It was late when I wrote this chapter, so some things will be lacking. Sorry.

CHAPTER FIVE: Search For The Orb Pt. 3 Final Part

Lance lay on my back. I was a little larger than him, seeing that I am alicorn. I felt blood trickle down my back as we continued into The Nave, and we entered through The Chancel.

“It's so... blue.” Lance said drowsily.

I yawned. “Yeah, let's just get into The Inner Sanctum and get on with this.”

“Why are we going into The Inner Sanctum?” Asked Frederic.

Might as well tell him.

“If we can't use our magic, we can't get home. But with the orbs that Alexander has, we can kill him, and use the orbs to take us home.”

Frederic raised his eyebrows. “I see, good plan.”

We crossed the bridge, into the large tan chamber. I put in the first piece of the orb, and then smothered the base with the sticky tar. I put the orb together, forcing the pieces to stick with the tar until the orb was completed. The large, blue, static traveled onto the orb.

There was a sudden boom, and the room went dark. The static barrier was gone. I picked up the orb. It was warm, and it electrocuted me softly.

Frederic sighed. “This is it.”

I nodded. “Guess so, let's go and do this.”

We entered the Inner Sanctum.

“Alright, we must make blood offerings. Frederic, I want you to scoop up a little bit of Lance's blood, and drop it onto the table when I say so.”

Frederic yawned. “Gotcha.”

We went to the room on the right, dropped the blood, and all stood on the circle in the far end of the room. There was a crash, and the entire room trembled, and suddenly stopped.

“Now we need to do it again.”

We did the same in the other room. The door opened, and we walked inside the Orb Chamber. I saw three large stone pillars, holding an orb in a claw like hand. A large, circular stand stood before us. That is where the portal will open.

“I know it's not you, Daniel.”

“Alexander.” I sneered.

“Luce told me that you would arrive... he told me everything. Me and you can relate, you know.”

I looked over to Frederic, who was staring at Alexander. He was a light shade of blue. Alexander floated in mid-air. Did I mention he was also naked? I never understood why he was like that. Guess it was like The Terminator, when you travel, you lose your clothes. Might as well take them off.

“Don't listen to him. Lance, you still okay?”

Lance coughed. “Yeah...” he said hoarsly.

“He has a way with words, be careful.” I hissed.

“You wish you travel back in time, and stop what was already foretold? You were meant to die, why don't you just go back now? You must realize at this point, you have nothing to live for.”

I felt a sudden burst of anger. I gritted my teeth.

“I can no longer recognize this world... I did enjoy my stay though. I'm not one to judge... much. But I can tell, you need to let yourself go. Give into the darkness that has surrounded you and your past for far too long...”

Alexander sighed deeply. “Accept fate, Dorchester. The Shadow cannot help you, it couldn't help me.”

The door behind us smashed open, large, pink, rotting flesh began to spread across the walls. There was a loud surge. I looked up at the pillar in front of me to see the orb spark, and send in a large wave of energy towards the portal. There was a spark, and a large portal began to form.

The invisible force that was The Shadow roared. The entire room shook.

“Do not deny fate, my friend. Who will you rather side with? When I leave this world, you can have all the orbs to yourself. But if you join them, you must work towards it. Isn't having something for free, better? Especially if it's something you really want?”

“Shadow, please, listen to me! I never meant any harm. I just need your help, my world is in great danger.”

“Your world is of no concern to The Shadow.”

“Yes it is!” I snapped. Looking at Alexander, he looked slightly taken back. I could tell The Shadow wasn't moving because no more rotting, pink, flesh was growing anywhere.

“Please...” I begged.

“Luce Danneggiato, Alexander works for him, and he lies!” Frederic yelled. His voice echoed inside the large chamber.

“If you don't help us, then Luce will destroy the universe I live in! Then he'll come over to this one, and destroy this universe as well!”

“My Master will do no such thing... especially if the specific universe has been helpful to him.”

“But you are the cause that it was successful! Which means, when you return to YOUR universe, he will still destroy this one! Leaving the universe you live in alone!”

Alexander gasped slightly, he suddenly looked nervous. I had cornered him.

I smirked. “Unless you want to stay here, of course.”

Suddenly, all of the darkness began to vanish, and swirl around the area which The Shadow stood. I could see it clearly now, it was just the shadow of a man. But it had blood red eyes, and a gaping jaw with jagged, pointed teeth.

The Shadow looked up at Alexander, and charged at him.

“What?! Noo!”

The Shadow bit down onto Alexander's neck, and threw him against one of the large pillars, knocking it down onto Alexander's body. Alexander was crushed under the massive weight of the stone pillar. The Shadow floated in the air.

“W-Will... you help us?” I asked The Shadow.

It nodded.

“You can have the orbs, but we need to get back to our world, and you need to come with us.”

The Shadow kept it's eyes on us for a short moment.

The Shadow nodded again.

I smiled. “Thanks.”

“Can you talk?” I asked it.

The Shadow shook it's head.

“Oh, okay. Can you open a portal to Equestria?” I asked.

The Shadow snapped it's long, sharp edged fingers. A portal opened to Equestria. We all jumped in and landed in front of Canterlot Castle. The guards gasped when they saw Lance on my back, Frederic, and The Shadow. It looked slightly amused.

“Prince Frederic? Lance? Dorchester? What is going on here?!” One of the guards asked.

“Getting one step closer to saving the entire fucking universe, that's what. Come on Frederic, we need to take Lance to Luna and Celestia.”

Frederic's horn glowed, Lance floated over onto his back.

“Sweet! My magic is back! Dorchester, I'll take Lance over. Go and tell Twilight and the rest we've returned successful.”

I nodded. I noticed The Shadow, still looking amused. Rotten pink flesh pulsated under it.

“Uh...” I said, pointing my horn towards the pink rotten flesh.

The Shadow looked down, and shrugged.

“Can't get rid of it, huh?”

The Shadow shook it's head again.

“That's fine, just keep it in small amounts... and for the love of god, off of the walls.”

The Shadow gave me a thumbs up, still giving me some sort of creepy smile that again reminded me of Jeff The Killer. (I'm an asshole for reminding you of that, aren't I?)

“Come on, you can stay with me until you can return.” I said.

The Shadow nodded.

We walked, well, I walked. The Shadow floated. We went over to Lance's house and knocked on the door. Twilight Sparkle opened the door and gasped when she saw The Shadow. It waved it's hand.

Twilight laughed. “I guess the mission was a- wait... where's Lance?”

I scratched the back of my head. “He... got injured. A large gash on his back.”

Twilight screamed. “OH MY GOD! HERE I COME LANCE!” Twilight was gone in a poof. The Shadow looked at me oddly.

“She's Lance's wife.”

The Shadow looked like it had a brainstorm.

“Come on, I need to show you my house.”

The Shadow smiled.

“Yup... still creepy.”

The Shadow frowned. That was even worse than his smiling.

“No, no! It's okay!” I said, laughing nervously.

We made our way down to my house near the castle.

I think Discord would like The Shadow.

You idiot! Don't give Dorchester any idea's!

Ha, too late!

“Hey, wanna meet the equivalent of yourself in this world?” I asked.

The Shadow looked at me excited, and nodded.

---~---

You know what they say, you can't judge a book by it's cover! I was thinking about that when I was writing The Shadow's scenes. I thought it would be funny to make him/her/it a little comical. Let me know what you think, and what you think is going to happen because of The Shadow's little 'flesh' problem!
