Spike's Inner Dragon - Finale
Previous ChapterNext ChapterGumdramon squinted his eyes, the purple glow started to dissipate. "No, no! C'mon!" He shouted, causing his eyes to flicker a few times. Soon enough, his eyes were no longer glowing and he opened them.
"W-What happened?" Twilight questioned, flying over the the table Spike was laying on.
"He went too far into the Kaleidoscope. I can't connect to him anymore."
"What?! Then... what should we do?" Twilight asked, placing her hoof on her chest.
"I don't think we can do anything. Spike's the only one who can help himself now." Gumdramon said, walking away from the table.
"You mean there's nothing we can do?" Twilight complained, walking up to Gumdramon.
"S-Spike?"
Gumdramon and Twilight looked towards the staircase, seeing a small, white unicorn filly.
"Sweetie Belle?" Twilight said in shock.
"Okay, who left the door to my secret laboratory open?! Oh, wait... that was me." Gumdramon said, rubbing the back of his head in embarrassment.
"Sweetie, what are you doing here?" Twilight asked with a nervous smile.
"I-I noticed that Spike was acting really weird today, so I came here to see if any of you knew what was going on." She explained. "But that doesn't matter now. What's wrong with Spike?"
"Well long story short, there seems to be an alternate personality inside Spike's mind, but now we lost contact with him." Gumdramon explained.
"I still think we can figure out a way to help him." Twilight said, facing Gumdramon.
"And I told you that I don't know if there is another way." Gumdramon replied.
While the two of them were arguing, Sweetie Belle walked over to the table Spike was laying on. She got on the seat next to the table, elevating her high enough to see Spike. She inspected him, noticing some scratches and bruises on him. As she stared, she noticed that they were being formed right before her eyes.
"Oh, no! Spike, I'm sorry for getting angry at you earlier. Please, you have to get better." She said, grabbing one of his hands as she began to cry. Suddenly, she shot her head up.
A younger Sweetie Belle was crying, holding one of her forelegs. Cookie Crumbles runs in the room from the kitchen, sitting down next to her daughter.
"What's wrong Sweetie?" She asked, placing a hoof on her back.
"I-I hurt my leg!" She yelled in pain, streams of tears were still falling down her face.
"Okay hunny, let me see." She grabbed Sweetie's arm, pulling it closer to her. "Don't worry, it's only a little bruise." She reassured her.
"But it really hurts!" Sweetie continued to yell, but much quieter this time.
Cookie Crumble rubbed her chin, trying to think of an idea. "Oh, I know!" She turned her attention towards Sweetie Belle. "Do you know what your grandma used to do when I got hurt?"
"N-No..." Sweetie replied, sniffling.
"Well, when I was your age I used to get hurt all the time. Your grandma had a very special way of making me feel better. She used to sing this special song that her mother sang to her and when she finished, I felt so much better."
"Really?"
"Oh yes, and now I'm going to sing it to you my little angel. Just remember that if somepony you care about gets hurt, just sing this song and it'll make them feel better."
"Flower, gleam and glow, let your power shine, make the clock reverse. Bring back what once was mine." Sweetie began to sing. As she did, her horned started to shot green sparks and they landed on Spike.
"Heal what has been hurt, change the Fates' design, save what has been lost. Bring back what once was mine." Her horn finally started to glow green and the magic flowed from her horn and into Spike's chest.
"What once was mine." Her horn stopped glowing and the magic disappeared. She began to cry and a tear fell onto Spike's chest.
Spike ran at the Kaleidoscope version of himself, waving a fist in the air. He jumped up and tried to punch him, but was knocked back. Before he hit the ground he began to float in the air. He tried to swim, but immediately fell to the ground.
The Kaleidoscope Spike began to laugh. "Ha, face it loser! I've been here way longer than you. I know where everything is. Like so!" He then punch the air, but his hand disappeared. All of the sudden, his fist appeared behind Spike, knocking him down.
"H-He's right, I can't do this. I can't beat him, I can't fight here, and I can't even fight him." Spike said, tearing up.
"Finally you get it. I really wanted us to work together, but after locking me away, I think it's your time to be in timeout."
Spike kept crying, until he started to hear a familiar voice singing in his head. "S-Sweetie?" Spike began to get back on his feet.
"And just when I thought you finally gave up." Kaleidoscope Spike said as he created a distorted ball of energy. He threw it at Spike, creating a fog. "Wait, there shouldn't be any fog. What's going on?"
Spike slowly walked out of the fog, a green, flame-like glow surrounded him. "I'm not going to give up. Not as long as I have somepony supporting me."
Kaleidoscope Spike began throwing countless balls of energy at him, but to no avail. They kept bouncing off of his aura. "Why isn't this working!" He said in a panic. Suddenly, Spike began to charge at him with intense speed. With one punch, Kaleidoscope Spike fell to the ground, having less of a distorted effect around him. "Wait! Y-You can't get rid of me! I'm a part of you!" He pleaded as Spike towered over him.
"You're right, you are a part of me... A part I don't need anymore." Spike kicked him in the face, launching him across the void. He landed on the floor, moaning in pain.
"Ha! I'm still here!" He shouted to Spike. Before he could get back up though, the area he was on began to suck him under like quicksand. "N-No, NO! PLEASE YOU HAVE TO HELP ME! I DON'T WANT TO SEE IT! NO, NO, NOOOO!!!" He screamed. Spike stood there, shocked by what he was seeing. In no time, Kaleidoscope Spike was nowhere to be seen.
"What just happened?" Spike said, scratching his head. He turned around, only to be confronted by a strange mirror. It was floating in midair, but wasn't moving around. Spike walked up to it, noticing that the mirror actually had glass doors on it. He looked into the mirror, seeing a shadowy version of himself. Before he could do anything else, it opened it's eyes.

Spike shot up, breathing heavily. "Whoa, that was-" He was stopped when a pair of white hooves pulled him.
"Oh ,Spike! I'm so happy you're okay!" Sweetie cried out, holding Spike in a intense hug.
"S-Sweetie?!" Spike said, blushing a bit. "You're choking me!"
"Oh, I-I'm so sorry! I-I was just so excited when I saw you get up." Sweetie explained, blushing a little as well.
"Spike!" Gumdramon and Twilight shouted in unison. They ran over to the table, pulling Spike in for a hug.
"Oh, we're so glad you're okay!" Twilight said, rubbing her face on his.
"I was so scared when I lost contact with you, I thought we'd never see you again!" Gumdramon said, shooting fountains of tears out of his eyes.
"I'm fine guy, really!" Spike said, slipping out of the hug. "I just need a minute to calm down after what happened."
"Speaking of which, what did happen?" Gumdramon asked, scratching his head. "What did you do to get better?"
Spike sighed, sitting down on the floor. "Okay, so this is basically what I know..."
"... And then I beat him." Spike said, ending his story.
"S-So my song helped you?" Sweetie asked, blushing.
"Yeah, I don't know why, it just made me think of why I shouldn't quit." Spike said, causing Sweetie Belle to blush even more.
"What do you think Gumdramon?" Twilight asked, turning her attention to him.
"Hmm, I might need some time to think this through and piece everything we know together. I might be able to tell you what all that stuff meant." Gumdramon said, sitting with his legs crossed. "Alright, now that that's settled, let's head back upstairs for some victory cookies!" Gumdramon said, quickly standing up and pointing a finger to the sky.
"Yeah!" Spike and Sweetie cheered as they ran up the stairs.
"Hold on kiddos, leave some of the peanut butter ones for me!" Gumdramon shouted as he ran up the stairs as well.
Twilight shook her head, giggling to herself. She was about to walk back up herself, but stopped when she heard a noise. She looked around, noticing a book had fallen off the shelf. She walked up to it and levitated it up. It read 'THE CLANS' as the tittle in black marker. She looked around the lab, seeing if anyone was still down there. She teleported the book and herself back to her room. She quickly placed it under her pillow and teleported to the kitchen.
" I don't get it, why did you bring me here?" Kaleidoscope Spike said to the mirror. "Why aren't you going to get rid of me after everything I've done? I'm a part of Spike that's not needed anymore, so why?" He questioned the shadowy Spike in the mirror. Suddenly, Kaleidoscope Spike's eyes widened. "I get it now! You you get rid of the parts of Spike that aren't needed, but I'm no longer a part of Spike now, am I?" The shadowy Spike slowly nodded it's head, answering his question.
