The hardships of a lunar prince [Rough draft

Prologue: part 1

A new prince

Time: 11:00 pm 1005 years before Princess Luna’s return.

In the castle of the two sisters wile everypony was asleep a new life begins. That new life is a new alicorn pony. A Unicorn named Sombra and Luna’s firstborn named Nightsky are beside a bed where Princess Luna has just gave birth to a new prince of equestria.

“WHOO HOO! I got a new baby brother this is awesome.”

“Yes it is but son you must treat him with respect and loyalty it’s not a game.” Sombra says.

“What should we name him my love?” Luna says “I think you should name him Prince Nightblade.” Nightsky replies.

“Great idea son I think that is a perfect name for the child; what do you think Sombra. Luna replies.

“That would be a perfect name for the newborn prince; now you must get some rest you will need your strength for lowering the moon tomorrow; you should go to bed too Nightsky but do mind waking up Auntie Celestia.”

“Aww but I want to see my baby brother more.”

“You can see your little brother tomorrow your mother needs rest.”

Nightsky goes to get Celestia while Sombra goes to bed.

“Am I too late? Are you ok? How is the baby? Is he colt or filly?” Celestia asks hastily.

“Yes I am alright why don’t you see him for yourself.” Luna replies

“He is beautiful and looks a lot like you.”

“Thanks my sister it means a lot. Now we need to get to sleep. Wake me up when I need to lower the moon.”

“How about I take over the lowering of the moon tomorrow you need the rest.”

“Thanks Tia.” Luna says happily. With that Princess Celestia walks off too let the mare and the foal sleep.

“My beautiful little Nightblade someday you will have enough magical ability to raise the moon and protect all of equestria from the forces of darkness I promise you that.” Luna whispers.

Nightblade is a black alicorn pony that has a dark blue mane with streaks of light blue with his brother A Unicorn named Nightsky who are destined to change the lives of meny pony’s in the future.

4 years later

Time 11:30 AM

“Nightsky will you go get Nightblade to come down for breakfast?” Luna says

“Yes mom.”

Knock! Knock! Knock! “Blade it is time to get up its time for breakfast.”

“OK I am up. YAHN! Wow that was a good sleep how was yours big brother?” Nightblade asks.

“Mine was OK but I prefer to stay up most of the night.”

“Me too but mommy say that I need a lot of sleep at my age.”

With that said they go downstairs and sit at the table. Breakfast for today was peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and yogurt.

“What are we doing today mommy.” Nightblade asks.

“After breakfast I need you to clean your room and after that Auntie Celestia will give you your first magic lesson on levitation and then she will take you to the library to get a lesson of the ponys of equestria in the evening. As for you Nightsky you will go with your dad and practice some advanced defence magic then I will give you a history session in the evening as well.

“Sounds like a fun filled day for us eh nightblade?” Nightsky says.

“Definitely I would love to learn some levitation magic.” Nightblade replies.

After they finished breakfast nightblade goes with Celestia to the court yard to learn levitation magic.

“First of all you have to feel the magic within yourself to cast magic.” Celestia says.

“But how will I know when I am ready to cast a spell?”  Nightblade asks.

“Let me demonstrate watch that rock and my horn when I cast a spell and you will see.”

Celestia’s horn starts to glow as well as the rock and the rock starts to move upwards as Nightsky watches.

Celestia puts it down and nods to nightblade to tell him to try lifting the rock.

Nightblade’s horn glows a dark blue as well as the rock as he tries desperately to lift the rock but gets it 5 inches off the ground and then it drops.

“Sorry I cannot do it I will never be able to raise the moon.” He says with a sad look on his face.

“Nonsense you did very well for your first time. Magic takes time and study to learn. Remember that both of your parents are potent magic users. Unicorns studying magic can take months to lift a rock that size, and you did it on your first try. Now let’s try some more.”

Meanwhile

“Defensive magic is very important in protecting civilians you must be able to create a shield that is able to defend the citizens.” Sombra says

“Yes father I know you tell me this every day I understand it very well I was studying it every night like you say to.” Nightsky replies with an annoyed look on his face.

“Then show me what you can do!”

Nightsky’s horn glows as he starts to create a shield around him and his father. The shield was 10 feet in diameter and 20 feet in height he was able to hold it for 5 minutes before having to release.

“Very well son I guess you have been studying good job now we learn some more and then you can take a break till your next class.

It is 3:00 pm and Nightsky Nightblade Sombra and Luna are eating a late lunch of grilled cheese sandwiches.

“So nightblade and Nightsky what did you two do?” Luna asks.

“I got to use levitation to pick up a 30 pound rock!” nightblade says with a proud smile on his face.

“I was able to create a bubble shield spell that lasted for 5 minutes.” Nightsky says.

“That is great you two I am very proud of both of you. You guys deserve an hour long break go have some fun until we call you back.”

And with that the brothers went outside to play.
