Chapters A young 8 year old alicorn filly paced outside of a jeweled door which crying and groans of pain could be heard from inside. This filly had a brilliant pink coat with appeared crystal-like every now and again. Her wings were shaped different to other foals and she had four primary feathers not 3. Her wings tips were purple. Her mane was a curled group of three colors. Pink, yellow and purple that shimmered. Her eyes were a bright blue.
Then the cry of foals was heard alerting the filly back to attention. A maid came out, bowed and said.
''Princess Candace, your mother has your newborn siblings.''
''Thank you, Carlada.''
Candace walked slowly and elegantly into the grand room which was glimmered with jewels. In one part of the room was a bed. In others was three cribs, all in different colors. One cyan, one magenta and one red. On the bed was a regal white alicorn with a multi-color mane and kind purple eyes.
The mare was holding three foals. All of the foals were female and all were alicorns. One of the alicorns had a regal cyan coat, multi-colored aka rainbow mane that was messy and red/pink eyes. Her wings were flapping like mad proving she was a flier. Another one was a small red filly with a long, swirly blue mane with closed eyes that were blue.
The last of the foals was a interest to Candace, this foal had a lavender coat, a mane that reminded her of the pictures of her Aunt Luna in colors and in the fact that it was starry all over but this foal had two streaks side by side that were rose pink and a bright purple. Her eyes were the same purple as one of the streaks.
''Morning, mother.'' said Candace with respect and a bow.
''Morning, Candace. You know, your my daughter, you don't need to bow.''
''Ah...Sorry....''
''Wanna meet your sisters before they go?''
''Uh-huh...''
Celestia smiled and showed the first foal, the cyan flier to her oldest. This foal began squirming and was out flying in seconds with a rainbow trail behind her.
''Mother, her name should be Rainbow Dash.'' said Candace with a giggle.
''Your right, I was thinking about naming her Rainbow Shine but Dash works.''
''Show me the other two.''
Celestia smiled again and picked up the sleeping red filly. The filly woke up revealing her azure eyes and tilted her head to stare at her older sister, planting a mental image into her sub-consciousness.
''What's her name?''
''Well, I was thinking of Azure Sky despite she likely be the earth pony of the triplets.''
''That's cute and it fits her mane and eyes.''
Celestia smiled once more and picked up the little alicorn with the flowing, starry mane. This filly had her horn glowing with a ragged grey pony doll in her magic. This doll had pants on.
''Twilight...Since it's twilight outside. And Sparkle because of her sparkling mane and beautiful magic.'' mumbled Candace.
''Yes, a prefect name for a beautiful unicorn...''
Celestia's long regal white horn glowed, the three fillies body's also glowed. One by one they turned into a different pony-type. Rainbow, who was still flying lost her horn. Azure, who was sat on her mother's lap lost both her horn and her wings and Twilight lost her wings yet her magic worked better then most unicorns at her age.
''Candace...Can you take Twilight to a unicorn family please?''
''Sure, mother.''
Candace picked up her baby sister and flow out of the grand room. She searched cantorlot till she remembered a family of unicorns who's son she liked. That it, she would take her to Twilight Velvet and Crescent Moon and their 7 year old colt, Shining Armor. She flow carrying the young 'unicorn' in her hooves.
When she got outside of the grand Night family as it was known. She knocked on the door and left the young 'unicorn' filly on the doorstep and left.
She hovered a good distance in the air, watching as a white unicorn mare with a white and pink streaked, straght mane and lavender eyes walked out, curiously and waited till the mare saw Twilight. Velvet, the mare saw the young foal and picked her up and carried the 'unicorn' in.
Candace smiled and flew back to the castle. When she got there, her mother was up and carrying the cyan baby 'pegasus' Rainbow Dash in her arms.
''Where's Rainy going?'' asked Candace, using a nickname for her newborn sister.
''To a wonderbolt mare named Firefly and her husband Spectra Streak. Firefly is infertile and can't have foals, that's why and plus, this little dasher probably will wanna be in the wonderbolts.''
''I see, where's Azure?''
''Gone to a logcutter and his family. The poor stallion lives just outside the everfree with his wife and 9 year old daughter.''
''I see, but why there?''
''So she can value the magic of the land, as she is a 'earth pony'.''
''Your right. Rainy is going to a pegasus family in Cloudsdale to learn the magic of flight and Twi will be learning the magic of well, magic.''
''Yep, that's why I decided to do this. Your adoptive after the death of your parents, who tried so hard to protect you after the fall of the Empire and that's why, I can't let those foals end up in evil's path. A lot of evil threats the royal family and if they knew about them, then...''
''I know, mother but they'll be fine. I'm sure.''
''I hope, your right...''
Celestia passed her last daughter of a pegasus guard to take to Cloudsdale and to Firefly, before turning back to Candace.
''So where did you put Twilight?''
''With the Night family. Gifted unicorns, who will help with her magical development.''
''Good choice. And maybe, it's because you like their son, Shining Armor?''
''....''
Candace blushed and didn't speak, telling her adoptive mother that she was right.
''Come on, time for dinner.''
Candace smiled and followed her mother to the grand dining room but her thoughts were on her baby sisters and how their upbringings will be. All she could do is hope about meeting them again..
2 years had passed since Rainbow was adopted into the Dash family. She was mainly raised by her father, Spectra due to her mother, Firefly being out in wonderbolt activities. The family, though, had soon learned about Rainbow's fast flying speeds. The little foal had broke the sound barrier once and made a sonic rainboom as a young foal around 1.
The parents soon found a flight camp that was for foals around 2-5 before they went to Junior Flight Camp. There Rainbow meet a slightly taller and older cream pegasus who could have been classed as a earth pony with wings to let her stay on the clouds as this filly could not fly for the life of her.
Though Rainbow being a nice filly became friends with the young filly who she soon learned was called Fluttershy. Fluttershy sure lived up to her name, when she did make it into the air, it was only a flutter and she was seriously shy. And also she had learned that Fluttershy didn't really like talking about her parents despite Rainbow having seen her father.
Rainbow had attempted to help Flutters to fly but it didn't seem to work, either her wings were too small to hold her body or she simply had a disability about flying. Flutters had also shown a interest in birds when they flow high enough to see. That was when Rainbow figured out that Flutters might get a animal related cutie mark despite being a pegasus.
One day, just after cloud hopping class, something happened that got on Rainbow's nerve. She and Flutters had been walking to lunch when 2 colts appeared. These colts were known as Dumb-bell and Hoops.
''Hello, Rainbow Crash. Cry-baby Shy.''
Flutters hid behind her friend who clearly was annoyed.
''Rainbow Crash can't keep from crashing and Cry-baby Shy can't fly what's so ever!'' said Hoops in a loud, taunting tone which scared Flutters.
Rainbow got up and slapped the older colt across the face.
''My mommy is a wonderbolt and I could tell her about what your doing to me and Flutters, then you will never be in the wonderbolts!''
''Well, neither will you for slapping me.''
Rainbow Dash glared at them for dashing forward, hovering above the cloud with a rainbow streak behind her. She bashed into them but not before preforming a sonic rainbow adding to her power. The power pushed both her and the bullies off the cloud. Flutters ran forward, flapping her wings for speed.
''Rainbow...!?'''
She smiled when she saw the rainbow maned 'pegasus' fly into the air and land back on the cloud next to her.
6 year's later when Rainbow had become 8 and Flutters had become 9. Both were still blank flanks. The bullies were also blank flanks well only one actually and that was Hoops, Dump-bell had his cutie mark. Three basketballs. Flutters was on a piece of a cloud attempting to fly.
This time, she made it into the air and through a hoop but trip and plummeted to the 'ground' platform. She sobbed for a second till the laughing pair of bullies full over to her.
''My baby brother can fly better then you!'' said Hoops.
''LEAVE HER ALONE!'' yelled Rainbow from up-ahead and plummeted down in front of her best friend.
''Oh, yeah. What cha gonna do about it, Rainbow CRASH!''
''How about a race. If I lose, you can bully Flutters all you want. But IF I win then you have to stop.''
''Your on!''
A little while later, the group of foals stood on the racing start cloud with Flutter's on another with a flag in her mouth. The colts grinned and Hoops said.
''See you at the finish line, Crash!''
''No, let me see you when your falling through the air!''
The race soon started when Flutters lifted and dropped the flag. The foals flew so fast that the wind caused Flutters to fall from the cloud.
Rainbow bashed into Dump-bell causing him to go off-drift and into a walled cloud, dizzy. Rainbow quickly caught up to Hoops and began bashing him but didn't cause him to go off-drift.
Rainbow was soon out in front with the wind in her mane and she was grinning. Hoops caught up and hit Rainbow away causing her to growl and begin racing at high speeds, knocking Hoops off course.
She went through the final hoop, just as a boom of rainbow colors appeared with her being trailed by a rainbow streak. She looked behind her and smiled happily, just as a flash of white light appeared on her flank causing a cutie mark to appear. A three colored rainbow in the shape of a lighting bolt coming out of a cloud.
She passed the finish line, happy as can be when she saw her cutie mark there. But she looked around and didn't see her best friend anywhere.
''Fluttershy?''
That night, Rainbow made it back home to the sky castle that her parents owned with a frown on her face. Her pink coated mother walked into the hallway and saw her depressed daughter.
''Dashie? What's wrong?''
''...Well...Flutters was being bullied....so I told them to enter a race with me to see who was the fastest. I won after causing a sonic rainboom to happen, earning my cutie mark....But Flutters wasn't there...''
''I see. Why don't you go look down on the ground to see if she's there?''
''....Okay..''
''Though, wait till tomorrow morning. Your daddy's in the living room, watching TV.''
''Okay..''
The next morning, Rainbow flew from her home and down the ground. She landed in the middle of a small forest and walked into a town which was populated by mainly earth ponies but pegasi and unicorns lived there too. A party seemed to be happening.
She walked into the party and saw a filly a few years older then her smile.
''Rainbow Dash!''
The filly had a grey coat, blond mane and wonky golden eyes. She was a pegasus filly by the name of Ditzy Doo or nicknamed Derpy Hooves. She also had 7 bubbles on her flank.
''Derpy? What's happening?''
''A party is happening for a new filly who just arrived here. She's gonna be living a cottage outside of Ponyville. She's a pegasus like us with a cream coat and cotton candy mane.''
''Fluttershy!?''
''How do you know her name?''
''She's my best friend. Where is she, Derpy tell me!?''
''...At the bakery which is over there.''
Derpy pointed a cute building where the young pegasus would be. Rainy flew forward at top speed and into the bakery scaring two earth ponies foals and a young pegasus who was her best friend.
''Rainbow...Dash?''
''Fluttershy...Why are you here?''
''....Rainbow....I wanna stay here......I finally learned my talent and I don't really wanna....go back to Cloudsdale....''
She showed Rainbow her cutie mark, three pink butterflies and she flapped her wings a bit and was soon flying, shocking Rainbow who was sure that her friend would never fly.
''I..see...But you better visit!''
''I will..''
Since her adoption, Twilight had been a favorite of her family but quite a trouble child like the time, her brother, Shining Armor attempted to do his homework but she wanted to play, thus turning her coat white and her mane ablaze and burning him but luckily not the homework.
But other then that, her parents noticed something about her when they entered her into magic kindergarten at the age of 4. She was a independent foal with her only friends being her babysitter which was truly her older sister and her brother. She would only care about books and studying. Something her parents were proud out but they wanted her to know the magic of friendship too.
But the mane thing about Twilight was her abnormal magic. She would have constant magic surges even after the age of 1. Something that didn't happen often enough to be explained and the fact that when she was annoyed her magic would set her hair into flames.
One day though, her parents took her to the summer suns celebration where her true mother would raise the sun. After that, Twilight read book after book to master and attempt to control her abnormal magic. After weeks of learning and reading, her parents signed her up to Celestia's school for gifted unicorns.
She was happy at first but little did she know that to get in, she would have to hatch a dragon egg using her magic. She laughed nervously and started to attempt her magic but every spell she tried failed. But suddenly a blasted of rainbow light corrupted her magic into hatching the egg but not just that.
Her magic went out of control, turning her parents into plants and the staff into birds and also growing the newly hatched baby dragon into a full grown dragon and having sparks of random magic her and there. Her eyes had also gone white and she was having a hard time getting back in control.
But a white hoof tapped her on the shoulder, the white eyed foal looked up at the mare who had stopped her to see Celestia smiling. Her eyes slowly turned back to purple and she lost the glow that her surrounded her. The baby dragon turned back to normal and began sucking it's spiked tail.
Her parents turned back from plants and the judges groaned after being turned back to normal too. Twilight looked around and whimpered thinking she had done something wrong.
''I-I'm...s-sor..''
''Twilight Sparkle, I haven't meet a unicorn with this much magical ability.''
''Huh....''
''Would you like to be my own personal student?''
''Huh?!''
Twilight blinked, looked at her parents who smiled before jumping up into the air like she was flying.
''YES!''
''Oh and one more thing, Twilight?''
''There's more?'' asked Twilight, stilled in the air before falling.
Celestia smiled at her daughter and pointed to the lavender flank which now had a mark of a pink star overlapping a white star with 6 more mini stars around it.
''My cutie mark!''
She began hopping around yelling 'Yes! Yes! Yes!'. Everypony in the room giggled and smiled at the energetic 'unicorn'. Candace walked into after hearing the noise and saw her grinning and bouncing little sister with her cutie mark causing her to smile.
School was interesting to say but still Twilight keep to herself though she did have another friend now, her baby dragon which she had named Spike. She was motherly/sisterly to Spike and most could class her as his mother.
When Twilight turned 10, Spike could talk now being a 2 year old dragon but was mainly classed as her assistant. Spike was raised by pony society so he didn't get greed and his aging was slower then most dragons. Most two year old dragons were at their full size yet he was barely bigger then a 8 year old filly.
Twilight had also gained more control over her abnormal magic and was mainly around her teacher. She was also never late and even stayed behind after school for magic training with two other unicorns. One named Lyra Heartstrings and another named Amethyst Star.
She didn't become friends with them just worked with them silently. But she did learn that Lyra had earned her cutie mark, a lyre by playing a school play and that Amethyst Star had earned her cutie mark by helping her mom who was a jeweler.
She grow up around these two and were probably the only others who could have been classed as 'friends' but they were rarely around each other but she did know about them.
When she became 20 with Spike being 12, she had found out that Amethyst had become a mother. Her foals name was Tootsie Flute, a small unicorn filly. It wasn't a shocker when she found out that Amethyst had moved to Ponyville to raise her baby daughter. Nor was it a shocker when she heard that Lyra had a soul mate.
Though she wasn't really bothered and spent most hours in the library for a good five years till she was sent to Ponyville to learn the magic of friendship.
While in Ponyville, Twilight had adopted a young alicorn filly by the name of Nyx and learned not just the magic of friendship but parenthood too. She adored Nyx despite knowing where the young filly came from.
Nyx had a group of friends despite being shy and timid. Her friends were the Cutie Marks Crusaders or simply known as the CMC, Dinky Doo, daughter of Ditzy Doo/Derpy Hooves and Tootsie.
Twilight also had a group of friends. Applejack, the older sister of one of the CMC. Rarity, also a sister of one of the CMC. Pinkie Pie, a energetic party earth pony. Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash.
