Loyalty

Behind a largly puff of clouds, streamers were hung, tables were set, and pegasi rounded the place. This must be where Soarin's party is being held. We arrived at a gate. Two bulk ponies guarded the area. They did not hesitate to open the gate for us. Seems like they knew who I was.

"Over here, Dash!," Spitfire called out to me as she headed over to a private cloud booth. I scooted in with her, only to meet the birthday pony.

"Oh, hey Miss Dash. I heard you're going to perform a Sonic Rainboom in honor of my birthiversary, huh?," he smiled and directed to me.

"Hehe yeah, it's no problem. I can do a Sonic Rainboom in my sleep!" Maybe I exaggerated a little too much.

"Great!," he exclaimed. This is gonna be awesome.

Hours passed, and it was my time to shine. The fireworks were lit, and next was the Sonic Rainboom. All the pegasi, including Soarin, sat in a crowd in front of a small cloud shack. I stood, patiently, behind the shack with Spitfire.

"Are you ready, Rainbow Dash?," she glanced at me with gratitude. I took a deep breath, beated down my hooves, swished my mane, and passionently accepted the signal.

"Ready." She slowly raised the cannon pistol into the air.

"Go!" The sound buzzed into my ear faster than Pinkie Pie talks when she has a lot to say. I quickly flung myself into the air, closest to the moon as I could get without going off into the lithosphere.

"It's Dash time!" My wings propelled my body, like a bullet, back towards Equestria. Winds ripped through my mane and ears. My eyes let out liquid pride; the speed was incredibly speedy. The muscles in my wings stringed out, gaining more power to go faster. I was getting close enough to the ground to push back up. My snout nearly touched Soarin's as I flew back up into the sky, creating a rainbow swirl. A rainbow circle grew larger in the night; a boom filled everyponies' ears. "You did good today, Dash. You did good." I assured myself as I flew back to the ground. The party was killer. I had a fun time, and everypony was happy. "Best party EVER!," Soarin hoof-bumped me. This day was an awesome success. If only my friends could have seen me today!
