As Sunset Shimmer settled in, she decided to test the four buttons on each side of the door. She pressed the red button and a metallic
door slid in from the ceiling, emitting a loud slamming sound followed by a locking sound. Both sounds startled Sunset. She then pressed the white buttons. in the hallway outside, a dim flickering light could be seen. She did the same thing for the other side of the office, and finally sat in the chair once again. She looked at the screen bolted to the chair. It had two things on it; a power usage bar, and the percentage of power left. She was at 96% power. As she relaxed in her chair, she started do doze off a bit. Maybe she could just rest her eyes for a few minutes. Just long enough to-
RING! RING!
Sunset yelped in surprise. She looked on the desk, looking for the source of the ringing. Then she found it. There was a phone that had a button flashing red. It was a message. Pressing the button, a robotic female voice was heard.
"You have: -1- New Message."
After a few milliseconds, another voice was heard. This time, a real person. It was a woman's voice.
"Uh, hello? Hello there? Hi there! I heard that there was going to be a new guard taking the early morning shift, and, uh, that they would start their first week here at the mall. So, I decided to, uhm, leave a message for you! So- so I could give you some, advice. And don't worry, I know what to do. I've actually been here since day 1. As in when they animatronics arrived. Not since the opening of the mall. That was weeks ago. And, uh, this is my last week. So, ok! Now let me see what I have to do..." said the woman, followed by the sound of a rustling bag and the sound of pages being flipped.
"Aha! here it is! Uh, this is the policy from the mall after the arrival of the animatronics. It's actually a legal thing I have to do, so uh, yeah. Ahem. 'Welcome to the Canterlot Mini Mall, a place where you can find only the best stores Canterlot City has to offer! We ensure that you will find your looking for reasonable prices! And if you wish, drop off the young ones to the Kiddy Korner! There you will find great food, great fun, and our new addition to the Kiddy Korner, the Fazbear Gang! Meet Bonnie the Bunny, a cute fella with amazing guitar skills! Chica the Chicken, a fun gal with an appetite! And last but not least, Freddy Fazbear! The lovable bear with a passion for singing, entertaining, and parties! The C.M.M is not responsible for A) Damage to merchandise, B) Loss of money or credit/debit cards, and C) Injury/death to children. An injured/missing child report will be filed once we clean the animatronic suits, clean all the floors and close the mall to revaluate the staff, and within 80 days. Please note that-' yadda yadda yadda!" said the woman. Once Sunset heard the part about the injury or death the children from the animatronics, she started feeling uneasy.
"So that sounds bad, yeah I know! But there's nothing to worry about. This job will be a piece of cake! And, yes, the animatronics did have a, 'little problem' with the last few guards back at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. I heard that back in 1987, there was this some horrible incident. A kid had his frontal lobe of the brain chomped off. And there was the five missing children. Yeah. They kinda had a rocky history. But hey, it's fine! You're safe. Just remember. Check the cameras, close the door when you need to, and conserve power. Ok, see ya tomorrow!"
Now Sunset was terrified. Brain chomped off? Five missing children? This was a bad idea. But she needed money. This was probably some cruel joke by the first guard. She looked at her power level.
69%
Time: 2:59 AM
She reached to her side and grabbed a tablet. She turned it on and immediately it displayed three buttons. One said Sub-Level, the second Ground Floor, and the last one said Top Floor. She pressed Ground Floor and it displayed several camera locations. She selected a camera titled Cam 4, which showed the Kiddy Korner stage. On there was the three animatronics. She looked around the rest of the floor, then the top, then the bottom. After putting down the tablet, she had 40% power left. It was now 5:30. She checked the stage again. What she saw scared her. They three mascots were staring directly at the camera. Then right at that moment, the camera became fuzzy and distorted. In fact, all the cameras were in the same state. It lasted for a few moments, and when Sunset looked back at the stage, Bonnie was gone. He was nowhere to be seen. Frantically, Sunset searched the Sub-Floor and the Ground Floor. When she checked the Top Floor, she found him in the men's bathroom hallway, staring at the camera, eyes all black except for two white dots near the center. She now had 5% power and it was now 5:58 AM. Then, Bonnie backed up a bit, grabbed his face, and pulled. After his head was off, he stared back at the camera and emitted a low, mechanical screech. Then, everything shut down. She had no more power left. Luckily, it was now 6:02 AM and Sunset was free to go home. Very quickly, she grabbed her keys and bus pass, quickly walked out of the building, took the bus, went to her house and jumped into her bed. She curled up and forced herself to sleep. Why did she take this job? Why did she? It was a nightmare there. They were going to kill her. And the worst part?
She was going back there tomorrow.
