What a Doctor can "Do"

Case File No. 003

I had fallen asleep shortly after cleaning up dinner. I woke up the next morning to a knock on my door. Coming downstairs, I opened it to the UPS guy.

“I have advanced medical equipment for a Danley Stoo?”

“Yeah its Stanley Do, and let me take you to my office next door where all this stuff needs to go.” I said probably a little more agitated than I should’ve been.

After setting up all my equipment and putting on my lab coat, which now did not obstruct my cutie mark. That thing pretty much gave me away to anyone who knew Daring. Both a good thing and a bad thing. I decided to go into town to get a coffee and a muffin. I arrived at sugarcube corner to obtain my breakfast fuel when I  noticed a familiar group in front of me. Except there was one I didn’t know yet.

“Heyo!” I said to the group at large.

“Hey it’s Stan!” said Pinkie

“Who?” asked the white one that I had not met yet.

“OH right, you haven’t met Dr. Stan yet!” Applejack said

“Doctor Stan?” the white unicorn’s eyes lit up.

Oh jeez

She slid right up to me and batted her eyes at me.

“What did you say your name was again darling?” She said looking up at me.

“Uh, my name is Dr. Stanley Do.” I told her

“His little sister is Daring Do!” Rainbow told the white one

“How fascinating, I’m Rarity. The local fashionista if you will.” Rarity said

“Nice to meet you” I said blushing.

She went into Sugarcube Corner first but I stayed back with the other 5

“She’s...odd” I said trying to find the right word.

“That’s one way to put it” Rainbow said rolling her eyes

While having my breakfast with the 6 ponies I actually know in this town, a grey pegasus approached me and asked:

“excuse me, but are you Dr. Stan Do?”

“Yes I am, how can I help you?” I replied

“I have a message from...” she looked down and read, “Mijando Outpost, Far East”

“Oh buck, that’s where I was before I came here. What does it say?” I asked with a worried look on my face.

“It says that your pet hawk, Bolt, should be at your house. He should have made it by himself by now” She told me

“Oh praise Celestia, I thought something had happened to my research or my colleagues” I breathed a sigh of relief.

I came home to Bolt sitting on the perch I had bought him in the Far East regions, which was where his true home was. I had stumbled upon Bolt 2 years ago when I found him stuck in a tree with a broken wing. Even after nursing him back to full health, he didn’t leave, he had developed a love towards me. So now I have my pet hawk back, probably best not to let him go near Fluttershy’s cottage. I thought to myself.

Bolt screeched and flew directly onto my back where he decided to perch himself. I had developed a thick skin and coat from my time in the northern regions, so the talons didn’t really bother me.

“Hey there buddy! Miss me?” I ask the majestic bird of prey on my back

A low squawk confirms that.

My office was still a mess. I needed to set up my operating room and my study. I was in the middle of organizing my filing cabinets when I heard a knock at the door.

‘Who could that be’ I wondered as I approached the door. I opened it to find Twilight standing there.

“What’s up Twilight?” I asked raising an eyebrow

“I need to see you in private” she said looking grave.

“Um, ok” i said, my curiosity intensifying.

“I prefer to talk in my library,” she said

“alright,” i agreed as we took off, making sure Bolt had his enough lettuce to last him a while and walked out the door.

We flew for a little bit before landing at the castle doors. We entered through the doors, and I having never been inside yet, was blown away by the sheer beauty of the architecture of the place. Twilight woke me from my trance-like state

“The library’s through this way.” she said

“Oh...right” I said

We walked through the door and it shut behind us. The room was thoroughly sound-proofed I could tell from experience. She motioned to a large couch and we both sat down.

“What’s up?” I asked, maybe a little too informally.

“Look,” she said, “I’ve noticed that some of my friends have been drawn to you.” She stated in a matter-of-fact tone.

“What?” I look at her in genuine shock

“I just wanted to tell you that most of them will be going into heat in a few weeks and they haven't had a stallion in years.” she told me in a dead serious tone.

“WHAT?!” I am genuinely in shock now.

“I think you know what I mean and remember, we get aggressive and we won’t back down unless you give us what we want.” She said with a coy grin.

“Oh, ok, I see. Thanks for the warning Twilight. I’ll prepare myself” I say returning the same coy grin.

I was physically prepared for heat season, but something tells me that my mind wouldn’t be ready until it actually happened. After all it was my first real heat season. I didn’t have much experience with mares, as I wasn’t a stud exactly in college, as a matter of fact I was pretty chubby, but 4 years abroad had made me kinda hunky: Chiseled features, a 5-o'clock shadow that wouldn’t go away, and visible muscles (though not as visible as Big Mclargehuge).

‘Oh Celestia’ I thought to myself, ‘I am a HUGE target for heat season’

A curse among blessings, or maybe another blessing, IF I go willingly with whoever gets me first. These next 2 weeks could go 2 ways, heaven...or hell.
