A Sister's Jealousy

I wake up in my cloud home above Ponyville. My alarm clock keeps blaring it's noise until I press the button to make it stop. I go to the bathroom and brush my teeth. I look at my reflection and look at my light blue mane. Today was the day where I go out and meet some new ponies. I just recently moved into Ponyville about a couple of weeks ago and I haven't had the chance to meet with other ponies.

My name is Drew. I'm a purple pegasus with blue hair. I was born with a disability. It's that I can't quite see very clearly, so I have to wear glasses most of the time, therefore it's kind of difficult for me to fly. Sometimes my glasses fall of, so I usually stay close to a surface in case that kind of thing happens. I moved out of my parents house just so that I can make a living in Ponyville. I made enough bits to buy a house over Ponyville. I only have one neighbor, but I never had the chance to go talk to that pony because I haven't settled in my house yet. I just need some furniture and a bed and that should be everything that I need at the moment. I already had a kitchen and didn't need to worry about anything involving food at the moment. I look around my suitcases and look for some nice clothes. I found a nice white shirt and a pair of brown jeans. I went to go get my prized possession, 'The Artists Bracelet' My parent's called it that cause they made the bracelet themselves, since being an artisan runs in the family. They just gave it a silly name, but I never really told that to anypony.

After I finish getting dressed, I go into my living room and start unpacking some paintings I made. My special talent is actually painting because I have this great artistic quality that runs in the family. I made lots of paintings for my school. When my school took in to making clubs, they had an idea for an art club and I was one of the first ponies to join. Soon after, I was elected president of the art club at school. Other schools held the same kinds of activities that held competitions with other schools. Our art club won these competitions repeatedly for five years. Once we had our fifth medal, I saw a flash coming from my flank and saw it was a paintbrush with red paint on it. My cutie mark had finally come!

I put up the last painting I made that had a pony posing on a couch. I put it on the floor and looked around the room. I decided to put it up on the wall that was next to the doorway that leads to the kitchen. "Perfect," I said. "Now I just need to find some furniture and then I'll finally get the chance to see my neighbor!"

I fly down to Ponyville and trot around the Town Square and eventually find a place that sold furniture. When I walked in, the pony at the counter said, "Welcome to the Sofa and Quill Store! Where we fill your sofa and quill needs!" He said with a smug smile.

I walk up to the counter and ask, "What kind of furniture do you sell here?"

"We only sell sofas and quills, sir." the pony said. "That's all we sell."

"Are there any other stores that sell more furniture than just sofas?"

"Not that I'm aware of," the pony scratched his chin. "I'm sorry sir. This is the only furniture store that I know of."

I guess I can sleep on a sofa "How much for one sofa?"

"20 bits, my good sir!"

I handed the pony 20 bits and walked out with a nice blue sofa. I didn't have anywhere else to put it, so I had to leave it in my living room. I looked out the window and saw my neighbor fly outside her house. I ran outside to go and meet my new neighbor. I saw that it was female, due to her size. She was wearing red jeans and a brown shirt. As I walk up to her, she turns around and greets me.

"Hi there! My name's Rainbow Dash. I see that you're my new neighbor. Come with me and I'll show you around Ponyville. I'm sure that my friends are willing to meet you. Especially Pinkie Pie. She's always throwing a party to anypony that is new in town. I'm sure you've already met her."

I hand out my hoof and she accepts the gesture. "My name's Drew."

"Drew, huh? That's a nice name, I guess." Rainbow Dash says. She turns around and flies down towards Ponyville. I follow her, holding my glasses in my hoof, but I am slowly flying, so I can't keep up with Rainbow Dash.

"Come on, slowpoke! What's holding ya?" she yelled to me in question. She was really far away. Really close to Sugarcube Corner. I knew what it was because I passed by it a lot when I was wandering around Ponyville. One time when I was passing by, a pink pony named Pinkie Pie jumped out of nowhere and started saying things about how I was new in town and she didn't know me and I should have a party. It was a really fun party. I became Pinkie Pie's friend after that, but I really wanted to know my neighbor more.

"I need to hold my glasses while flying so that I can see," I yell back, just so she can hear me. "I was born with really bad eyesight."

"Oh. Well, I guess that's okay." she said once I caught up with her. "Come on, let's go to Sugarcube Corner. It's right here." She pointed at the gingerbread like mansion with her hoof. "I'm sure my friend Pinkie Pie will be happy to see you. But I'm guessing that you two already met." she repeated.

I nodded in agreement. "She threw a party for me when I was wandering around Ponyville. After that, she became my friend."

"Sweet. You'll love Pinkie's parties. They're the best in Equestria!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, throwing her hooves in the air excitedly.

"I see. Did she throw you a party when you came to Ponyville?" I asked.

"Actually no. I didn't meet her until Twilight came around, going off about the Elements of Harmony and stuff. We decided to help her out and eventually found out that we all have the Elements of Harmony within ourselves. She then pursued to learn more about the Magic of Friendship by learning it from all of us. But now that she's a princess, she's kinda stopped and just sat around her castle doing her royal duties."

"When you say that, it sounds like a bad thing."

"Ehh. Don't worry about it." Rainbow Dash says.

"Anyways, where is everypony? It looks deserted." I ask Rainbow Dash.

"I don't know. I did overhear something about Pinkie Pie making a party for somepony and she never said who. And some reason, no pony told me where they were gonna do it!" she said.

We walk into Sugarcube Corner and find only Mrs. Cake inside. "Oh hi, Rainbow Dash. Pinkie said something about a party in Twilight's house." Mrs. Cake said. "Mr. Cake is already there. I'm just here to look over Pumpkin and Pound Cake and to watch over the store."

"Cool." Rainbow Dash said, heading for the door. "Have fun with those two!"

I follow Rainbow Dash and wave Mrs. Cake goodbye. When we are right in front of Twilight's door, Rainbow Dash puts a blindfold on me. "Hey! What are you doing?" I yell out to Rainbow Dash.

"Don't worry. I just put a blindfold on you."

"Why?" I ask her.

I hear Twilight's door opening and then Rainbow Dash flings the blindfold off my eyes. And the entire house looks pitch black because all the lights were off. I walk inside and then somepony turns on the lights, showing the room filled with ponies. When they all see me, they all yelled, "SURPRISE!"

"Agh!" I yelled, dropping my glasses. "Don't scare me like that, Rainbow Dash! Why did you get everypony just to scare me? Isn't that a little extreme here?" I eventually found my glasses, which were levitated by Twilight's magic as she trotted over to me.

"Drew, you're funny. I'm not trying to scare you! Pinkie told me that your birthday was today. You just didn't know about it." Rainbow Dash said.

"Wow. I can't believe I forgot my own birthday. How funny is this day going to be?"

Pinkie Pie hopped over to me and said, "Don't worry, Drew! I had that same thing happen to me once." she says. She turned towards Twilight and Rainbow Dash, then turned back saying, "I'm just glad that I still have the same friends that I have now. Haha!"

"I guess this can still be a good day for me, huh?"

"Hey Drew," Rainbow Dash said. "How's about you see me later tomorrow so I can show you a little bit more about myself. I can tell you've been dying to meet me, so I guess that this is okay."

"Yeah! I'd love to, Rainbow Dash." Drew said.

The rest of the party went swell. The cake was the best part for the party. I tried the cake and it was chocolate with chocolate frosting on it. It was great, except Pinkie Pie got a stomach ache from eating it. Twilight got her into a bed and helped her, but besides that, I enjoyed my time. When the party was over, Rainbow Dash stopped me before I could leave and introduced me to another pony I didn't see at the party.

"Hey Drew!" Rainbow Dash said. "This is my little sister, Scootaloo."

"Hey there, Scootaloo." I said. "You two don't quite look alike, really."

"Well, I took her in as a sister. We're not biological, as Ms. Egghead says," Rainbow Dash points to Twilight. I just shrugged, laughing and Rainbow Dash continued saying, "Well, I can't wait to see you tomorrow! Hoof bump!" We both bumped hooves and then I took off.

I flew home afterwards. I had a nice day with my neighbor and I already have plans to hang out with her! Once I settled in my home, I went to bed. I got rid of all the boxes in my house and soon enough, I got all of my paintings on the walls. And when I wake up in the morning, I'll get to see Rainbow Dash and I'll get my chance to get to know her better.
