A star in the never ending darkness

Back then there is not much i can remember, from as long as I've lived i have been hated by everyone i had ever held dear, there was something wrong with me. I have tried to be kind and support other's but every time i try to be nice, the worse everything seems to get.

There was a myth about their being a beast of some sort, a demon who would threaten all of equestria but i knew that it was not me and that i would never do such a thing, there is only one problem and that is that everyone else seems to agree with the fact that i am the monster and need to be stopped.

My idea's of being a beast had changed over the years but it seemed more and more likely that that monster was me, accepting my fate here in a prison cell and being hated by everyone taught me that there was a chance a long time ago.

Since i was young i was being cared for by the one and only princess Celestia, she cared for me alongside another another student that she could not stop talking about. She taught me to read and write and how important it is to love and care for others, it was working till I snapped. There had always been serious cases of head aches which i got when i tried to perform a too powerful spell or was alone for long periods of time but i never thought it would do what it did.

I had attacked the princess, i was not myself and eyes which were red as blood. There was a dark and evil aura surrounding me which reminded me of Nightmare Moon plus flames of black and red caused by an overflow of power.

Ever since the incident I had been locked in the canterlot dungeon and had not seen the sun of which my teacher rises for about a year of two so it came much to my surprise when the door opened and in walked one of the royal guards.

"Princess Celestia wants to see you, there is no further information so please follow me."

"Ok thank you ve-"

"There is no need to thank me for I have done nothing to help you, now hurry up and go."

I had got the same look their that I always do, hatred for every bit of me, my existence in general looked down upon. There is nothing I can do to get into society back so why was princess Celestia wasting her time with me?

As i entered the throne room i had noticed it was empty, I turned around to leave but the door had shut behind me.

"was this their idea of a trick?" I said to myself as i slowly went towards the throne.

As i walked towards the throne princess Celestia came from behind the throne, Her amazing mane shimmering in the rays of the sun that i had missed so much swayed as she walked towards me.

"Cinos, do you remember me?" she said in her sickeningly sweet voice that was used to torture me in my nightmares.

"Yeah i remember you, the one who decided to lock me away from all this time" I said thinking of placing my blame on her but finding it ripping against my heart.

"You do know why i had to do that, right Cinos?"

"Im a demon, i do not know my own power and because of one outburst i had to stay five years in jail."

Celestia then went over to me and wrapped her front legs around me and whispered in my ear "Im so sorry, please forgive me, i have regretted putting you in there for your outburst, i know it was not your fault but it was going against justice if I were to think any other way!"

I pushed Celestia away which made her very surprised as she must have expected me to behave in a positive way after not seeing her in so long and being shown friendship.

"No one loves me, all i know is hate and i will send you all to hell" I shouted looking up at her and used my power to turn on my weak dark aura, I had been quite tired and weak so i was not able to produce anything near a strong aura.

Celestia was very taken aback at what i had just did, she then retaliated by producing her own aura which was much more powerful than mine, it was like a flare of green and white light had just went off in front of him.

I fell to the ground to be picked up again by princess Celestia who then went and put me on her back.

"I will teach you personally how to control your power for good and not for evil, you will be sharing lesson's every Tuesday, for now i will take you to me student, Twilight Sparkle who will teach you about the power of friendship and magic which can help others"

I remembered that name, she was always talking about that specific pony and now she wanted me, the person who was hated by everyone was not only being shown kindness from the princess but she had degraded her student to the works of helping me? I could not see how this was possible but i was happy at the luckiness of me meeting such a person which caused me to show a slight smile which i could not hold back.

It was a long way to get to Twilight's house, long enough for me to fall asleep on the princess's back which felt like resting on clouds. I had my first good dream in two years.

I awoke on a bed in a tree-like house which looked a bit like a library, quite a big library at that.

I turned to my side and saw a pony of a dark purple in the bed next to me, she to opened her eye's and saw me.

I fell backwards out of bed and hit my head, i could see her coming over to see me, then she said "hello my name is Twilight sparkle, how are you?"

"Im fine thanks" I said, I was not sure why i was lying in the bed next to her but i had a idea why, she was told to keep an eye on me.

"What do you want from me" I added violently as i saw she was opening her mouth to speak.

"I have been asked by Princess Celestia to look after you and try to control your... abilities." Twilight said while putting out her hoof to help me up.

"Why you, what can you do which others cannot?" I said while hitting away the hoof and standing up by using the table next to me.

"I do not like to brag but i am quite good at magic, can you please show me this ability i have been hearing about?" Twilight took out a scroll which i could see had 'Things to do' written on the top.

"My pleasure." I said with a smile.

I closed my eyes and attempted to bring back the thoughts of the bad thing that have transpired in my life, it was not too hard to remember some of the small things like getting bullied and my parents death which were some of the only memory's that i could remember at the time.

Soon after i opened my eye's to show that my blue ones had made them self's into a lizard style eye which were like small slits which reminded me of the dragons i saw in my books, the color was also blood red just like the last time this happened. My mouth has turned stitched which caused the skin around it to become pulled and red, black flames surrounded my body like the infinite night up above.

I walked slowly forward with flames spitting out of my mane and burning the floor below me. My body has turned light black which made the flames look like an extension to this dark form of mine.

I saw that twilight looked worried and was trying to back away out of the room, this might be my only chance.

"I will burn you and the world around us" I said in a bold tone as i walked towards her, i could see all the dark and bad memory's that i could remember passing in front of my eyes which caused much pain and suffering not to me but to my heart which i was right now locked away in the bottom of my conscious.

Suddenly black chains came from the ground and entangled me, Twilight's horn was glowing like crazy and letting out sparks, I knew that if I wanted to get her I would have to rip myself apart and damage my heart even more than i had, I made the decision to save my sanity for now so I just fell limp on the floor and did not move till the power went away.

"That's quite some ability you have there" said twilight panting "you really need to calm down when you do that, try to get it under control."

"Who said i wanted to get it under control."

Twilight looked quite taken back by this comment and said "Do you not like to make friends or do you just really hate everyone you have just met?"

"I vairy's from who that person is and how they treat me."

"Im being kind and im not a bad person, i have tried to be quite good to you so far!"

"Yeah you are quite cute and i guess i could try to be a bit more kind, sorry" I said knowing that we would not get anywhere if i hated her so pretending to like her is the next better idea.

"Well that is very kind of you, we should go to sleep for now, you need to go to your training with Celestia tomorrow, you may have had a rest here but it is still about to turn night time"

I could see that she blushed but did not care, after what i had been through i would never make friends with anyone who is a friend of the princess.

Before i walked away she said "I know you where not able to perform to the best of your ability there, that is why i had to go and try a ancient spell taught to me by the princess if you went out of control, i was only able to turn it to it's first form of sealing so i cannot teach you for now, please try to keep in a good state of mind."

My heart worked before my mind and i was amazed to hear myself say "Thanks, you have a good night and i hope to see some of your friends, maybe play around a little later!" Which caused my head to nearly split in two but came back to normal in a few seconds.

I was not the only one surprised to hear that as twilight span around to see if i was still the same person, she walked away slowly but she seemed a bit kinder than the others. Someone who respected me and i liked that very much.

I went up to bed and thought to myself what that outburst i had down there was and what caused me to have such a thing, then an image crossed my mind. Was there really a light in my dark heart, was there really a star out there for me in this never ending darkness?

I awoke from the dream which i so much longed to keep onto back into reality, I could see the pile of sleeping drugs next to my bed and the dust and rusted pipes of the world outside through my window across the room. I got out of bed stumping a little to get some food from the fridge which only contained a few bits of expired milk and rotten meat so supply me for the next few days.

I looked over at the pile of pills laying next to my bed and wondered how my life had gone so wrong when it started out so well. After breakfast or lunch, I was not sure of the time, I went back to the bed and cried over the memory's of my life so far.

There was this dream which I was getting recently which seemed to put myself in a better life where I was more powerful and seemed to be getting friends ever so slowly, I was able to remember the memory's now but when I fall asleep they seem to drift away until I come out of my slumber.

After falling off the bed into a puddle of water that was dripping from the pipes over the broken roof of my home I moved a shaking hoof over to the pills next to my bed and after feeling the wind blow through the dirty mane I curled up into a ball and slowly put the pill in my mouth feeling it travel down into my stomach and start to take me away.

I was not yet ready for the outside world.

Well there we go guys, that was the first chapter of my new series which was not too long so i can get feedback on what you guys think should happen and what you think about it so far,i hope you like this one and please tell me where there are some mistakes so i can fix them, thank you again and i hope you enjoyed ^_^
