Chapter 4: Big Misunderstanding

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Ryan Pov:

Fucking bitch horses with their fucking weird powers and their fucking guards with their fucking spears.

I woke up in a dungeon. I kid you not. A legit fucking dungeon, complete with shackles around my wrists and ankles, I can still move them around a bit but other than that I'm completely restrained, what's more, I'm stripped down to just my jeans. Now normally I wouldn't be in this position, but this is one of those rare situations I usually get myself into and I end up either having to bullshit my way out of it or just wait until my bros found me.

Downside though was, no one was coming this time. Which meant that I'd have to bullshit my way out of it. Now there's several ways I could go about doing that. I could sing nonstop until the guards outside get too fed up that they'd have to let me out, I could insult their mothers continuously until one of 'em was dumb enough to come in and shut me up, where I would move to grab him and take his spear.

Ugh, not that many options actually. This is the first time I've been locked up in a dungeon, and I've been locked up in a lot of places. Like one time, I got locked in the basement of my sisters house because I got screwed over by a fucking clown, and I hate getting screwed over by a fucking clown!

The fact of the matter is this. That Princess Night Bitch or whatever her name is did some weird shit with her horn and it knocked me out cold. Keep in mind, she shot me from behind before that, and I was still recovering from the plane crash, and I had a brutal fight with her guards so, I ain't exactly surprised that I eventually expired. I'm only human after all.

Ok. Maaaybe I acted a little too fast, but come on, the guards were pointing spears at me, they were DEMANDING that I surrender, that Princess Night Bitch or whatever her name is DEMANDED that I BOW her, BOW!

So I can honestly say that I'm pretty justified here in my actions, though I admit I may have went a little overboard.

Ok then. When Princess Night Bitch or whatever her name is returns, I'll TRY and be a little nicer. Hopefully it'll get me out of here and I can get back to finding Tyler and snuffing him out.

I sigh. I lose everything, Tyler got away from me, my body is still hurtin' from the plane crash, my legs are still bleeding from those spear shots, I'm starting to get cold and I don't know where the fuck I am.

...

...

...I reach into the pocket of my jeans and thankfully find my iPod still there. Taking the earplugs, I place them in my ears and turn on an appropriate song to lighten the mood.

Celestia Pov:

Luna returned a few hours after I arrived in Canterlot with one of the other humans. When she told me of how he brought down a whole team of some of our best guards, I was in shock. I had to restrain my anger when Luna told me of how he struck her, and...spat in her face.

She assured me that she would deal with this one herself, but I insisted I be allowed to speak with him also. While I was angry at how he treated my sister, I also knew that he and the others all arrived here by accident and they were just confused and most likely frightened.

Well, he was frightened, the others were simply confused.

Putting the two we have right now in the dungeon won't help the situation, but at least they won't be able to go anywhere for now. While Twilight and her friends look for the last one, I will speak to the other two individually and, if they prove to have no malicious intent nor desire to bring harm to my subjects, I will allow them to go where they please, though they will have to be placed under watch to ensure they don't cause trouble for anypony.

"I swear it sister! That creature will pay the ultimate price for disrespecting me like that!" I hear Luna shout.

I smile and return to my quarters, letting Luna take things from here. When I enter, I walk over to the bed and my smile widens when I see the young one sleeping peacefully with a bandage wrapped around the top of his head. I make my way over to his side and lean down to give him a gentle kiss on the forehead.

"Sleep well, you're safe now." I whisper to him before turning to leave. It was time to see those other humans.

Joseph Pov:

I don't know how long I've been lying in this dungeon. Could've been hours or so, I'm not really sure since the last thing I remember was that cyan horse with wings flying into me. And I was pretty sure it was on purpose too.

Great. In the short time I've been here, wherever here is, I've already earned the hatred of the locals and I haven't even done anything yet. Though the blame for that fully lies with Ryan and Tyler.

Seriously, I will be really pissed off if I have get held responsible for one of their stupid mistakes. I may have been fine with it back in high school, but not now.

Right now, I need to assess the situation and try and come up with a solution to sort all of this out. Right now, I'm assuming the locals, which have to be the colourful horses, think we're a bunch of wild animals that need to be stopped and locked up. Now getting locked up in a dungeon is overkill to be honest, especially when we haven't even done anything.

Then again, when I think about it, we DID emerge from the plane and given the crash and possibly damage it did, I suppose it only makes sense now why I'm locked up. They probably think I was responsible and did it on purpose. I sure hope to god right now that whoever is in charge hears me out because this is all clearly a big misunderstanding.

Hopefully once I persuade them to let me out, I'll have to go and find Ryan and Tyler. God knows what those two are doing right now. Tyler is probably trying to come up with another one of his brilliant schemes. And Ryan...I'm not even gonna go there right now.

True they had a knack for always getting into trouble, but I still worried about them, I still gave a damn. Even after Tyler stabbed us in the back, I was more reluctant to go after him than Ryan, who didn't hesitate to use all of his money to buy a shit load of weapons just to storm the damn airport and kill him.

There's some serious bad blood between Ryan and Tyler, and it's gonna take a LOT of effort to persuade those two to try and not kill each other while we're here.

My thoughts are interrupted by muffled voices and footsteps, which begin to get louder as they approach my cell.

I look up at the cell door and see a tall white horse with a horn and wings, I can make out some of the accessories its wearing but it's too dark to fully see them.

"Guards, leave us." It said. She said.

"But Princess-" One of the guards protested but was silenced by a raised hoof.

"I will be fine, I am merely going to speak with it. If I need you, I will call for you." She replied.

"Yes your highness." The guards bowed and left us alone.

The tall white horse looked at me with an unreadable expression before entering the cell, just stopping a few steps away from me. "I assume you can understand me human?"

Well, if this one is the Princess as I just heard then she must be in charge. Good, the sooner I can persuade her to let me go, the sooner I can track the guys down. "Yes...I can." I reply.

She nodded in response. "Good. The crash from your transport caused quite a panic and due to, some certain events, we were unable to give proper introductions." She raised her head slightly before placing a hoof on her chest. "My name is Princess Celestia, Co-Ruler of Equestia and the Princess of the Sun."

She seems friendly enough. "My name is Joseph Anderson. But you can just call me Joseph your highness." I bow my head, I don't want her to think I'm disrespectful or anything, especially when I've just been given a chance at starting over with them.

Her eyes widen slightly, probably surprised at my show of respect. "Oh, there's no need for that, you are a foreigner here so you needn't bow to me my friend."

I couldn't help but smile at her friendly tone. "Yeah, perhaps, but there's nothing wrong with showing a little respect your highness. I don't like to leave bad impressions on others."

Celestia smiled in return. "A noble one I see..." She closed her eyes and sighed happily as she whispered something too quiet for me to hear.

"Um, are you okay your highness?" I ask.

Breaking out of her state, she turned back towards me and said, "Apologies, I was lost in thought." She cleared her throat before adding, "Now, as I'm sure you may be aware, my Ponies are a bit worried right now that-"

"Wait. Ponies? I thought you were horses." I interrupt.

She giggles, which, honestly, was really cute. "Oh dear no. We are Ponies, not horses, and we are the ones who inhabit this Kingdom. In case you're confused, there are three different races of Ponies, Unicorns, Pegasi and Earth Ponies."

I process that as I think back to the horses...Ponies, that I saw earlier. I know what a Unicorn looks like, I ain't stupid. And the Pegasi are the ones with wings, which means that the Earth Ponies were the ones that had neither. Wait.

"Hold on..." I reply as I eye her up and down. "Unicorns are the Ponies with horns, Pegasi are the Ponies with wings and Earth Ponies have neither. You have both, so, what does that make you?" I ask.

Celestia continued to smile at me, which honestly made me want to smile in return. "I am an Alicorn. There are only a few of us and I am one of them, my sister, my niece and my student also among them. In fact, I believe you met my student earlier didn't you?"

She's right. I do recall that lavender Pony with the horn and wings. "Yeah, yeah I remember."

Celestia nodded before returning to the previous topic. "Now, back on topic, my Ponies are a little worried right now about the recent events that have transpired. Mainly the crash of your transport and the appearance of you and the other humans. I would like to first ask, do you mean to bring any harm to my Ponies while you are here?"

I shake my head. "No. Your Ponies are honestly too adorable, I think I'm the one who should worry if their cuteness will harm me in some way." I chuckle.

This earned a light giggle from the Princess. Well, at least we seem to be off to a good start.

"Thank you for that." She replies before sitting down in front of me. "Now, I must ask you, how did you end up here in Equestria in the first place?"

I shrug. "I'm sorry your highness, I really don't have an answer to that." I pull on the shackles and try to get into a more comfortable position as I sit up.

"Oh dear, I do apologise for that." She says as her horn lights up and the shackles snap open with ease. "Please forgive the guards, they take their duties seriously but sometimes they tend to take them a little too seriously."

I rub my wrists and ankles and shrug in response. "It's fine, they're just doing their job."

She looked at me in silence for a long moment, I remained where I was, waiting for her to speak up and ask me more questions but none came.

"Um, sorry if I sound rude here but why are you staring at me?" I ask with a raised brow.

Her blank expression breaks into a smile and she lets out a relieved sigh. "I was merely testing you. I removed your shackles and waited to see if you would attempt to run away, but you made no such move whatsoever. Only somepony with true malicious intent would have done so and yet you continue to sit here before me."

I scratch the back of my head as I take in her words. "Well, I really just want a chance to try and clear things up so we're all on the same page. The crash and everything, it's all just a big misunderstanding your highness."

"Of course." She replied with a warm smile. "Your transport emerged from the storm earlier this morning and it took many Pegasi and Unicorns to land it safely away from Ponyville. I would like to hear your side of the story sir Joseph as to how this happened."

Well, this is the chance I was asking for, better not waste it.

"Ok. Well, you see, it started when I found out my friend was planning on killing the one who betrayed us..."
