Luna feels left out and unhappy that her sister Celestia has everyone loving her while she feels left out. This takes place before and after nightmare moons redemption by twilight and her friends. Luna finds herself wandering at night along a moonlit pool where she encounters a young alicorn stallion whose mane glitters like the stars and has a golden black coat. They start to meet each other each night after Luna raises the moon at the star moon pool.
