Basic History of Equestria

The first kingdoms where one of grandeur. From the dragons to the griffons to even the lands far from Equestria, nearly each race had a kingdom of some sort. The dragon kingdom was far to the south across the great bearing ocean and the griffons far to the north. The earth ponies had their own kingdom and so did the pagasi and unicorns. The ponies where now like what we saw today and each wanted to find their own purpose in life by gaining their new found cutie mark. A gift from the empress herself as she desired that every pony had a place in the workings of the world. The alicorns where beginning to represent what their special purpose was and so was all other ponies alike. Each one doing what they did best. The earth ponies did their part in gathering food and harvesting the land. They where important, if not just as more important than the other ponies. They where the best at what they did. The unicorns where elegant and graceful and continued their search form knowledge and the unknown. Wanting to discover wisdom and gain. The pegasi made their home in the clouds and wanted to unite as one. In order of the Pegasus king, the pegasi united from all over Equestria to make a new found city. That city would soon be where weather is made in all of Equestria and the first rainbows. Where the legend of the sonic rainboom  originated and all pegasi lived as one.

That city we know even 'till this day as beautiful Cloudsdale. Saddle Arabia  was one of ancient customs and traditions and horses abound there. While the sun scorched the land the inhabitants where welcomed in the sunlit sand. They made their home near oasis and flowing rivers. Many visitors did not come there as expected but welcomed all those who did in open arms. The Crystal Empire was located north near the crystal mountains. Many ponies have traveled there as crystals and gems of all types could be found and mined. The land sparkled and was home to the alicorn king who will carry down the family line. The ponies where no different and as thanks from the king to his loyal subjects, bestowed upon them crystal pelts of sparkling colors. Everfree forest was a welcoming place and was not filled with the dangers that it had now. Things where done differently there as animals fended for themselves and weather came and go and clouds moved about without help. Flowers of different arrays bloomed and birds of all types could be found. Manehatten wasn't much as it is now and steadily grew towards a developed city. Now the land of Equestria was taking shape and was beginning to shape itself into what it is now today but many more years will come before it will become recognizable.

For everything good there is bad, for everything nice there is ugly, and for everything bad there is good. The alicorns knew this all to well and knew that, though they where good now, evil and ugliness lurked only around the corner. There will be bad in the world as no world or thing is free from it. As long as there is free will, people, creatures, and ponies alike will abuse it. There was nothing to protect themselves from this evil. Nothing to guard the ponies from a bigger threat. The alicorns, being the strongest of all the creatures needed something to protect their subjects. They found it their duty as the ones who controlled the world to also be it's protectors. They all pinched in and decided on the creation of artifacts that will become the tools needed to defeat what ever came along from this day to onward. The selected alicorns set out and gathered gems suitable to withholding magic and gathered together in a council. They also needed a place to store what will become of these powerful gems and found a tree suitable in the far lands to withhold them. Together they imbued their magic into them. The alicorn who had ordained the search for these gems and the one who also found the tree placed them into the wide spread branches. The alicorn did not just want anyone to control these strong gems and hid and secured the location of where they where at. Only a select few will be able to wield these gems but soon, later in history they will have magic far greater than what they have now. The tree would soon disappear into myth and become a great symbol of the destinies of the select few who where lucky. Right now it was tree, will hidden, that contained a strong power.
