The life of Icewing

Hi! My name's Icewing! I live in Ponyville and it's almost my 10th birthday, I'm sure Swift has a real nice surprise for me when my birthday arrives! Hehe, but I really shoundn't start with this should I? I should go back to the beginning, yeah, that'll make sense!

For starters, I really wasn't with Swift to begin with. I was under the care of Nurse Redheart at the Ponyville Hospital, they were the ones who found me first. They told me I was found alone out in the dark of the forest, alone and cold...I know that doesn't sound so good but I'm really glad they found me! Espically Redheart, she was really nice to me and everything! She got me way better in no time and I've been with her since then. Though when I met Swift..I'll tell you now!

It was a nice sunny day and I was walking around Ponyville, I'm allowed to go out when she's busy so I don't get lonely or bored while all the nurses gallop around working. She also gives me bits to spend on a treat to get for myself! I always go to the Sugar Cube Corner. If you didn't know, Pinkie Pie is the one who works there! She's always so funny and cheers everypony up when there down or upset. She makes the best sweets and treats ever!

"Hi Icewing! It's good seeing you here again, you come here for the usual?" She'd smile happily and giggle.

"Yup!" I replied, smiling back just the same.

"Wait right here, I'll be back with it as soon as I can!" She hoped into the kitchen behind the counter as I waited patiently. That's when I saw him come into the Sweet Shop, Swift! Though at the time I really didn't know him that well. He walked up to the counter and looked down at me with a calm smile.

"Aw, did you beat me to first served today kid?" He had chuckled.

"A-huh, sorry!" I giggled "I've never seen you before?"

"Likewise to you. My names Swift Wind, and you are?"

"I'm Icewing! It's nice to meet you!"

He smiled and had playfully ruffled my mane "You too!"

At that time, Pinkie had come back into the room behind the counter and passed me my favorite, muffins!

"Here you go, enjoooy!"

I turned and left the SCC with the bag of muffins held in my mouth with a cheerful look, giving Swift a wave goodbye before I did "I wonder if I'll meet him again..?" I thought to myself. I headed over to the park and lied down on one of the benches, happily eating away at the muffins in the bag. They always filled me up, they were the best! Espically when Pinkie had made them!

And that's when I met...ugh...Diamond Tiara. She's so mean to me, and I can't believe I fell for..well you'll see.

She walked up to me and raised an eyebrow at me, as if I did something wrong "Um, hello? I think I was sitting there Hospital Girl" She smugly said, huffing a bit. Though, I didn't really hear her because I was too busy eating..hehe, I get carried away eating muffins.

"Hey! Listen to me!" She raised her voice

"Hm?" I muffled, poking my head up and look at her, my mouth full with a muffin or two, crumbs covering my mouth.

"Ugh..you look stupid" She rolled her eyes "I told you to move."

That's when her friend, Silver Spoon, walked up beside Diamond "Yeah! Are you deaf or something?"

"Sorry..I didn't see that you were here. But there's plenty of room on the bench y'know?"

"I don't share seats with anypony but Silver"

I sighed in irritation, she was really getting on my nerves so I just went back to eating my muffins and hoped she'd clear off or something. She growled lowly but..

"Diamond..!" Silver said to her "Come here a second..." Diamond finally walked away with her friend for a moment. I giggled to myself and kept eating away, but to my disliking she came back.

"Hey, what's your name? I.." she gritted the next bit "am sorry about how I acted. I only wanted to share something with you!" She and her friend smiled innocently at me. I looked back at them and raised an eyebrow, "She's sure persistent..sheez.." I then spoke up.

"What is it you want to share?" I tilted my head. I really shouldn't of become so interested.

"Well, I think you'll like it! We heard a really cool rumor that you might like to go find!" I could tell she was smirking a little, but I payed no attention. She went on, "In Froggybottom bog, there's a treasure chest there! You could become really rich if you find it!" She smirked wider.

"Really?!"

Silver and Diamond nodding in unison, then went back to smiling innocently

"Cool!" I said, filled with joy. "An adventure and treasure, what could be more fun!" I thought to myself..though I know now that's not really the case. I immediately sprinted off towards the Everfree, though I skidded to a halt and went back for my bag of muffins, then galloped off to the Bog.

Later that evening, I barely noticed time fly by as I galloped around the bog searching fruitless for something that didn't even exist. My hooves were all muddy and my mane was a little in a mess from going through bushes too. I sighed and sat down on the ground, rubbing the back of my head. "Darn..nothing..I can't believe I fell for that. Maybe I should j-.." My thoughts were cut off when the nearby mud lake started shaking and crashing around. The area was quickly covered in steam and smoke, I started coughing and got up.

"W-What's going on..?!" I thought aloud.

Suddenly a felt a huge huff blow against my back and a loud snort. I froze in fright and slowly looked back to see...a huge hydra head..! I yelled out in fright and ran out of the way just before it chomped down on the ground. I immediately started running into the forest in a random direction, panicking and my eyes wide in fright.

I yelled out over and over for somepony to help me as the giant lumbering beast chased behind me. It was slow, but with how big of steps it was taking and me only being small, I'm pretty sure it was going to catch up soon! One of it's heads was about to get me for good but something swooped by and picked me up! It was!

"Hey Icewing, just flying by I suppose..!" Swift had snickered, smirking and flying back to town "What in the blazes were you doing in that swamp?" He asked me.

"...Treasure...?" I squeed. He looked at me a little unamused, I know, but I was so glad he saved me!

He rolled his eyes "That's no excuse Ice, I'm lucky I heard you while I was doing wheather duty, or you'd be Hydra food by now. Now really, why were you in there?"

"It's Diamond Tiara's fault..she told me there was treasure in there.." I sighed.

"Ah...Well, where do you live? It's getting pretty late."

"The hospital. Can you tell them I was with you so I don't get in trouble?"

He winked at me, "I'll see what I can do, so your mother or father works there?"

"Actually..they just look after me, they always have, they found me alone in the forest when I was younger so..I don't really have parents."

He looked away and felt guilty for a moment, as if he regretted asking me that question "Ooh...well...never mind, I won't go on..."

Well that was that, I met Swift for the first time and he was really nice, plus he saved me! Oh wait, I already mentioned that, woopsie! Well, in any case, I'll tell you what happened at the Hospital another time!
