CHAPTER FOUR: Search for The Orb Pt. 2
I heard the Brute groaning outside the door. The sound got fainter and fainter until I couldn't hear it anymore.
“Alright, let's go.” I said.
Me and Frederic pushed the rock barrier away from the door, and slowly opened. Frederic looked outside.
“Nothing. Let's go.” He said. I walked behind him outside. I turned my head to look back at Lance. He smiled weakly.
“I'll be fine.”
I gave him a thumbs (hoof?) up, and Frederic and I made our way down to find the pieces of the orb.
Wait a minute, aren't there only three pieces of the orb here? We've only got two. The other three are in The Transept.
MOTHER.
FUCKER.
I stopped dead in my tracks and facehoofed myself.
Frederic turned around. “What?”
“Hey, you're going to laugh at this. I know you are but... I just remembered...” I said, slinging my arm around Frederic.
“Yeah...?”
I laughed nervously. “Well... considering the fact that we need to find the orb pieces... I might have forgotten just a small amount of information that might have been better to remember before we showed up here.”
Frederic sighed. “And that would be?”
I took a few steps back.
“Well... there are only three orb pieces in this place.”
Frederic's eye twitched.
“Okay...” He said. His voice was trembling. A lot.
I held up my hooves. “But wait! The other orb pieces are in The Transept, but no monsters are there!”
“Well, that's okay.”
“But... there are several torture devices placed in The Transept that would make you lose your mind.”
…
“You're lucky we can't make much noise. Or else I would be beating the living horse shit out of you.”
SCIENTIFIC MODE. ACITVATED.
No no no wait!
“Well, in theory, horse shit can't live. Seeing as you it's not a living organism.”
FUCK. YOU. XAX.
“I think I'll beat the horse shit out of you AFTER this is over.” Frederic snapped. I smiled nervously.
I walked straight ahead, turning my head every few seconds to see if Frederic was getting closer or further to me.
Okay, I lied. I was making sure he wasn't going to pounce on me. We reached another door, went inside, and fetched the orb piece.
That's all three!
Hell yeah!
Good work.
“So now we head to The Transept?” Frederic asked me.
“Yeah,” I said. I put the orb piece in my saddlebag.
We made our way back to the entrance of The Choir. I opened the door and we walked through the candle lit hallway. We entered the Nave.
“Okay,” I whispered. I looked at Frederic.
“Don't make too much noise. I'm not sure if Agrippa is awake or not.”
Frederic looked at me confused. “Agrippa?”
I shook my head. “Yeah, just stay really quiet.”
Frederic nodded and followed me until we reached The Transept's entrance.
I opened the door slowly and we crept inside.
A large oval shaped room surrounded us, with a large iron spiral staircase going upward into the ceiling. Three wooden doors where before us. One at the far end of the room, right in front of us. The other was at the left, the last one on the right. Large spiked cages like the one in The Choir hung from the ceiling.
“Okay, this is The Transept. Be careful, we don't want to make too much noise.”
Frederic nodded. “Gotcha.”
We made our way down The Transept to the door on the right.
“Okay, I'm not sure which torture method is in this one. But just ignore it and let's get the orb piece.”
I opened the door, a dark corridor appeared. I walked through it first, Frederic creeping behind me.
“What is that noise?” He asked. It sounded like a saw... cutting through human flesh.
“It's part of The Transept. Just keep going.” I tried to sound brave. I wanted to throw up. An iron door appeared, it was closed. I opened it.
A wooden structure lay before us. A small hole lay on the floor, a large amount of blood inside the hole which was covered with a small iron gate. I looked to my right and saw sacks. Something was glowing underneath them.
“Here it is,” I said. I pulled the rags away to see another orb piece.
“Perfect, let's get out of this hellhole.”
I walked out the door. Yet Frederic stayed behind. I looked back at him.
“Something up Frederic?” I asked.
He looked at me oddly. “This place... reminds me of my father.”
A few seconds passed.
“I never did figure out how he got here...”
God fucking damn it.
“Well... no matter.” Frederic sighed.
“It's all over now.” I said.
Frederic sighed again. This time louder. “I guess you're right, let's go.”
We headed out the door. I stopped.
“Why don't we split up? You go to the left, I'll take the right.”
Frederic nodded. “Sure.”
I coughed. Frederic turned around.
“I'll go up there first. Meet me by the exit of this place.”
Frederic looked confused, but nodded. “Gotcha.” He turned back around and made his way down to the left.
I approached the large iron spiral staircase, and went up it. I found a small office, with a picture of Alexander from Amnesia framed on the wall behind the office. I noticed a note, and picked it up.
I knew you'd come here, looking for The Shadow. Yet how do you suppose to get back to Equestria? Maybe you should think things through before taking action.
I slammed the note on the desk, it was right!
Xas, we gotta think of something!
On it!
I put the note in my saddlebag, and descended down the spiral staircase. I headed to the right, and got the orb from The Triangle room. I saw Frederic, holding a piece of orb in his hooves.
I gently took it from him. “Thanks,” I said, putting the piece of orb into the sattlebag.
“That's all six pieces, let's go get Lance back.” Frederic said.
“I'll carry him.” I offered.
“Sounds good, let's go.”
I nodded. “Lets.”
