THE BEGINNING
It was a typical day for Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends, making sure everything was certainly fine. It was a hard life being a princess, but you get used to it. It had been a while since anything unusual happened, but little did she and her friends know, that was about to change.
"YOUR HIGHNESS!!" exclaimed a guard, who had just entered Twilight's study, "I have urgent news." The guard looked as if he had seen a ghost.
"Yes, sire," replied the princess, "you may speak."
Twilight was not prepared for what she was about to hear.
"Giant monsters are attacking Ponyville, and they're EATING PONIES!! EATING THEM, I TELL YOU!!!"
Twilight had no words in response to this, she could not believe it. Ponies being eaten, sure, but giants? This was news to her.
"What should we do, Your Highness?" asked the guard, trembling with fear.
"Contact Princess Celestia at once, and have her spread the word to Luna and Cadance as well," Twilight commanded, with a hint of cautious worry in her voice, "We must not lose any more lives if we can help it."
"Yes, Your Majesty," the guard replied, as he left the room.
"The thing is," said Twilight, "I don't know if we CAN help it..."
Twilight left her castle, along with her friends, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, Applejack, and Pinkie Pie. What they saw terrified them to their core. Several humanoids, varying from nine to twenty feet tall, were attacking Ponyville. The citizens panicked, as those who could not get away were devoured.
Suddenly, in flew three very familiar alicorns.
"It's the Princesses!!" exclaimed Twilight, "They made it!!!"
But her celebration was short-lived. As soon as they were seen, the monsters swiped at the alicorns and they fell.
"NO!!!"
The six friends ran to their leaders, unsure of what was unfolding.
"Twilight," said Princess Celestia, "It's too late for us."
"NO!!" shouted Twilight in disbelief, "THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!!"
"That said, we pass on our magic to you." And without even a second's warning, Twilight felt her body fill with the magic of the other alicorns.
"Now go," said Princess Luna, "Leave us."
"I WON'T!!!" protested Twilight, but as she said it, one of the giant humanoids approached them. Twilight knew now was the time, if ever, to run away.
She ran as fast as she could, her friends barely able to keep pace with her. She did not know where she was running to, she just wanted to get away.
