Spike's Inner Dragon - Part 3
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSpike was knocked out and laying down on a metal table. The room he was in was fairly big and made entirely out of crystal. There were also several large machines around the room. On the walls were multiple metal cabinets with glass doors hanging on the walls, each one was filled with a specific item (Such as beakers, small devices, and gems). Gumdramon was rushing around the room, grabbing several boxes and placing them next to the metal table Spike was on.
"Alright, that should be it." Gumdramon said, placing one more box next to the table. He began opening the boxes and connecting the pieces and parts together. While he was quickly putting the pieces together, Twilight was looking at Spike with a concerning gaze.
"Y-You'll be fine Spike. Gumdramon's going to find a way to help you." She said, petting the spikes on top of his head.
"Okay, just put this here, cross these wires and... THERE!" Gumdramon shouted in excitement. He walked back looking at what he just put together. It was a large monitor hanging on the crystal wall. There were several wires connecting the monitor to three computer towers. "Excuse me Twilight."
Twilight looked up, seeing Gumdramon holding a few wires connected to stickers. "Oh, sorry." She said as she backed away from Spike. She sat down and watched Gumdramon attach the stickers to Spike's head.
"I-Is he going to be alright?" Twilight asked, tears slowly forming in her eyes.
"We'll find out right... now!" Gumdramon shouted turning on the machine. The monitor turned on, showing a black outline of Spike's head, showing his brain. A certain part of his brain had a flashing dot. "Found it!" Gumdramon tapped the screen, zooming into the dot. It showed an extremely distorted and fogy version of Spike's room. There were many places with fractures that acted like pieces of a broken mirror. Several items were floating around or hanging upside down/sideways.
"What is that place?" Twilight asked, completely shocked by what she was seeing.
"That is called the Kaleidoscope. It's the part of your mind where memories, facts, dreams, nightmares, and anything else that your mind needed to get rid of." Gumdramon said, analyzing the screen.
"Why is it called the Kaleidoscope?"
"It's because that just like a kaleidoscope, everything in it overlaps each other and the further you go into it, the more distorted everything becomes. just like when you turn a kaleidoscope." Gumdramon explained, not looking away from the screen.
"How do you know so much about it?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Because I've spent a long time trapped in mine. That and I wrote a whole book on the subject. Here, just in case you have anymore questions." Gumdramon said, handing Twilight a book.
She looked at the book, noticing the cover was Gumdramon looking at a brain through a kaleidoscope. The title of the book was 'Kaleidoscope's In Your Brain?' and was written in comic sans. "I'll read it later." She said, levitating the book to a nearby counter. "So, what's wrong with it?"
"Well, since Spike's been acting like a different person today, I think a part of him that was locked away got out." Gumdramon walked closer to the screen, squinting his eyes. They widened as he backed up and began zooming in on Spike's bed. "I found him!" He shouted.
"Really?!" Twilight shouted in relief. She ran up to the screen, seeing Spike laying in his bed, shivering and rolling around in it. "Spike! Can you hear me?" She shouted at the screen.
"Sorry Twilight, this thing only let's us see inside his mind. I don't have the right equipment to communicate with him." Gumdramon said as he looked down at Spike's body.
"So, how are we supposed to help him?"
"Sorry, but I'm afraid that only Spike can help save himself. I can however help him by guiding him to the problem."
"But i thought you said you couldn't communicate with him."
"I said I didn't have the tools, but I do have the power to communicate with him." Gumdramon looked down at Spike, his the look in his eyes became very serious. "You have to promise to not tell anyone else about what you're going to see."
"I promise, just help him." Twilight said, doing the motions of a Pinkie Promise.
Gumdramon sighed as he slowly took his shirt off. Twilight quickly looked away blushing, but she was tempted to look. Once she did, her jaw dropped in disbursal. Gumdramon's torso had sever symbols on them, some of which were very familiar.
"G-Gumdramon, are those-"
"The symbols of the Clans. I was cursed by each of the Lords because they believed that all of their powers could corrupt me, but they were wrong. At least, I thought they were. I can use and absorb each Clan's energy, but if I have too much of one, it's power would start to change me. I won't be myself until I use enough energy, that way the corrupted form wouldn't have enough to keep it going." Gumdramon explained, looking down in shame.
"W-Why didn't you tell us about this?"
"I was afraid that you wouldn't see me that same way if you knew that I was such a rick to keep around. If I were to ever transform, I would have no control over my actions." Gumdramon said, a single stream of tears fell down one of his cheeks.
"I-It's alright. I may not understand how you feel, but I know that with our help, we can make it through this." Twilight said, holding Gumdramon's hands in her hooves. She gave him a little smile and Gumdramon returned it.
"Thanks Twilight, but we need to worry about Spike's well being right now." Gumdramon said, removing his hands and walking over to Spike's table. "Alright, here goes nothing." Gumdramon cracked his fingers before placing them of Spike's forehead. Gumdramon's eyes were closed, but a stream of purple energy flowed of of his eyes. The Nightmarous symbol on his right side began to glow the same shade of purple.
"Spike? Can you hear me?"
