How To Train Your Spike - Finale
Previous ChapterNext ChapterGumdramon was sitting down, leaning on his hand. He was looking at Spike punching and kicking at a punching bag. Gumdramon looked at the D-Drive, seeing a strait green line. "Uh, still nothing." Gumdramon got up and walked over to Spike. "Spike, c'mon! We've been here for an hour and nothing new happened. We should get back home before Twilight starts to get worried."
"What, no! I'm almost there, I can feel it!" Spike argued.
"Spike, it's the first day. You can't expect something amazing to happen on the first day." Gumdramon looked back at the D-Drive. "Besides, you haven't been able to switch this entire time. C'mon, let's go." Gumdramon said, gesturing Spike to follow him as he walked away.
"N-No..." Spike thought, clenching his fist. "I can't just be standing on the sideline or being used as a tool. I need to be able to help, I need to be able to fight! This is a sign that I have a chance to be something more. I need to do this for them, for Twilight, for the girls, for Ponyville, for... for..." Suddenly a flash of the dragon mirror with the shadowy Spike appeared in his mind. This doors opened a crack and Spike's eyes opened wide.
"FOR SWEETIE!!!" He shouted as he reeled back his fist. In an instant, his fist was engulfed in a multi-colored flame of red, blue, light purple, light blue, green, orange, and pink. As he threw his fist at the punching bag, Gumdramon turned around to catch a glimpse of Spike before his fist made contact. Instantly, the punching bag exploded, sending out a wave of energy with the same colors as the flame.
"*cough* Spike!" Gumdramon called out, waving away the smoke. Running over to where the punching bag was, Gumdramon saw Spike standing there. "Spike, what was that?!" He asked him. Spike stood there, staring blankly into space. "S-Spike?" Gumdramon said. He snapped his fingers a few times in his face, finally catching his attention.
"Huh?! W-What happened?!" Spike shouted, looking at the mess.
"You Spike! You're what happened!"
"Wait, what?"
"Spike, this is serious!" Gumdramon said, kneeling down to his level. "I need you to tell me what you just did!" Gumdramon demanded in a serious tone.
"I-I don't know, honestly!" Spike said, scratching his head.
Gumdramon rubbed his eyes before looking around. "Okay, let's keep this between us." Gumdramon said before grabbing Spike's hand.
"Wait, what do you mean?! W-We have to at least tell Twilight about this!" Spike argued while being pulled along.
"Trust me Spike, if this is what I think it is, then it be safer if Twilight didn't know unless we're sure about it, got it?" Gumdramon said, looking at Spike for approval. "You do want to keep Twilight safe, right?"
"Y-Yeah..." Spike answered, looking away.
"Alright! We'll comeback here tomorrow to see if this is what I think it is." Gumdramon said, not looking back at Spike.
"Hey Twilight, we're home!" Gumdramon called out, looking trough the halls.
"In here!" Twilight's voice emitted from the kitchen.
As Gumdramon and Spike got in the kitchen they stopped in horror. Twilight was floating a tray of burnt, soggy cookies. Gumdramon raised a hand as if to say something, but was immediately stopped by Twilight raising her hoof in front of him.
"I know, these look terrible. I mean, everything was going fine, but I got a package delivered at my door so I thought it would only take a second, but it turned out that the package wasn't for me, it was for somepony else! I tried telling the mailmare, but she insisted that it was for me even though it didn't have my name on it! That went on for so long that my cookies got burnt in the oven and then the mailmare tried to put the fire out even though there was no fire! After that it was already too late to make a new batch and I Pinkie promised to be there and bring cookies, so yeah that was my day, how was yours?!" Twilight asked, giving the two a stressed smile.
"Okay, I see you've had a rough day." Gumdramon began, taking the tray away and giving it to Spike. "How about we go in the other room and try to learn a new dance. That usually helps you calm down." Gumdramon suggested in a calming tone.
"Y-Yeah! T-That would be nice." Twilight agreed, blushing a little.
"And to make it a little better, I'll let you choose any kind of genre you want, okay?"
"A-Any one?" Twilight asked, looking at him. He gave her a nod and a huge smile grew on her face. "Y-You know, I-I always wanted to learn r-rumba." Twilight said, playing with her mane.
"Perfect! Spike you don't mind cleaning the rest of the dishes do you?" Gumdramon asked as he walked to the next room with Twilight.
"Already on it!" Spike said as he scrubbed the cookie tray in the sink. He turned to the door to say something, but they had already left. "Wow, and I thought my crush on Sweetie Belle was obvious." Spike said, rolling his eyes as he continued with the dishes.
Spike was laying in bed, hearing the rumba music playing downstairs. He stared at his hand, turning it around every so often. He closed his eyes really hard, but quickly relaxed them. "Sweetie Belle..." He said in a loving manner. Her heard a roaring fire and quickly opened his eyes. His hand was once again engulfed in the same multi-colored flame. He touched the flame with his other hand, but slowly pulled it away. "I-It's not even hot?" Spike looked at his the flame even closer.
"What is this stuff?" He thought and went to touch it again. He quickly looked at his other hand. Closing his eyes he focused again and when he opened his eyes, there was now another flame on his other hand. He slowly moved his hand around and the flames slowly followed, leaving a trail of colors for a few seconds. Spike began to focus again, this time without closing his eyes. And just like that, the flames disappeared. Smiling, Spike rolled over in his bed and looked out the window.
"Don't worry everypony, I'm here to protect you." Spike said before closing his eyes.
