What a Doctor can "Do"

After a great nights sleep in Fluttershy’s house, I figured that it would be a good idea to go into town and go shopping for a house and new medical supplies. After wishing Fluttershy a good day, I left the cottage and headed back to “downtown” Ponyville. Some time later, I found myself with a new house right down the lane from Fluttershy’s place. Not finding much in the way of medical equipment, I figured I may as well order them from elsewhere. I was able to get the basics, splints, bandages, disinfectant, gauze, and, of course treats. After walking around for a while, I decided to go home and set up all my furniture. While in the middle of putting together a very complicated bookshelf, I was interrupted by a knock on my door. I opened it to see Fluttershy standing there looking a bit worried.

“What’s up Fluttershy?” I asked her looking quizzically

“Applejack said that her dog, Wiona, is sick. I told her about you and she asked if you could come down to Sweet Apple Acres and examine Winona” She said.

I wasn’t doing anything important so I said yes and whipped on my white coat and spread my wings and headed out. Fluttershy came with me.

“You must be Dr. Stan Do.” I was interrupted from my dream-like state by her voice. “Ahm Applejack.”

“N-nice to meet you, uh, Applejack” I stuttered. “So where’s Wiona?” I asked her.

“She’s lying down inside. She’s just been so sick and it’s not like her.” Applejack said to me.

“I’ll take a look at her” I said as I headed inside.

I took one look at that dog and immediately knew what was wrong.

“She’s suffering from heatstroke. I’ll need some cool water, and a fan.”

After receiving what I needed, I gave Winona small sips of the cold water and put the fan next to her. As I suspected, her condition improved immediately.

“Applejack, It’s the middle of summer and I don’t think you're an animal abuser, just make  sure that she takes breaks like you do. That’ll prevent this from happening again.” I stated

She threw her arms around me, causing me to blush slightly.

“Thank you so much Dr. Doo! Ah don’t know what I would’ve done without you!” She said

She pushed herself away.

“The pleasure’s all mine, and please, call me Stanley, everyone does.” I said to her.

“Well Stanley, if you ever need any apples, you know where to find me!” she chuckled

“I could go for some apple pie right about now, I’m starved.” I said

“Alright, why don’t we all head down to Sugarcube Corner, we don’t have apple pie right now, but you could get some snacks down there.” Applejack said, “Plus, you haven’t met Pinkie Pie yet either, so may as well knock that out of the way. I’ll leave Applebloom to take care of Winona.”

“Why not?” I said

So Fluttershy and I spread our wings and flew alongside Applejack and Big Mac, who was pretty chill about the whole Winona issue, went down to Sugarcube Corner.

As I opened the door, a pink blur knocked me to the ground, in a rather awkward position.

“What the buck?” I yelled

“HI, you must me the new vet, Fluttershy told me all about you and I’m so excited to meet you!!”

This must be Pinkie Pie. My suspicions were confirmed as Applejack asked the pink pony to get off of me.

“Hello Pinkie, I’m Stanley, Stanley Do. Nice to meet you” I said brushing myself off

As we all went into the shop I noticed a rainbow colored mane before Applejack pushed be back out.

“Hey, what gives?” I asked annoyed.

“That there was Rainbow Dash, the Daring Do superfan. She finds out who you are, kiss your life goodbye for a good 3 weeks!” Applejack warned me.

“Well I may as well get it out of the way now while I can.” I said.

“OK, I’ll respect your choice, just don’t say I didn’t warn you.” She said.

I walked over to the rainbow colored mare, and tapped her on the shoulder.

She looked at me and checked me up and down. Then she spoke,

“Um, hi, who are you?” She asked

“My name is Dr. Stanley Do. Or just Stanley if you want.” I said.

Her eyes went big, then her eyes drifted to where my cutie mark should be, which was covered by my white coat. Noticing this, I lifted it up so she could see my cutie mark, which looked similar to Darings. It was a compass rose with a stethoscope and a red cross over it. She went bug-eyed.

“Oh buck me! No freaking way! Are you...” She stopped awaiting confirmation.

“Yes, Daring Do’s older brother. My sister alway did have a way of outshining me.” I said flippantly. I could see the other ponies over-reacted to the whole “super-fan” thing, as Rainbow was rather modest and respected my space. She invited the rest of the ponies over and we all shared a snack and discussed local gossip. When it got dark, I invited Rainbow Dash over to my house for some dinner. It wasn’t a date, I just wanted to get to know my sister’s biggest fan more. I told Rainbow all the tales of my 4 years abroad in the various jungles and savannahs of the world. After finishing a great dinner of organic salad she spoke up.

“Ya know, I think you are just as cool as your sister. I mean your whole family is just a whole bunch of renegades. This has just been totally awesome, but I really need to get some sleep.” Rainbow said to me.

“Agreed, talk about one hell of a day. Good to meet you Rainbow Dash, I think everyone over-reacted to me meeting you.” I said chuckling

“Yeah, I mean, I’ve had my history” She said scratching her head, a smirk on her face.

“See ya around Rainbow Dash” I said

Before she exited, she gave me a peck on the cheek. Now that totally caught me off guard. Before I could say anything she whizzed out the door.

I think I’m settling down a lot faster than I had originally planned!
