Halloween: The True Story
Sabotage Ideas
Previous ChapterNext Chapter"Yay! It's almost here!" Surprise Song shouted happily. She loved Halloween. It was the best night of the year, and this evening, the night before Halloween night, she was going to get her costume! She bounced up and down, her blonde mane bouncing with her.
"Woah there, darlin'!" Tex Cactus, her colt friend and possibly husband shouted, grabbing her tail. "You've gotta slow down. Fizzy can't catch up!"
Surprise looked back. Fizzy was panting and trying to catch up. She wasn't very fast.
The three friends trotted into to Tootsie's candy and costume shop. Then Surprise saw it.
A purple, lumpy dress hung on a rack. It had a matching pair of horn rimmed glasses. It was perfect. It was the best Smooze costume she had ever seen.
"Ya like that dress, huh?" Tex asked. Surprise was just staring at the dress, eyes gleaming
"Uh, yeah!" Surprise shook her head out of her trance. Tootsie looked at her with a raised eyebrow.
Tex decided to be a, what else, cow pony. Fizzy was a witch, complete with a pointy hat. They bought their costumes and trotted out, nearly night time.
"Byeeee!" Fizzy called as she teleported, or winked, to her house. Knowing the ditzy unicorn, she probably ending up in a forest somewhere.
"Bye, darlin'!" Tex smiled, trotting away. Surprise looked as he left. He sure was cute. Little did she know she'd marry him one day!
She hummed a little song to her self as she trotted to her house. She thought about her auntie, Birthday Pie, and her uncle, Clearnote Song. Well, more like her adoptive parents. She had come to live with them after her parents sent her to live on her own. Birthday would always sing this song to her as a filly. The song had been in the Pie family for generations.
"Birthday, ya gotta stand up tall, learn to face your fears. You'll see that they can't hurt you, just laugh to make them disappear!" Her auntie would often sing this to her when she was scared as a filly.
Surprise hummed the tune as she trotted to her house. Just then, a cloaked figure pounced in front of her from a nearby alley way.
"Hello, Surprise." the mysterious figure said. Surprise thought the voice sounded familiar, but she couldn't quite place it.
"I've come here ta tell you that Glory is planning to sabotage your costume at the Halloween Ball tomorrow night." the mare of mystery said.
"Glory? No way!" Surprise gasped in shock. Glory was one of her best friends. She'd never try to sabotage anything, let alone a dress!
"Indeed." the mare said, pacing around Surprise menacingly. "But you could always do something about it."
"Uh... huh..." an uncharacteristically evil smile came onto Surprise's face. A clever idea crept into her head.
If Glory wanted to wreck her costume... she'd wreck Glory's! Plus, it would be an awesome show for the fillies. She'd be the life of the party! It was a great plan. Or so she thought...
As Surprise trotted away, the cloaked figure took off her cloak's hood. Her bright red mane tumbled down across her face. She smiled evilly and laughed.
"Now she'll pay fer what she did. Tex, and revenge, with be rightfully mine!" Truly laughed.
