The Dragon and the Maidens
Chapter 1-Leaving for the Journey
Chapter 1-Leaving for the Journey
A young purple scaled dragon with green spines, had opened his eyes to see black smoke rising and covering some of the white clouds, and blue sky. Spike sat himself up in his bed, let out a loud yawn, and he began to stand up. As he got up, he looked out his window to see a huge mountain spewing streams of lava down its slope. He took in a whiff of air, and smiled with glee. He carefully opened the window, took in a deep breath, and shouted, "Good morning Dragon Lands!!!! What's going on?!"
Although Spike was convinced everyone was up, he had heard an elder dragon look at him through his window across the way. There were dark bags under the drakes eyes. To some it would have been hard to see since his scales were an ash black. Also the drake wore a black cloak covering most his head. The elder dragon had another head stretched out and it shouted back at the purple drake, "Shut up young whipper snapper!!! I'm trying get some sleep."
"Sorry, Mr. Hydra." Spike said, looking back to the elder drake, then he walked away from his window. Spike went to his closet, looking for something to wear. He then notice that his dragon knight armor was glistening under a few of his dirty clothes. As the purple drake stared at his armor; he began to have a few memories when he had last worn his armor. I guess it's been too long, since that fateful day. One day, I might need to wear that armor again. Spike thought to himself, as he looked away from his armor, and to the other clothes he had.
He then picked out a white shirt, blue sweat pants, and he had picked up his favorite pair of black sandals. He then put on his pants, then shirt, and finally his sandals. Once he got dressed he walked out the door, closing it gently behind him, afraid he might wake up his neighbor if he slammed it shut, and he began to walk away from his home.
As Spike walked down the red cobblestone street, he had looked at all the buildings, and other places that were made of gray and black stones. He liked all the buildings he saw, but as he looked around the street he was on, he had found no other dragons. His curiosity got the better of him as he began to ponder where the other drakes were.
"Hmmmm. I thought there might be more dragons out and about. But I see none around here. Maybe some of them are at the twin volcanoes getting their jobs done, or bathing in the lava. Oh well, I might as well look for gems." Spike said, as he began to walk towards a new destination.
As he walked away from the town, he spotted someone familiar to him. A red scaled dragon with bright orange spikes and belly, with white freckles on his face. His arms across his chest. Next to the red drake, was another purple scaled drake, but he had blonde, hair covering his eyes, yellow spines and belly. On the other side of the purple drake was white scaled drake with pink spikes and belly, and a black drake with green hair and belly, and dull gray spikes. And then Spike saw the all brown scaled and belly drake, with dull blue horns, sitting on the ground.
"Hi Garble." Spike greeted, as he walked towards them.
"Spike. Thank the dragon elders, I found you." Garble said back, as he walked towards him.
"Found me? For what exactly?" The purple drake asked curiously.
"Let me explain. I needed to find you because the elders had found a peaceful land filled with talking creatures. So I decided to do a recon mission with their approval. And so long story short, I needed to find you so we can all go." The red drake replied,
"Talking creatures? Like what type of creatures?" Spike asked, still curious.
"Umm I think the elders said they were ponies." Garble replied, scratching his chin.
"I see. I'm sorry Garble but I can't go with you." The purple drake said, letting his friend down gently.
"Why not Spike?" The red drake asked, feeling a little hurt.
"Because I'm no longer a knight remember. I retired since the incident, and on that day I swore I wouldn't do anything dangerous ever again." Spike replied, calmly.
"I see. But you don't need to be a knight if you're going with us. I mean don't you want to explore this land, see this creatures, and then come back home." Garble explained, trying to see if his friend would reconsider.
"Well I don't know. I might be in your way." The purple drake said, almost mumbling to himself.
"Nah. I don't mind. Your my best friend Spike. And I promise you won't be in my way at all." The red drake said, proudly and flashing Spike a smile.
"Well if you insist. Then I'll tag along. But under one condition." Spike said, strictly.
"Name it." Garble said, happily.
"I may pack whatever I want, no questions asked. Also, I want no part of doing recon. I'm doing this for myself and only myself understood." Spike said, holding out his claw hand.
"Crystal clear." Garble said, taking Spike's claw hand and shaking it.
Both dragons had stopped shaking their claws, and they both let out a laugh. Both drakes held their sides as they laughed and both of them fell to the ground.
"Man Spike you know how to act like a strict person. I almost fell for it." Garble said, calming down from laughing to hard.
"Yeah I know. Maybe I should do some acting for shows or movies." Spike said, also calming down from laughing to hard.
"Nah I don't think you'll make it as a big shot." The red drake said, seriously.
"Oh thanks. I guess I lost my self confidence." The purple drake said, smiling.
"Yeah. I respect your condition though. So we better get a move on." Garble said, distantly.
Yeah you're right. I go back to my home and start packing the things I'll need." Spike said, getting up from the ground., He then stretched out his wings and flew down towards his home.
As Spike flew away Garble got up from the ground, and he looked at his other friends.
"So he doesn't know what we are really doing?" The white drake asked.
"No he doesn't suspect a thing." The red drake replied.
"What if he finds out what we're doing, what then?" The purple drake with blonde hair asked, feeling frightened.
"I'll take care of it." Garble replied, evilly.

Chapter 2-The New Land
Spike had made his way home. He slammed his front door open, and ran to his bedroom to begin packing for the journey. He couldn't help but smile and jump for joy. I can't believe I'm going to see a new land. I can't wait to meet these talking ponies. Joy for me. Though Garble was holding something back. What could he be hiding? Spike thought to himself as he walked towards his bedroom. Just as he reached his bedroom, Spike had saw his neighbor, Mr.Hydra packing his things in a black leather suit case. Confusion had spread onto Spike's face. Why is Mr.Hydra in my room? Also why is packing my things? Spike wondered.
Spike began to approach his neighbor, when he heard Mr. Hydra spoke, "Good thing you finally came home whipper snapper."
"How did you get in here?" Spike asked, confused.
"Through the window you left open earlier this morning." His neighbor replied, pointing a claw finger at the window.
"Really? Maybe I should close it more often." The purple drake said, embarrassed.
"Yeah, you really should. Otherwise someone may steal something from here." Hydra said, calmly. He had finished packing.
"Well then, why are you packing my things?" Spike asked, confused.
"Simple. I had heard you were going to a new land. So I wanted to do something generous." The elder drake said, as he began to zip up the black suit case.
"I didn't know you cared for me. I thought you just wanted me out of your way." The purple drake said, feel a bit happy.
"I do want you out of my way. I'm always tied of you shouting in the morning. Once you're gone, I might be able to get some sleep around here." Hydra explained, looking at the young drake. A moment of silence had passed between the two of them. The silence was so thick, it could be just like a lava river dam. But then Spike realized something that his neighbor had said.
"Wait a moment, how did you know I was going to a new land?" Spike asked, breaking the silence, and feeling a bit irritated.
"Spike. I can hear, and see many things. I have eyes and ears every where." Hydra replied, seriously.
"Ok that's kind of creepy." The purple drake said, feeling a shiver run down his spine. Spike walked over to his bed to pick up the black travel case, when Hydra had grabbed his wrist. Another silence had passed between them, but Hydra broke it by saying, "A bit of advice before you leave Spike."
"What is it?" Spike asked, confused.
"Be careful of your friend. I sense that he maybe doing something no good. Also, once you get to the new land, make sure to stay a week there. Have fun, make some friends, and stay out of trouble." Hydra said, calmly.
"Ok I will." The purple drake said, as he picked up the suit case, and walked away from the elder drake.
As Hydra watched the young drake leave his home, he let out a sigh and said, "I hope you two can deal with him. His destiny shall begin once he gets to your lands. He's in your hands now."

What could be taking him so long?! Come on Spike we're about to leave without you. Garble thought to himself, as he paced back and forth.
"Dude, I see a purple blur coming this way." The purple drake with blonde hair said, as he pointed a claw in the direction he was facing.
Garble looked to where his friend was pointing at, and he saw the same purple blur coming fast. A smile formed on his face as he knew Spike was coming.
"Sorry I'm late guys. Just had to pack a few things." Spike said, sheepishly.
"You know we're not going to stay there long, remember." Garble pointed out.
"And I told you I'm doing this for myself, remember." The purple drake pointed out.
Garble and Spike stared at each other, for a few seconds then they both began to laugh. The laughter continued for a few minutes before it died down.
"I'm sorry. I forgot you're just coming with us so you can explore the land on your own." Garble said, feeling embarrassed.
"Yeah I'm sorry to. I forgotten you guys were doing a recon mission." Spike said, also feeling embarrassed.
"Well good thing you came on time. We were just a about to take flight and leave you behind." The red drake said.
"Oh really. Well then it's a good thing I made it in time." The purple drake said, happily.
"Yeah you did. But what took you so long?" Garble asked, confused.
"Well I'm thinking of staying at this place for a week or two." Spike replied, calmly.
"I see. Maybe you can write us letters about what you're discovering, what these species are like, and find out about their culture." The red drake said, hope gleaming in his eyes.
"Maybe I will." The purple drake said, smiling.
"Umm boss sir... maybe we should get going." The white drake said, ruining a bonding moment.
"Right. Alright you drakes, spread your wings, and let's take off." Garble ordered.
All the drakes had unfolded their wings, and with a mighty flap they all took to the skies.
==================================================================================
As the dragons flew through the air, Spike looked down at the sea below him. He remembered what his neighbor Hydra had told him before he left. "Be careful of your friend. I sense that he maybe doing something no good." What did you mean by that? Garble is my best friend. He would never do something bad. But on to the most important part. What kind of culture do these ponies live in? Are they nice to all species? How would they react to seeing a dragon? Spike thought to himself, as he kept looking down at the blue waters that never seem to end.
"Alright get ready to land guys. We have arrived at our destination." Garble ordered, shouting over the wind. All of his friends except Spike had responded. The purple drake with blonde hair, flew next to Spike. He tapped Spike on the shoulder, and he got Spike to look at him. He then pointed a claw at a island. Spike followed the claw finger, and what he saw left him breathless. Spike saw the beautiful land every one of his kind had talked about. As they all flew over, Spike saw luscious green fields, tall silhouette of mountains, a town, and he saw something red and white on a green grass field, not far from the town.
As Spike continue to stare at the new land, he heard Garble shout, "Spike you need to land now!" But Garble's words had fallen on deaf ears, as Spike already had hit his head into something big and tall. Spike then began to fall down, down, down, and down, until he had hit the ground with a loud thud.
Spike had began to see everything was upside down in his vision. He got up from the ground slowly, shaking his head. "Where am I? Oh boy." Spike said, looking at his surroundings. Garble is probably going to kill me for not listening to him. I should have landed safely somewhere else but I got lost in the beauty of this land. Maybe Garble will come to me to make sure I'm alright. Spike thought to himself, as he face palmed himself when he came to a realization. I could just write a letter to him and tell him that I'm alright. Then he can get on with his mission while I have a whole week or two on this land.
Spike began to look for a quill, ink, and paper. But he then felt something was missing from his body. He had been carrying his luggage bag around, that had all of his stuff inside. Now it was missing, and lost. Spike began to look around for his luggage bag, hoping to find it. As Spike looked all around, he then heard something break and something heavy fell on top of his head. He rubbed his head, and looked down and saw that his luggage bag was safe and sound.
"Now to write that letter to Garble. Then I make my way to... Well I don't know much about this place. So anywhere I guess." Spike said out loud, as he reached for the zipper of his bag.
Then he heard laughter, coming from right behind him. Spike then picked up his bag from the ground, and he began to walk towards where the laughter came from. As Spike kept walking, the laughter grew more loudly, and then he heard a loud booming sound. Spike quickly ran towards the sound then he saw a bright white light.
He slowed down and walked through the light. That is when he saw the six of them sitting on a red and white checkered blanket, and a bright brown basket land on top. As Spike looked closer, he saw that one of them was lavender colored, and reading a book, other was orange and practicing something with a rope, one was pink and bouncing around a cannon, another was a cyan blue and laying down, another was white and playing with two needles and making something out of fabric, and the last one was yellow, and petting something little and white.
Spike wanted to back away, and not be sighted by them. But that would be impossible since the pink one had looked at him. Spike gulped and hoped they don't begin to throw things at him.
