Basic History of Equestria

"Absolute power corrupts."

The first rulers where odd ones indeed and would be the first to kick off the start of alicorns being refereed to as nobility and most of all royalty. The ruling family of Equestria had borne two young fillies that would follow in their footsteps and where the direct ancestors of Celestia and Luna. Twins by the name of Solis and Nix who was oddly born without wings. Solis was named after the sun. She was thick and very large. Taller and bigger than most ponies or stallions. She was cream colored and had a mane of multiple colors of the sun. Black, gold, red, orange, and yellow.  Nix was named after the snow and was beautiful and graceful. She was white coated and had a mane made up of the colors of the snow. Blue, silver, purple and light blue was her and she was not as bulky nor as thick as her sister. When their parents gave up the throne they went on to rule over Equestria. One can argue however that they didn't have the benevolent attitude like Celestia and Luna but none would argue that as ancient rulers of Equestria by scholars they where certainly strong. Solis took her title as royalty seriously and demanded to be called 'her majesty' at all times. She was short tempered and nearly unapproachable to her subjects. She took her job seriously. Nix was the polar opposite and did not flaunt her royal status. She was calm, friendly at times and was popular with the unicorns. She was considered the most beautiful out of the two.

Together they ruled over the land and with that made it so that every kingdom worked their part. The sisters could care less about harmony, what they wanted was peace. They wanted the kingdoms and such to at the least tolerate each other and shall anything act up they won't hesitate to punish even the entire kingdom and it's populace. Innocent or guilty. Like Equestria is today,the unicorns helped when needed, pegasi controlled the weather and earth ponies cultivated the land. They rarely socialized at each other unless it was for gatherings. Solis begun the summer and the autumn and her sister Nix begun the winter and the spring but soon will their reign be cut short. Nix was being shunned and did not get the appreciation that her sister had long flaunted and bathed in. Nix begun to lock herself in her chambers and worked upon her fun loving crafts. It was Nix who made the tradition of creating a snowman and snow angel and the idea of Winter wrap up but much of what she had to do in history was gone. The more her sister Solis tried to indulge her into the affairs of her fellow pupils the more she ended up indulging herself. Nix only came out to nonetheless do her duty to begin the seasons of winter and spring. One day Solis came to find out that the snow refused to give way and knew that if it didn't subside it would create a disaster. Even though the sun held high in the sky the snow would not melt. Solis knew only one person who could do such a thing and that was her sister. Solis confronted her sister and pleaded and threatened her sister to end the winter now but she refused. Solis used her own magic, as difficult as it was, to rid the land of the sun but when Nix heard of this she grew outraged. She promised to keep the land in eternal cold and grew even bitter towards her sibling. Solis would have none of the nonsense and banished her sister to the badlands. A place so hospitable that not even water could flow there.

Though Nix was banished, she had a league of faithful followers. They followed her and together with her magic made the Badlands inhabitable for her ponies. The land was now split into two. The Eastern kingdom where Nix ruled the winter and spring and the Western Kingdom where Solis ruled the summer and Autumn. But the bitterness between the sisters will only grow more. Solis grew angered with the truth that her kingdom had been split into two. She had the birthright to rule the entire kingdom.She should be able to rule everything in it. She wanted what was hers back and she was going to get it back. Solis gathered her faithful subjects and invaded her sisters kingdom but Nix was prepared and with her ponies attacked back. History records that when the sisters fought the sisters where keened on destroying one another. The bitter hatred they had was so great that the fight lasted for three days. Even after their soldiers succumbed to their injuries. Solis and Nix used their powers to its full extent and attacked one another gruesomely. Fighting over the throne and right to control  the land. The battle between them alone was one of great bloodshed. Nix stabbing Solis with her horn multiple times or Solis trying to literally burn her sister. Only when they have stopped and looked at what they had done would they truly see the damage. When they where through and exhausted from their battled, Solis and Nix looked upon the wreckage

they had caused. Their ponies lied injured and badly hurt and their kingdoms where harmed. The damage Ponies that had nothing to do with the battle was injured and and hurt. Houses where burnt and set ablaze and wrecked.

Entire fields where wiped out and turned to black ash. Most of Equestria could no longer be recognized. Kingdoms that had nothing to do with the fight became the unfortunate victims of the sisters rage. Nothing the sisters could do could make up for the damage they had caused. Solis and Nix knew the damage was probably greater but did not want to think about the idea that they had taken the lives of their own subjects. Solis and Nix hung thier heads down low and silently gazed upon the destruction. Even as so much as shedding tears from thier eyes.Using their earth pony and unicorn magic they restored the land to its lush green state and grandeur but it had caused them greatly of their earth pony and unicorn magic. The sisters from that day kept their distance and ruled in greater benevolence and love though the land was still split. The sisters later passed away at the young alicorn age of  five hundred. Despite what they did their passing would be missed and sadly would hurt. The kingdoms of unicorns and pegasi and earth ponies would soon begin to inherit that bitter hatred as well. Towards each other.
