Followers/Readers,
Sorry it took me so long to add this chapter of Meow and I. I had kind of run into a writers block when it came to completing this chapter and many other ideas had swerved into my head in the meantime as I was trying to figure out this chapter. Now that I have FINALLY finished the chapter, I hope you all enjoy what I came up with.
Crystal Feather
It Can't Be?!
"Mama?" a soft voice rang in my ears.
I rolled over just a bit towards the voice, but couldn't open my eyes.
"Mama." the voice repeated. Opening one eye, showing a silhouette of a small unicorn filly with dark red-ish for a mane, she held a tiny purple stuffed toy in her hooves.
"Can't you light up your horn whoever you are. I can't quiet see you." I sleepily asked rubbing my eyes.
I heard the filly struggle to make her magic work, soon the emerald green magical aurora came on showing up the red haired filly I had given birth to.
"Hey Emerald Rose... What's wrong?" I asked still rubbing my eyes, "It's two o'clock in the morning my sweet. Did you have a bad dream or something?"
Emerald looked at her hooves, then looked back at me, "I had a vision mama. You were there, so was Comet, there as a purple Pegasus stallion that you were hugging and your belly was big. Who is that stallion with you? Will he be my new daddy? Will you stop loving me?"
I thought for a split second and then chuckled, "Don't you ever think that I'd ever stop loving you Emerald. You are my little baby, and you always will be. You'll always be mine. And the stallion you probably saw was some pony who is gone now. Right now I only want you and Comet in my lives, no stallion is going to be the right father for you and Comet, or even the best husband for me." I patted Emerald on the back, "You should probably get back to bed, you have to go to school tomorrow."
"I don't think I could get to sleep again alone. Could I stay here with you?" Emerald said with those big puppy dog eyes staring at me.
I smiled, "Alright. Just be sure not to fall off the bed like what has happened before."
"Yes Mama."
Emerald jumped into the bed as I rolled over to where she was getting in. She rolled her back to me and I placed my hoof over her still body, only moving to breathe. I looked out the window into the dark night Luna always shared with all of Equestria. The only thought crossing my mind was Meow, the only stallion who I felt like I could begin to love some pony again. Was he really alive and walking upon the likes of my world?
Soon drifting off to sleep, flashes of light shone deep into my eyes.
"Meow?" My voice questioned as a purple Pegasus stallion came up to me. He held out his hoof to me, like he was waiting a long time to see me face to face again like we had done with the doctor. Meow looked at me with some look on his face that seemed to be turning me onto him, like this was something I really wanted to do.
"Crystal Feather? Tell me one thing for me. Will you always love me? Like you have done when we were with the Doctor." he asked me once his gaze took hold of my body.
I stared at him with a confused look crossing on it, was he really asking something from me? Is je wanting me to be his forever mare? To care for his young foal? Care for him and his crazy self? And to take on what I have been holding back for so long.
Beep! Beep! The alarm clock sounded from the side of the bed, close to where Emerald laid half asleep, trying to catch up the lost short amount of time she had early this morning. She looked so peaceful snuggled up next to me for comfort away from what to her seemed like a scary dream, I hate to be the one to push her out of bed because of school being today.
Pushing my muzzle against her half sleeping body, bringing her to an unbalanced state of sleep and awakening. Emerald looked at me with her sleepy eyes, she rubbed them trying to adjust to the sunlight Princess Celestia with every pony in Equestria.
"What do you need Mama? It can't be time for school yet." Emerald pleaded/
I chuckled and patted her on the side, trying to get her out of my bed, "I don't mean to burst your bubble Emerald but it is time for school and you know better than any pony else that you have to go school no matter what happens. The only time you can miss it is when you are very sick."
Emerald rolled her eyes and sighed, "I know Mama I know... I just wish that it wasn't entirely something that Comet and I had to do."
"I understand you completely dear, but this is the best for you two." Emerald soon got up from my bed ad trotted away to her bedroom slow as a snail. I grabbed up my notebook and lucky crystal quill off of my desk and placed them into my saddlebag my mom, Metal Stitch, made for me a long time ago a couple of weeks after I had left for college in Ponyville.
Making my way out into the living room; leather brown furniture placed neatly along the blue crystal walls, rugs placed gently against the ground, and pictures of my friends, family, and my pet wolf Star sitting on the end table against the brown couch on the far wall.
I found Star out in the streets hurt and confused about where she was and was she going to be able to make it all by herself. I took her home with me and showed her the ways of a pony, soon she became my assistant and companion for a little over four years. After I had left from being off with the doctor I found out from my mom that Star was at the house with her not doing any of the normal things she would do when I was around. Soon she had disappeared and has yet to be found. After a couple of years of looking where she could've run off to, I decided it was best that I went ahead and let her go. Wherever she had gone, I still hope that she found someplace where she was needed best with the abilities that I had taught her.
"Ms. Feather? Are you okay?" I looked down shaking myself out of the daze I was in. It was Comet staring up at me with her eyes filled with worry. I smiled and responded back to her, "Yeah I'm alright. You know you don't have to call me that anymore. I'm here taking care of you now, you can call me Crystal."
"I know... Crystal... But it seems still formal to call you that." Comet looked at her hooves as she said this to me. I sighed and placed my hoof to her face.
"Don't worry about it Comet, it's alright now. I really don't mind, I was just giving you some other option to call me by."
Comet pulled her head away and trotted towards the front door grabbing her saddlebag. Using her magical charge, she opened the door all on her own and walked on outside by herself. Emerald soon ran out of her room and then to the saddlebags only giving time to yell out to me, "Love you mom!" And then she was out in a split second. The house fell silent to little filly voices that once roamed the house. All I could here was the house popping and cracking as it settled between the weather and the weather I had it set to inside.
Collecting up some apples and water for a small lunch at work, I began going deep into my thoughts again, but this time not just only in my head.
"Is Emerald's vision true? Is there still a chance that Meow is still around and wondering around this world alone and confused on where I could be? Did the doctor fake his death? I remember him becoming a little jealous when the doctor began getting a vibe that Meow and I were falling in love. Or was he trying to protect me like he always does for his companions?" The questions swam and obliterated my mind with only Meow. Soon my alarm clock went off again telling me to leave the house.
I gathered up my saddlebag and opened the door. Looking back towards the empty living room and smiled just thinking in my head, Let's just make it through the day and we'll make the best of it. Closing the door behind me, I shut the light off and made my way off to the castle.
***
"My dearest Princess Twilight," Princess Cadence started as my quill began flying as she spoke, "It's been a little while since we got to spend time with one another alone. I'll be coming to visit you next week, I can't wait to see you and all your friends. Maybe go on another adventure. Your sister-in-law, Princess Cadence."
I rolled up the scroll and handed it off to the messenger almost like Twilight's dragon Spike. The letter went on it's way and I looked over at Princess Cadence.
"What is it Crystal Feather, do you need to leave early?" she asked once she noticed that I was staring. I shook my head out of my trance.
"I'm sorry that I just stared off into space. I was just deep in thought about something that had happened last night." I responded twirling my quill around.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
I glanced over towards her with a look that could cause her not to ask the question again, "No I'm fine. Nothing to worry about. I'd rather just get things done Princess."
Princess Cadence looked away towards the window near her throne, a look like she was doing a kind of worry thinking. Then she looked back at me, "Alright. Well I don't have anything else to do today so, you can go home early, my treat. Only if you want."
"Oh, uh thank you your majesty." I bowed down at Cadence's hooves then proceeded out the door with my saddlebag on my back. Crystal Empire seemed quite as I exited the castle. It seemed like no pony was outside, but there was only a few of them out of their homes.
Making my way towards the park, the normal place I would meet Comet and Emerald Rose whenever the Princess would let me leave early or tell me to go home. Sitting on the bench that had total comfort on it only if I laid across it with my hooves to the side and my front hooves on front of me as I wrote any of my stories.
As I took my position on the bench, pulling out my blue notebook and crystal quill from my saddle bag that became ratty overtime. Sticking out the other side was a purple spiral notebook with sheets of paper poking out of it. I smiled, Meow's drawing notebook the doctor handed to me when I found out that he was gone. I haven't really looked at it honestly, I have been too busy wishing that he was alive and him being gone was all a dream. Grabbing a hold of the notebook, placing it in front of me I opened it and looked at the first picture. They all were amazing, each detail read out a story, a memory of which touched me.
He had drawings of all of his friends and family, soon I reached a part where the pictures soon transferred where they were of the doctor and/or I. I remember seeing him stop when the timing was perfect and pick up this notebook. He wouldn't ever let me see, I can't see why not. I soon looked up from the notebook eyeing a purple stallion chest, glancing my eyes up closer to the purple stallion's eyes. There he was, Captain Marben Kolenko AKA Meow. My eyes widened as I slowly got up from the bench.
"Meow? Is that really you?" I asked holding my hoof to his face and a couple of tears falling.
He grabbed a hold of my hoof that was on his face and pulled me close, "It's really me Crystal."
"I thought you were dead? Comet thinks you're gone too."
"Not quite, you see I left my uniform on the TARDIS and then I lost the doctor. He must've thought that I died and brought you my stuff. All that matters is that I came back. Aren't you happy that I'm here for you now?"
"Meow, I'm way more than happy, I'm just amazed that all this time you were gone from our eyes, you were here. Where have you been?"
"I was in the war still after I found out that the Doctor had left me. The war was over and I wanted to find a way back to where you are. The stallions and the scientists worked together to find a way for me to reach you and today they finally found a way for me to reach here. I appeared in some random house here and almost ended up in bed with the family's daughter which I'd rather save the time for my very special some pony."
"Who?" I asked cringing. What if I wasn't his special some pony anymore? Did he change his mind about me?
Meow chuckled a little bit, "You silly filly, my special some pony is you."
I blushed and sat back down on the bench. Meow sat down by my head and smiled, "Do you think there is any chance that I could have my sketchbook back?"
I looked at my notebook and saw Meow's sketchpad, I closed it and handed over the purple spiral notebook to him and handed him my spare crystal quill. He opened his notebook and began drawing, this one looked like, as I watched him draw, he drew out Comet, Emerald Rose, himself and then me all together in a big hug. Like we were one big happy family.
"What is that Meow?" I asked possibly knowing what the answer was. But wanting a true answer all I was wanting; was Meow going to ask me to marry him. If he was, what was in store for me?
"That's us Crystal, us all together once again like a family. Maybe that will be us in the future." Meow responded.
"Maybe with a little more foals if we did..." I added when he paused. Meow looked at me and smiled, I'd never thought I would see that beautiful smile again. Meow was here with me, he was here... my dreams finally came true.
He soon grabbed my face, rubbing his hoof against my head passionately with his hoof. His eyes slowly closed and his lips pressed together like a kiss. Normally I would've pulled away from a random stallion who was trying to do this to me, but he was different like that time away from each other only brought me closer to him rather than farther away. Pressing my lips together as his muzzle met mine... it was amazing, exuberant, like this was something I longed for and I had.
Slowly as he moved his head away, I opened my eyes and stared straight into his beautiful diamond blue eyes that just sparkled. "Did you like that?" Meow asked probably wishing that he wasn't going to be brought down by me, I don't know why he would think that way.
"Meow, that was one of the best kisses I have ever received in a long time." I took a deep breath trying to catch up with my heartbeat, "Thank you Meow."
Glancing over his shoulder in the distance was both Comet and Emerald Rose, luckily they didn't see Meow and I kissing.
"Mom!" Emerald called. Meow turned around as I looked further up; I saw Comet's freeze and her eyes widen. I knew in that moment that she was bewildered and happy to see the stallion she has known basically all her life not dead.
"DAD!" I heard Comet cry out as she came galloping up towards us. Meow stood up and opened his hooves catching Comet once their bodies had met one another. Comet was in tears and barely able to catch her breath.
"I missed you so much!" Comet cried out as they both hugged.
"I missed you too my little Comet. Oh, you little goof." Meow responded back rubbing her back and holding her tightly.
Once they both let go of each other, Meow grabbed a hold of Emerald and I into another hug, "I think we are going to make one happy family..."
"Who is this stallion mom?" Emerald asked pulling away from the hug. Acting so unlike her own self, Emerald usually asked good questions in whatever position she was put in, but pulling away from a hug was what made it so odd.
"Emerald, this is Meow. Remember?" I responded grabbing a hold of her, "His death was a misunderstanding." I went up to her ear and whispered, "It's okay Emerald, he hasn't asked me to marry him so we are still on the dating stage."
Emerald stared at me, looked at her hooves, and then back at me, "Okay, but I'd like to test him to make sure he is the one I'd like to call Dad and be the best husband to take care of the best mom in the world."
"Alright Emerald. But nothing too extreme okay."
"Me? Extreme? Please mom don't make me laugh."
Walking back towards Meow and Comet, I looked at Emerald and she stared at Meow square in the eye, "You are welcomed into the family, but I need to warn you right now, Me-ow that I will be testing you... making sure you are the right stallion for my mom. You'll never know when it's coming."
Meow didn't freeze, nor did he tense up like he knew that Emerald was going to do it. "I'm ready whenever you are."
That very night, sound asleep in our own beds, well Meow was out on the couch. I laid in my bed with a rather large smile on my face, Meow was here. Not the Meow in my dreams, bit the Meow that is in the flesh... Who knew what was in store for our future.
