But that still left the question of what the “weird thing” he did to make himself better was. If he had been blown apart, how was he intact now? Twilight got more intense in her thought as more questions emerged. Just what was he?
Wolverine merely turned away, and moved towards the crystal empire, ignoring the silent commotion before him. They all in turn had gotten looks on their faces ranging anywhere from thoughtful, to downright hatred. The latter of which from the blue one before him, with the spectral tail colouration. He stopped his thought there, wondering where those terms had come from. Before he could dwell on it, he became aware of his feet no longer hitting the ground, and an odd purple distortion before him. He couldn’t see beyond it. He pulled his arms up, and noticed that they too were surrounded in the stuff.
Twilight couldn't believe it. The strain on her magic to hold him up was impossible. For the few seconds that she had been holding him, she had used up a lot of her magical reserves. Or at least known ones. It is common knowledge that unicorns are born with the magical reserves that they die with, they need only discover them. Magic itself was very much conservation, and how well you can control it. The power of the spell is not affected by the amount of magic used. So why in equestria could she have trouble lifting this creature. It felt slippery in nature, as if it were a greased pot and she was trying to hold on with equally greased fingers. So the logical conclusion wsa to hold underneath him, as one would hold a greased pot. Before she could move to do so, she found herself amazed by how little control she had over him. He was moving freely within it, as if his body repelled magic.
“Hey, purple? Do you mind letting me down?” All of this was said with a surprisingly light tone, maybe...
“If you don’t ill have to kill everyone you know, or even associate yourself with. So no biggy if you don’t wanna.”
Twilight Sparkle’s eyes went wide with this. It was as if he had no feelings foe anything, as if he were in his own little world and everything else was a distraction.
“Just kidding about that last part, though I was serious. Please let me down, if I jump ill just crater the ground.”
Curious, Twilight completely cut her magic from the spell. Like a bullet Wolverines form went crashing into the ground, and he was in down to his shoulders.
“Yeah, not like that. Next time, lower me slowly please.” He went to get himself out of the hole, but found he was stuck. Ugh, that means listening to them talk. Bothersome.
“I just want to ask a few questions, is that alright?”
“No…”
“Good, so this will be over in just a second.” She said, disregarding anything and everything that he said.
“First order of buissness, what are you, or rather who are you. Please answer both.”
“Me? Well, my mom and dad were humans, but im a mutant. Now let me out-“
“Humans? Did I hear correctly?”
“Yes, but that’s not the point, the point is that being stuck in this hole is pissing me off.”
“Next question, what did you mean by being a mutant.”
“I mean,” He said, getting one arm unstuck. He had been working at it for a while, while answering the question. “That normal humans cant do,” he said, gesturing to the metal claw that shot out as he said “this.” He then unstuck the other arm, and using his inhuman strength, pushed himself out. Claw still out, he gestured to them, making them flinch.
“I don’t want to hurt you, but I wont hesitate if I need to, got it?” he said, giving them time to get the general just of it by extending his other claw.
“If you need me, ill be in some dark room somewhere contemplating my worlds fall, and the deaths of my friends. Seeya later horses.” He said, as he again set out to leave. This time, a pinkish aura surorunded him, but he made a leap away from it, and started sprinting. He ran towards the first thing he saw, the castle. He ran to it, getting several startled gasps, and “oh my”s, and then he made it. He found a good place to hide, and then fell asleep, wondering how he let himself slip like that.
“Do ya suppose that big feller meant it when he said that?” applejack questioned aloud, her mind racing about new knowledge about the creature.
“I don’t know, but im willing to give it the benefit of the doubt.” Twilight said, putting on her best determined face.
“Um, Twilight, I don’t think you remember the property damage, the threats, and all the other countless things that creature has done.” Rainbow said, still angered at the creature. It took a buckin rainboom, and got back up. Not that she, ya know. Wanted to kill it. ‘It was instinct!’ She mentally screamed.
“Doesn’t matter. The way I see the situation, I cant find a single reason hy it would have done any of those things, were it not provoked.” She replied back again, and still with the same facial expression. If they were going to welcome this creature, then they needed to forget any past actions, and try to work off a clean slate.
Wolverine was still sitting next to the castle walls, contemplating his situation. On one hand, his friends didn't really die. If he changed everything for the better, then they would be alive again right? With no recollection of the past at all. But, on the other hoof… hand, I also arrived in horse-land, where all this fucked up shits been happening. Like, a spectral horse blowing my flesh off. Yeah, crazy, fucked up… shit?
His train of thought broke when he noticed purple was coming over to greet him. Without the others. He’d seen this before, and as she approached he went through his mental checklist. Step one,
“
Hello, I’m Twilight Sparkle, and I'm sorry for how my friends have all acted earlier.”
Perfect, step two,
“I just want to ask you a few questions, is that alright with you?”
Wolverine merely smirked at the accuracy of his guess, before frowning immediately.
“No.”
Twilight sighed. She really wanted to befriend this creature, she really did. It was almost as if he as resisting her.
“Listen, I know you want to help. I shouldn't have told you that in the first place, all its done is complicate things further.” He said, looking up to her as he spoke. “But I don’t need, or want help. There's obviously some important reason for you to be here, so get on with it already. I just wanna sit here, and smoke a damn cigar in peace.”
Twilight sensed the firmness in his tone, but in this instance, he had no underlying harshness or negativity. He just wanted to be alone, and he was trying to accomplish that by reminding her of, what again? ‘Oh yeah!’ she exclaimed mentally, and snapping back into focus. ‘No big deal, just kinda the entire empire’s return or fall, nothing drastic on the line at all,’ she continued.
“Wait guys, remember, were here for a reason.” She started, addressing the whole group. “We need to focus here. We need to save the crystal empire, or else it may fall again to Sombra’s magic.” Then she noticed that no one had followed her to meet Wolverine. Wolverine tensed up, and looked at her. She looked back, and then remembered her primary goal. Her horn flared with magic, and she quickly teleported back to her friends. Upon arrival, her friends jumped a little, and then let out short relieved breaths.
“Thank goodness your alright, darling!” Rarity exclaimed, the first to break the brief silence. “So what did you find out about that monster?”
“Its not important, what is important is that we get to the castle right away. Cadence-“ then she saw the state of her old foal-sitter. Her eyes half closed, and many bags underneath, she made for a pretty pitiful sight. Her eyes jumped closed, and she half collapsed before Armor got to her, and quickly brought her back up. At the expectant glances from everyone, Shining quickly said, “Go, hurry! The shield is already deteriorating! You need to find the heart now!”
At this everyone’s eyes widened, and looked at the shield. What used to be a bright cyan colour was now quickly melting before them. Beyond it was a dark misty substance, with the unmistakable face of King Sombra. Grinning sadistically, he began his ascent towards the ponies. Many crystal ponies scattered, some curled up into a fetal position, but all of them had one thing in common; they were panicking, and hard. Twilight knew this was not good. As of right now, the only hopes of Equestria were about to crushed.
In a burst of strength she didn't know she had, she teleported all of her friends away. They landed in a disorganized pile a few blocks away. After the headache cleared from teleporting such a large group so far away, she looked and saw it. Two things, actually. One, that in her haste, she forgot her brother and Cadence. Two, that the odd bipedal thing seemed to be holding it back.
Three long metal spikes shot out of each of its hands, and started fighting it. Sombra, who was mildly annoyed at such a puny being trying to fight it, merely swatted it away. Or, that was the plan rather. It smacked the small creature, to find that it weighed a ton! Wolverine had taken a step back from the thing before him. ‘That thing sure can hit’ he thought. ‘So can I’ and with that he brought his arms back, and jumped with full force, launching himself forwards at great speeds. He found that there was no resistance when he hit what he assumed was the head of the creature that he was fighting, and found himself falling at high speeds towards the ground. He landed, and a great amount of dirt was displaced upon doing so. He felt as if something were dislodged, but he payed it no mind. He stood back up, and whatever it was had reoriented itself. Playtime was over.
It was obvious that whatever that creature was, it was a lot smarter than Applejack gave it credit for. After falling that far, it still got up, only now it looked more calm. After only a few moments of hesitation, he set off after it again, screaming as he approached. Only, after the writhing mass of black smoke tried to attack him with another pseudoped (fake foot, I compared Sombra to an amoeba :P), Wolverine ducked, and then re ducked after sending out a feint with his left. He came back around with his right leg after jumping over a mass of the smoke. The effect was instant. As soon as he came into contact with it, he felt immense pain in his leg. He landed, and looked down. It seemed his flesh was completely melted off, and all that was left was the adamantium.
Fluttershy gasped in spite of herself. That creature just lost some of its leg. ‘How was it still getting back up? Why didn't it look hurt? It only seemed to be annoyed- Oh my goodness!’ She thought to herself in rapid succession. The gasp was because, Wolverine had regenerated part of his leg.
His limp was gone, so he took a more offensive stance. Contrary to popular belief, Fluttershy was not all that timid. She herself had taken many self defense classes in flight school. She was just too scared of how hurt those around her would be if she actually… She was getting distracted. She looked back, and found herself riveted by the fighting prowess that this new creature had. Where most fighters had combat skill, this creature seemed to fight like a wild animal. Roaring like mad, and seeming to swing his arms in wide arcs, relying on claws and strength alone.
However, its effectiveness showed. Most fighters also were reluctant to fight this way because it was taxing on energy. But, again, this was not something that seemed to bother him. He just continued fighting. By now, if anyone was feeling tired, it was probably Sombra. He had used a lot of big attacks to try to stop wolverine, but he kept getting back up. He was even losing body parts after watch hit, but it never deterred him in the slightest.
“Move, he is helping us. I don’t know why, but he is giving us time to go find the crystal heart.”
“What?” everyone said in unison.
“The crystal heart… okay yeah. Not important. Spike and I will get it. You guys… just give it some back up. Maybe go get Shining and Cadence if you can. Ill be right back.” With that Twilight left, leaving all the others very confused. Before long though, they turned back around, and watched the show. Fluttershy went over and grabbed Shining and Cadence, who still weren't moving; they had gone catatonic.
Twilight had arrived at the castle, and had already made it down to the door. The door that showed you your worst fears. That door. Happy. She went inside, and saw herself at the palace. She gasped in horror. Everywhere were the entrails of her friends, and in the center was Celestia’s head. The blood painted the walls, and it was just everywhere. At Luna’s side stood the beast named Wolverine. He had his claws deep inside of Luna’s body, and It seemed like the magic was leaving her. Then the blood flowed.
Spike was standing beside Twilight, when suddenly her eyes turned green. Spike was curious, so he looked on. Then tear stains of blood appeared on her face. Spike stumbled onto his back, and crawled away. Then Twilight screamed. It was a loud, blood-curtling scream that you heard in your nightmares. Spike forgot any previous doubts. He ran over and tackled Twilight.
