Chapters A Princess with a Heavy Wish
Chapter 2 : Hard Explanations
I awoke once again to the ch-Zion crying. I nuzzled him softly a for a few moments until he calmed down to a slight whimper. Just then I had realized I had fallen asleep with him wrapped in my legs and wings, still in the guarden.
"Tia, what are you doing out here with that?" I had heard Luna ask, sounding like she was almost horrified.
I pressed my hoof to my lips, giving her their usual sign of to be quiet. I slowly, and carefully stood up to meet her gaze. "He's a gift from our parents Luna, he is what I've been looking for!" I whisper-yelled with a smile across my face. I pointed to Zion on he rested in the basket made of leaves. "He even bares the mark of our parents. A pure creation!"
She hummed to herself as she approached Zion almost as though she were in a nursery. Her head lowered to examine his body, and with a quieted gasp, she looked at me with wide eyes. "His eyes are yours my sister, look!"
I saw that Zion was smiling at the sight of me, I of course smiled back. His eyes were a beautiful shade of light pink like mine were, and his red mane had bits of purple in it, much like Twilight's hair. However the shade of purple matched that of my own mane, well one-third of it. Still, nonetheless he had my eyes which made me tear up slightly more.
Where the note was resting on his chest from last night was a symbol the royal family used, however, it was beginning to fade away much like a fake tattoo. My sister had seen my reaction to the eyes, her was slightly different, shock. The reaction I had was that of a mother finding out the color of the eyes to match her's or her mate's.
Zion babbled slightly, trying to grasp my snout. I chuckled, nuzzling him, which happened to cause him to laugh one of those full belly laughs which would cause even the darkest of hearts to laugh along. I began laughing, smiling like I haven't before in a thousand or so years. He gummy smile he had on his face, that was pure, pure as the crystal heart.
"Tia...This is a great change..." Luna sighed softly, sitting down on her haunches with a smile plastered across her face. I could tell she was honestly happy, just to see me smile.
I nodded to her positive statement. "I agree sister...my heart...it feels that as though somepony has taken a heavy burden." I said as I continued to hold and occasionally nuzzeling him in the stomach to laugh more. "I love his laugh!" I cried, chuckling with my sister who found his laughs as enjoyable as I had found them.
She took deep breaths, trying to calm down, but her smile was stuck on her face. Soon, she made it to the point where she could speak without laughing, I however continued to chuckle, but paid attention to her. "So, Tia..If this is to be your son, and my new nephew, what is his name?"
"Zion, his name is Zion Everfree." I replied, bringing him to a hug.
"I also have a couple more questions." She moved closer to sit next to me, and whispered. "How are you going to feed it? It doesn't even have any teeth. And most importantly, how will you explain that you have adopted him to all of Equestia?"
I nodded, having already quickly come up with the perfect plan. "Tell them what has been going on, and when I mean tell them, I mean everything, from the past two years."
Luna nodded, smiling at Zion. "My prince, we will do everything in our power to help Equestria accept you." She whispered into his ear as gently as a feather falling. "Sister, I hope you will not hold back on your explanation because I wish to know the answer as well."
"Of course Luna!" I hissed. "I would not lie to you, or our subjects."
She seemed to take my words as a oath, like she always did, but it wasn't like she had to worry, I was planning on telling the full truth.
Luna stood up before giving a silent bow before off to finish lowering the moon. I used my magic to place the sun over the castle through the solar gate and it shown a light that all of Equestia could see. This was a symbol, a beacon to gather all to hear an important announcement I had to give.
However, doubts raised inside of my mind at that point. Would everypony accept him to be their new prince? Would the nobles or even my guard find the time to talk to him, and protect him. How would he be thought of by the kingdom in a whole. These questions began to plague my mind like a resistant virus that could wipe the world in only a couple years. I had the right to worry, this was Zion, my son, the future prince of Equestria.
If they tried to attack him at my announcement, I would, without any prejudice, kill. I didn't know why had this feeling, I had only just made him my own, yet, it felt like I had carried him. As if false memories of pregnancy made its way into my mind like water, filling my head with untold happiness over my success to bare a child. I knew, well enough, that these memories were fake, sadly. As much as I wished these false memories were just that, false, I would feel much happier.
I stood up, with Zion atop my back, protected by my wings, and my eyes were scanning for any unwanted dangers, not that I wanted danger. I just wanted Zion to be safe, a any cost that it would take me to keep him that way.
But then, I had noticed I hadn't yet marked him as my own. Yes, he had a name to go by in which I had newly called him by, but, as the oldest Equine tradition went, I would need to give him a bath. Every newborn was giving a bath, one by toung.
So, with that in mind, I headed to my bed chambers, or rather our chambers to give him a bath.
It was noon now, the sun was still in the same spot as it was when I raised it this morning when I woke up with Zion in the gardens. Luna was still up, but she looked rather but slightly fatigued. She stood out on the Royal Announcemnt Balcony, awaiting my union to speak. I looked carefully at Zion, his face was slightly pudgy, but a content look was on his face.
At last, after more than ten minutes of waiting, and preparing myself, I stepped out with Zion still hidden from view. The crowd cheered for a moment, until I waved them to quiet down. Zion didn't seemed to be affected by the sudden noise, but looked as though he was tired.
"Everypony, please...There is some news I feel as though I should share with you, both good, and bad." I paused, trying to come up with the right words to say. Just a single wrong word could change whether or not they would accept Zion. "I am unable to bare a child of my own. Those of you who've tried to help me with this problem, I still thank you for your services as princess of Equestria, I know you tried to help me. No normal modern magic is able to help me." I sniffed, I didn't know why, but I could tell the crowd was moved. "However, I have received a gift that powers beyond me. A gift that has already given me a smile I lost long ago."
I slowly moved my wings down, revealing Zion, sitting on my back. It was quiet for a moment, then I heard clopping. Suddenly the whole crowd was cheering. My heart soured upwards into the sky, and I felt myself wanting to sigh in relief. I was so worried that no pony would accept Zion, but at least Canterlot saw this as a moment to celebrate. So, seeing how this was a celebration:
"Today, everypony has off, and the palace gates will be open for all to see Zion. Do not feel as though you need to bring gifts my ponies, however that doesn't mean I won't accept them." The crowd cheered more, probably because they got a day off, it didn't matter to me. A day off meant they got to see Zion. I turned to a couple guards, one of them being Hammer. "If you do not mind sirs, could you stay while the rest of the guard has off? I'm sure I can find something to make it up ten-fold for your services."
Hammer nodded, but raised his hoof. "May I ask you a question princess?"
"Is it an idea to repay you?"
He nodded once again. "I want to train him, that's it. If he's to be living in the castle, I want to be the one to train him to use a sword."
"And what about you Steel Wing?"
"A raise, five percent, or whatever you can make it."
I chuckled at his idea. "I'll make it fifteen percent if you are willing to do this."
"You got me at the fifteen percent ma'am." He joked. "I will, for Zion. Little guy looks cute with that face of his anyways."
"I thank you for this sirs. You have my up most gratitude."
"Tis only a pleasure princess." Hammer bowed. "I will go ahead and start working on a good sword for the little guy."
"You under stand he won't start until he can lift a blade correct?"
He nodded, smiling more. "Only gives me more time to work on it! I am a unicorn, so I can enchant it as well, and maybe my wife can help. She likes working with the forge."
"I suggest making the sword one point five times larger. Who knows how big he'll get."
We continued to talk while we walked through the castle. Guards and maids had quickly checked out, all but the chefs wanted to leave, saying that they didn't want to leave me dry. So I doubled the chefs' pay, and they made a small meal for Zion.
Honestly, I was worried they wouldn't accept Zion to be my son. Really, I wasn't expecting this at all. I was thinking somepony might boo, but nothing. Nothing bad happened, which was quite shocking.
I approached my chamber door as Zion had began to sleep, using his tiny hands to grip the fur on my back. Using my magic, I lifted Zion over to my bed, and while it was only four, I still was tired from last night. So I laid down next to him, and closed my eyes hummed a melody a good cellist played.
I think it was called "Prelude to the Groove". It is a masterful piece if I haven't said before, and I would love to here it once again. Maybe I could invite her ensemble, oh, and perhaps I would need to also invite her mare-friend. Is that what her mother complained about? I couldn't see a problem about that. That's all she spoke about during the last gala. It was quite annoying.
So as I hummed, I opened my eyes to see Zion turned, looking at me. I was out of myself while I hummed. Zion was looking at me, and he grabbed my snout. He didn't look newly born, but his teeth weren't in yet. I smiled, and licked his eyes.
There, he was mine, and no pony would hurt him. I would defend him at any cost.
"Fffiiiaaa-ah." Zion babbled.
"No Zion, it's Tea-ya."
"Tia!"
I would admit there, I used a spell to help him know my name. I'm sure he was okay, he just smiled more as he squeezed my snout with his weak, small hands. I just wanted to make sure he knew I was his, and he was mine. It was a unicorn way to help the child unlock their magic.
That was one thing Zion had, and there was a lot of it. He had two little bumps on his back where two little wings. I smiled, knowing how much I get to teach him, and have others teach him many, many things. Magic, flight, and combat training, perhaps Octavia could teach him music. He can be talented as I was. I could already tell he was smart, I was already beginning to combat by the time I was ten. I was trained by a Nordic God, and he was quite handsome.
I won't however push any of this on him. He will have his own opinion when he is older. I won't make the same mistake as I did to Luna. Not ever again.
I was about to lay down when there was a knock at my door. So I opened it from where Zion and I were, and it was Hammer, he didn't look to good. He was out of breath and a look of horror was on his face.
"Is there a problem Hammer?"
He nodded very, very slowly, his whole body was shaking. "Nobles thought it would be a good idea to start a riot near the main gates. The crowd is shouting words I never thought they would say directly to you?"
I raised a brow. "Such as?"
He gulped rather loudly. "Whrose....princess....they called you many more names I rather would not like to repeat."
There was only one word I could think of at that moment. "Buck...."
He nodded. "Yeah...buck indeed..."

Chapter 3 : A Horror and Peace
I took a very deep breath. Zion was laying in my throne, being protected by Luna, and standing behind her was Hammer. Standing ten steps away were a crowd of two thousand nobles, and another four thousand middle class ponies. I suppose this was my own fault, I set this up by telling them I had sex with over twenty stallions who were all middle class, expect for the class part. Still, I was in some deep shit at this point.
So yeah, here I was about to be kicked in the flank were it hurts. Either that or I might lose the throne, at best Luna would stay in place only to put me back later on when things settled. I had a dozen wards up to protect myself from any attacks.
"Perhaps we can settle this without anypony getting hurt." I said calmly. "You can't blame anypony for anything. I was desperate to bare a foal. I made sure they were all single, I swear it."
"And what about the rest of the kingdom princess?!" A few ponies shouted. "Yeah, and about us?!"
"It was my plan when I was done with this."
"How can we trust our ruler if she doesn't tell us if she's trying to fuck the whole kingdom?" A higher noble demanded. "Our princess is a whorse!"
"I am no such thing."
"Really? You aren't a whorse? Maybe your just a sad princess who's trying to be happy?" He chuckled softly shaking his head.
"All these ponies agree with me to think you'd even to as ruin the rest of Equestria to bring another major power. The economy has already suffered from princess Twilight and her group of super ponies!" He stomped his hooves on the floor. "All of Canterlot is here!" His eyes narrowed. "Except the ones you fucked."
My sister spoke up. "Enough!" Her voice caused Zion to start crying.
I flew swiftly over to him, and nuzzled his face gently. It was smooth as can be, a gentle nuzzle caused to to slightly cry. I stomped back over after casting a sleep spell on Zion so he wouldn't wake up. The whole castle shook, as pillars turned into huge battering rams. Four floated behind me, I felt so angry, my wings were flared, and the temperature of the room shot above one hundred.
I broke the sheild blocking attacks on both sides. They melted like hot butter as I passed through them. "If I am a bad ruler that I would be damned to forgive such a awful way to show who raises the sun, and brings light to all the land. Without me, you'd be all slaves of Discord!" I stomped on the floor cracking the stone into the ground. "I DARE YOU TO HARM ME OR MY SON YOU SCUM! FOR IT IS WITHOUT MY OWN PERSONAL WORD OF LORDSHIP UPON YOUR HOUSEHOLD !" He was missing on the floor in fear while others have stepped back. By now all of Canterlot heard me. "YOU ARE TO LOSE YOUR TITLE AS LORD AND ARE BANNED FROM ENTERING CANTERLOT! BE LUCKY I DON'T HAVE THE HEART TO HURT ANOTHER LIVING BEING FOR SUCH TREASON! YOU ARE EVEN LUCKIER FOR NOT BEING SENT TO THE SUN FOR A THOUSAND YEARS !......"I has taking huge breaths, each had bursts of tiny licks of flame. I was seething with anger and hate. "BECAUSE IT IS YOU WHO HAS SUCH TESTICULAR FORTITUDE TO SAY SUCH RUDE ACCUSATIONS TOWARDS A MARE WHO CANNOT BARE A CHILD! "
He ran away screaming in horror while others were all awestruck. Even my sister was left in shock from my anger. "S-sister...Please....calm down....I have not seen you like this before!"
I used a mirror, and saw my eyes glowing red crossed with orange slits and gray eyes. I blinked in horror, turning back into my normal self. Then I sat back, tearing up. "Oh my...." I began to cry, sobbing at my own injustice. The smell of fresh urine filled my nose, making myself cry harder. I teleported away with Zion into my room.
Some how Zion woke up, but looked at me, his eyes were red as well. Over time they began to whiten, but we were in my room for six hours now. I held him in my hooves crying, telling him everything was somehow alright. I could tell he knew I was sad. His thoughts somehow reached mine, and his babbling became real words.
He didn't know what was wrong, but he wanted me to stop crying. He said he loved me, but wanted to stop crying. I sniffed at his somehow complete sentences which made me question how hold he really was. When I asked him, he told me he was two years old at his point, and that he aged as a pony would but much longer. He could understand everypony, but it made me wonder how he was so intelligent for a baby. Zion was young, but he said he's been trying to enter Equestia though me for two full years.
At that moment I finally understood how he was so intelligent. Zion was watching me suffer up in the summerlands and has been trying to enter this world through the passage of life. He can't remember anything about his past life, that is what I got before he fell asleep.
Then I felt another spell pass over me, he had been using his soul, but not his body. The soul and mind are two different things. The soul knows things beyond living understanding, but can only give life to the mind so it can gain more as it can't touch the physical world. The body can do one massive thing when it is young, and that can do anything, even use it's soul to speak for it. Well, the soul can control his body for a short time, before the mind pushes itself back.
I now had the privilege to speak to a pure soul before it could leave. He spoke with words that I hardly understood, or nearly forgotten. The high dialect was something I was once good at casting old spells with. However I only understood little of what he said, but filled in the lines, sort of guessing his true words.
I felt a tingle of my horn which meant I had a letter waiting from Twilight. I pushed it out, and it formed from purple flame. It was a request to enter Canterlot for an emergency. I sighed, kissing Zion on the cheek. "I am going need to speak with Twilight...possibly the rest of the elements too...aren't I?"
"Balgawa!" Zion babbled kicking around happily.
I sighed. "You're probably right Zion....Twilight is going to freak out...Tartarus...Cadence probably felt my anger too..." I kicked a book into the wall. "Son of a bitch!" I slammed my face into the wall a few times until I had enough of hurting myself.
Not willing to deal with much more of this I went ahead and chose to get it over with. I picked Zion back up, and teleported into the throne room where Twilight was gasping for air while her friends were recovering from mass-long distance-teleportation, I sat down with Zion sitting in front of me, gazing down at Twilight who looked quite shocked.
"You had a foal?!" She continued to gasp for air. "Is that it?!"
I nodded, raising my hoof. "I suppose it is Twilight, he quite literally cried out for me. " I stated matter-of-factually. "This is Zion, Zion Everfree!"
Fluttershy flew over, and looked at him with much curiosity. "He doesn't...look like a pony to me..."
"That's because he was made!" I smiled. "By my parents,-" I teleported the note to her. "-see?"
Her jaw dropped, and Rainbow Dash dashed to catch her from hitting the floor. I chuckled, showing Rainbow Dash as well, but she only shrugged. "I don't even know what that's supposed to mean....Should I?" She looked to Twilight and asked.
Twilight glided over to me, reading the whole note. She gasped a couple of times, then a small smile on her face grew. "Congratulations princess! I'm glad you have another student! Maybe I can teach him a thing or two...oh! He can be my prized pupil!"
I shook my head, laughing. "I don't quite think so Twilight, not yet anyways. He is still too young to walk, let alone read a two thousand page essay report on magical theory."
Twilight blushed. "I did that because you told me to put my time into my essay." She looked at Zion. "So...I heard you yelling from the basement of my castle....twenty stories down...Mind explaining what happened?"
My ears fell as I explained my dreadful act of becoming that of what I hated the most. I told them how I yelled at him, and how bad I felt to the stallion who I just ruined forever. She didn't say anything, I'm sure she didn't even know what to say to me. I knew she was quite shocked at my behavior. I am always kind like Fluttershy and forgiving as well. but that stallion I just couldn't tolerate calling me a whorse for actually trying to become a mother.
Pinkie Pie I could tell didn't look like she was all too happy. Just a small frown was across her face as she looked at me with pained eyes. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were just still as could be, while Rarity was crying while Applejack held her. I frowned upon my self as I looked at Zion who was hugging my left leg with all his tiny might, laughing playfully.
"So you see...." I sniffed while Luna was holding me. Discord had managed to enter the room while he was looking for Fluttershy to have tea with. "I wouldn't have that...nothing bad will ever happen to Zion while I stand."
"I don't see what the problem there is princess...I mean...the stallion had it coming to him...Who was dumb enough to think to take on you?" Rainbow Dash asked. She laughed to herself standing up. "I mean really!? Who does that shit? Was he high to think he could take on you? HA! Not even Discord can take you and he's as powerful as it comes." I could see the double complement there, Discord only caught the insult though. I flashed a smile to him while Rainbow Dash was looking away.
"Such kind words Rainbow Dash...you are too kind to my sister." Luna said softly. "She just feels bad for ruining another's life because they committed a crime."
"Buck'm!" Hammer spat. "That kid has potential! I see it! He'd make a great caption in the future, and I'll stand by him too!" He trotted up to Zion, and looked dead into his pink eyes. "I maybe a unicorn kid, but I ain't one of those selfish bastards that think just because they're unicorns they get to be lords. I'm a lord myself kid! I worked to get this title of Caption-Lord Hammer Fall of Canterlot! Not sneak up the social chain to get to a bucking gala long enough to be rich for ten lifetimes!" He chuckled stepping away. "Nope...not at all. I work, not cheat."
"Might make you a Count when you retire." Luna joked.
"So does this make us godmothers, or aunts?" Applejack asked. "You know...of Zion?"
I chuckled, kissing Zion on his forehead. "Both really." I replied. "Which makes you all Ladies." I looked to Hammer who was just sitting on the steps of the throne. "You look entertained..."
"I'm just going to sit here, watch this little scene go by and wonder when I can go home to smoke a royal blunt...." He kissed his hoof, and threw it into the air. "Yep...can't wait..."

Chapter 4 : Earth Watches over Heaven and the Sun Looks Too
It's been roughly about a month since Riot Day, can't exactly say much about my month though. Little did I know Zion was very active. He always seemed to be looking at something when I'm not next to him. I wish I knew what he was looking at, so I could look to. I wonder if he's confused about why he can't talk, or why he can't walk. In short I felt bad about him not knowing what's what.
However, that is why he is a child and I am an adult. Well actually my age doesn't matter, but my body is that of a twenty-six year old pony. I'm in my prime, awaiting for some form of an adventure. I haven't been on one in quite sometime. My last adventure was my search for my parents. They came down with Luna and I when we saw the ponies having trouble with the sun and moon. We showed them our power, and made it well known to all that we had only wished to help further their survival.
The adventure lasted almost two years until we arrived in Equestria during a battle between our parents and a army of spirits of disorder. The battle was violent, lasting even longer than our adventure to find our missing parents. In the end only a new born by the name of Discord eventually became a friend. He was orderly until he lost his mind.
That day, when he captured an insane unicorn, lusting over power, driven mad by the warp that filled his mind. When Discord had cured the unicorn, we didn't know Discord took the power and knowledge, thus beginning the Discord War. Lasted a thousand years with Equestria under his paw and the world in his talons. Of course that only lasted until we found the elements of harmony, and turning him to stone.
Many years later things had quieted down, Luna returned and repented. Discord returned twice, only had to turn him to stone once more until he chose to use his powers for that of a more, peaceful nature. Of course that came with more problems. Queen of the Changelings, King Somber, Equestria had no rest when Twilight found the elements of harmony. With them in-tune with their souls, it became a weirdness magnate, causing evil to rise to destroy the only threat they ever truly had to fear.
Back to today I suppose. Discord had came by to Zion only once, then teleported away saying something about, running away from him. I didn't know what caused him to fear Zion, wish I knew though, but didn't really care much at all. As long as he did not lay a finger on him, I'll be content until such a time comes.
Honestly though, as I took a quick look over at Zion. He was sleeping in his new crib, a couple plush dolls of me and Luna wrapped in his arms. Zion looked so peaceful, sleeping with his wings loosely hanging behind him. His red mane drafting over his face, but his small pudgy smile showing, just slightly.
I giggled, returning back to my journal, writing about how I felt. I had sixty other journals with entries from up to five-hundred years ago when I had started. I felt like a whole new mare, my heart didn't pump because it had to anymore, it pumped with vigor, life and energy. When Zion came to me, and I knew he was mine, it felt like I was reborn. A new life force had fallen over me, giving me a new purpose.
I saw my chamber door open, a small green head poked through, and I smiled. "Terra!" I leaped over the desk, tackling the mare. I didn't worry about Zion, damn kid could sleep though a world war, probably three of them.
Terra giggled. "Hey Tia, how's it goin'?" She asked. "I came to see Zion, is that okay?"
I nodded. "Well of course, the prince is over here." She chuckled, teleporting over next to Zion.
Terra seemed to smile, her red mane and tail. seemed to run long over her face and over the floor. Her cutie mark was a rose, and her eyes were a soft blue like a winter sky. "He's almost a year old by the looks of it princess." She said quietly. Maybe I should tell her Zion is a heavy sleeper. "You know he's not going to be really accepted. By now, all of Equestia has heard of the new prince. I wonder how he'll take not being accepted as you are."
I snorted in disgust. "Riot Day showed me this Terra." She saw the look on my face, and pouted.
"I'm sorry, I was with Canterlot on that day." She said. "If you hate me, I understand."
I enclosed her in my wings. "Terra, I do not hate you. You are a friend, and one of the few ponies who treat me as equal."
She nodded, and began to smile. "Thank you princess...I was hoping you wouldn't return me to my home country. Evil place is evil."
"I wouldn't dare banish somepony I worked very hard to keep alive." She smiled wider at that. I could tell she had something on her mind. Her eyes showed it all, her mind wasn't too quiet either, not that I was reading it or anything. "So tell me Terra, why are you here today?"
"Right, that..." She sat down, with a long sigh. "I came here to let you know that I am truly sorry for my transgressions upon your crown...and his." Terra gave a sad look over to Zion as he slept. "What I did was foolish, and you being one of my best friends, I felt like apologizing for what I did."
I waved a hoof before hugging her. "I understand, confusion is normal. You were confused, that stallion, he knew what was going on."
She shook her head, pushing me away. "Sorry princess, but that just won't due." She stood proud. "To make it up to Zion, I will become his adviser if you shall let me. I will make sure he gets proper treatment, and good care while you are in your meetings which you are so far behind on."
"Alright, fine, Terra I will grant you this only because you saved me a lot of time, and...I don't want to repress your traditions. If you feel that this will make up for what you've done, then fine. Just know that I forgave you."
Terra said her goodbyes and all was left well. She said she would return soon to see how much Zion has planned. Being a prince he had many things to do. Blueblood did the same thing while he was growing up. The money he had corrupted his soft heart, but Zion didn't. I could tell, deep down Zion was connected to me in some way.
The first time I thought this, was Riot Day. His eyes were glowing red, but faded when he saw I was alright. To think, how close is this child to be actually mine. Perhaps there would be a father too! I looked to Zion, he rolled in his bed, and opened his pink eyes with a happy smile.
"Hey buddy!" I said moving up to him with a smile meeting his gummy one.
"Tea-ya!" he fumbled to help keep his body up. I picked him up with a giggle. "Aaaaaya! Tea-y-a!"
"You're learning Zi!" I nuzzled his belly causing him to giggle uncontrollably. "You like that huh~!?"
I blew a raspberry into his belly, and he exploded into laughter. The kind of laughter that could cleanse a soul that of a demon, or Hades for that matter. It was so pure, I nearly forgot I still had papers to sign. We were playing for well over an hour, and I could tell he was pooped . So I put him back down, and began writing more, perhaps a journal about my time with Zion. He could even write his own when he learns enough.
Side note: Oh colt...
A Princess with a Heavy Wish
Yes, there are days where I wish I was normal. Days when greed filled hearts come to complain, and it is those days I wish I was a pony. I would deal with an earth pony even! However, I never got that. I was born when the sun reset, it wiped most of all life on Earth, and gave birth to magic from the excess energy that remained. Never completely understood my birth, and as for my sister, she was a construct of moon rocks that took its own shape. A beautiful shape I might add...
I was born from the sun expanding and exploding, and I was born. I gave light to the whole world with just my birth. It was my duty from birth to move the sun. The world was resetting by our parent's design. My mother never told me what lived before. She only told me that there was a race of creatures that were extremely violent, and they where going to destroy the universe. I learned that peace is what is keeping our world from destruction. From what my mother told me, it would be wise to keep it that way.
Soon after Zion ate his dinner, I placed him in his crib. I took a moment to smile at his face. He gave a blank stare, but I didn't really care. He looked cute just looking at me, and his pink eyes showed the burning flame of life in his eyes. It felt like he was more than what he looked like. Frankly, I was still confused. I've been trying to use different spells to try to find his father, but the errors just keep piling up. It was like his father existed, but didn't. I was about to slam my head into a wall, but I decided against it because it would be a horrible idea.
A few hours eventually passed doing nothing but signing more papers and waiting to see if Hammer would come to tell me I had work to do outside of my room. I figured I would need to go speak to him. It's been almost two days from the last time I was needed to speak to a pompous noble. I took a few moments to stretch my legs, they had fallen asleep from inactivity, and my rather large posterior didn't help but I took pride in my flank. My consorts didn't complain that's for sure. So when I got out of my room after taking a last look at Zion while he peacefully slept I started to walk around the castle, looking for Hammer.
I didn't know how long I was walking alone in the grand halls of the palace, humming a slight melody, and taking my time to casually walk. I was making my way, and a way it was to take a break. I had been keeping Luna back for far too long in terms of duties. While I was doing this I heard a small bell ring in my head. I looked around and saw Discord standing on the other end of the hall.
He didn't look too happy, I motioned him to get to me. He complied, and began walking with me. He didn't speak a word, which was by fact, strange, and unlike the Spirit of Chaos like I knew. I looked to him, hoping I could find something out, but all he did was look onwards. I was starting to worry if something was wrong. All he did was look on down the curved hall with clear glass windows, and even the aura around his body seemed to be more tame that it should be. Twilight would consider this to be as serious as a serious Pinkie Pie, which was a rarity like Rarity stealing, and Rainbow Dash being disloyal. Ever since that day he'd been acting out of remorse for his actions, trying his best to make it up to the elements. They forgave him, but he didn't believe it.
"Discord?" I said to him, hoping to get a response. "Are you okay?"
He looked at me, his eyes had looked better, they were red, and it looked as though he was crying. The fur under his eyes were padded down from the dry tears and began to crust. He only replied with, "You understand I am only a spirit, but... how can I feel like I do? I love...I love Fluttershy. How can that be?"
I smiled. "It's normal Discord, do not worry. I am me, but I can still feel love. I love Zion, I love Twilight-"
"It's a different kind of love Tia....I LOVE her, not see her as family." His neck bent down. "All she does is forgive, and forgive...and She is so kind, her fur is soft when I hug her."
I looked to him, smiling at his sudden change, though I still had a ward up to be sure. "You respect her enough to love her I suppose. I must say Discord...I'm...surprised to her this, even from you. Tell me, what has caused this sudden change?"
He sighed, guessing I brought something painful up, I thought it may have been the time he betrayed the elements. It was only the sound of his sigh that gave this clue to how he felt about this. "Believe it or not Celestia... I have changed. It is because I found being evil only brings you laughter, but friendship gives you love, laughter...happiness." Discord paused his movement, and looked out the window, over looking at the west side of Canterlot. It was a more...rugged part of Canterlot, an industrial sector of sorts. Drug crime was higher in those parts, but most of it was just from marijuana, so I just used it for medical reasons for Canterlot Royal Hospital. Anyways, "When I saw Fluttershy cry... It was like watching the death of a dragon. Such a respected being, dying from old age... hearing his last cries to end his pain. It was like that..." I was tearing up at this point. He was correct about a dragon, they are in a lot of pain when they die.
For those of you who don't understand. When A dragon dies, it's fire burns it from the inside. He feels all the pain until his brain burns, as a dragon can survive without oxygen for up to twelve hours, allowing them go into extreme stasis, letting them live so long. It's painful to see such suffering, and agony with no hope for help as dragon hide is nearly indestructible. So I nodded saying, "I see, so you wish to repay her for your past transgressions?" I shook my head chuckling. "At least make it to me before you stop."
He chuckled back. "I'll think on it Tia. I must be going however. I suppose I have a date with Fluttershy to the spa with Rarity." Before he snapped his fingers, he paused for another moment. He inhaled deeply before letting out, "Thank you for this Celestia. It is moments like these where I wish I never went insane."
I seriously nodded. "I agree Discord, perhaps one day."
Discord left with a smile on his face, presumably for him to meet Fluttershy looking like he was in a good mood. It sounded rather familiar, and I sighed, remembering I just got out of that same situation.
I paused, feeling a slight pulling feeling. I looked to where I I felt the pull, my tail, and I saw a little white colt with dark blue mane. I blinked, and it looked older, much older. That's when I also saw it was a pegasus, missing a wing, a leg, and it was covered in scars. It looked up at me, and a tear came down it's face.
"Mom..." was all it said before vanishing. I felt my heart tugging, and gasped for a breath, feeling the backlash of a powerful spell. I coughed trying to catch my breath, but I didn't recover in time to not alert my favorite guards, Hammer.
"Princess!" He rushed over, checking if I was alright. "Are you okay? I heard you coughing, and I came running."
I nodded, my frown gave him the wrong answer. "I'm fine Hammer, I just saw an illusion."
His horn touched my head, and then it moved away. "You seem fine princess. Have you slept lately? Like, at all?"
I winced. "As of late, not much honestly. It's been three months since Zion, and..." I sighed. "I have this feeling that something bad will happen to him."
"I understand princess, just try to get better soon. I'm sure you're just worrying over something as small as a feeling. The castle is well protected. Luna, and your towers are protected by ten dozen wards and protection spells, and don't forget about the Threstrals guarding during the night." He had made a good point.
"You're right Hammer. If Discord can't enter my room, I'm sure no pony can. Are there any visitors?"
"No ma'am, princess Luna has been taking care of your court duties while you are in your room." My jaw dropped, but he stopped me before I spoke. "Don't worry princess, I've been keeping an eye on her for a while now. She's doing alright. Now, why don't you go back to your room, take a nice bath, and get some well deserved sleep. Eh?"
I giggled. "It's like you're my lover Hammer. You take better care of me than anypony I know."
He bowed with a long smile. "Princess Celestia, I am your highest ranking knight. It is my duty to make sure that you are at peace. If it means giving you the thought of me being your lover, than let it be. I like to think that I am doing my job, your... example is only telling me I am doing it better than I thought."
"So humble Sir Hammer..." I rolled my eyes. "I'll be off then. I shall see you tomorrow."
He bid be farewell, and walked back towards the throne room. His trot had a little bounce, but I laughed it off as I walked back. The halls were beginning to light themselves with magic orbs that slowly changed colors. It gave the castle the look like it was alive from afar, looking over all of Equestria. It already did, but when you have something as big as Canterlot looking over Equestria looking like it was alive, gave you a weird feeling if you stared at it too long. Only slightly creepy, other than that, it was beautiful.
And when I had made my way back into my room, I saw Zion grabbing his toes. I walked over to him, and nuzzled his belly, getting him to laugh again.
"Zion, you are mine." That was all I said before I went to take a shower. The more I thought about what Hammer told me, he was right, I need to relax.
A Princess with a Heavy Wish
Chapter 1 : An Unlikely Happenstance
Days were long, time was forever. At least things were never changing in to which my kingdom is to be run. By myself and my dearest sister who's just only returned to me a few years ago. A delightful time for me to be reunited with my only living family as my parents have died in combat to protect the future of their kind.
I couldn't find myself to be happy anymore. I had lost my final student as she graduated to become one of six of the most powerful tool Equestia had to defend itself. I could tell Luna was worried when I had found out that neither of us could bare a foal of our own. The process would destroy the Zygote before the first month ended. I had only but magic to blame, and it was my own.
My room was were I could only find myself to be into tears because of this fact, but 'twus only a fear that was proven to be true which only caused my suffering to worsen. A fear any female would have in the back of their minds to not bare a child of their own, to pass down themselves to another and so on...The feeling was like being around death, and I had known that feeling, spoke to Chrone himself a few times. However that was a story for another time, and I am left again inside of my room, protected by countless safeguards not even Discord could bend the rules of reality to pass through to check on my condition.
My mind was also blocked, when I dreamed, I felt my sister trying to push through my mental blocks by force to speak to me, but I had always managed to push her away. Pushing everypony away was all I had felt like doing. I had not wanted my subjects to see my tormented, and depressed state. I was a model, a symbol of hope and harmony whenever they looked to Canterlot. They spoke with my name in their everyday language such as "Sweet Celestia" ,or "Oh my Celestia!", this only lead me to think more about them to how they saw me.
I was a princess of a kingdom, a diarch who ruled with her sister, and a teacher to a many but truly only one, her name was Twilight Sparkle, who was in fact able to bare a child as even her eggs were infused with her magic, covering it in a protective shield from the magical radiation her body gave off. She was the embodiment of magic, and was a unicorn to begin with, as I was born as an alicorn with no natural way to bare a child. My parents were the the creators of the universe, laws that dictated everypony else didn't apply to them.
While I made my way back to my chambers with a pair of guards following close behind, I heard a suffering cry, one that made me want to tear up. Somepony had left a child abandoned. I looked to my guards frowning at each of them.
"Do you hear something crying?" I had asked softly.
"No princess, I don't."
"Neither do I, sorry, how do you hear something crying?"
"Inform my sister that there is an issue." I said looking at the unicorn guard to my left. "I need you to search the castle for any abandoned pony."
"Princess, we don't hear anything crying. Perhaps you are just tired?"
The crying had whispered away, and soon vanished. I shook my head, rubbing it gently with a nod. "Maybe you are right Hammer." I rubbed my eyes, and opened the doors to my chambers. "I retract my statement sirs, have a good night, and inform my sister instead that it is her time to raise the moon for another beautiful night."
"Pleasant dreams Princess Celestia."
"And you." I nodded, closing my door gently.
I stepped inside only to fall onto my bed, wetting it with my own tears. The prospect of putting on a smile as a false statement to my true emotions were taking much of my strength. And I did this every night that I knew I would never have a child to call my own, never would such a thing happen. Immortals weren't supposed to have children I suppose, Chrone told me immortal souls are costly, and drives most insane, he saw many gods fall. I however was not a god, but to live until the sun burns everything. Then, when everything would be over, and I could sleep.
I've tried committing suicide when I was much, much younger, when I banished my sister I had remembered I would only wake up in my bed.
My pillow began to feel very damp from my sorrowful tears, and my head began to pound like somepony was banging a hammer over my skull as if it were an anvil. I doubt I'd make a good plate to make a sword when I can't even bare a child.
Standing from my bed, I walked over to a portrait of my parents. My mother a tall white alicorn who had beautiful strawberry red mane, and my father was a bit taller, a huge set of wings and a horn placed atop his blue coat. His mane was a deep black color with specks of white dots running down his mane.
"Mother...father...please ...why would you make me female when you would know I would want a child?" I sniffed, rubbing my eyes. I knew they could hear me, wherever I spoke to this picture of them, I felt a heavy feeling in my chest, like I was being pushed under their great power. "Please...answer my cries, or do you wish to see me suffer? Do you like seeing me cry!? Do you enjoy that I will suffer until my death, knowing full and well I will never bare a child!?!? ANSWER ME DAMMIT! " I turned away from them, huffing as I fell back onto my bed.
So I laid there for sometime, asleep in my own land to further cry my sorrows. I am not one to stick to devastation, but I had no way to pass on what I had to offer. I've been through dozens of unicorn and earth pony stallions, each with their own mating abilities, yet it seemed as though I had not what female unicorns had. My poor children would burn before they were even moving, to think of how many little unborn foals crying in the summerlands because they could not live. It was my fault they couldn't.
"Wwaaaaaaa! W-wwaaaaa!"
There were those cries again, my ears shot up with the rest of my body. I opened the balcony doors, and the crying was louder, coming from the garden. I took fight, the full moon tonight shone a brilliant orange as it was the harvest moon, and helped me see a little more clearly.
The crying was more distinct now, and as I landed, I felt myself driven forward. The crying was out of distress, and I felt my heart jump forward. I did too, right through a bubble that was keeping it from being seen, and there it was.
Crying in front of me was what looked like a hairless baby ape with just a little bit of red hair on top of its head. Over its stomach was a card, and I picked it up with my magic. To my surprise it said:
No, we don't~
I nearly dropped the note from my magical hold as I gasped, looking down at the baby who looked much like an ape. My heart began to flutter, and I began to cry. I fell to the side, holding the child in my hooves, crying that I had what I always, truly wanted. My parents weren't the ones to give me such wonderful blessings as this child. They were always quiet, and never meddled in the affairs of Equestia as I had demanded of them.
However, this one time, I had asked them without asking to have a child of my own. No it was not a pony, no it might not be from this world, and no it may not even be truly mine. But I was desperate, adopting was too much of a hassle, and would've caused too much unwanted attention, not to mention the rumors. I know I am not the one to say this as I have tasted power and been in royalty all of my life, but if I had adopted a foal, they would be much like how my nephew Blueblood. His heart was cold as winter stone, and he was greedy, he was also a bit of a prick.
"Oh my little one...what shall I name you?" I sniffed happily, a small smile growing onto my face. The baby had stopped crying the moment I had began to hold it. I saw it was clearly male as its little stallion hood poked out without a sheath. Pondering of a suitable name for him, I had thought about where I was born. The summerlands is where my soul was created, and where I had lived until I was sixteen. Another name I had heard these lands be called by other nations was, Zion..."Yes...Zion will do for you....Zion Everfree."
