Monsters and Demons

As the Spartan walked through the deep snow he continued to look around. his active camouflage running as the cold wind did nothing against his armor. Looking at the miniature map hologram he had he saw that the unknown village was directly below him "This doesn't feel right, not at all" The spartan said "no rampaging monsters, no crazed ponies that i can see. nothing out of the normal." he said.

"Your correct sir. Something doesn't feel right" Delta said.

David quietly moved to a wooded area as he looked down at the village. "Maybe we got lucky and that cutie map thing only had a small civil issue." Delta said before David gave him a "really" look. "You cannot rule out it as a possibility."

"How long before sun up?" David asked looking down at the village. "Six hours?"

"That is correct" the green a.i. replied.

"Hey Church" David called on the radio. "I need you to send me the alpha package. Load out with speed, medic and color change. Sat. coms. to transfer delta to the Liberty. Two clicks east of my position." He said heading in that direction "stealth drop" he said heading to the location.

"You are transferring me sir?"

"Yes delta, I need you on the liberty to take command. Reds and blues do you hear me? Delta is in command."

"Delta when you get there, prep the Tex and Alpha directive" he said. "But only deploy on my command. If you don't hear from me, move to a secure location."

"Understood sir."

Looking up David saw the ODST drop pod falling towards the ground. But moments before impact in slowed and landed quietly only a few hundred feet away, a distance that he quickly moved and opened the pod. "Hey shit head, miss me?" The blue a.i. of Church asked.

"Like a headache." David replies and grabbed the equipment before setting up a small satellite dish and transferring Delta to it and sending him to the Liberty.

"Hey man, why did you want me to switch out with Delta?" Church asked.

"Call it a hunch" he said walking back to his spot on the mountain side. He changed his armor color to white, set his motion trackers to a hundred and fifty meters. Turning on his visor and active camo he remained quiet.

"In coming." Church said causing the Spartan to duck right as a brute shot slammed into the tree. The blade embedded into the cold, hard wood "It can't be"

Turning and throwing up his arms in a defendive posture the Spartan was knocked back and started to roll down the fairly steep mountain. Landing onto his back David rolled to the side as the brute shot again was thrown at him. Still on his back David blocked a punch that packed a force he knew well. Spartan. "Shit" he said looking up into the visor of EVA armor. "Maine"

"It's a trap!" As the other ponies surrounded the mane six and Twilight infront of the cutie mark vault, boxing them in. Growling as she touched the headset hidden in her ear Twilight called out to David for help "DAVID WE NEED YOU!" With no response the lavander alicorn Princess quickly took up a combat stance, ready to fight hand to hand if needed as her horn glowed, only for Starlight Glimmer to laugh.

"I wouldn't do that, unless you want something to happen to him." She pointed to the side as a white figure dressed in armor like Davids walked out dragging David into the light, and throwing him onto the ground before putting a gun to his head. The chest piece if his armor was cut open, his chest was bleeding, his helmet was off and David was bleeding from a cut above his right eye.

"I'm sorry princess." Then darkness took him.
