Chapter 3: Awakening

Crystal Empire 1000 years later.

“You have to be the one to bring the crystal heart to the fare.” Twilight says to spike”

“Me? But twilight.”

“Go.”

“But.”

“GO!” Spike dripping with sweat picks up the crystal heart and jumps out of a window barely dodging the black crystals. “Now don’t yall worry your pretty little crystal heads; the real crystal heart will be here any second.” Applejack says with a worried look on her face.

“Don’t know if they believe you.” Rarity replies.

“Don’t know if I believe me.”

Princess Cadence’s magic fades after days of exhaustion. The shield protecting the crystal empire starts to diminish. King Samba puts an evil smile on his face and says. “Ahhhhh my crystal slaves.”   The crystal ponies start to panic running in all directions. Spike jumps to a crystal barely escaping getting stabbed. “HAY UP HERE I HAVE THE CRYSTAL HEART!” Spike says to Applejack and Rarity.

“GRRRRRR THAT IS MINE!” Sombra yells. Sombra dives into the ground. Spike runs down a ramp made from black crystal and sees Sombra shooting out of the ground spike does not notice that the ramp ends and he starts falling Sombra moving ever closer. “SPIKEE WIKEE!” Rarity yells and looks away. Shining armour sees spike and picks up princess Cadence. Princess Cadence looks up and spreads her wings while the crystal heart glows and makes Sombra loose his shadowy aurora the aurora. Just before Sombra can reach the young dragon Cadence catches spike and the crystal heart.

“BEHOLD THE CRYSTAL PRINCESS!” A crystal pony says pointing at Cadence. Cadence stomps on the fake crystal heart shattering it to pieces and says “The crystal heart has returned, use the light and love within you to ensure that king Sombra does not.” The crystal heart fly’s to the center of the tower and starts to glow. “What? No. NO STOP!” Sombra yells. The crystal ponies smile and bow to Cadence. The Crystal heart shines and sends 3 waves of light completely obliterating Sombra’s crystals and Sombra releasing twilight from her prison as well as sending a rainbow all across equestria. Celestia and Luna see this and smile.

A couple of minutes later and everypony is gathered around the crystal heart admiring when a pulsating light appears in the castle Twilight Cadence and the rest of the ponies run in to see what is happening. “What the hay is happening?” Applejack asks.

“I am not sure but I think it is best if we are cautious.” Cadence replies. The light suddenly bursts like a supernova blinding everypony for a second. When they look the light is gone; replacing it a small black  Alicorn colt with dark blue hair and light blue highlights is laying on the floor unconscious.

“Who the hay is that?” Applejack says with a confused look.

“I am not certain but look he has Unicorn horn and Pegasus wings he is an Alicorn.”  Twilight replies. They all scratch their heads in wonder. When the little colt’s eyes open.

“Ow my head feels like it was stomped on by a Manticore.” He says. The colt looks up and sees everypony and asks “Were am I? Who are you ponies?” Cadence walks up and lays down in front of the little colt. “You are in the crystal empire. I am Princess Mi Amore Cadenza but you can call me Cadence.” She starts pointing at everypony individually and says. “That is my husband Shining armour. That is Twilight Sparkle and her friends Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Applejack. What is your name?”

“My name is prince Nightblade.”

“Ok prince Nightblade what is the last thing that you remember.”

“I was here except it was filled with Black crystals I was running trying to stop my mom and aunt from banishing my father.”

“And who is your mother father and aunt exactly?” Shining armour asks.

“My mother’s name is Princess Luna, my father’s is Sombra, and auntie’s is Princess Celestia.”

“WAIT WHAT?” Everypony asks staring at Nightblade.

“Twilight you and your friends get back to Canterlot with Nightblade and get him to Princess Celestia and Luna.” Cadence says.

Twilight Nightblade and the rest of the ponies start to walk to the train station leaving Shining and Cadence. “Are you sure that’s a good idea Cadence? He could be dangerous, he did say Sombra was his father after all.” Shining says.

“Yes he did say that but he also said he mother was Luna and I would not be right to keep a mother from her son especially the rulers of equestria. You understand?”

Shining nods and follows Twilight and her friends to the train station.

A few Hours later.

Twilight has talked with Celestia about her passing the test and everypony had had celebrated and everypony went back to Ponyville except Twilight and Nightblade. They both go to the castle and Twilight tells Nightblade to wait right outside the throne room doors. Twilight approaches Celestia. “Twilight did you forget something?” Celestia asks.

“No there is just somepony I need to show you.” Twilight replies.

“Oh really who?”

Twilight tells Nightblade to come in Nightblade sees Celestia and runs to her.”

“AUNTIE!” He yells out of enjoyment. The royal guards get into a defensive position, but Celestia tells them to stand down. Nightblade jumps right into Celestia’s loving arms.

“Nightblade oh my goodness I have missed you.” Celestia says happily.

“Where is mom? Can I see her?” Nightblade asks.

“Twilight do you mind getting Luna I think Nightblade wants to see her.” Celestia asks.

“No problem.” Twilight says as she runs off to get Luna. About five minutes go by then Luna walks in with a tired look. “YAHN. What is wrong sister?”

“Oh nothing is wrong I just had somepony to show you.” Celestia replies.

“Who is it?”

“MOMMY!” Nightblade yells and runs and hugs Luna.

“Oh my stars. Son I have missed you soo much. It’s been see long since I have seen your cute smiling face by the stars this is the best day of my life.” Luna says hugging Nightblade tightly. They both cry while in each other’s arms when Nightblade asks. “Mom where is Nightsky is he here? I want to see him.” Luna sighs and says. “No he is not, Celestia says that ever since I was banished and she moved to Canterlot permanently he has been living in our old castle. We felt so depressed after you were gone but he took it really hard and he has been stuck there ever since.”

“Can I go see him?”

“Maybe in due time but the road is dangerous there. The Everfree forest lies in the way and there are monsters in there that could gobble me in one bite. Luna replies. Although disappointed Nightblade nods. While Nightblade is catching up with Celestia and Luna Twilight excuses herself and goes to the Canterlot library. “All right now I need to see if I can find out where Nightblade came from and why he got here.” Twilight says to herself. Twilight searches though a lot of spell books but has no success. “Sigh. I just cannot find anything. Wait hold the hoof.” She says. Twilight goes to the ancient tales sections and starts to look. “Humm, The Tale Of The Lost Prince. This seems promising.” She says as she pulls out the book. Twilight sits down on a table and starts reading.

“Long ago before the tragedy of Nightmare Moon the younger sister had two children the first born was named Nightsky and about seven years later had another whose name has not been revealed and neither has the father’s name. For another seven years the two brothers happily, but on a terrible day King Sombra rose to power in the Crystal empire. After a little while after the two sisters left to the Crystal Empire the younger brother for reasons unknown went after them and accidently got in the way of the elements of harmony and was banished as well as Sombra and was never seen again.” Twilight closed up the book and rented it out. She was not surprised about Nightblade because she has seen a lot in the past. She leaves the library and decides to stay in a hotel for the night.

In the morning Twilight heads back into the castle and heads back into the throne room to see Cadence and Shining Armour talking with Nightblade and the princesses.

“Cadence Shining! I did not expect to see you so soon especially after all that has happened.” Twilight says happily.

“We are here to see if Nightblade is doing ok after what happened.” Cadence says.

“Uh yes hehe that is definitely why I am here as well” Shining replies.

Nightblade hugs Cadence and says thanks to her for helping him in his first couple of moments while Shining goes over to Twilight to talk to her. “Shining is everything alright?” Twilight asks.

“I don’t trust Nightblade, there is something off about him.” Shining replies.

“Shining he was trapped in darkness for one thousand years with Sombra give him a break.”

“But what if he IS Sombra playing a trick on us.”

“Sigh. Sombra is not a changeling.”

“Regardless, we need to keep an eye on him okay?”

“Excuse me miss sparkle?” Nightblade says as he walks over.

“You can just call me Twilight.”

“Okay Twilight, is it true that you and your friends are able to unlock the full power of the elements of harmony?”

“Yes it is true we freed your mother from her jealousy and resentfulness.”

“Wow that is so cool. Would it be okay if I went to Ponyville for a couple of days to meet everypony else? Mom already said it was okay.”

“Of course you can you can meet me at Ponyville station tomorrow morning.”

“Okay, Thanks!”

“See you there.”

Nightblade leaves with Luna and Celestia to find a bed to use while Twilight, Cadence, and Shining are still in the throne room.

“Remember be careful you don’t know what tricks he can pull on you.” Shining Armour says with concern.

“Yes B.B.B.F.F. I will.” With that Twilight leaves to go back to Ponyville.
