Equestrias Darker side

Vito Antonio Scaletta Mafia member since he returned from service in the army. He joined the army to avoid jail time for robbing a jewelry store, When he returned home Vito found his dad left the family in massive debt. He realized the only method of making money he thought was available. He joined the Mafia.

Vito walked up the sidewalk headed home from an eventful day at at work. He wasn't really paying attention to what was going on around him. Instead he was thinking about what he would tell his employer that he had failed to procure the target. Suddenly someone ran into him at full force knocking him to the ground. He got up and looked at the person who had knocked him over. She was a tall, blue skinned woman, with dark blue hair. Vito thought the hair was made out of stars, but chalked it up to just a trick of the light. The woman was wearing a dark blue blouse and khaki slacks beside her was a dark blue duffel almost exactly like the one he had been hired to obtain. She got up and kept on running away. Vito started to follow her, until she ducked down a dark alley. He caught up to her, and hid behind a dumpster. It stunk with yesterday's trash and other non-mentionable things. The woman pulled what appeared to be a piece of chalk out and began drawing symbols on the wall. This reminded Vito of WWII where he had heard stories of Nazis being able to access other worlds and dimensions by drawing symbols to create portals. When she finished the symbols glowed with a deep blue aura. and slowly a doorway appeared along the wall. The woman walked through and it began to close. ”What the hell just happened” Vito  said he made a quick decision and walked through the doorway after her.

Vito woke up in a dark room he was face down behind a group of crates in what appeared to be a storage room. He heard voices out in the hallway. He walked up to the doorway so he could hear them better. Both voices sounded female.

"Luna where have you been I've been looking for you for hours" one said furiously.

"What does it matter to you where I have been Celestia" the one he assumed to be Luna said indignantly.

" You need to stop going to the human world it is interfering with your royal duties" Celestia said angrily.

"You have no power over what I do in my free time" Luna Shouted.

Vito heard what sounded like a horse galloping away closely followed by another set of hoofs. "This is a strange place" Vito said to himself. He listened to make sure the hallway was empty. when he was sure it was he walked out. He looked around and realized he appeared to be in the main entrance way of a castle. Vito walked outside into a large courtyard with several guards who weren't looking in his direction. He took the opportunity to hide when a pair of what appeared to be unicorns in golden armor started walking in his direction. The fact that they were talking was the only reason he managed to jump into the hedge before they ran into him. He waited for them to pass by and stepped out. He began to walk towards the gate when suddenly a guard stepped in his path and pointed a spear at him.

"Halt" the guard said.

Vito considered his options kill the guard or stop? He decided he didn't want to get caught somewhere he wasn't supposed to be. Now how to kill the guard break his neck or shoot him? He decided shooting was a bad idea. Plus he didn't know if he would be able to find any bullets in this world. He grabbed the spear and yanked backwards. The guard not expecting this was jerked forward. When the guard was in arms reach Vito grabbed him by the top of the head and under the chin and jerked his head hard to the left. The guards neck broke with a loud crack. Vito looked around to make sure none of the other guards heard the noise. When he was satisfied no one would come to investigate he drug the body into the hedges. He took a sack of gold coins off the guards dead body along with a leaf bladed dagger.

After leaving the castle courtyard Vito was walking around some alleyways trying to stay out of sight when something tapped the back of his leg. He turned around and a grey mare with black hair and what appeared to be a purple treble symbol on her flank was standing there. "What do you want" Vito asked cautiously slowly reaching for his gun just in case.

"I was wondering if you wanted to buy some cracked sapphire" the mare said. "It's only one hundred bits for 30 oz." she said.

"Whats cracked sapphire" Vito asked curiously.

"Only the finest drug in Equestria" the mare said enthusiastically.

"Thanks but I don't do drugs" Vito said. "Is there someone I could talk to who might know how to help me"he asked her.

"Actually yes I do" the grey mare said. "My name is Octavia Melody" she said.

"I am Vito Antonio Scalleta" he said.

"Lets get you to Lyra's house" Octavia said. "She'll let you stay with her for as long as you need" Octavia said excitedly.

As she led him to the gates of the city he began to think about what to do in this new world. Where would he work and how could he get home if he needed to? He decided he would figure that out later as he walked towards a medieval looking town with huts that had thatched roofs. This sadly reminded him of his families home which had burned down. But that was a memory for another time. They approached a hut on the outskirts of town where a mint colored unicorn sat in a chair reading what looked like a textbook. Upon closer inspection Vito realized it was a book over Anthropology the study of humans. The unicorn looked up and a smile broke out on her face.

"Oh my gosh" she said excitedly. "Octavia is this a real human or are you pulling another prank on me" she asked standing up to better inspect the human in front of her.

"No Lyra this is a real human" Octavia said. "He needed a place to stay and I figured you would let him stay here with you" Octavia said happily.

"Of course he can stay with me" Lyra said giddily. "What's your name" she asked Vito.

"My name is Vito Antonio Scalleta" he said.

"That's a long name" Lyra said.

"Well you two have fun" Octavia said. "I need to get home so I can spend some time with Vinyl" she said happily.

"Bye Octy" Lyra said still looking at Vito. "Let me show you around the house and then you can get cleaned up and rest" Lyra said still excited to have met a real human.

"That sounds nice thank you" Vito said relieved to finally get some rest. It had been a long day and the sun was beginning to set. After showing him around the house Lyra said she had to go and help a friend but would be back soon. So Vito took a shower and when he got out he checked the kitchen finally settling on a bottle of hard Apple cider and some fresh apples to tie his hunger over. He walked back to the room he was staying in and decided it was time for some well deserved rest. He would figure out what to do next tomorrow. He slipped into the bed and immediately started to fall asleep.
