A few hours later, Fluttershy was in more active labor. She continued to handle the contractions as they became stronger and closer together. As she was recovering from one, she let out yet another deep breath and looked at Mac. Mac took a cloth and wiped the sweat from her head. He was still smiling and trying to keep her relaxed.
The doctor came back in to check. “How are things going?” he asked.
Fluttershy looked at the doctor with a shy and slightly scared expression and whispered. “As expected so far.”
The doctor checked her. “Okay, you are at four now.”
Fluttershy had her eyes go wide as she yelled her impatience “Only four? This will take forever!”
Mac hugged her. “It’s okay Flutter; I will be with you till the end.”
“We could break your water to help dilation.” Redheart offered.
Flutter shook her head and was whispering yet again. “No, I want this to be natural. I will just have to bear with it.”
The doctor nodded. “I suggest you walk around for a bit Mrs. Fluttershy.”
Fluttershy immediately responded. “Help me up please, Mac.” The doctor and Mac helped her up. Mac proceeded to help her walk around the hospital. After around forty minutes, the came across the nursery and Fluttershy wanted to look at the foals. “Awwww….” Flutter said.
“They’re cute and little just like ours will be,” Mac said.
“Yes, like ours will be.” she said.
“Soon.” he said while rubbing her back. “How is it going?”
“I keep- UGH,” she grunted as another contraction hit while she leaned into him.
Mac was kissing her neck again as some sort of gesture to try and comfort her. “It’s ok. Just breathe like before, hooo,hooo,hooo,hooo. Imagine yourself in the apple grove again. ”
Fluttershy once again mimicked his breathing. She was trying to imagine it, but it was hard now. She screamed a bit as the pain jumped. This contraction was sharp.
“You are closer Flutter,” Mac said as he still rubbed her back.
She whimpered from the pain, now a constant dull throb. “Please, I want to go back to the room..” She hugged Mac as she said this. He picked her up and lay her on his back as they went back to the room. He helped her back into the bed. “Wow, I didn’t know you were that strong.”
“Eeyup,” Mac responded.
He returned to rubbing her belly. “Soon Flutter,” he said as he kissed her again.
Fluttershy returned his kiss, while stroking his mane. “You know I can’t resist when you do that,” she said.
“I know Flutter, and you know I can’t resist a cute mare like you.” He said as he was kissing her and rubbing her back.
“How about I stand and walk around the room?” Fluttershy asked.
“Only if you feel up to it,” Mac responded.
She nodded, her hooves on her belly. “Wonder if the doctor should check again. No, it’s only been about a half hour.”
“It is up to you whether you want me to help you up so you can walk around.”
Fluttershy closed her eyes. “I think I am going to try and rest, my legs are tired.”
Mac was massaging her legs. “Sleep sounds like a good idea. It will help you to keep your strength up.” She smiled at how kind Mac was being.
9 minutes later, there was focus on Fluttershy’s face. “It is coming again,” She said, whimpering and waving a hoof around to indicate she needed him to hold it.
Mac was by her side in an instant, kissing her cheek and holding her hoof. “Breathe through this. I am here for you.”
Flutter focused on his hoof holding her, trying to take the focus off the pain. “hooo,hooo,hooo,hooo AAAAAA…” she groaned as the pain peaked again.
She was grinding her teeth as she cried a little bit. “Owwww. nnng, It’s going down.”
Mac rubbed her back with a free hoof. “You can do this Flutter, I know it.” He nuzzled her. “It will be over soon.”
The contraction started to slow and then was no more. Flutter sighed and looked at Mac. “I would be a wreck now without you,” She said as tears were running down her cheek.
Mac wiped the tears from her face with his hooves, smiling at her. “You are doing great. You are going to make it through this,” he said softly as he was rubbing her back.
She didn’t respond and closed her eyes to try and rest. “Do you remember the night we conceived Mac?”
“You mean the romantic dinner, then the bath I ran for you, then the bed covered in rose petals, all of that being candlelit?” Mac responded trying to help her think of the pleasant memories.
She nodded, her eyes closed. “I will never forget that night. How you took loving care of me, how you made me feel special and beautiful, and how you made love to me,” She said. “This foal began from my love for you.”
“Everything to this day was out of love, and still is.” Mac responded.
Flutter was starting to fall asleep as the doctor came in. “How are we doing?”
Mac spoke, ”She seems to be in pain, but I know she can work through it.”
“You still want to go natural?” the doctors asked
“Yes, I can do this.” she whispered smiling.
Mac continued to rub her back. “I am proud of you.”
The doctor nodded and looked at the fetal monitor. “The foal’s heart rate looks good, and you are contracting regularly. Can’t ask for anything more,” He said.
“The heart is a strong as its mother’s,” Mac said.
“Want me to check you?” He asked Fluttershy. She nodded.
“Okay, five centimeters.”
She whispered. “Foals take a while I guess.”
Mac was still rubbing her. “They do indeed.”
“Anything else?” the doctor asked.
Mac looked to Fluttershy who just shook her head. “Just some alone time,” She whispered.
“They are almost 8 minutes apart and seem to be getting stronger.”
Mac grinned and leaned in. “I love you no matter what,” he said as he moved to kiss her.
“Please, not in front of the doctor,” she whispered.
“I want the whole of Equestrian to know the love I have for you and the foal.” Mac remarked as he kissed her again.
The doctor chuckled a bit. “Touching and kissing is a good thing during labor.”
“I think the little one wants to meet his daddy,” She said as she moved a hoof to her stomach.
“I can’t wait,” he said rubbing her belly.
The foal kicked and caused her stomach to shake. “Must have a lot of your blood in it Mac.” She whispered.
“That isn’t good,” he said
“How isn’t that good?” she whispered.
“It will be way too eager to start bucking in the apple orchards,” Mac replied.
“It would be an apple to the core then huh.” She whispered.
“If you need something, hit the call button,” the doctor said as he left.
They spent a few minutes with him comforting and loving her before she started to pant again. Mac held her hoof. “Breathe, you can do this.”
In through her nose and out through her mouth she breathed as she had a look of pain on her face. “NNNNNNG” Flutter moaned.
“It’s ok”, Mac said as he kissed her and tried to move her mind off of the pain. “I’m here.”
“K…kiss me,” She said, wanting to squeeze his hoof so hard.
He kissed her again right on the lips. “I know you can do this, you have to be strong for the foal.” She tried to kiss him back, but her mind was on the pain. His touch reminded her he was with her to the end… why she loved him. Mac started to run his tongue over her lips. “Just breathe, and let your body do the work.”
She screamed lightly as the pain was peaking again. “Help me sit up,” she said feeling the need.
Mac pulled her upright. “I’m here for you.” She turned so that her legs were off the bed and tried to work through the pain. He was rubbing her back still. “Try rocking back and forth.” She did just that, and it took her mind off the pain somewhat. The contraction started to cease. “Want to try being in a warm shower?”
“Why a warm shower?” she said confused.
“Maybe the warmth will help with contractions.” Mac said
“I will try anything to rid me of the pain,” she said.
“Want to walk around again?” Mac asked.
Fluttershy nodded and got up with Mac’s help “Can we stay in the room?”
“Whatever you want,” He said as he helped her walk and stayed really close in case she fell.

Fluttershy was stuck to her husband's side like she feared falling over. She stuck it through several more contractions before she needed relief. “Please, get me to the shower,” she said sounding desperate. He helped her to the shower and turned it on checking for temperature before helping her under the flow.
His member started to poke out of its sheath as it was hardening. “Sorry Flutter, but you always turn me on like this.” He said as he moved in to kiss her.
She kissed him right back, and pulled him to her, holding him as close as she could. The Foal seemed to have settled down for the moment.
“My god, you made me so big.” Fluttershy mused, looking at her belly between them.
“But that doesn’t make you any less beautiful,” he said as he groped her plot.
Fluttershy giggled nervously. “Oh um… I know how much you like watching me get bigger,” she said as she pressed her belly to him.
“I did, but I always love watching you,” he said holding her close. “Flutter, my love of you and our foal knows no bounds.”
She turned around and moved his hooves to her belly. “We love you too.” She said as she kissed him again. Mac rubbed her belly ass he returned the kiss.

Fluttershy was in the shower with Mac, letting the water soothe her muscles while she rocked back and forth slightly. She gasped as her belly tightened. “Breathe, you can do this,” Mac whispered as he moved her so she was more under the water than him.
The water did help with the increasing pain, but she was still whimpering, her legs shaking. “hooo,hooo,hooo,hooo NNNNG…”
Mac pulled over the shower chair. “Sit if you need,” he said.
Flutter shook her head and hugged Mac close. “NNNNG OWWW this one hurts…” One hoof rubbed her belly, and the other looked for any part of Mac she could rest it on.
Mac took her hoof in his as he was rubbing her back. “Do you want to lie down, walk again or stay here?”
Fluttershy couldn’t respond in words as she was grinding her teeth and hissing, the contraction peaking. She pulled her head back and screamed in pain.
Mac nuzzled her face. “Do whatever you need to help you get through the pain.”
She was sniffling, a tear running down her face as she buried herself in Mac. She felt she was getting control of the contractions, but this one was the worst yet. She sank down, trusting Mac was there to hold her. He rocked her back and forth while humming hoping it would help her relax. The contraction’s peak was breaking slowly. This left Fluttershy visibly shaken, but at least she was making progress. She smiled at her husband wearily through the tears. “Our foal will be here soon.”
Sensing the shower wasn’t the best option; he turned the water off and carefully helped her dry off. He put her onto his back and lay her back down onto the bed, singing as he would to the foal.
She loved his affection. “You are too good to me.”
“You deserve every bit of it,” he said as he kissed her.
She kissed Mac back as the foal stirred a bit. “Patience little one, it won’t be too much longer.”
“Yes, you will soon be in our arms,” Mac said as he smiled and kissed her.
She laughed a bit and kissed Mac back as the foal stirred a bit. “The foal sure has some Apple blood in it, and I am really counting on you to hold me when it’s time.
Mac nodded. “You know I will always be there to help you.”
“Going to be stretched thin, quite scary,” she said stroking her belly.
“Don’t worry, you will be fine.” He said as he kissed her. She leaned into him still scared, but had faith he would keep her focused. “Relax Flutter, and save your strength for labor.”
The doctor returned. “Thought I heard some screaming, everything okay?”
Mac looked at Fluttershy. “The contractions are getting stronger.”
“That means it’s moving right along. Do you want me to check again?” Fluttershy nodded shyly and moved her legs out of the way. The doctor checked. “You are at about five and a half centimeters.”
“Barely halfway, and it already hurts this much?” Flutter moaned.
“You are over half way,” Mac said looking at her.
“Um little one, if you wouldn’t mind could you please come out.” Fluttershy pleaded to her stomach.
The way she spoke always made him chuckle. “I bet it’s a warm and safe place.”
Fluttershy poked her belly and screamed as the pain started again. “Nnnng, oh I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it.” She said quietly as she felt for Mac’s hoof.
“You are doing great honey, breathe,” Mac said as he held her hoof.
The doctor moved to her side and placed a hoof on her shoulder. “Breathe deep and listen to your husband.”
Fluttershy started to use her Lamaze breathing again, but this contraction peaked faster than she was ready for. She screamed and cried as she kept thinking about Mac’s hooves holding her.
“Breathe through it.” Mac whispered as he was nuzzling her. She was squirming as the contraction peaked, drawing another scream from her as she wanted to squeeze his hoof harder to let him know she needed him. “I am here for you flutter, no matter what you need,” He reassured her. “You are doing amazing.”
She was panting as the pain started to fade. She wiped her forehead. “Can we um… walk more?”
“I won’t rush you into it, so only if you feel up to it.” Mac responded.
Fluttershy nodded and tried to calm down. “It seemed to go faster when I was walking. Please help me up.” She said very insistently. Mac obeyed and supported her as she walked around.

She walked a bit slower over the next half hour as the contractions were tiring her out. She never let go of Mac’s hoof. “NNNg, this is harder than I expected.”
“I know it is, but you can do it Flutter,” Mac said as he held her close.
She stared ahead absentmindedly, her attention focused elsewhere. “I don’t know…”
Mac led her back to the nursery. “Look at the foals,” he said.
Flutter smiled “Oooh they are sooo cute….”
“Soon enough our foal will be here.” He said kissing her. She nodded, looking at the foals.
She would have kept looking at them for hours, but the pain in her belly reminded her why she was up and walking. She leaned into Mac, wrapping her hooves around him tight as she could as her womb contracted. Mac hugged her close, rubbing her back while kissing her trying to be comforting. Mac had helped her calm down a bit. She didn’t scream as the contraction worsened, but she was grumbling out of pain and rocking from side to side as he kissed her. He continued to kiss her, rub her back, and help her rock to let her know he was there for her. Fluttershy melted in Mac’s arms as the pain peaked. She absentmindedly let one of her hoofs wander off of Mac’s back to right under his tail. This was a sensitive area for him. His leg twitched and he moaned a bit from the pleasure, but he kept focused on her as he continued the kiss. She kept pressing on the spot unintentionally as she weathered the contraction. She mingled her tongue with Mac’s. She felt a pop within her and a clear liquid started to run down her legs.
“I had better get you back to the room.” As they walked back, the contractions seemed to be taking a break. Mac let a nurse know that Flutter’s water had broken before they returned to her room. “We should stay in the room now that your water has broken. You want me to help you lie down again, or do you want to walk around the room?”
Flutter looked at the bed. “I don’t know that I ever want to get in that bed, standing helps even if it wears me out. She rubbed her stomach with her hooves. “This is going to get tough and I might beg them for an epidural.”
“I won’t allow them to.” Mac said with certainty as he walked around the room with her.
“They might give it to me even if you say no… and I um would rather you didn’t fight with them and get taken away from me.” She stared at him. “I need a way to cope with the pain better.”
“They will not give you an epidural, or I’ll raise hell. We told them together no.”
“I read up on this, Mac. If I say I want it they can give it to me no matter what you or I said earlier. Listen, we…. AAAAHH!” She cried, her entire weight on him.
He resumed kissing her and rubbing her back, trying to comfort her. “Breathe Flutter. Hooo,hooo,hooo,hooo….” Fluttershy was continuing to kiss him as she contracting. Now that her water had broken, it hurt like hell. It wasn’t just her belly now, but also her crotch area caused by the pressure of the foal on her unopened cervix. “Just breathe Flutter,” He whispered.
She moved both her hooves to her belly as she started moving slowly, but in no real direction. She had no idea why she was doing it, but would later figure her body had no idea what to do to help her cope. Mac followed her to help if needed. “Try being on all fours on the bed,” he said. Fluttershy moved to the bed and tried to do that, but the pain was too much. She looked at Mac, unable to speak. Mac helped move her onto the bed and wiped her face of sweat, while rubbing her back again.
Fluttershy was on all fours and rocking again. The position helped a bit…it hurt like hell, but with Mac’s touch she could handle it. The contraction left Fluttershy crumpled as she looked at Mac.
“…..Thirsty.”
He poured her a glass of water and put the straw towards her lips as he continued to rub her back. She drank in her slumped position trying to recover her strength. “Thanks,” she said pushing the glass away.
Mac set the glass on the table. “Anything for you,” He said holding her comfortingly. This would allow her to rest and conserve her energy.
Fluttershy was sweating as the contraction ended. She shook slightly to try and shake off some of the sweat “It’s hot in here Mac,” she whined. He ducked into the bathroom getting a towel nice and wet with cold water to wipe her body with. She sighed and smiled as he lovingly wiped her body with the towel. “I must look silly sweating as I am.”
He shook his head no. “You look beautiful.” She did not answer, but was relieved by Mac’s support. She was resting while she had the choice. “I love you Fluttershy,” She smiled as Mac was supporting her.

Fluttershy remained on all fours for about another hour as she labored harder. Mac’s constant reassurance had strengthened Fluttershy’s resolve. He never failed to help keep her spirits up. As the nine and a half hour mark passed, the doctor came back in to see Fluttershy sitting with her legs over the bed, leaning against Mac. “Is this a bad time?” he asked.
Mac looked over to the doctor. “She’s having a contraction,” he said before returning full attention to Fluttershy. “It’s okay, I know it’s hard, but you can do it,” he said as he kissed her. The doctor looked at Fluttershy’s chart, allowing Mac to continue to comfort her. She breathed deeply as her pain began to fade. “You are doing great, Flutter.” He said as he kissed her again.
She let out a long and nice sigh as the contraction left her and she was still staring at Mac. Seeing she was free of pain for the moment, the doctor put on gloves. “Could you please lie back for me? That would make it easier for me to check you.” With the help of Mac she lay on her back.
Mac smiled and moved his head so he was looking at her. “You look wonderful Flutter,” he said as he was rubbing his mouth against hers lovingly.
The doctor frowned as he checked her. “Hmmm…. You are at a little over seven centimeters. First foals take a while, but I would like to speed this up.” Fluttershy looked at Mac nervously. Sensing the nervousness he continued. “There is no danger to the foal, but I think we should try a bit of Pitocin.” Fluttershy looked at Mac again, waiting for him to do something.
Mac responded angrily. “Doctor, you know when we came in here Fluttershy and I wanted to do this without medication and I want it kept that way as does my wife. If it isn’t necessary, I hope you respect that.”
The doctor stepped back a bit startled. “I understand that, but perhaps we should speak outside.”
Fluttershy nodded to Mac as she kissed him. “Don’t be too long.” He followed the doctor out of the room.
The doctor closed the door and faced Mac. “Mr. Apple, I know you and your wife want a natural birth, but I would feel more comfortable if we had her on a little Pitocin. Not much, but a little to help things along.”
He shook his head and looked angry. “No doctor, that is not all right. I promised to keep with her wishes and not allow medicine unless absolutely necessary. I am not trying to make your job difficult, but that is her wish.”
The doctor nodded looking slightly worried. “I can’t force you, but she will really need you.”
Mac nodded. “I will be there for her and won’t force her into anything.”
The doctor nodded again. “I get that, but the pain might make her change her mind. If she feels she can’t take it and nothing seems to work, there is one thing that can help.”
Mac spoke angrily again. “There are only two ways she is getting drugs. Either she comes down with a bad fever or the foal is in danger.”
The doctor shook his head again. “I don’t mean a drug, I mean something for comfort. I really shouldn’t say this, but I want to see her give birth naturally if that is what she really wants.”
Mag nodded. “Thanks doctor, but I need to get back to her.” He turned around to leave.
The doctor touched Mac. “I need to tell you what it is, and only you should do it.” He whispered into Mac’s ear.
Mac’s eyes widened and looked at the doctor for confirmation of what he thought he heard. He received a nod. “I will try it thanks.” He returned to Fluttershy’s side smiling. “How are you feeling?”
She held a hoof out to him. “Help me sit up so I can give you a hug,” she said.
He obeyed and had her sitting upright again; her legs hanging off the bed. “The doctor gave me an idea on how to help you with the pain.”
Fluttershy looked at him, slouched forward a bit in pain. “What is it?”
He whispered in her ear. “I please you with my hoof.”
Her head tilted sideways in confusion. “You mean…. you know… that?”
“The doctor said it would help.”
Her face went red as she knew he was serious. She rubbed her belly for a while, too embarrassed to speak. “Oh…um… isn’t it a little awkward here with the nurse and the doctor able to come in at any moment. Oh…um… would you even want to?”
Mac just nodded. “I would do anything for you.”
Fluttershy was still blushing as she smiled. “Oh…um… I… don’t….know… Can we keep it simple and non-embarrassing for as long as possible? You can kiss and touch me, but no um…you know, unless I need it.”
Mac nodded as he helped her rock back and forth. “Anything you want,” He said as he helped her rock while humming a comforting song.
His song helped her relax for about 5 minutes until another contraction was building. She sat upright from the bed’s head and pulled him down while moaning.
“Breathe Flutter, you can do this,” He said kissing her neck and continuing the soft melody.
Maybe it was the fact that Macintosh, the stallion she loved, was close to her, maybe the thought this would help, but the moment he kissed her she relaxed. “Please don’t sing, just kiss me.” She whimpered as the pain built. Mac did as asked and kissed her on the lips. She let him kiss her deeply as he wanted, moaning as his tongue probed her mouth. Her body was still relaxed even when the pain peaked. As the contraction was winding down, she was kissing him because she loved him, because she needed him. As the contraction ended, she pulled away from Mac’s mouth smiling. “I don’t know if I have ever been more grateful to you than right now.”
Mac hugged her as best he could. “I am grateful to have a mare like you in my life,” he whispered to her.
Flutter moved onto her side so Mac could spoon her and he did just that. “I never thought we would be able to do this while I was in labor.”
Mac rubbed her belly. “If it helps you Flutter, than we are going to do it.”
Fluttershy leaned into him, kissing him as they waited. It was only about five minutes until the next contraction started, and as she screamed she kissed him again. Mac kissed her back and rubbed her belly. She kissed back, but had to pull away to yelp as the foal pressed hard against her. “Oh…uh… if you wouldn’t mind Mac, could you, touch me,” she whimpered.
“Whatever you need.” The hoof rubbing her belly moved down and gently touched her marehood. He waited for a reaction from her, not wanting her to be uncomfortable.
She shook her head. “Please touch my teats,” She begged. Mac’s free hoof moved to one of his hooves to a teat, not doing anything without her saying so as he continued to hoof her sex. He pressed his hoof into her folds, hopeful he could relieve more of her pain. Fluttershy thought about it, opening her mouth as if to speak, but just pulled Mac into yet another kiss. She grabbed the hoof on her teats and moved it to her marehood. With those actions she told him to touch her there. She ground her sex into his hoof as the pain worsened. She felt she was entering the transition phase, when labor would be the most intense and it was getting there.
“You can do this Flutter,” Mac whispered as he continued to stroke her. She let out a successive series of screams. The long and hard contractions caused her belly to tighten like a vice. Kissing and touching wouldn’t keep the pain at bay for long now, and she was really getting tired. “Keep breathing, you can do this.”
She didn’t answer him, and instead looked for somewhere she could push her hoof into. “Aaaah…. H…he…help…” she pleaded. Mac slipped the hoof in a little further worried he couldn’t help her. She was writhing in pain as she was slumped forward. Her scream became louder as the contraction started to peak.
“Breathe Flutter breathe,” Mac said holding her close and kissing her neck. Fluttershy tried her hardest, but was only able to breathe shakily, letting a scream loose into Mac’s fur. Tears were really flowing now. “Is there anything I can do for you,” Mac said.
“Nnnng! I’d…don’t kn… Aaaaugh!” she screamed, pushing her hoof hard into his fur. She cried, not even caring anymore that it was so openly as the contraction ebbed. This one was hell, and she must’ve be around nine centimeters by now.
“Flutter, I know how hard this is on you and if you want something for the pain I will understand. You have done well, but you have been laboring so long and I hate to see you in pain, so if you want drugs….”
She shook her head absolutely no. “Don’t give up on me; I can’t do it, even with drugs, if you give up on me.”
Mac nodded and smiled seeing that his idea worked. “That is the Fluttershy I know. Let’s have you checked. She nodded and he pressed the call button.
The doctor came into the room to see Fluttershy already in the position so he could check her. Her fur was soaked in sweat and she was really out of breath. He checked her quickly trying to avoid tiring her more. “You are at a little over 8 cm. Her body slumped almost defeated.
Mac kissed her. “We’re almost there, don’t give up now.” Mac looked at the doctor desperately. “Is there anything else that can be done for her aside from drugs?”
Fluttershy had a look of desperation on her face too. “Please, I will do anything aside from drugs.”
“Well, there is getting in the tub,” the doctor said.
Mac held Fluttershy close as he rubbed her back. “Do you think the water would help with the pressure?”
The doctor nodded yes. “I will run the water,” he said as he left the room.
Fluttershy held onto Mac very weakly. “Thank you Mac,” She said very weakly.
Mac kissed her. “You’re welcome.”
The sound of water cascading into a tub filled the room as the doctor peeked out of the bathroom. “Come in when you’re ready.”
Fluttershy looked to Mac. “I’m way too tired, can you help me?”
Mac scooped her onto his back and carried her to the bathroom, gently setting her in the tub. Mac looked over at the doctor with a huge smile. “Thank you so much doctor, you’ve been a big help to Fluttershy and me.”
The doctor rubbed Fluttershy’s back slightly. “You both are doing well. Most beg for drugs by now. You should be proud of yourself Fluttershy. He stood up and smiled at Mac. “Call me if you need me,” he said before leaving.
Fluttershy sighed in the tub. “Mmm…that’s nice…” she said as she rubbed her belly.
“Mac was rubbing her belly as he kissed her neck. “Even now you are still my pregnant princess,” Mac said. She reached out and touched a hoof to one of his. She mumbled something about being close. “You are close, and we will be holding our foal soon.” She kissed Mac tiredly, barely a connection of lips. All her energy was going towards having the foal. “Just rest Flutter and allow the water to support you.” She nodded as she let her head rest back, her eyes closing. “Let yourself go,” Mac whispered.
Fluttershy was in a trance for a few minutes, seeming completely relaxed. “Contraction……coming,” She whispered very nervously.
“Breathe through it Flutter. Hooo,hooo,hooo,hooo….” She took a breath before doing her Lamaze breathing again staring at Mac. The Foal was pressing down, but she felt somehow she could handle it better. Even though, it still really hurt. “Just keep breathing Flutter, you can do it.”
The pain escalated and she spread her legs to try and relieve some pressure. She wasn’t having much success though. “Hooo,hooo,hooo, Ooooow……”
Mac licked her mouth. “Flutter, I know you can do this. I know you can.” Mac held her hoof tight as she leaned her head against him, crying from the pressure in her abdomen. “Flutter, breathe you can do it.” She cried as she went into her Lamaze breathing, but it wasn’t helping as much anymore. Now all she felt she needed was Mac supporting her. Everything else would be fine as long as he was there. She curled over as the pain continued its escalation. “Breathe Flutter,” he said as he rubbed her back trying to help.
“Mmmmph, just hold me,” She whined as she tried to breathe best she could. Mac held her close as her rubbed her belly and nipped her ear. Flutter was breathing harder and faster as the contraction peaked, her legs trembling She closed her eyes, hoping that would block the pain, but it did nothing. All she could do was weather it. Her back arched as she moaned. “Ooooh… owwww…”
Mac licked her face lovingly, trying anything possible at this point. “I know it hurts Flutter, keep breathing.” She was panting and whimpering, completely dependent on him to keep her from crying. The peak of this contraction lasted a long time, and although the water relieved pressure, it was still there…reminding her of what to come. “You are doing great.” Mac whispered.
Fluttershy felt the contraction lessening. Her breathing finally slowed as she calmed down in relief that her contraction was ending.
“Do you want to stay in the water, or should I carry you back to bed?” Mac asked.
She felt her belly muscles ease up but remain tense, as if she was preparing for the next contraction. She was limp as the pain left her. “Here…” She breathed.
“Okay Flutter, you are doing wonderful.”
She shook her head while looking at him. “It hurts……..Mac……..I don’t know how much longer I can do it……”
“You can do this, no you are doing this.”
Fluttershy opened her mouth to say otherwise, but no words came out. She could only do one thing, rest while she could, still panting.
“If I could, I would be birthing the foal,” he said kissing her again.
She smiled weakly because of how tired she was and whispered to him. “Mac, I have to, silly…..”
“I know, but if I could at least take the pain from you I would.”
Fluttershy looked at him, her eyes half open. She raised her arms, signaling that she wanted help. “Want to help me up?”
He helped her lean on the side of the tub. “I’m here for you.”
She leaned in to his hug best she could with her belly. She just ended up whispering to him. “Love you daddy….”
“Love you too mommy,” he said with a kiss.
She murmured from the kiss, her tail moving slightly. “Can feel foal….. pressing…… going to be mommy……..” She sounded out of it, but Mac talking to her was all she needed.
“You will be a mommy soon,” Mac said.
She leaned into Mac, nuzzling his back. “I can’t do it without you….”
“I will always be there for you,” Mac said as he kissed her.
Fluttershy nodded but stayed still waiting for the next contraction. It wasn’t long. She whimpered and rocked back and forth as she started contracting again.
Mac smiled at her. “You’re doing it, you’re doing well.”
She was panting loudly as the tightening worsened, letting out little yelps, but handling the pain better. “Mmmf…. pressure….push down….”
“You can do it, I know it.”
Fluttershy pushed her hooves on the side of the tub. If she looked down, she would have seen her belly contracting. She wiped the sweat from her face and spread her legs further apart trying to relieve more pressure. She let out a yelp as the foal shifted around as it descended a little causing her legs to shake as her body sank into the water “Oooooooh!!” she cried.
Mac stroked her mane. “I will always be there for you and will not leave.”
She grit her teeth as the foal pressed harder against her cervix. She was reliant on Mac for support as she breathed in hissing breaths. As the pain hit a peak, her head pulled back as she yowled.
The doctor rushed to the door. “Something wrong?” he asked.
“Hurts!!!” She screamed.
Mac was petting her mane as he kissed her. “Want to lie in bed so you can be checked Flutter?”
She shook her head and continued to yell as the contraction stayed at the peak. The doctor put on a really long glove and knelt next to the tub “Hold her steady Big Mac, I need to check her.”
Big Mac held her and tried to keep her calm for the doctor. “I know it hurts, but I believe you.”
The doctor reached into her sex, causing her to scream.
“I am sorry Fluttershy, but I will be out soon.”
Her breath was a mix of groaning, yelping, and panting.
The doctor felt all the way to her cervix and what little of the foals head was sticking out. “The foal has moved down a bit. It just had a jump in progress. The water seems to be helping.”
Fluttershy hissed as she tried to push the doctor’s hoof out.
“You are doing great.” Mac said.
The contraction ended abruptly, which caused Fluttershy to collapse and pant heavily. “OhGodsoomuchpressure…”
The doctor rubbed her with his other hoof. “It is almost over.
“We are so close to holding our foal, Flutter. Soon it will be born and all the work will be over,” Mac said as he tried to reassure her.

The hardest work was still to come. Fluttershy and Big Mac weathered forty five minutes of transition contractions with Fluttershy in the tub. She felt the foal descend very slowly and her cervix opening.
After another contraction she collapsed and cried. “I don’t know if I can do it for long….”
“Yes you can, and the end will be in sight. Would you rather lie down or remain here?”
“Doooooooown.” she groaned trying to stand up.
Mac picked her up onto his back and carried her to the bed, laying her down. He smiled and rubbed her belly. “Relax Flutter, save your energy for when you need to push.”
“It…. hurts I can’t…” she cried out.
“You can, Flutter, and you are.” Mac asserted, “We have waited 60 weeks for this, and from the start you said no medication. I am not allowing you to give up.” There was a knock at the door. Fluttershy nodded to Mac that he should speak for her. “Come in,” Mac said.
The door opened and Nurse Redheart came in. “How are you doing?”
Fluttershy muttered. “Pressure…..pain….got to be close….check…” she said in the position to be checked.
The nurse put on a glove and checked her cervix gently.” You are at nine centimeters.”
Fluttershy nodded very tiredly “One more, one more…” She said as she held onto Mac with a firmness she expected to be lost by this point.
“We are nearing the end Flutter,” Mac said as Redheart removed her hoof and threw away the glove.
Fluttershy looked at Mac, and didn’t bother to hide her tiredness anymore visibly panting hard. “It huuuurts… let me have iit….”
“It will all be over soon Flutter,” Mac said trying to be reassuring as he kissed her. “Relax as much as possible.”
“I am not even contracting and this hurts,” She whined
“The foal is close is why. You’ve been holding on and being strong for the foal. You can do it.”
She sniffled and wiped her eyes. “Why is it so hot for Celestia’s sake….”
“You are in labor and your body is working hard to birth the foal.” He turned to the nurse, “Could you please get my wife a fan?” The nurse left to do so.
“I doNN!” Flutter yelped as she focused on Mac.
“I know it hurts, but I am here for you,” He said while stroking her mane
Fluttershy breathed hard as she was gritting her teeth, and curling around her belly the best she could. She wanted to let the pain and pressure go, but it was hard. Mac was rubbing her shoulders as the nurse came in with a fan, setting it up to blow on the uncovered Fluttershy. She was on her side almost in a fetal position, her ears down while whimpering. “Celestiaitwantsout…”
“It will be here soon Flutter.” Mac said as he kissed her.
Fluttershy pulled her lips back as her hooves started to pound the bed. “CELESTIA IT HUUURTS!!!!” She pulled Mac’s face to hers, needing to feel him. He started to lick her face not moving an inch while whispering he was there. She finally started to come down from the contraction as she wheezed and groaned. She stared at Mac with tears in her eyes. “Ppplease tell me it will end soon.”
“We will have the foal in our arms soon Flutter.” he said as his arm was draped over her shoulders again.
Flutter licked his mouth as he had done for her. “I love you so much Mac.”
“I love you too Flutter.”
She rested her mouth on Mac as she breathed slowly. “I can’t believe how close we are to having that foal. It seems like only…” she whispered before the emotions got to her and she was crying.
“You will be a wonderful mother Flutter, and I can’t wait to have both of you in my hooves.

As twelve and a half hours passed and the pain became overwhelming she said. “Mac, please call the doctor now.”
He hit the call button and stroked her mane, his heart leaping. The doctor and nurse headed into the room. The doctor checked her and nodded “You are at ten centimeters Fluttershy, so let’s get you ready. He and the nurse gathered the needed instruments as they put gloves on.
Fluttershy looked at Mac trying to tell him what she felt, but no words would come out. Mac just smiled and kissed her. “We are here,” Mac whispered as his smile widened.
Fluttershy was sitting half upright, her legs spread apart. The doctor was holding one and the nurse the other. The doctor talked to her calmly. “You know what to do. When there is a contraction, curl, tuck your chin in and give a big push. It will feel like a bowel movement.” She was half listening, holding onto Mac, crying from all the emotion. Mac stroked her cheek and kissed her. There was only a minute before Fluttershy began to whimper.
“Deep breath and push!” the doctor said. Fluttershy inhaled and slouched over her stomach. The doctor and nurse pulled her legs back as she did this.
Mac counted to ten. “Okay, breathe and push!” he said, looking down at her sex. The nurse moved her eyes between Fluttershy and the monitors. Fluttershy let out her breath inhaled and bore down again, grinding her teeth as she pushed hard. She felt the mass in her belly to press hard against her cervix. She flinched as the pain intensified. The feeling was different from the contractions, actually it was in addition to the pain of the contractions. Mac kissed her as he continued counting. “Good Flutter, push push, four, five….”
“Push against the pressure Fluttershy,” the doctor encouraged.
She let out a yelp as the pain and pressure became worse. She was trying to push hard.
“Fluttershy, you can do it…” Fluttershy said before counting again, the nurse was wiping her forehead with a cool rag.
She gave a push again, before relaxing and allowing her legs to fall as she breathed hard. “God it HUUURTS!” she cried out.
“You are doing great Flutter,” Mac whispered as he kissed her.
“If you keep that up, the foal will be here in no time.”
Fluttershy screamed out, “I can’t do this…” every utterance sounding as if it was hard for her to speak and getting harder.
“This was just the first contraction. You can’t get discouraged that it didn’t happen right away,” the doctor said.
“You can and are doing it. We are at the end, no time to turn back,” Mac said firmly. Her face showed the pain and pressure she was feeling….. “I know it hurts, but it will be over soon.” Fluttershy rested her head upon the pillow, trying to relax and save her strength for pushing instead of her fear. She closed her eyes, trying to reach the water bottle. She wasn’t really trying to get it, just to tell Mac that she needed it. He held it to her lips as he continued to encourage her. “You are doing great. Keep it up; I know you can do it.”
She drank the water, her throat suddenly dry. “H…h…hurts” she breathed.
The doctor rubbed her tummy. “Just rest and take deep breaths.”
“Flutter, I know it hurts, but I know you can do this. I will not leave you till we have that foal in our arms,” Mac said trying to reassure her.
She held Mac in her hooves as if afraid he would disappear if she let go. Her eyes were kept closed as she was continuing to breathe deep focusing on the foal, the goal of all the pain and effort…. that she could feel pressing her cervix.
Mac held her hooves as well. “Just breathe and rest Flutter. Visualize our foal waiting for you to help it into the world.”
She pictured the life she had seen on the sonograms and heard on the heart monitor sliding down her birth canal and into Mac are her hooves. The thought calmed her down until she whinnied and her legs pulled back. “Here……comes……!” she tried to say before once again she was seized by the urge to bear down.
Mac and the nurse helped hold her legs back as she pushed. “You are doing it, and doing it wonderfully. keep it up,” he said as the nurse wiped her head to try and help her keep cool.
Fluttershy’s lips pulled back and her jaw clenched as she pushed, her kind face twisted in determination and effort. “Hnnng….Grrrah….!” she grunted right before she took another deep breath and pushed, her hooves pushing into the bed so hard that the little bit of her mind not focused on the push was embarrassed.
“Push into your bottom,” The doctor said.
Mac was rubbing her leg, doing anything he could to try and comfort his wife. “That’s it, Flutter, that’s it, push.”
Fluttershy, as nice as she usually was, wanted to tell Mac to “shut up!” but she was concentrating harder on pushing out this foal then she was snapping at Mac. “Nnng…OW!” She yelped as the pain and pressure rose again, causing her to push harder and whimper more loudly. Mac kept one hoof on her leg, and used the other to help her curl over.
“Breathe deep and push!” the doctor said.
She let out a yelp that caused her to lose her breath and gasp before she bore down again, tears building in her eyes from the pain. Mac licked her maw, sensing she would rather concentrate than be told what to do. She pushed for as long as she could before letting out her breath and her body relaxing. She was panting heavily as she looked in the mirror that hung over the doctor. She cried because the foal didn’t even show.
Mac wiped her face with the cool towel as he kissed her. “I love you Flutter,” he whispered to her.
She wanted to loudly profess it back to him, as embarrassing as that might be, but could only whisper barely, “I love you.”
The doctor stroked Fluttershy. “Hey now, don’t get discouraged; it’s normal for first foals to take quite a bit of pushing. How about we move into another position? She nodded as she reached for Mac. “Let’s try having you sit. Big Mac can you help me move her into your lap?
Mac sat on the bed and the doctor, nurse and he moved Fluttershy onto his lap, her belly facing out as all her weight leaned on him. He smiled and licked her head. “You are so beautiful Flutter.”
Fluttershy shined at the change of position. The pain lessened a bit, but the pressure was more intense. It was happening and there was going to be much more. She grabbed his hoof and pushed hers hard into his.
He held onto hers as well as he kissed her. “I’m not leaving you Flutter.”
She heard and understood him, but didn’t answer as she was too focused on the mass pressing on her cervix. She knew he was there because he was speaking to her, but he was her anchor to reality… he was there…. no he wasn’t just there… he was there for her and the foal.
The doctor spoke to the nurse. “Redheart, can you wipe Fluttershy’s face please?” She nodded and did so.
Fluttershy was so hot that the towel was a welcome comfort. She breathed slowly and very deeply for a couple of minutes before she whined and held Mac’s hoof harder. He smiled down at her. “Come on, deep breaths, you’re doing great.”
She looked at the ceiling as she pushed down, trying to imagine her pelvis widening for the foal. She focused on that image, picturing the foal moving ever forward. “HnnnnngAAAAA!! “she grunted as she pushed, having trouble keeping a steady push.
Mac helped her stay upright, supporting with her pushing anyway he could. Her body trembled with each effort, her teats and marehood slightly leaking.
The doctor dabbed up the fluids gently. “That’s it Fluttershy, feel that foal coming.”
‘Celestia’s sake!’ she thought. When she pushed, she wanted it to be quiet, wanted to focus, but between contractions she needed to know she wasn’t doing something wrong. She couldn’t focus enough to speak, not with the weight in her birth canal. Mac licked her face as he supported her, trying to bring strength and encouragement. Fluttershy panted and bore down again, feeling gravity pull the foal closer to the world. Even though it was pulling the foal, it didn’t feel it was coming much faster. She gripped Mac tighter as she felt the straining of her cervix as it strained to pass the foal.

“You are doing great Flutter, I know you can do it,” Big Mac said as he wiped his wife’s forehead.
Fluttershy was beyond being able to respond. After about an hour and a half, and after sitting, followed by pushing on her side, no longer felt comfortable. Her knees were at chest level and her marehood was red and swollen with the foal’s head behind it. Her eyes were closed; her hooves pushing on the bed.
The doctor instructed the nurse to hold a warm washcloth to Fluttershy’s marehood to increase blood flow and reduce the risk of tearing. This would also give her something to focus on when she pushed. Mac had one hoof around her for balance as he dabbed her face with the cold towel.
She grunted, pushing her hooves into the bed harder and she let out a yelp as she started giving quick, grunting pushes, her body bent towards her stomach. All she heard and read didn’t matter, she felt and did what was right. Mac kept quiet and let her do what was needed as he licked her. The room soon filled with her groaning and grunting as she pushed. She shivered with every effort, the sensation of the foal progressing slowly. The doctor had sensed that when pushing she wanted quiet and when not she needed reassurance.
“Nnnnggggugghhhhahhh,” she grunted as her hoof seemed as if it was going to go through the mattress with each push. Her labia would slightly push against the washcloth as the foal would descend then slip back slightly in what seemed like two steps forward and one step back.
“Keep it up,” Mac said as he kissed her.
Her hooves left the bed as she yelped, the foals progress jumping. She reached her hooves out for Mac’s as her body pushed without her thinking.
Mac grabbed her hooves. “I’m not leaving. I’m here for you.”
NnnnnnggggggAAAAAA!” she yelped as the contraction ended, grasping onto his hoof hard enough for it to hurt.
Fluttershy was still gripping Mac hard as the doctor moved the nurse’s hoof away so he could look into and probe her marehood. “The head is right there Fluttershy. Do you want to feel it?
Fluttershy’s hooves were still gripping Mac’s and she couldn’t move them. Mac licked her. “Let my hoof go,” he encouraged till she released her grip. He took her hoof and guided it to her marehood. “Feel the foal we made in the Apple orchard?”
Fluttershy slipped her hoof in and felt the hard mass of their foal’s head. She sobbed as she stroked the foals head, speaking barely above a whisper. “I feel it,” she said as she removed her hoof from her marehood.
Mac inserted his hoof in, petting their almost born foal as he cried a little. “I feel the foal,” He said as he licked her nose lovingly. “Soon we can hold it in our arms.’
None of the pain or fatigue mattered anymore; the foal was close and she could feel it.
“There you go Fluttershy, it’s almost the end,” the doctor said smiling “The foal will stretch your perineum, and if it hurts, breathe out and let gravity pull.”
She was unable to think of anything, but the foal Mac and she could touch with their hooves. Mac petted the foal one last time before rubbing his hoof up and down her leg.
“Big Mac, if you hold the washcloth to Fluttershy’s perineum, you can feel the progress of the foal too,” the doctor said invitingly.
Mac nodded returning his hoof to her sex, as he was handed a resoaked washcloth. He gently pressed it to Fluttershy’s opening as he continued to lick her. The nurse took the towel to wipe Fluttershy’s forehead.
Fluttershy’s tongue fell out of her mouth as she panted, her hoof kept under the washcloth. Her head was leaned back against Mac’s shoulder, her mouth smiling despite the pain she was in. “You are my birthing princess,” Mac said lovingly as he kissed her. As overwhelmed by joy as Fluttershy was, she could only give Mac’s mouth a lick. Her other hoof was rubbing one of his as fast as she could.
Within the next few minutes she yelped as another contraction started. Her chin was to her chest again as she pushed, her hoof to the foal’s head to remind her how close the end was. It didn’t take long for Fluttershy to close her eyes and shut her jaw as her labia started to part for the foals head. She let out a cry, her flesh stinging as it stretched. “Nggggaaaah!” she whined as she pulled her hoof out and pushed it into the bed.
“Please talk to her and try to calm her down. Get her to slow down, give herself time to stretch,” The doctor said to Mac.
Mac calmly talked to Fluttershy,” Try to relax Flutter, and breathe. Let your body stretch and prepare.”
“Gyaaaah!” She could concentrate on the meaning of his words, only the slowly crowning foal and that it was slowly forcing her open. She wanted to relax and let gravity do the work, but her body was pushing whether or not she wanted it to.
Mac rubbed her with his free hoof. “Come on Flutter, you can do this,” Mac said as he kissed her and the nurse wiped the sweat off her head.
She couldn’t cry any more, as she was dry. All she could do was sobbing dry as her flesh distended and opened slowly around the foal…..
The doctor rubbed her comfortingly “Take it nice and slow and easy, the foal will come.”
Mac’s washcloth covered hoof cupped the foals head as if he was encouraging the foal to come to them. His hoof touch was the only comfort she had. Even though she knew the pain was the foal coming closer, it hurt so much she couldn’t think positively. As her head shook back and forth as she let out grunts and yelps. Her hooves alternated between pressing into the mattress and feeling between her legs trying to feel the foal’s head.
When the contraction ended, she almost collapsed, keeping upright with willpower and adrenaline. Her body shivered with her sobbing and was able to take shaky breaths. Mac continued to rub the washcloth against her opening. He was hoping to find what would help her the most. Fluttershy had to gulp down some of the spit that was accumulating in her mouth as she concentrated on Mac. Her hoof moved to her marehood again as she pushed Mac’s out of the way to touch the foals head again.
Mac touched her hoof and nodded. “Yes Flutter that is our foal.”
Mac moved his other hoof over and grabbed for the glass of water helping the straw to her lips. She gulped the water down before leaning her head against Mac again as she tried to calm down. The nurse wiped her forehead again. Mac tried to nudge one of the lips of her marehood to the side trying to stretch it.
Fluttershy flinched as he did this, crying out, “Aaaaadon’t.”
The doctor almost snapped at him. “Don’t do that; it’ll promote tears. Rub in nice and slow circles.”
He immediately did as instructed. “I’m sorry Flutter,” he said as he kissed her.
“That’s it,” the doctor said as he felt around the foal’s head.
Fluttershy panted as Mac rubbed her, feeling the ache in her body go down enough she could whisper to Mac. “Feel.”
Mac reached under the washcloth with his hoof and felt the foal’s head, smiling and licking her mouth. “Nearly there Flutter,” He whispered as he was still rubbing her with a washcloth.
Fluttershy panted slowly for a while more as she reached for Mac’s hoof, her other hoof latching into the bed. “Talktome!” she whined as she felt her body push the foal down and her sex was stretching again.
“youaredoingwonderful,youcandoit,it’scoming,” he said to try to reassure her as he licked her face.
Her legs trembled as she kept them as spread as she could. She felt herself opening wider and wider her lips tight around the foal’s head. She moved her hoof to feel for the foal which reminded her to take it slow. “uhm,ifyouwouldn’tmind,couldyoupleasecomefoalplease…”she whined.
Mac moved the washcloth so Fluttershy could feel the head. “It’s coming, let it come on its own, and it will be here when you both are ready,” he said as he licked her.
She screamed as the head reached its widest point. “NGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAA!” The contraction ended and the foal slipped back in slightly.
“It’s so close,” he whispered as he touched the foal’s head again.
Fluttershy was sobbing dryly again, not just from pain anymore, but also the fact that the foal was so close to being born and with them.
“I think the head will be out on the next contraction Fluttershy. The end is a few minutes away,” the doctor said.
Mac felt his tail swaying out of happiness as he smiled. “You hear that Flutter? The doctor said it. The foal is almost in our arms.”
“Mac, if you want to catch the foal, come in front,” the doctor offered. She couldn’t believe it. The foal so close the doctor was asking Mac if he wanted to catch it. He nodded and moved in front of Fluttershy and after washing his hooves stood ready. “Let her do the guiding, she knows what to do. The doctor stood behind Fluttershy, his instruments with him. Fluttershy rested her head against Mac, her hooves rubbing their foal’s head.
Mac waited for another contraction, rubbing his tail on her. “It’s close to time Flutter. We are so close to being parents,” he said as he kissed her.
She panted, her hoof brushing over the foal’s wet fur. She sobbed as she found an ear and stroked it.
Fluttershy gasped as her whole body shook. She breathed in and bore down, every inch of her body telling her to push the foal’s head out. Her marehood was bulging against her hooves as the foal inched closer.
Mac moved his hooves near her sex best he could considering the space her hoof took. “Almost there,” he coached.
The foal’s head again reached its widest diameter as Fluttershy pushed. ”Nggggaaa!” she grunted.
Mac’s smile widened as he saw movement. “Almost here, just a little more!” he said very excitedly.
The doctor readied his instruments. “One more push,”nHe said reassuringly as he rubbed her.
Fluttershy’s flesh felt to her like it was going to rip as the head tried to pass through. She decided it was time for the foal, so she breathed in. “Thisisit….!!” she said before pushing as hard as she could. “HRRRGGGGAAAAAAA!!” she screamed in pain as her lips gave to the foals head in a gush of fluid. Her eyes burst open and stared at Mac as she felt all of the foal’s head from its maw, its nose, and its eyes. Tears came back as she bawled in joy. Mac stroked the foal’s head as he kissed Fluttershy, ready to catch their baby.
The doctor suctioned the foals nose and mouth. “That’s great Fluttershy, you are doing well. Now we just need to turn it on its side so the shoulders can come out,” he said calmly.
She wasn’t listening to the doctor; her body already telling her she needed to turn the foal. She nudged the head feeling it shift. Mac looked at the foal, crying slightly. It’s yellow, the foal has yellow fur.” he said in a shaky voice.
Fluttershy leaned into Mac, her tears and sweat coating his fur. “So close, so close…” she thought.
“One more push, Flutter and the foal will be here.” he said as he kissed her, waiting for hopefully the last contraction. She tried to steady her breathing, but could only feel.
With the next contraction she pushed, feeling the shoulder slip out of her body. She yelped as the rest of its body followed, landing in Mac’s hooves and the blanket. He lifted the foal for Fluttershy to take. Fluttershy reached out her hooves shakily as she took the squirming and whining fuzzy life from her husband. She moved to sit upright, cradling this precious life. It was yellow like her and had her tail and wings, but seemed to have Mac’s strong legs. Fluttershy couldn’t speak, so she just cried.
The doctor draped another blanket over the foal, smiling at them. He looked over the foal seeing the telltale signs of a filly, but he looked at the sex momentarily to make sure. “8 P.M., and a beautiful filly. Congratulations,” he said.
Mac leaned down putting a hoof around Fluttershy as he stroked the foal’s mane. “Welcome you,” he said
Fluttershy rubbed the foal’s back and licked her head lovingly as the foal buried her face in her mother’s fur. “Happy birthday Shy Seeds,” she whispered.
Happy birthday my little filly,” Mac said as he kissed his wife and then the foal.
The doctor nodded to the nurse and patted Fluttershy’s leg. “Would you like to cut the cord Mac…” the doctor said as he held up some scissors. Mac cut the cord and the doctor continued speaking. “If we can just take her so we can weigh and clean her up.” Fluttershy didn’t want her foal to be taken from her. She shook her head no and kept licking her foal. “We will not take her away; she won’t even leave the room.”
“Let me take him Fluttershy. They need to weigh, measure, and make sure the foal is ok.” Mac said trying to be as calm as possible. His voice was the only thing that kept her confident during the experience, the only voice she could listen to aside from the foal’s whimpering. She gave the foal one more kiss before allowing Mac to take her. Mac took his daughter in his hooves and moved her to the scale.
Shy whined louder as she was taken from her mother, but Big Mac’s scent made her feel safe. All she wanted was to be near something soft and warm.
The doctor followed Big Mac as Redheart cleaned Fluttershy the best she could. “Set her nice and easy on the scale.”
Mac placed her on the scale, as he spoke quietly to her. “It is okay, dad’s here and not leaving you.”
He heard that voice often. She couldn’t understand it, but felt safe when hearing it.
The doctor checked and nodded. “Okay, 115 pounds. Good so far. He then measured her height, 44 inches.
“You’re a big little filly aren’t you,” Mac remarked.
Fluttershy’s eyes were barely open as she listened to the doctor and Mac. She was panting again. Their daughter was here and healthy. If only the jabbing sensations in her womb would stop.
Redheart continued to wipe sweat from Fluttershy. “Anything I can get you?” she asked.
“My daughter,” she replied.
The doctor handed the foal back to Mac. “She is in great health, and I commend both of you for sticking this out.”
As Ma walked towards Fluttershy he complimented her. “I am so proud of you Flutter.”
He sat down next to her and gave her a kiss.
Fluttershy let out a sigh as the foal latched onto one of her teats. “Flutter has all the milk you need.”
“Both you and the foal mean so much to me, and I can’t imagine not living with you,” he said as he kissed Fluttershy again.
“Only one more thing Fluttershy, the placenta,” the doctor said.
“You ready?” Mac said.
She nodded slightly. “Then sleep finally…..”
“All we have to wait for is the contraction and then it will be quick,” the doctor said.
“Can you examine her uterus,” the doctor said to the nurse
The nurse brought an ultrasound machine over and placed some gel on Fluttershy’s still swollen belly and rubbed the wand over it. Within a few seconds she gasped. “Come quick doctor.”
“Am I okay?” Fluttershy said becoming very nervous.
As the doctor looked at the screen he started to speak. “That’s not a plac-…” he stopped as his eyes went huge. “Oh my Celestia.”
“What?” Mac said. Leaving Fluttershy and their foal’s side his eyes went wide as well when he saw the picture. “Honey,” he said.
Mac and the doctor spoke in unison. “You have another foal in there.”
Fluttershy suddenly felt fear again. “SHOWMETHESCREEN!!” The nurse showed her the blurry image of a foal that had been hiding from them.
“I’m sorry ma’am but we need to get you back to a delivery room, and that means Shy Seeds there has to go to the nursery,” the doctor said calmly but with authority. “You will see her again soon.”
“Help me,” Fluttershy whined on the verge of tears.
“Flutter, I will be there with you, and as always will not leave your side,” he said reassuringly as he kissed her.
The doctor and nurse were rushing around as they readied Fluttershy to be moved. She focused on the filly in her arms. Both of them were the only things keeping her calm. She whimpered every time the second foal moved.
Mac kissed Fluttershy on the lips as he removed Shy from her arms. “Just for now Flutter.”
She rubbed Shy one last time. “Mommy has to go now, be a good girl,” she whispered as she cried.
Mac gave Shy a kiss before placing her in Fluttershy’s arms. The foal whined a bit as she was carried out of the room.
When Fluttershy was ready to go several doctors wheeled her out of the room. Her hoof never left Mac’s. She was whining as she was led down the hall. She yelped as her contraction started.
“Don’t worry Flutter, it’s okay,” Mac said as he rubbed her trying to be comforting.
This was happening too fast for her as she couldn’t concentrate on her breathing or anything for that matter, so all she could do was yelp as she contracted. Patients that she passed looked on in fear, but she couldn’t care less if she scared them when she was really afraid.
“Let it all go Fluttershy. I know how tired you are, but the second one will come out much faster,” the doctor said.
Fluttershy wasn’t listening as she grit her teeth as she writhed and yelped. She had to calm down and concentrate, but it hurt so bad and she was really scared….
“Almost there Fluttershy, hold on,” the doctor said even if he didn’t think she’d care.
When they entered a delivery room again, the doctor stopped Mac. “I need you to wash…”
“NO!!!!” Fluttershy cried as she felt Mac’s hooves leave hers.
Mac hurriedly washed his hooves as the doctor put on a mask and gloves. He rushed back to Fluttershy’s side. She held one of his hooves really tight. “D-D-DON’TDOTHATAGAIN!” she yelled at him.
“I won’t, I promise Flutter,” he said kissing her and wanting to scream because of the pain from her grip.
“Fluttershy, we will let you push as long as possible, but if the foal needs help we will move in and might have to do a C-section,” the doctor explained.
She was squatting beside the bed with a sanitary towel under her and ice chips on the bed as she panted. Mac was behind her and the doctor in front. “You can do this, the foal will be out soon.”
The doctor put his hooves on her stomach to feel for the foal. “That’s right, soon you will be blessed again.”
Fluttershy leaned into Mac, holding one of his hooves as she was mouthing words with no sound coming out.
“Don’t worry Flutter, this foal will be easier,” Mac said as he tried to reassure her.
Fluttershy licked at her lips, the saliva she didn’t swallow running from her mouth and her teats leaking. The doctor dabbed her mouth trying to wipe up the saliva and then wiped near her teats. She whined and grabbed Mac’s hoof harder as she pushed.
Mac rubbed her hooves as he kissed her. “You can do this. As soon as this is over, you will hold another wonderful foal in our arms.”
“NGAAAA…!!” she grunted, pushing as hard as she could as she felt the foal coming.
“Push, push,” the doctor coached,
Mac continued to whisper encouragement to Fluttershy. “Push real strong,” he said.
Fluttershy’s whole body shook as she grit her teeth and her eyes shut. She could feel the progress, but couldn’t keep up the effort. She had to stop to take a few breaths mid-contraction.
“Do what you can,” the doctor said as he wiped her face.
She was only able to give another even weaker push before the contraction waned and she shook her head. She was so tired and had used up most of her strength on Shy. She wanted Mac to know how scared she was, but couldn’t voice her concern. “Deep breaths in and out Flutter, that’s it,” he said.
“I know how good of a pusher he is, but I also know you are tired. If you feel too tired to push, go ahead and ride out a contraction,” the doctor said wiping her face.
Mac kissed her. “Take a rest. Save your strength.” She breathed as slowly as she could, wiping a tear from her eye. She felt needy and kissed Mac, moving his hoof down to her belly. He kissed her even with his medical mask on. “I am not leaving.” Fluttershy wanted to feel Mac’s lips on hers, but would hate it if he had to leave to wash up again. She leaned against his chest again, panting as the doctors watched.
She pulled herself into a squat as she breathed and pushed Mac whispered encouragement to her as she used her body to keep her weight centered. Her head was back with her nose pointed to the ceiling as she tried to push. She tried to keep breathing, as she felt the foal inch down little by little.
“Really good pushing,” the doctor in front of her said.
“You are doing great,” Mac said as he moved her hoof to her marehood so she could feel.
She felt her lips swelling outward, but she still had a ways to go. She pushed her hoof in, desperate to feel she was making progress. It went in not too far before she felt the foal’s head, causing her to sob in relief, pain, and love as she felt slight movements downward.
“See Flutttershy, you are doing great. Keep it up. I know how tired and in pain you are,” Mac said as he kissed her.
An hour ago she would have barked at him with “he had no idea the pain or her tiredness,” but all she wanted was his voice. When the contraction ended, she let out a deep breath as she panted hard. The doctor tried to help as Mac wiped her forehead.
Mac kissed her. “Rest Flutter, deep breaths, the foal will come soon.”
“Can you lift up a little Fluttershy so I can check on the foal?” he said as she lifted as best her tired body could. “You are moving on quickly. Looks like a C-section isn’t necessary,” he said as he smiled, nodding to let the other doctors to know to stay away as to not make her panic.
Fluttershy was still afraid that as tired as she was she wouldn’t be able to push out the second foal, or that something would go wrong. Mac sensed her fear and stroked her mane. “Just remember what you felt, the foal is coming. Soon Shy Seeds will have a sister or brother.”
Fluttershy closed her eyes as she leaned back into Mac, trying to ease the dryness in her throat. Another contraction hit quickly, causing her to go back into a squat. The contractions were coming on hard and fast, and she needed a longer break to catch her breath. Mac held ice chips to her lips as he heard her hoarse breathing. ”nice pushes Flutter,” he said trying to comfort her.
She couldn’t even open her mouth and take the ice as the urge to push seized her. She couldn’t give a big push and just tried to ride out the contraction. The feeling of the foal descending made her unable to keep herself from pushing a little.
Seeing she was trying to conserve strength, the doctor coached her. “That’s good, little pushes, the foal is coming,” he said as he kept his hoof in both to feel the progress and also give her something to focus her pushing on.
“You can do it,” Mac said.
Ohhh GOOOOOOOOD…Ngggaa.. Ggghghghgah!” she said moaning and grunting her head shaking back and forth as she held Mac’s hoof tight.
“Make all the noise you want Flutter no one will stop you or care,” the doctor said to comfort her.
“Cry and let everything out,” Mac said.
Once the contraction was near the end her energy saved, she gave a good push, feeling the foal slip down. She let out an ear shattering scream as her flesh stretched. After she recovered her jumbled senses, she swallowed spit and whispered, “Bed.”
“Do you want to be in another position on the bed?” the doctor asked and received a nod. Mac offered her another ice chip as he kissed her. She took it in her mouth, every drip a relief. “I think she wants help, Mac,” the doctor said.
“Carry,” she said nodding.
“Anything you want,” Mac said as he helped her on the bed where she laid her head on the pillow as she gripped Mac’s hoof. The doctor dabbed at her marehood with a towel. Mac kissed her as he said. ”I am so proud of you Flutter.”
She forced a smile for him and breathed,” Feel.”
The doctor handed Mac sanitizing solution. “Just for a bit.”
He cleaned his hoof and felt his heart skip a beat as his hoof touched the foal’s head. As much as it hurt, she didn’t regret being drug free for a second. Being able to feel Mac and the foal was a rush…
The foal is coming out quickly enough that I might have you stop pushing so you don’t tear.
“Just a little longer Flutter, you know what to do,” Mac said as he took her hoof in his. She licked him weakly as she got a second wind from knowing the foal was almost out. “Good pushing,” Mac said.
The doctor kept his eyes on Fluttershy as he saw the foal’s head emerge. “I see pink hair Flutter,” he encouraged.
She didn’t scream and could barely grunt, all of her energy willing the foal to come down. “Really strong push,” Mac said.
The force of her pushes caused her to shake. She let out a long “GHRRRRRRAGH” before she took a breath and pushed, clenching her jaw. The foal almost reached its head’s widest diameter before she stopped, her eyes kept closed.
“You can do it,” Mac said as he kissed her through the mask again.
“Great pushing Flutter,” the doctor added, “At this rate, the head will come out quickly, and if you can help, try not to push. I would rather you not tear if it can be helped.”
Fluttershy would have told him that she couldn’t stop pushing when she started, and the foal will come out when she says, but only touched the foal’s head with tears of happiness.
“Keep it up Flutter,” Mac said.
Flutter smiled very tiredly, her mouth smiling slightly as she panted her tongue out of her mouth. She felt the foal move and her opening stretching, but this wasn’t a contraction. She would have cried out, but wasn’t afraid anymore. If the foal wanted to come, she wouldn’t fight it. “Oooh,” she moaned as a vocalization of pain and love, as tears left her eyes.
“Nice and easy,” the doctor said as the foal’s head slipped out of Fluttershy’s body in a gush of fluid.
“Let it happen,” Mac said as he moved to Fluttershy’s side hoping to see the foal, but not letting go of her hoof. The color of the foal was a mix of theirs, such a nice shade of pink.
The doctor checked that the cord wasn’t around the foal’s neck and sucked the airway. “The worst is over Fluttershy, just a few more pushes.”
Mac kissed her. “The foal’s here.”
Fluttershy smiled and cried, her body shaking from the sobs as she looked at Mac and made sounds like hysterical babbling. These weren’t out of sadness, but to try to vocalize her love.
The doctor supported the foal’s head as he turned it on its side. “Almost…”
“One more push Flutter,” Mac said.
Fluttershy tucked her chin into the pillow and gave a push, feeling the foal exit her. The doctor caught it as it cried. “Another filly. You guys have two fillies,” the doctor said calmly.
Mac felt tears fill his eyes as he kissed Fluttershy again. She reached around for her second filly. She was a smaller Shy, but without wings.
“Don’t overexert yourself Fluttershy,” the doctor urged; as if she would drop her foal even when she was as tired as she was. She held the foal to her teat so it could drink. It moved through her fur a bit searching for her teat.
After the doctor cut the cord he asked her, “Can I take him Fluttershy? She was a surprise, so we should check her health.” He didn’t want to disturb them, but it was better to have angry parents than have a foal with problems.
“I will take her Flutter. She will be checked quickly and then we can rest with both of them, okay?” Mac nodded as he held his hooves out for the foal. Fluttershy allowed him to take the foal.
Soon the foal was on the scale being weighed; 105 pounds, and the height was 35 inches. She was quite healthy as her whine signified. “It’s okay little one, Daddy is here,” Mac said as he kissed her.
The doctor smiled as he handed Mac their second child. “Thank you for letting me share in this wonderful experience,” the doctor said.
Mac smiled. “Thank you doctor, for helping us with the births, albeit one unexpected,” he said smiling.
Before long Fluttershy and Big Mac were in their birthing suite again, Fluttershy letting her foals nurse. Tears were coming from her eyes as they nursed. “Hello there foals, I am your mother, and this is your father….and we love you.”
Mac and Fluttershy sang to them as she stroked Shy.
Fluttershy looked at her husband. “Mac, can we name her Pink Lady?” she asked very tired, her eyes half closed.
Mac nodded.” I like it, Shy and Pink.”
She looked at them. “Shy and Pink… two blessings instead of one.” When they were full from her milk she lifted them. “Our twin foals.”
“Eeyup, our angels,” Mac said agreeing.
Fluttershy closed her eyes as the foals cuddled her, but Shy seemed restless. “Can you take her Mac, I need some sleep…” she sighed.
Mac nodded and took her to a chair. Shy let out a quiet protest, like she wanted to be with her mom. She clinged onto Mac as his scent was imprinted into her brain. Mac smiled at his daughters. “They are beautiful, Flutter,” he said kissing Shy’s forehead.
Flutter smiled as she stroked Pink’s back humming a song as she fell into a well-earned sleep.

Epilogue
One month later
Fluttershy and Big Mac returned to her home to a welcome-home party several days after the birth; the news of her twins spreading fast among her friends and the Apple family. They were treated to praise of their accomplishment. Fluttershy was given an after baby shower to commemorate the unexpected birth. Granny Smith was beside herself upon seeing the twins. Fluttershy was asked by her marefriends how she did it without medication.
They both entered parenthood with great enthusiasm, eager to make the foals smile. They took them out, and to friends’ houses to involve them in as much of their life as they could. They did look forward to them sleeping through the night. Their one month birthday would be a good one.
Fluttershy’s ears perked up to the sound of whining from the other room. She looked at the clock, 3:30 A.M. She kicked Mac. “Why can’t you be the one with the teats to feed them?” she complained.
Mac rolled out of bed grumbling, going to comfort them before their feeding
Fluttershy dragged herself in after a bit, catching her reflection in the foal’s bedroom mirror. She still had a lot of the pregnancy weight; that made her a little cranky. She felt both the weight and her sore teats when she was sleepy, if only she had her old body.
As she finally was in position, Mac let the foals out of their crib. She felt her milk reflexively start to leak from her teats in anticipation of the foal’s mouths. Fluttershy didn’t have to wait long for the foals to latch on. “Good foals,” she said.
Mac crouched next to Fluttershy and rubbed her mane lovingly. “Such a pretty mom and foals,” he said smiling.
Fluttershy murred from the feeling of the foals nursing. She tried to close her eyes and retreat into her maternal instincts. “Good foals, pretty foals, nurse from mommy,” she whispered. Mac kissed his wife, tiredly but happily.
The sound and feeling of the foals nursing lured her into tired contentment. She started to nod off, but was brought out of it by Pink detaching from a teat not wanting to nurse anymore. “Honey,” she said to Mac.
“C’mere Shy,” Mac said as he draped the foal over him and patted her back till she burped. Mac checked to see if Shy needed to be changed before laying her back into the crib.
Flutter stroked Shy. “You sure are greedy aren’t you, and here I thought I would have too much milk for you. Good thing Pink came too. Once she was finished Fluttershy burped her. “Can you change her Mac?” she said as she smelled a dirty diaper.
Once Mac had Shy on the changing table, Fluttershy was holding a towel to her still leaking teats. She winked at Mac and Mooed. He quickly kissed her before resuming changing Shy. Fluttershy stroked Pink before she turned back to Shy and Mac. “I will finish up here, go back to bed Flutter.”
Shy was brought to the crib and laid next to her sister. He then wrapped his hooves around Fluttershy as he spoke. “I love you beautiful mama,” he said.
Fluttershy let out a tear as she stared at their foals lovingly. She then moved into a lullaby. “Soft foal, warm foal, little mass of fur, happy foal, sleepy foal, Murr,mur,murr”
She let out another tear. “I love you both even if you two do exhaust me,” she whispered to the puppies.
“We need sleep dear,” Mac said.
Fluttershy nodded as they quietly walked to their bedroom.
Mac pulled the covers down as he helped Fluttershy into the bed before he crawled in and pulled the covers over the both of them. “Night Flutter.”
She cuddled up to him and kissed him. “See you tomorrow, love.”
“See you then honey,” he said back.

A certain well-built red stallion and a yellow Pegasus walked up to the hospital reception desk. “May I help you?” The receptionist said.
The earth Stallion held Fluttershy close and rubbed her belly, making her moan in delight. “Yes um, Fluttershy here is in labor.”
“How far apart are the contractions?” the receptionist said.
Fluttershy responded in a quiet voice. “Oh uhm…” and then spoke in an almost unintelligible whisper, “ten minutes apart and they have been going for about four hours.”
The nurse nodded and handed over some paperwork as Nurse Redheart took Fluttershy to her room. Big Mac filled out the forms as quickly as he could before he was directed to her room. The room was a sky blue in color, and pictures showing parents of different species holding their young dotted the walls. The scale to weigh their foal was in the far edge of the room. Redheart was finishing hooking up Fluttershy to a new wireless monitor. “Is that new?” Mac said.
“We decided that the wireless version would allow the mothers more freedom of movement.”
Mac sat down next to her and started to rub her back. “How are you feeling dear?”
Fluttershy was liking the backrub and lay a hoof on her stomach. “Good so far.”
“I have faith you can do this,” Mac said before kissing her. He spoke to the nurse afterwards. “Can you bring her some water and ice in case she needs it?” Redheart nodded and left the room.
The doctor came in, smiling. “I’m Doctor Stable and I am going to be your doctor today,” He said going to shake both their hooves.
Flutter responded in a whisper “I’m Fluttershy,” and seemed uncomfortable with shaking his hoof.
Mac shook his hoof. “Nice to meet you.”
The nurse returned with water and ice setting them down next to Mac and smiled. “If you need anything, I am Redheart.”
Fluttershy wasn’t comfortable with all these other ponies being here.
“So is the birth with or without medication?”
“Naturally.” Mac said to the doctor while Fluttershy nodded.
“I can respect that. I just need to check how far along she is.” Fluttershy nodded nervously as the doctor probed between her legs. You are about three centimeters.
The pony patted her belly, “only a matter of time.”
Mac kissed her again. “Not long till we’ll be parents.” The doctor and nurse exited the room to leave them alone for the moment. Fluttershy tensed up and held one of Big Mac’s hooves. He was rubbing her back as he spoke quietly. “Breath, just imagine you and me in that special spot of ours in the apple grove…”
“Apple grove,” she echoed.
“…walking hoof in hoof between the trees,” Mac continued as he kissed her neck. “The apples are shimmering as I pick one for you to eat.”
She took deep breaths imagining what her husband described, her free hoof rested on her belly. Her eyes never closed, as she kept looking at him, mimicking the breathing he was doing. “Hooo,hooo,hooo,hooo, Keep imagining that day. I will always be there for you.”
Mac nodded mimicking her breathing to try and keep her focused. “Hooo,hooo,hooo,hooo,” she was repeating out loud focusing on her breathing.
The contraction ended quickly and Fluttershy let out a sigh while rubbing her stomach. “That wasn’t so bad.”
Mac nodded “You can do it.”
Fluttershy moved one of his hooves to her belly so he could feel the foal kicking. “I can do this as long as you are here,” she said.
“I’m never leaving you” He said smiling as he leaned down and kissed her belly. “I’m sure the foal will be as dependable as you.”
Fluttershy sighed and rubbed a hoof through his mane. “It will be as quiet as you I suspect.”
“Eeyup,” He remarked as he continued to rub her back and stomach.

About an hour later, there was a knock at the door. “Come in,” Mac said.
Nurse Redheart walked in and smiled at them. “Anything I can get you mam?”
Flutter looked at the nurse, slightly out of breath. “Um I wouldn’t mind more pillows, water, and another check.”
Redheart nodded. “Would you like the doctor or I to check?”
She shrugged and whispered. “Well, um it doesn’t matter.”
Redheart left the room and returned with pillows carried on her back and a pitcher of ice water in one hoof. She laid the pillow near Fluttershy and set the water on the table. She washed her hooves, and put gloves on. “Ready for me to check you?” Fluttershy nodded and blushed as she moved her tail aside. The nurse carefully checked her. “You are about six and a half centimeters,” She said before pulling her hoof out and throwing the glove away. “You are doing great Mrs. Fluttershy,” the nurse said. “The first time is almost always slow, but you are handling it well. Need anything else?”
Fluttershy groaned as she looked at Mac. “Can you leave us, nurse?”
“Okay. If you need anything at all, buzz me,” She said rubbing Fluttershy’s back for a second before turning and leaving.
“Mac, this is going so slowly that I don’t know if I can do this,” she said as she looked at Mac.
“You are doing great Flutter. You heard Red, the first ones are slow. I don’t want you to give up on something you want as much as this. I know you are doing great, and I would hate to see you in more pain if they tried to speed it up.”
She hid her face in her arms and cried. “I…I…I’m scared,” she finally admitted.
“You have a right to be scared Flutter, but that doesn’t change that no matter what I won’t leave you.” He was beside the bed, holding her and rubbing her belly. “I know you want it to be natural with no medications that could potentially affect the foal. Also, I know how in pain you are and how scared you are…. if there were anything more I could do to remove the pain from your body I would. I promised you I would keep you from the drugs no matter how much you begged and I am going to keep that promise.” She looked at him as she cried. She tried to speak her feelings, but the emotions kept her from doing so. She spoke with her lips instead. “I love you so much,” she whispered.
He returned the kiss. “I love you more than anything, and I will love our foal too. I just want you both happy and healthy.”
She smiled before moaning in pain again and going into her Lamaze breathing.
“Hooo,hooo,hooo,hooo….”
“That’s it, you know what to do,” He said continuing to rub her back while kissing her neck. “I am here for you,” he said again.
