Forbidden

I smiled as the royals from around the world shuffled into the meeting room that I had Twilight and Spike prepare for this Council meeting. I greet them all by name, surprisingly, and wait until every creature gets seated. As they all walk in and move about, talking to each of the creatures. I excused myself and headed off to my study to grab my essential items for the Council. When I returned, everyone was sitting in their respective seats, except three seats next to my Equestrian Court seats.

The Aequalitia Court was late. Again.

I sat down and cleared my throat, getting everyone's attention. "The Aequalitia Court is late today." I thought of an excellent way to cover for them. "They were held back by troubles in their land." It wasn't completely a lie; their King informed me that their Kingdom was going through some changes and would inform the court of it. I sigh warmly, and feel a hoof on my shoulder. I look over to Luna, who had a concerned look on her face.

"Celestia, are you alright? You've been...different lately..." She looked at me with those sapphire eyes. Centuries since her return, Luna has finally adapted to the modern language-which the public and I are thankful for.

I smile brightly and nod. "Of course!" I say in a cheery voice. "Just excited, as usual. Since when has the world had this much peace? Not in thousands of years."

Luna chuckled. "It has been a long time since he came to power."

I sigh again, more relaxed. I look up at the ceiling, deep in thought. Has it really been that long? To calculate, ever since I met the new king, it's been 543 years. Wow, it has been that long. I was soon lost in our first meeting, when he proposed the idea of a world council.

Suddenly, the doors opened yet again, and my head jolted in the direction of the doors. Two of my solar guards held the door opened as three ponies came in-the one on the right was the all-familiar Eternity Vision(forever bound to serve the royal court), the one on the right was the adopted daughter of the King, Sirena Echo, and in the middle was the King Glory Star himself; a handsome blue vampony unicorn with purple eyes, and a grey and white mane and tail. My heart began thumping as I admired his body:her wore the usual white robe with the amethyst purple cape. His gold crown still shone as beautiful as my own sun, and his amethys horseshoes made quite noises as he went to his seat and sat down.

"I excuse myself for being late. We ran into some trouble before we left." He smiled. "Has the Council started yet?"

I was still admiring him before I realized everyone was looking at me. "Oh! No, we have not. I was just waiting for every creature to arrive." I stood up. "Welcome to the One-Thousandth and Eighty-Sixth World Council Meeting. It is being held in Equestria this time, and we shall now go over major events in the world in the past six months." I pulled out my journal and began reading the news. "Aequalitia has been at the head of the Industrial Revolution, inventing a weapon that can shoot small metal balls as fast as a cannon. Chiryo has made a breakthrough in medicine, being able to cure many deadly viruses with the despicable Poison Joke. Draclepuff has advance on military preparation, and Equestria has made a peace treaty with the Changeling Empire. All of them."

After closing the notebook, I looked around and said, "We will now share our own information that is evident to the Council, starting with Dracle puff, and ending with Equestria." I sat back down and the dragon queen began her information sharing. I couldn't help but keep making side glances at Glory. He still wore his two earrings-one was a sun and the other a crescent moon, and his fur seemed fluffier than usual-probably because of the winter in Aequalitia. Remembering winter reminded me that one Council over 300 years ago, and before I knew it, I was drifting into memories.

It was after the Council meeting. It was held in Equestria that year again, and I heard Glory was having thoughts about retiring and giving his throne to his vampony daughter, Sirena. After many years of getting to know him, I had developed special feelings for him. I wanted him, no, I needed him. Discord was still a stone statue, and Sombra was evil anyway. I needed a stallion in my life, and Glory was always there for me-even though he lived in the far north part of the world. I had asked him to come into my study, and excused my guards out.

I had casually asked him if there was a special mare in his life. He said, "Yes, I do. She is a lovely mare, and I do wish I could be with her."

"And why can't you?" I asked.

He sighed, and told me,"There is a law in my land saying I must marry a noble or royal, but she must be from my Province. If I break the law....there will be punishment for it."

"And what would you tell this mare if she loved you?" I thought that he had mention a mare I didn't know.

He sighed and looked at me with desperation in his eyes. "I would tell her that I cannot love an empty void."

I had cried myself to sleep that night. Not because I had found out there was another mare in his life, but because I was sad for him. Due to his ancestors' mistakes, he was never allowed to marry nor love a royal from another Province. It made me sad for an entire week, and nopony could find a way to cheer me up.

Until he sent me a present.

Due to my sadness, I hadn't noticed that my birthday had passed; the Twenty-First of the sixth month. Well, not until I opened the present that Luna brought. Luna arrived with a box in tow. It was from Glory, so I opened it up to see what it was. What was inside was beautiful:it was a replica of my necklace, but the gold was made of real sunstone! The amethyst was the beautiful royal purple type, fresh from the ground, and it's shape was the same as my old crown. I excitedly put it on, and Luna commented on how it looked wonderful on me.

She got a similar one six months later for her birthday.

I was drifted back into reality when Glory stood up. He fixed the black fur collar and cleared his throat. "The first item of business we have is the future of Sulvania." He sighed warmly and smiled. "After 543 years of proudly serving the Monarchy of Sulvania, I am stepping down and retiring. My daughter, Sirena Echo, will now lead Sulvania. Her coronation is due next month on the third."

Every creature's jaws dropped in shock. Why now? There were no objections, and then I had one little thought. I can make him mine now! I mentally shook my head and said he's still bound to laws, but now I couldn't take it. Now, I needed him. I needed his warm body against mine, his breath against my body...

What would Equestria think? I thought. Let them be, you're a ruler. Came the other voice, my more...sexual side. He spoke some more saying about the many races that have been discovered and everything that has happened in his rule. When he sat down, finishing his information, I had decided what I would do as I stood up.

I will make Glory Star mine.
