Love Quest - Finale
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Twilight? What are you doing here?" Gumdramon asked, blushing from the commotion that they caused.
"C-Cadence told me that s-she heard about my crush on a certain pegasus, that will not be mentioned, was not going well. So, she said that she found me the perfect stallion and told me to meet him here. But what are you doing here?" Twilight asked, blushing intensely in her current predicament.
"Well Cadence told me that I didn't have a real fever. it was just a spell she put on me to get you two out of the room. She said that my heart was lacking love because of me never having a romantic relationship and when Fl... Uh, a certain pony broke my heart." He was now blushing even more than Twilight. "So, she made me go on thirty speed dates to find a special somepony, but that didn't work. She told me that this was going to be the last date before you and me return to Ponyville. But I never knew that she was going to choose you as my date!" Gumdramon somewhat yelled that last part, getting most of everyone in the restaurant to look at them.
The two of them started to blushing even more when they hear a couple of ponies saying stuff like, "Is Princess Twilight on a date with that thing?" and "They make kind of a cute couple.
The two of them looked angry , realizing what was happening. They looked at each other, saying a single name. "Cadence." They said through gritted teeth.
Cadence was looking out of the window of the castle, towards the 'The Crystal Cafe'. She grew a little smirk on her face. "Yep, they know." She said with a single laugh.
"I can't believe her! I mean no offence Twilight, your pretty cool, but I just like you as a friend." Gumdramon said, taking a seat at the table.
"It's okay." She said, blushing at the complement. "She's always doing this kind of stuff."
"Really?" He asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Yeah! Like this one time when she was foalsitting me, we saw a couple arguing and she used her magic to make them fall for each other again."
"Wow, that's some magic. I mean, being able to raise and lower the sun and moon is cool and all, but being able to bend other pony's emotions? That's something else."
"That's what I thought!" Twilight said, surprised by his words.
"Well, I brought my journals with me. If you wanted, I could show them to you while we eat dinner. Is that okay?"
Twilight smile grew even bigger. "Of course! I always wanted to talk to you about that."
Gumdramon just smiled and took out a worn out book with the shadow symbol on it. "Let's start with the first one.
Twilight and Gumdramon were both still looking over the book, empty plates on the table. "Wow, I never knew that there was an entire realm full of these things." Twilight said, surprised by all of the information she learned.
"Well, whenever Lord Plasmamon wants more Shadows, he either takes them out of that realm or he creates them using his own body." Gumdramon said, now sitting next to her.
Before Twilight could say anything else, a piece of paper was put on the table. "Here's the check, now bits."
Twilight rolled her eyes at the pony's rudeness, but before she could pull out her saddlebag, Gumdramon had already paid the pony. "Here you go my good sir."
The pony was surprised by the ten bit tip. "W-why thank you sir." He said, gaining a smile as he walked away.
Twilight simply looked at Gumdramon, blushing by the act of generosity. "W-where did you get all those bits?"
Gumdramon just simply smiled at her. "Well, I found a couple all around Ponyville Park one night. I couldn't find the owners of them, so, I just kept them. Well, until I had to use them to buy something."
"But, you didn't have to pay for my dinner too."
"Please, it's the least I could do for giving me a place to stay." He said, looking into her eyes.
Twilight looked away from him, blushing intensely. "W-we should probably head back to the castle." She said, getting up from the table.
"Sure, that sounds good to me." He said, following her.
As Twilight reached the door, Gumdramon had already opened it for her.
"T-thank you." She said, blushing even more than before.
Twilight had taken her dress off and put onto a manikin in the corner of her room. She was now looking into a mirror, trying to get the pin out of her mane. "Well, he is really nice." Twilight shook her head at this thought. "No! He's just a friend, that's it."
Twilight walked towards her bed, climbing into it. She yawned and slowly closed her eyes.
"Just a friend."
Twilight was inside of a tall crystal tower, awaiting her knight to save her. An arrow with a scroll on it was shot into her wall. Using her magic to lift it off of the arrow, she opened it to read.
Dear Princess. This is a message from the battlefront, from your trusted knight, Sir Gumdramon.
I have ridden thousands of miles
I have survived the deadliest trials
I've fought through battles you can't even dream
For a look at your beautiful gleam
Sword and steed are all that I've had
To conquer the evil over the land
But the beacon of light at the end of their schemes
Was the thought of your beautiful gleam
Lost in the dark of eternal night
Failing my quest meant the end of my life
And when things were the worst I wanted to scream
Then I thought of your beautiful gleam
Now I kneel and pray to the gods
Amidst fallen cities and crumbling facades
That I shall return and make you my queen
And bask in your beautiful gleam
Next thing she knew, a grappling hook was thrown at her window. She put the scroll down and saw that it was her true love.
And with these last words
I must now bid you adieu
You are my princess
And I will always love you.
They both hugged each other and looked into each other's eyes. She simply smiled at him. "There's that 'beautiful gleam' I've been searching for." They both leaned in, puckering their lips.
Twilight woke up, still puckering her lips. She slowly put a hoof on her head. "I do like Gumdramon." She said, shock by her realization.
