CHAPTER TWO: Departure

I walked through the meadow that surrounded Canterlot Castle's massive garden.

“Dorchester!” Frederic greeted me with a smile.

“Hey Frederic, good to see you again!”

Frederic slapped me on the back. “I got your letter, well, yours and Silvermoon's. What did you want me out here for?”

I cleared my throat. “I want to let Luce rise, I'm not going to go back in time. Maybe I can change something. I'm going to need you and Lance to help me though. I already have an idea, and I'm pretty sure it could work.”

Frederic looked at me confused. “What do you mean?”

“Go to another dimension.”

A short silence passed before Frederic broke it.

“What do you mean?”

“You know how Lance when into the dimension of that one video game? I want to do the same, but take something specific. If we can find it, of course. I already know the location of all the pieces we are going to need.”

Frederic still looked confused.

“We need to go into the dimension of Amnesia: The Dark Descent.”

His eyes widened.

“You... you're kidding...”

I shook my head regretfully. “I wish I was kidding. Me, you, and Lance need to find the six scattered pieces of the orb, put them together just like Daniel did in the game. With your help, I can reveal it and we will be able to see the monstrosity.”

“I still don't understand.”

“You've never played the game, have you?” I asked.

Frederic shook his head. “Nope.”

I sighed. “Well, we need to find six pieces of something called 'The Orb', the orb has a guardian which is called 'The Shadow'. If the orb is taken, The Shadow will come after us. If we can corner the beast somehow, seeing that it's invisible...”

Frederic cut me off. “It's invisible?”

I laughed nervously. “Yeah.”

“Great...” Frederic moaned.

“But I can reveal it's true form. If that happens, I could possibly make a deal with it if it helps us, I will return the orb.”

“Dealing with some sort of super natural demonic being, hoping it will stop an even bigger super natural demonic being? You are one crazy dude Dorchester.”

I sighed. “Will you help me or not?”

Frederic held out his hoof. “Of course.”

We brohoofed.

“Perfect. I'll go and get Lance and tell him the plan. Also, I'll send you a letter when I'm ready to go. Make sure to do the same.”

“Sounds like a plan.”

Frederic nodded, heading back to the castle. I transported myself over to Lance's house.

I knocked on the door three times. Twilight greeted me with a smile.

“Dorchester! It's so good to see you're back! I got your letter, you wanted to talk to Lance about something?”

“Yeah,” I answered. Twilight let me in and showed me to Lance who was hanging out with his kids.

“Hey dude, how're you doing?” Lance asked me, he got up from his spot.

“Lance, I need to talk to you about something important. In private.”

We walked away from Twilight and the kids until we where alone in the hallway.

“What do you need?” Lance asked.

“I think I've got a way to keep myself alive. I'm not going back in time to stop myself, but I'm going to need your help. Frederic has already agreed to come help me.”

“Alright,” Lance responded. “What else?”

“We're going into the dimension of Amnesia: The Dark Descent.”

Lance's mouth opened until it looked like it was going to dislocate.

“You're kidding... right?”

“That's exactly what Frederic said, but no, I'm not kidding. We need to go and get the orb pieces so I can make a deal with The Shadow.”

“Make a deal with that thing? You ever play the game?”

“If I didn't play the damn game, I wouldn't be sittin' here, discussing with you, now would I?” I snapped.

Lance waved his hoof. “Cut it with the Team Fortress 2 jokes, just tell me what you actually plan to do.”

Again, I sighed. “I plan to take the orb, put it together like Daniel did and make a deal with The Shadow that if it helps us, I will give it back it's orb.”

Lance laughed. “You do realize your crazy for even storming this up, right?”

I rolled my eyes. “Yeah, yeah, yeah. You going to help me or not?”

Lance laughed again. “Of course, I'd love to shit my pants once or twice.”

I shook my head. “Well, I'll send you a note when I'm prepared. Make sure to do the same.”

Lance nodded. “Gotcha.”

I was suddenly transported to the throne room. I saw Princess Luna, Princess Celestia, and King Horus.

“Dorchester, I'm glad you're here. I must tell you something important.” King Horus stepped forward.

What do you think he wants?

I waved my hoof. “Go ahead.”

“I am leaving.”

My mouth gaped open.

WHAT?!

“I realize this is unexpected, but it's for the best. In both our favors. Ever since that plant monster arrived, more and more natural disasters have taken place all around Equestria. I must leave to go and help take care of several other problems.”

“I... oh...” I stammered.

“It's been a pleasure to meet and help you with your task. I give you my undying support and gratitude, and I hope you will succeed.”

“But, there is something I need to tell you!” I said suddenly.

“Yes?”

I scratched my left knee with my hoof. “Me, Lance, and Frederic are going into an alternate dimension to see if there could be a way to have me survive.”

There was a long silence.

“And what do you expect to do?” Celestia asked.

I told them what I planned to do, gather the orb, and make the deal with The Shadow.

“Interesting. I never would have thought about that.” King Horus rubbed his chin with his hoof.

“I'm pretty sure it will work, your highness. With The Shadow's included power, Luce would be one step behind us!”

King Horus nodded. “I will let you do this. Luna, Celestia, when the time comes. I want you to transport the group to the alternate dimension.”

The two princesses nodded.

“Dorchester, I hope by my name you are right about this. Good luck, it was a pleasure helping you.”

King Horus vanished in a bright light.
