I can be your hero

Twilight sat on a stool as Rarity add some flowers in her mane.Her mane was styled in curls and adorned with purple and red roses.She also wore a veil that was pulled behind her head.

"And...done."Said Rarity as she put the last rose in her mane."My,my darling you look simply georgeous."Rarity was certinely satisfied with the fruits of her labor.

Her other friends also commented on her beauty.Each one of them was wearing the bridesmaids dress that was designed by Rarity,of course.

Twilight looked at her reflection on the mirror.She could see herself dressed in a white wedding dress with some dashes of gold in it and a lavender ribbon tied on her waist.Her wedding dress sparkled thanks to Rarity who added some tiny pieces of diamonds on her dress.She had to agree with her friends,she did look stunning.

"Where's the blushing bride?"Said Twilight's father as he and his wife entered the bride's room.

Twilight immediately got out from her seat and went to her father.They greeted each other with a warm nuzzle and embrace.Twilight likes her father's nuzzle.It would always be warm and welcoming.She went off to greet her mother with the same nuzzle and embrace.

Night Light looked at his daughter amazed and proud but he also felt  a little bit sad.He could feel his eyes slowly getting heavier with tears.

Twilight smiled at the sight Night Light tearing up."Dad,don't cry."She levitated a handkerchief and wiped off her father's tears.

"I'm sorry Twilight.It's just that this is the first time I truly realized that my little filly is all grown up.It seems only yesterday,I found you sleeping in the family library."The sparkle family chuckled at the fond memory.

Twilight went over to her father and nuzzled him."Oh..dad you know I'm always going to be your little filly like I always have."She gave him a peck on the cheek."I love you,dad."

The mane 5 awed at the touching family moment.

A slight cough turned all the occupant of the room's attention towrards Spike who was dressed in a tuxedo and holding a pillow with a diamond necklace on top of it.

All the way to Twilight's room,Spike had to resist the urge to eat the diamond necklace.

He made his way towards Twilight Velvet.She grasp the necklace with her magical aura and smiled at Twilight lovingly.

"Twilight,sweety,I want you to wear this necklace."Said Twilight Velvet as she put the necklace on Twilight using her magic."It's been in our family for generations.My grandmother gave it to her mother.She gave it to me and now I'm giving it to you.I do hope that one day you'll give it to your daughter."

Twilight groaned silently when her mother said 'her daughter.'She detested the idea of making love to Blueblood in order to concieve his child but she still put on a fake smile.

"Thanks mom.I love it."She reached out to her mother and nuzzled her.

After the nuzzle,the mane 5 and spike gathered around her.Each of them with bright smiles.

"Woah,Twilight..you look really,really beautiful and....delicious "Said Spike as he looked at the diamond necklace while drooling.A little head shake reminded him to control his apetite.

She blushed at his compliment."Thanks,Spike."

As Twilight was being complimented by her friends a royal guard entered her room."It's time."

Twilight nodded and with a sigh she along with parents and friends start their walk to the hall where the wedding was held at.This was the start of her worst day ever.

Prince Blueblood walked down the aisle nervously with Princess Luna acting as her best mare.When Luna first met Blueblood she was a little apprehensive but they bonded through video games which Blueblood introduce to her.

As he walked he looked at the guest's expression.He was afraid they would be disguted that he was wearing the medal of valor.He was afraid they would curse or mock him but none of them were looking at him with disgust instead they were smiling at him espacially the mares but when they passed through Shining Armor,he muttered bastard under his breathe.

Blueblood sighed but he put on a strong face and continued to walk  down the aisle.He won't let Shining Armor ruin this day.When they reached at the end of the aisle,they were greeted by Princess Celestia with a smile.

The princess of the night looked at her nephew closely.He looked rather dashing in his white tunic but he did look rather nervous.Although ponies defines him as a charismatic prince but underneath that handsome face was a scared little colt.

"Nervous,nephew."

Blueblood chuckle while scratching his head akwardly."That obvious?"

"I understand that you are going through what the subjects call.....pre-wedding gitters but do swallow that feeling."

"Auntie,do you know the feeling when you're excited and nervous at the same time."

"Yes I do.Twilight Sparkle's friend,Pinkie Pie called the feeling nervouscited."

"Well,I'm feeling it right now but don't worry."He took a deep breathe."I'm ready dor this."

Luna smiled at him."Marvelous."She looked to the great door with Blueblood following suit."Because here comes the bride."

The orchestra began playing a delightful tune accompanied by the singing of Fluttershy's songbirds.The great door opened to reveal Princess Twilight Sparkle hoof in hoof with her father,Duke Night Light.She was indeed beautiful in the wedding dress.Blueblood would certinely agree to that as he kept on staring her wide eyed and mouth open.Blueblood knew that she was always beautiful but today she just looked WOW.

Twilight strided down the aisle arm in arm with her father.Her friends were following behind her,smiling brightly.She wished she could feel the same.She couldn't even put on a smile.

When they reached down the aisle,Night Light kissed Twilight's forehead and nuzzled er.Then,he went off to join his wife.With one last glance at her smiling father,she went to Blueblood's side.

Celestia smiled at the couple in front of her befotre clearing her throat."Mares and gentlecolts,we are gathered here today to witness the union of Princess Twilight Sparkle and Prince Blueblood Alistair Emir.Dearly beloved,let us all hope thier marriage will be blessed with hapiness and bountiful children."

She turned to Blueblood."Do you,Prince Blueblood Alistair Emir take Princess Twilight Sparkle to be your wife from this day forward to love and to hold.Do you promise to care for her,to guide her in times of distress,to honor and cherish her each and every day in sickness and in health,for richer or for poprer,for better or for worse as long as you both shall live."

Blueblood didn't answer.He was to occupied staring at Twilight.Luna knowing that the task of the best mare is to make sure the groom doesn't make a fool of himself,nudged Blueblood in the shoulder.It made him aware of the situation.

"I do."Said Blueblood earnestly.

Celestia nodded and turned to Twilight."Do you,Princess Twilight Sparkle take Prince Blueblood to be your husband from this day forward to love and to hold.Do you promise to care for him,to guide him in times of distress,to honor and cherish him each and every day in sickness and in health,for richer or for poprer,for better or for worse as long as you both shall live."

The moment of truth.She could say no and ran away to Flash and they can finally be together.She was about to say no but when she saw her parents smiling face,she knew she can't break her family's heart.So,with a heavy heart she said,"I do."

"I know pornounce you husband and wife.May we have the rings please."

Spike walked to Blueblood's side carrying a pillow with a ring on it.Blueblood grabbed Twilight's ring and put it gentely down her ring.Then,Twilight put Blueblood's ring on his horn using her magic.

The guest erupted in a tremendous applause and cheeres.Twilight Velvet couldn't help but shed a tear.Twilight at her friends,they were all smiling brightly at her with the exception of Rainbow Dash who was up in the air doing a sonic rainboom.He looked at Blueblood who was smiling at her like an idiot.No,she won't.Even though,she is married to him.She will not fall in love him.Never.

Blueblood looked at his wife with loving eyes.He couldn't believe he had just married Twilight Sparkle.It felt like a dream,a dream come true.He felt like as if he just swallowed a big box of dynamite.

Blueblood watched as the guest danced to their hearts delights on the dance floor. Couples were swinging each other without a care in the world. He looked back at Twilight who was looking down at her plate without emotion. He sighed.He wished she could be a little

happy. He hated seeing her sad.

The princess of love looked at the newlyweds. She was sitting not far from them. Her husband had gone off to who knows where.She could definitely feel Blueblood's love towards Twilight but Twilight wasn't even the slightest charmed with him. She decided to fix that.

She made her way to Blueblood.

"Congratulations you two.”she said enthusiastically earning a thank you from the newlyweds. “Bluey, why don't you take Twilight to the dance floor. Show her your moves.”

"That's a great idea.” He turned to Twilight and offered his hoof. "May....I have this dance."

Twilight groaned but still took his hoof because all the guest were watching. She didn't want to disappoint them.

”Let's get this over with.” she said quietly.

Blueblood gave a wink to Cadance before heading to the dance floor hoof and hoof with Twilight.

The fast music turned slow as they entered the dance floor. Pinkie Pie slowly dimmed the lights in the hall and the guest turned their

attention towards the couple.

Blueblood bowed and took Twilight gently by the hoof and started to sway slowly. Twilight was very uncomfortable with this for two reasons. For one,she can't slow dance really well and her dance partner is none other than Prince Blueblood. She was afraid she would embarrass herself but it didn't happen thanks to Blueblood. He was very good at covering Twilight's clumsy movements with swaying and twirling. He was a good dancer, Twilight had to admit. She couldn't believe she was actually enjoyed herself. Too bad he didn't watch where he was going and bumped into Discord who was in a tuxedo and dancing with Fluttershy.

“Oh, sorry Blueblood.” said Fluttershy.

"It's okay."

Twilight eyed Discord suspiciously. "Discord,I didn't know you'll be coming."

Discord teleported next too Twilight and put a paw over her shoulder. “Oh Twilight, I was invited,  wasn't I? It would be rude to not go. Especially this all of day. It's not everyday you get married.You two look like a cute couple.” He snapped his fingers and a crude drawing of Discord sitting on the branch of his thinking tree and watching Twilight and Blueblood kissing appeared in front of Twilight. "I drew that

you know.” he said proudly.

He grinned at Twilight which only earned him a glare. He sighed. He snapped his fingers and the drawing disappeared. ”But I understand if you don't want me to be here. I'll just go.” he slowly walk away while crying crocodile tears. "Really going here.” he shouted as he was walking away. "I'm half way to the door."

Blueblood rolled his eyes and went over to the lord of chaos. “Discord, don't go. Stay instead. I'm sorry on Twilight's behalf if she offended you. You know how she is. Besides, you did provide a smashing way to serve a drink.” He pointed to Pinkie Pie and the foals who were gulping down chocolate milk rain from cotton candy clouds

"I am a genius but...what about your wife?”

"You don't mind right Twilight? You've forgiven him.."

"Please Twilight.” pleaded Fluttershy.

Twilight looked at Discord who was looking at her while making puppy eyes. She groaned. "I guess he can stay."

Discord grinned mischievously behind her back."Get's her every time.” He turned to Twilight and slowly got rounder as if he was being filled up with air. Twilight was in for a shock when he literally burst. Blueblood chuckled. He is very,very annoying but he has some momments where he is less annoying.

He quickly reassembled himself and gave Twilight a back crushing hug. “Oh, Twilight thank you. You know what? No wonder you're the Princess of Friendship. I hate to admit it but Sunbutt did something right…for once."

He released her from his hug and immediately rubbed her sore back. Blueblood quickly went over to her. "Are you alright? That hug looked really strong."

"I'm fine.” She said coldly.

Discord gasped which brought their attention."Oh,I almost forgot your wedding gift.” He took off his top hat and looked through it for a certain book. "It's in there somewhere.” He took out a float, balloons, a grumpy raccoon and a kayak before finally taking out a book with a red bow on it. ”Aha,here it is.” He handed the book to Twilight who held it up with her magic.

"How to survive a marriage that your parents force you in to and you don't like who you married. HOW did you know?” she put the book in Blueblood's hoof.

"Oh,please It's so obvious and....I ...maybe was snooping around the hospital. Snooping is one of my many hobbies you know.."

Twilight face turned red and and angry.She was also growling a little bit at him. She couldn't believe he dared invade her privacy like that. Before Twilight could pounce on him and turn into 'firey Twilight' mode,t he soft voice of Fluttershy made her regain her composure.

”I'm so sorry Twilight but..."She moved in closer to whisper."But what he was going to give you originally was way worse and...inappropriate."

"What was said gift?”

"Trust me, you really don't want to know."

Twilight shook his head when the thought of what could possibly be Discord's wedding gift. She turned her head towards where she last saw Discord but he wasn't there. She tried to scan him among the sea of guest but there was no trace of him nor Fluttershy. She sighed. She didn't care. She began slowly walking towards her seat at the grand table.

Blueblood caught up to her. The book had already been put on the wedding present table.

"Don't you want to dance again. I don't want to boast but I was quite a dancer there. You looked like you were enjoying it,"

"Look,Blueblood...."

"Blue."He corrected her.

“Blue, you know we're never going to work out. Our marriage is based on responsibilities, duties and my father's sickness. It's not based on love. Love is important in marriage and we don't have it. For me, I don't think a marriage like that could ever work. I know you're trying to fall in love without me because you're such a dutiful stallion but I'll save you from trying too hard and I say I will never ever fall in love with you. I'm not in a mood to dance Blue.” With that, she turned around and walked away from her husband.

When she was out of hearing distance, Blueblood looked down. "Arranged marriages are awkward, difficult and overwhelming....at first. Sometimes you may wonder if the marriage can last without love. But in any relationship love is not the only thing that is needed. You need to be understanding,responsible and faithful. Know when to give up. You also need trust. Marriage helps us to gain those qualities. It's true, love cannot be forced but it needs effort to prove it. So,what I'm trying to say is we can learn to love."

"You do know she's gone right?”said Discord. The prince payed no mind to him and walked away.

After staying away from Twilight to give her some space, Blueblood finally stayed with her after the guest were starting to talk and he realized he had to be patient with her. He can't give up so easily because as he quoted, ‘Love needs effort to prove it’. So, he stayed with Twilight the whole reception, much to her annoyance.

At ten o'clock sharp the reception ended and guest started to leave. Twilight's parent had gone to their chambers after saying goodbye to the newlyweds. Night Light didn't forget to tell Blueblood a few wedding night tips. He could only blush as his father in law went on and on. All that was left at the great hall was Spike,the mane five, Blueblood and Twilght.

The mane five and Spike slowly walked towards the couple.Well, Pinkie Pie bounced to them. Each of them had smiles on their face, even Rainbow Dash.

"Ah know we said it hundreds of time before but congratulations you two.We're really happy for you.” said Applejack.

Each of the mane five give their congratulations to the newlyweds. Twilight politely said thank you even though she was quite annoyed with all the congratulations she was getting.

Rainbow Dash face turned serious. She stepped forward and moved ever so closely to Blueblood making him feel nervous. "Listen up.You better take care of Twilight. If you ever hurt her in any way, you have me to deal with.” she said as she flexed her wings.

Suddenly, Spike came in between the two, bearing the fieriest face he could muster. "And me. You got a ferocious fire breathing dragon to deal with.” He breathed a little fire towards Blueblood's face.

Blueblood looked to and from Rainbow Dash and Spike. He find in touching how Twilight has friends that care very much about her. He chuckled. "Don't you worry, I will always treat Princess Twilight Sparkle like a queen."

Twilight snorted.”Great, another pony to be intimidated by me.”

Blueblood's face became flustered. "I...didn't mean it like that.I mean I..I..I'll treat you well like how somepony would treat a..queen. I'm..I'm not intimidated by you.W-Why would I be intimidated by my own wife?"

"Your forehead's sweaty.” said Rainbow Dash.

He quickly wipe off the sweat and took a deep breath. “Look, what I'm trying to say is I do care for her. I'd gladly let her feast on me to save her from starvation.” The mane 6 and Spike looked at him bewildered. "That a sounded a lot better in my head. Back to the point, I care for Twilight Sparkle and the last thing I'll do is to hurt her. I pinkie promise. Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my- ow!” He winced in pain as he accidentally poke his eye while doing the 'stick the cupcake in my eye' bit.

Everypony except Twilight laughed at him. "Aww they even do the pinkie promise the same way.” said Pinkie Pie.

"Well, you two better go off to your chambers. It's getting late.” said Rarity.

“Blueblood, why don't you go first? I want to talk to my friends for a while."

“Alright...then." He said his goodbyes and started walking to his and Twilight's bedchamber.

As he walked along the grand corridor leading to his chambers,he pondered about his new role in life. During his  vacation at Saddle Arabia he learned that in their culture husbands are leaders in the household who must guide their wives and children to the path of goodness. He doesn't know how to guide somepony who loathes him but he will try. He must try.

He was to deep into his thoughts that he bump into Shining Armor. The prince apologized and quickly tried to get away but was blocked by Shining Armor.

He sighed. "What is it that you want?”

The guard looked at Blueblood. He find it amusing that he was clenching his teeth. "I just want to remind you,your marriage to Twily won't last."

"You don't know that.” said Blueblood.

Shining Armor scoffed."You think she's ever going to fall in love with you? Keep dreaming. Twilight had a boyfriend before the whole marriage thing you know. Flash Sentry. He's a strong guard. Although I did had some doubts about him, he was able too prove himself worthy of Twilight's love. Something which you will never be worthy of."

"It may be difficult to win her heart but it's not impossible. I may not be a muscular, tough guard but my feelings to her are true. That is the only thing I need for Twilight to fall in love with me.You'll she, will fall in love with me."

"Even when she learns the truth about your past?”

That broke him. Suddenly,images flashed inside Blueblood's mind about the dreadful night. His saw his comrades being slaughtered by the Griffon army with no mercy. They were crying for him to help but he couldn't do anything even if he wanted to.

A smile formed on Shining Armor's face as Blueblood showed his crestfallen face. "Thought so.” The captain thought he had done his job of breaking the prince's spirit. So, with a heart full of satisfaction he left the prince to dwell on his mistakes.

Twilight opened the doors to the her chambers. She stepped inside and immediately was greeted by the sweet smelling smell of roses. The room was decorated with the colors of romance. On the bed rose petals were laid in a shape of a heart.The typical setting for a honeymoon suite.

She looked around the room for Blueblood. There was no sign of him. He must be taking a shower thought Twilight as she heard the sound of water dripping. Suddenly, she heard the door clicked and a wet stallion, wrapped in a towel stepped out of the bathroom. As he was wiping his body he noticed Twilight standing in front of him.He faced turned red in embarrassment.

"Oh,Twilight I...I didn't see you there."

"Yeah,can you get out of the way.I want to take a shower.” Blueblood immediately stepped aside from the bathroom door. Without saying another word,Twilight grabbed a towel and entered the bathroom.

After drying himself, a yawn escaped from his mouth. He glanced at the clock.The time was half-past eleven. As another wave of sleepiness came, the prince decided it was time to retire to bed. He put the towel away and walked slowly to the bed but just as he was going to fell onto it, a sudden thought came to his mind. Twilight may not be comfortable with a him sleeping next to her.Even though,he is her husband.

So, he walked to the closet and grabbed a sheet, a pillow and a blanket. He laid the sheet next to the bed and added the pillow and blankets to finish off his makeshift bed. As soon as he was finished,the tired Blueblood laid on the soft blanket.

His eyes were about to close when he heared the sound of Twilight coming out of the bathroom.It didn't take long for Twilight to find Blueblood laying on the floor.She looked at him curiously.

"Why are you sleeping on the floor?"

"Well,I thought you won't be comfortable with me sleeping in bed with you."

"Oh....thank you but won't you be uncomfortable sleeping on the floor."

"I'll be alright.I've slept on worse ground than this.The bed is all yours."

"Okay."

After drying herself, she lay down on bed waiting for sleep to carry her away to the the land of dreams. It didn't take long as she was exhausted. Blueblood joined her soon after but not before saying good night to his wife quitely.
