Kingdom Hearts: Young Hearts in Light

I was slowly floating down someplace dark.  I was a little scared of what I was looking at around me.  Just then, I felt my feet touching something hard.  I looked around wondering where I was.  I walked forward one step and suddenly, a bunch of white birds flew up around me.  I was startled at that and watched them fly away.  I then looked down and saw I was standing on a round, colored floor.

“What is this?” I asked.

The floor was a big picture of Nyx with her eyes closed.  Near her head were Mommy, me, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo, Twist, and Spike in small circles.  The rest of Mommy’s friends were on the outer edge.

Just then, a strange voice spoke.

So much to do, so little time...

“Who’s there?!” I asked looking around.

Take your time.  Don’t be afraid.

“Where am I?” I asked, “Why am I here?”  I didn’t hear an answer.  Just then, three stands popped up in a triangle shape around me.  Three objects floated on them.  One was a shield that had Equestria’s symbol on it.  One was a staff that had a crystal shaped like Mommy’s cutie mark at the head.  One was a sword that was about my size and had the other Elements of Harmony in a red circle above the handle.

Power sleeps within you.  If you give it form, it will give you strength.  Choose wisely.

“I have to choose one?” I asked.  I didn’t get an answer again.  I looked at the objects again.  I picked up the shield and looked at it.

The power of the guardian.  Kindness to aid friends.  A shield to repel all.  Is this the power you seek?

“Helping my friends?  Is that what you mean?  I do like helping my friends... so, yes,” I answer.  The shield suddenly disappeared from my hands.  I jump a little as I look back at the other two objects.

Now, what will you give up in exchange?

“Give up?” I ask again confused.  I walk over to the sword and grab the handle.

The power of the warrior.  Invincible courage.  A sword of terrible destruction.  You give up this power?

“Destruction?” I ask a little worried, “I don’t want to destroy anything, so yes.”  Like the shield, the sword disappeared from my hand.  The staff and the stands disappeared too.  I looked around wondering what happened when another bright flash of light appeared in front of me.  I then saw a door standing there.  I walked over to it and touched the handle.

A great danger lies beyond this door.  Make sure you’re ready.

“Danger?” I asked worried again.  I wondered if there was any other way out of this, but I had no choice but to open it.  I turned the handle and pulled the door open.  A bright light was on the other side, so I put my arms in front of my face.  When the light went away, there was a new picture on the floor.  It was of Dinky.  Like Nyx, she had her eyes closed.  I saw Derpy, Sparkler, and me near her head in small circles.

Sometimes you will have to fight.

“Fight?!” I asked suddenly jumping again.  This time in fear.  Just then, a black creature appeared from the floor.  It had yellow eyes, small arms and legs, sharp claws, and two antennae.  More appeared around me.  I was getting scared.  I was wondering where Princess Luna was.  Then I remembered that the voice said I had to fight.  How was I going to fight these things?!

FLASH!!!

Suddenly I felt something appear in my hand.  I looked down and my eyes widened in surprise.  It was some kind of sword shaped a lot like a key.

“Wh... What is this?” I asked confused.  The voice suddenly came back.

Keyblade...

“Keyblade?” I repeated asking while holding up the sword in front of my face.  “Is that what this is called?”  I didn’t get an answer.  Instead, one of the creatures jumped at me.  I yelped in fear and swung the sword at it.  When the sword hit the creature, it turned into dark dust and disappeared.  I looked at the sword and my eyes widened.  “Huh?  Is that how I stop these things?  Hitting them with this... Keyblade?”

I looked back at the creatures and saw them coming at me.  I put my other hand on the Keyblade and started fighting them.  Each one I hit turned into black dust and disappeared.

After all the creatures were turned into black dust, a colored glass pathway appeared.  I walked towards it and began moving up it.  I looked back at the glass floor of Dinky only to see it had disappeared.  I looked back forward and saw another glass floor.  It was of Mommy and her eyes were closed too.  Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy were in circles near her head.  Nyx, Grandpa Night Light, Grandma Velvet, Aunt Cadance, Uncle Shining, Princess Luna, Princess Celestia, and I were in circles in the edges.

There was a light at near Mommy’s head.  I walked towards it curious.

The closer you get to the light, the greater your shadow becomes.

I turned around and saw that my shadow was really big now.  Just then, my shadow lifted up off the ground and turned into a much bigger black creature with yellow eyes.  It had black spiky hair, a heart shaped hole in its chest, and big sharp black claws.

“Uh oh!” I exclaimed turning around and running, but I stopped before I fell off the edge of the glass floor.  The pathway had disappeared.  I was trapped.  I then looked back down at my Keyblade in my hand.  The only thing I could do was fight this thing.

But don’t be afraid.  You hold the mightiest weapon of all.

The giant creature made a fist and tried to hit where I was standing, but I moved out of the way.  A dark pool appeared where its fist hit.  Some of the smaller creatures appeared from the pool, but I got rid of them quickly with my Keyblade.  I then tried hitting the bigger creature’s arm, but my Keyblade just bounced off of it.  The creature then brought its fist back up.

I tried thinking of a way to stop this thing, but then I saw it shooting dark energy balls out of the hole in its chest.  They were coming after me, so I tried moving away from them.  After moving around some more, the dark balls disappeared.  I then saw the small legs the thing had.  I moved over to one and swung at it making the creature lean forward a little.  I moved over to the other leg and swung at that one too, making the creature fall forward.

The creature hit the glass floor making it shake.  I fell down too.  After the ground stopped shaking, I hurried over to the creature’s head.  I had an idea.  If my Keyblade couldn’t hit the creature’s arms and legs, maybe hitting the head would work.  The creature was moving its arms to stand back up, but I made it to the head before it lifted up and swung my Keyblade as hard as I could.  It cut through the creature’s head and the creature collapsed.  It started sinking into the floor turning into black dust.

I looked down, and saw that I was sinking into the black stuff too!  My Keyblade disappeared from my hand, but I wasn’t worried about that.  I tried to pull my legs out, but I was stuck!  I couldn’t get out!

Meanwhile...

*Toby’s P.O.V.*

Where am I?  What is this place?

I don’t know where I am or what’s happening, but I’m standing on a strange circle shaped floor.  It’s a picture too; a picture of Momma.  I also see smaller pictures of Auntie Pinkie, Auntie Rarity, Auntie Rainbow, Auntie Twilight, and Auntie Applejack near Momma’s head.  There are more smaller pictures near the edge and I see one of me near the ones of my aunties, and one of Papa Big Mac on the other side.

“Hello?” I call out, “Is anyone there?”

No one answers me.  I continue looking around wondering what is going on and why I'm here.  Just then, a strange door appears in front of me.  I walk up to it, and try to grab one of the handles, but my hand just passes through.

"Huh?" I ask, "Why can't I grab it?"

Hold on. The door won't open just yet. First, tell me more about yourself.

"Who's there?!" I exclaim looking around.  No one answers me.  I continue looking for whoever said that, but instead, I see my big sisters Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo walking onto the floor I'm on.

"Big sisters?" I ask as they look at me.  They don't answer me.  I walk over to Apple Bloom first.  "Apple Bloom, what's going on?"

"What are you so afraid of?" she asks me.

"Huh?" I say in confusion.  What was that question about?  I think about it for a minute until I finally decide and answer.  "..."  After I answer, Apple Bloom disappears.  "Apple Bloom, where did you go?" I ask confused.  I turn to look at Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo.  I walk over to Sweetie Belle.  "Sweetie Belle, where did Apple Bloom go?"

"What's most important to you?" Sweetie Belle asks.

"What?" I ask even more confused.  Why is Sweetie Belle acting weird?  And why was Apple Bloom acting weird?  I then think about an answer to Sweetie Belle's question.  I look back to her and say, "..."  Sweetie Belle disappeared like Apple Bloom did after I gave my answer.  "Again?"  I look over at Scootaloo and walk to her.  Is she going to ask me a question too?

"What do you want outta life?" Scootaloo asks me.

"Hmmm," I hum thinking about Scootaloo's question.  After thinking about it for a minute, I look back at her and answer the question.  "..."  After I answer, Scootaloo disappears like Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle leaving me alone again.  I look around wondering what is going on.  Just then, a strange voice speaks to me.

You're afraid of...  Your ... are important to you.  You want...  Your adventure begins at dusk.

"Adventure?" I ask, "What adventure?"  The voice doesn't answer me.  I look back to the door and walk back over to it.  When I reach it, I try grabbing the handle again, and I do this time.  I pull on the handle, and a bright light shines through as the door opens.  When the light disappears, I see another picture circle.  It’s of Sister Sunset.  There are smaller pictures of me, Auntie Twilight, and Auntie Celestia near her head.

Power sleeps inside you.

The voice!  It's back!

That power will awaken when you reunite with a distant friend.

"A... distant friend?" I ask, "But who is it?"

Your adventure begins at dusk.  Be prepared.

Over the strange voice, I hear a familiar one calling me.

"To..."

"Tob..."

"Toby?"

It's Momma.  Wait... Am I having a dream?

Don't forget.  You hold the mightiest weapon of all.

I feel myself waking up after those words are said.
