Holding on to the Stars
Chapter 5: Interesting Experience
Previous ChapterNext ChapterTyler Pov:
After I explained my accidental situation with these...Ponies...the one called Twilight Sparkle offered to take me to her castle in a town called Ponyville.
I wanted to laugh so badly. But I was half in a bad mood, so I was able to restrain it.
She said she wanted to keep me there so I wouldn't cause a panic, I assume these Ponies are easy to scare, given how the yellow one continues to try and avoid eye contact with me.
Twilight did say that she wanted me to stay in the castle until she got in contact with this Princess Celestia, mentioning that she would want to see me so she could decide whether or not I'm safe to be around.
Let me just say this right now. I'm not safe to be around. If these Ponies even so much as give me a reason to, I will kick their asses. But let's hope it doesn't come to that. I'd rather get through all of this without any more trouble. As long as they're smart enough to stay on my good side, everything will be fine.
Though I very much doubt it. The one called Rainbow Dash has been glaring at me since we started walking.
Bring it on bitch.
"So, um, Mr Wilson, if you don't mind me asking..." The Unicorn called Rarity said as she eyed me up and down. "You wouldn't happen to have more of that fancy clothing would you?"
She was talking about my suit? Yeah, I just remembered parts of it are ripped and torn, thanks to that psycho. "I DID have more with me, until I lost them in the crash. Though I'm pretty sure most of the suitcases stored inside the plane are still intact and if I'm lucky then mine will be one of them. I really hope so, because I also had a few books that I really liked."
Twilights ears perked up at the mention of books. "Books?! That's great! You wouldn't mind lending some to me would you?"
I raise a brow at her. "Depends."
"Depends on...?" She replied giving me a curious look.
I sigh and add, "Depends on whether I'll still be around or not."
The orange Pony called Applejack looked up at me with a slight frown. "Whaddya mean by that?"
"Given that I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the whole other world thing after what you all told me, it depends if I'm willing to stick around long enough." I reply. "Though given that I have no way of getting back right now means I'm stuck here until I find one. And even then, that's probably gonna be a while."
Applejack narrowed her eyes at me slightly. "An' why would ya wanna leave so soon?"
I rolled my eyes and said, "I don't wanna offend you or anything but...this place is too happy for my taste."
I can tell the six of them were giving me mixed looks after I said that. I stop walking after we enter what I assume is Ponyville and look around. There were Ponies. Ponies everywhere. Some were tending to flowers and the Pegasi were flying about in the sky moving clouds, which I still find unbelievable, and Unicorns were all walking about carrying things with their...magic. I still can't believe this is happening.
Just as I turn to look at them, I now notice one of them is missing. "Where did your pink friend go?"
"Pinkie Pie?" Twilight replied as she looked back at me. "Knowing her, she probably went off to gather things for another party. For you I imagine. She throws welcome parties for every new Pony that comes into Ponyville."
"Except, I'm not a Pony." I respond.
Applejack smirked. "Doesn't matter if yer a Pony or not. If it's yer first time in Ponyville, expect Pinkie Pie to throw ya a welcome party."
I sigh. "While I appreciate that, it's really not necessary. I have important things I really need to take care of, I don't have time for things like that."
Rainbow Dash hovered beside me as she glared rather hatefully at me. "And what would those important things be huh? What could be more important than showing up at one of Pinkie Pie's welcome parties?"
I just give her a blank look. "That's personal."
She hardens her glare at me. "Oh yeah well-"
"It's okay Rainbow." Twilight interrupts. "If he doesn't want to tell us, we won't push him into it. He'll tell us whatever he wants when he's ready." She then looks up at me with a slight smile. "Right?"
Dammit. Why do they have to be so...so...adorable!
Letting out a quiet sigh, I simply reply with, "...Sure."
"Good enough for me! Now let's hurry up to the castle! I'm sure there are some things about your world you can tell me right?" She says as she starts walking towards the large crystalized castle just ahead of the town with me and the others just behind her.
"I ain't much of a historical person but there are some things I could tell you I suppose." I reply as I increase my pace slightly to keep up with them.
Now that I think about it, what could I tell them? The place seems too peaceful, I'm not sure how they would take to hearing about all the wars and terrorism, they'd probably have a heart attack if I mentioned that. Then again...they'd probably just be paralysed with shock. I'm gonna call it right now and bet it's the latter. Don't wanna tell them too much though, they may be cute and all, but there's no telling what they would do with this kind of information. But then, it was never really my concern on what others do, as long as it doesn't involve me.
"Hey ya doin' okay?" Applejack's voice interrupts my thoughts.
I look down at her and notice her slightly concerned expression. I brush her off and increase my pace as I reply, "I'm fine."
As I walk on ahead of them to keep up with Twilight, I hear Rainbow Dash whisper to Applejack, "I don't like him one bit."
"Relax sugarcube, he's probably just stressed out right now from bein' away from home. Though that doesn't mean we shouldn't keep an' eye on him."
I smirk. This is gonna be quite the interesting experience.
Joseph Pov:
After I finished explaining to Celestia what happened before the crash and how it was caused, she was quite shocked and, for some reason looked a little sad. Probably because of how I mentioned the pilots deaths. Which reminds me, I'll have to ask for them to be buried.
Celestia sighs and stands up. "That's quite a tragic story, I'm sorry for your losses."
"Don't be." I reply. "You had nothing to do with it at all. If anything, I'm the one who should be sorry for not being able to prevent it."
This got a little smile out of her.
"That said.." I continue. "Would it be okay if I could bury the pilots? They at least deserve a proper burial."
Celestia nodded. "Of course. I believe what you say and you have proven your honesty. I will see to it that you are released immediately and are given the freedom to roam about the castle. Please understand though that you will need to remain in the castle for now until I can sort this situation out. The crash has caused quite the panic among my subjects, especially the nobles here in Canterlot and I don't think it would help if you are seen suddenly walking about. I hope that sounds reasonable."
I nod. "Completely understandable your highness." Well, that actually went better than I expected. "Excuse me Princess, but you wouldn't happen to know where my friends are would you? Or the boy I left back on the plane?"
Celestia looked back at me and nodded. "I brought the boy back here and made sure his injuries were tended to, he's safe and currently resting."
I let out a relieved sigh.
"As for your...friends..." She hesitated. "My sister actually managed to catch one of them, though from what she told me, he was quite...aggressive and he disrespected her greatly. She said he struck her, and even...spat in her face."
I groan. "Ugh...that can only be Ryan." I look back up at her and add, "Listen your highness, I'm really, really sorry about him. Please forgive him, he's like that all the time, he's been through a lot and-" I stop when she raises one of her hoofs.
"I completely understand what you are trying to say Joseph. Rest assured, the situation you and your friends are in has left the three of you simply confused and you were all unsure how to react." She says calmly. "I will let your friend go as well after I see him for myself. If he is aggressive as I've heard he is, could I ask that you try and keep him under control?"
"Of course." I quickly reply. "While he may not be friends with Tyler anymore, he still listens to me enough so I should be able to keep him from...doing anything crazy."
Celestia smiles. "That's all I ask of you Joseph, thank you."
Speaking of Tyler, she didn't actually mention anything about him. "Um, what about my other friend?"
"Your other friend is still out there. I sent my former student and her friends to find him and inform me when they do. Trust me, they will find him." She says with a warm smile.
Well, she seems to have everything under control. "So umm...where is Ryan exactly?"
Her smile disappears as soon as I ask that. "My sister had him placed in the deepest part of the dungeon, it doesn't surprise me given what he did to her."
"Again, I'm really sorry about that your highness. Don't hold it against him, he's just...well...he's..." Dammit Ryan, what am I supposed to say here?!
Celestia smiles at me again. "You've apologised enough." She looks over her shoulder. "Guards!"
Within seconds, several of her armored Ponies showed up right outside the cell. "Take sir Joseph and escort him to one of the guest rooms, see to it that he is guarded and make sure nopony sees him."
The guards exchange confused looks. "Immediately." Celestia adds.
"R-Right away your highness!" The guards open the cell and stand aside as Celestia exits.
She turns back to look at me with that smile of hers. "Well? Are you coming?"
I shrug and get to my feet before walking out of the cell. The guards are watching me very carefully, probably worried I'm gonna do something.
"Escort him to one of the guest rooms, I will be going to speak with the other one." Celestia says before she turns to leave.
I turn and stop her before she can walk away. "Uh Princess...I don't know if that's such a good idea. Perhaps it would be best if I spoke with him. I mean, I don't want you to get offended or anything in case he says something that might-" Again, she stops me with a raised hoof.
"Don't worry, I've spoken with many individuals in my life and this one won't be any different from others I've conversed with. Fear not Joseph, I can handle whatever your friend will throw at me."
As she disappears into the shadows up ahead, I look back at the guards and can't help but recoil slightly at some of their hateful glares. It isn't making it any easier knowing their holding a couple of spears in their hoofs. "Lead the way." I say.
They circle around me and begin leading me out of the dungeon, my thoughts going back to what Celestia said before she left.
"...I can handle whatever your friend will throw at me."
...No Celestia...I don't think you can.
Author's Note
Would've had this one finished sooner had other things not taken away my time. Anyway, Celestia meets Ryan next chapter and has a rather, interesting conversation with him, or not.
