All Is Calm
The Universe is complicated. It can be described as an vast and open, never ending realm where every living organism in existence, has been cradled. But I see it as a cosmic sandbox were forces invisible to the naked eye, control our everyday life. Filled with trillions of stars and galaxies, we may never fully comprehend its majesty. But for a being of my seemingly infinite knowledge, Not even i fully know what lies out there. I can only dream that some day my beloved race would someday find mirroring life among the stars. But we all know the old saying, "Be careful of what you wish for"
The morning came with out a hint of distress. the towns folk strolled the streets of Ponyville happily, and the market filled with the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Fillies and colts played on the side of the road as cabs (carts) filled with goods from all over, pass by. As Usual, Sugar cube corner was filled with the orthodox morning crowd . Here we see many mares and stallions, enjoying their meals and having friendly conversa-
"Hi There!!!" A pink energetic pony waved at you, seemingly breaking the fourth wall.
"Pinkiepie...? "A cyan colored Pegasus said from the next table over "who are you talking too?" Rainbow Dash asked with a look of concern on her face.
"I'm talking to the Bronies!" Pinkiepie answered joyfully. The Pegasus shrugged. "just crazy pinkiepie talk as usual..."
As the morning passed the towns streets settled. Most of the morning rush had ended so the streets were less packed and and more accessible. The unusually placed tree that sat in the middle of a street circle surrounded by buildings, was the towns library. The inhabitants were none other than Twilight Sparkle and her dragon assistant Spike. The library was occupied by a handful ponies, mostly older colts and fillies studying for the Equestrian Standardized Tests or EST's for short. but other than that, the day had been rather slow. Twilight was over by the study area, helping a light brown pony look for a book stating a Theory of the space-time continuum. Twilight turned and called for her assistant.
"Spike, can you go to the philosophical science section and find a book called " Theory of Time" by Morgan hoofman?" Twilight asked her dragon assistant. "Sure thing Twilight." The purple Dragon answered with a smile.
As asked, Spike Returned with the book on his back. Due to the book being larger than his body, Spike was struggling just to stand up. Twilight's horn glowed as she used her magic to lift the book off of Spike's back.
"Thanks spike" Twilight said as she handed the quite pleased Doctor his book. "Phew.... No... Problem... Twilight," Spike said as he tried to catch his breath.
As the day turned into night the clientele of the library decreased until it was just Twilight and spike. Twilight was laying on lounge couch in the now abandoned study area, Happily reading a book, While spike was writing about rarity in his diary. DING DONG! The grandfather clock in the middle of the lobby rang indicating nine-o-clock. Twilight let out a long yawn, and spike followed.
Twilight looked at the clock. "Wow, is it that late already?"
She looked over at spike who had already started doze off, It being past his bed time. Twilight placed the bookmark in her book and got up from the couch.
"Common Spike time for bed." She look again at spike to see he had fallen asleep in the time span of three seconds, that had to be a world record.
she giggled at how cute he looked when he fell asleep like that and used her magic to lift him on to his back. As she trotted up stairs she giggled some more as spike moaned in his sleep.
"Rarity....." Spike said in his sleep. "Heh... that's my spike," Twilight responded.
As Twilight entered her room she gently placed Spike in his basket and tucked him in, planting a small motherly kiss on his forehead.
"Good night Spike," a smile spread across spikes tiny face.
Twilight smiled and climbed into her own bed and blew out the candle lighting the room. Nothing but complete silence followed, not a sound other that the gentle breeze from the outside. Little did they know, that there beautiful planet was being scrutinized buy creatures with envious eyes, eons more advanced than the inferior pony race. in the next few days Equestria would become a major turning point in a centuries long war.
The sun shined down on the massive city of New Avalon. New Avalon was colonized by human settlers in early 2317, the federation then grew from there. It was once known as the most powerful empire in the galaxy, but those were more prosperous times. War had dawned upon them at the turn of the new millennium as the Draconis Combine destroyed colony after colony. since then the Federation has been losing ground fast, just recently a major mining colony on Yearta-965 was destroyed by the Combine. the loss of Yearta had stunted the Federation industries and weapon output. When all hope seemed lost and the government was about to submit terms of an surrender agreement, a light had unveiled it self in the darkness. This light was E-036a a small planet in the middle of E-036 system. What made E-036a unique is that its star orbits the planet. This causes the perfect conditions for mineral growth of Tungsten carbide and Uranium. And thus the Federation sent 45 drops-ships, caring tones of heavy equipment and materials in hopes of achieving a strategic foot hold on the planet.
It was midnight when the first ship arrived. The massive blast from its engines cast an glow over the everfree Forrest. As the ship neared the ground it deployed its landing gear. The massive landing gear of the ship crushed all that was unlucky enough to be caught in its path, as the ship landed. The surrounding trees caught fire as the flames from the decent engines flooded out of the engine nozzles, creating a massive smoke tower that could be seen from miles. as the ship touched down, a Chimera that was frightened by the blast of the ships engines, pounced out a nearby bush. A small laser turret on the side of the ship took notice, but dose not react. The Chimera stared menacingly at the ships front landing gear. Frightened by the size and sounds of the ship, the Chimera jumped at the massive landing gear, with its fangs and claws prepped to tare into this strange creatures metallic skin. The laser turret immediately aimed its barrel at the Chimera and fired, as a red flash of plasma sliced through the Chimeras body. The Chimera roared in pain as its intestines where fried by the plasma bolt. The creature landed on the ground with a thud, with a large hole going clean through its lower torso. The laser turret remained aimed at the now dead Chimera, waiting for any further response of aggression. Once it was sure that the poor creature was dead it swiveled back into its idle position.

The Coming Fire Storm
That morning came with the smell of burning wood, Pine tree to be exact. The skies above Ponyville where crimson red with the smoke of the forest fire blocking the sun. it wasn't until around nine, when flocks of birds fell from the sky due to smoke inhalation. There small bodies, smashing through windows and buildings. It was then a large goose shot through Twilight's bedroom window, its body covered in cuts from the glass spewing its blood all over the floor.
"DEAR CELESTA!" Twilight shouted with fear as the bird landed next to her bed.
"Spike, Wake up! Help me take this bird to the bathroom!" Spike woke up in shock to Twilight's screaming. "Wha!... What happened Twil-"
His eyes grew wide as he took noticed of the injured creature in front of him. "Oh, My goodness!!!"
Twilight used her magic to carefully pick up the goose and move it over to her bathroom sink, The goose shaking in fear as shards of glass were able to fall of of it. Spike cleared all of the brushes and bottles off the counter, not caring that they landed all over the floor. Twilight placed the goose on the counter and began using her magic to remove large shards from the poor creatures body. Blood dripped over the edges of the counter and onto the floor, the goose gave one more blood curtailing whale before it slumped dead onto the counter, Twilight could only watch in horror as all life left the goose's eyes. Spike had thrown up last nights dinner all over the blood covered floor as Twilight just stood there in shock staring at the dead goose on here counter.
Mean while...
The fire and smoke that had surrounded the ship had only grew larger by the minute. the lifeless corpse of the Chimera laid there being burnt to a black crisp. Inside the ship, a group of humans stood in the hangar area suiting up for a scout run. around them were various Mechs, ranging from size and class. A blond haired man clad in standard pilots armor with Dog tags that read "Clark mason" , stood in-front of the group informing them of there mission.
"Listen up, Sigma lance." He said, the group giving him full attention. "Luckily the landing last night was successful, but Intel is not positive if the others made it. We have been given orders to scout the area for the other ships,"
He looked down at his clipboard, noting the mission objectives.
"The lance will compose of 5 scout class mechs, 3 of which are to go separate directions. The other two are to move towards the south were we believe there might be a Combine Outpost,"
He flipped to the next page on the clipboard.
" Note, if there is an outpost, We are not to engage. We are to wait for heaver equipment and mechs too arrive to the position," He turned a the clipboard around at the group revealing a satellite image of the area. He pointed at the forest were the drop ship resided.
"Razor your with me, you and i will go and look for that out post." A bald man sitting on a near by crate nodded. "Razor will bring many pain to those Combine bastards, Yes?" Razor said, with enthusiasm
"Careful Razor, this is a stealth mission, Not a shooting gallery,"
Clark, moved is finger to a set of mountains up north. "Angel, I want you to go scout these mountains, Oh and please do be careful. one wrong step in a 35 tonne Raven could cause a major avalanche," A brown haired woman nodded, putting her helmet on. "you got it Ace"
He looked over at the remaining two, Doug and Eddie. Doug was a black man with a bulky build, while Eddie was the complete opposite.
" Doug and Eddie, I want you two to split up and cover the areas to the east and west." The two nodded and they headed to there mechs.
"Oh! and one more thing people, the locals around here seem to be aggressive, don't be afraid to use minimum deadly force" Razor looked back at Clark and smirked, "You know what i mean by MINIMUM, Razor. The last thing we need is some more blood splattering on your mech!" Clark shouted at Razor.
Back In Ponyville...
The Ponies of the town gathered in a panicked state in front of the Town Hall. The mayor was scheduled to make an statement on the situation. Twilight desperately galloped through the crowd of Ponies with spike desperately trying to hang on, looking for Rainbowdash and Fluttershy. She had succeeded in finding Rarity, Applejack and PinkiePie, Who were also following her.
"Oh dear, has any one seen Rainbow, or Fluttershy?" Twilight asked with concern. "Ah 'avent seen heads, nor tails of Rainbow Twi!" Apple jack answered as she dodged a stallion that was running the opposite direction.
"I Do hope, Rainbow Dash made it out of Clouds dale intact, I just could not bare to imagine what may have happened to her," Rarity, Said with distress.
"If there's any pony we should be a worryin' about, Its Fluttershy! By the looks of it, them flames aren't too far from Fluttershy's Home!" AppleJack pointed towards the direction of Fluttershy's cottage, were a large tower of smoke had aided in blocking out the morning sun.

What Is That Thing?
The crackling of fire was the only sound that filled the air. small animals, scurried along the ground desperately trying to prolong there inevitable death by fire. Suddenly the sound of falling trees occupied the distance, with every tree that fell the ground would rumble as if a miniature earth quake had just come to a start and had ended abruptly. The rumble became stronger and stronger until two Mechs entered the clearing, Both of them being classified as Ravens . Clark looked at is HUD checking if his mechs temperature levels remained nominal, the Ravens EIRV allowing them to see in the black smoke that was surrounding them.
"Status report razor. Hows your Mech doing?" Clark looked over at Razors Mech, it was the same mech as Clark's with the exception of a different weapons load out, and red and black tiger stripes camo.
"My Betty is fine, Yes?" Razor answered as he stepped on another helpless animal.
The two mechs continued to move south until the spotted something hiding past the trees, Animals of all shapes and sizes were flocking towards it.
"Razor I've spotted something past those trees, not large enough to have a radar signature though." Clark stopped his mech within 200 feet of the object. "If foe I burn, Yes?" Razor answered while arming his flamer.
Clark moved his Mech 5 meters to the left. "Razor, You stay here. I'm going to go around and approach from the left." Clark said as he maneuvered into position "Clark never lets Razor have fun, Yes?" Razor answered with disappointment, powering down his flamer.
As Clark approached he could slowly begin to make out what the object was.
"Is That a...Cottage?" Clark said with disbelief.
Inside of Fluttershy's Cottage.
Fluttershy's cottage was in complete disarray. animals from all over the forest had come here to seek shelter from the raging fire outside.
"oh dear, oh my..." fluttershy spoke as she tended to an injured squirrel.
So far the day had been one of the worst days of Fluttershy's life. The raging fire outside was destroying all these poor animals homes, with the cottage not far from the same fate. on top of that there were sets of mini earth quakes that shook her home, frightening the animals even further.
"water, I need water!" Fluttershy frantically said as she tried to keep the poor squirrel alive.
"hmmmnn.... Please wait here ill be right back!" Fluttershy said as she grabbed a bucket with her mouth and ran outside.
Clark's Mech had only been about 20 meters away from the cottage, when a figure ran out the front door.
"What the Hell..." Clark turned on his zoom optics to get a better look at the small creature that was bent over next to a pond.
Clark was stunned to see that the figure was none other than a-
" IS THAT A PONY?!?!" Clarks said with disbelief.
It was a Pony, pony with wings, a Pegasus to be exact, it appeared to be filling up a bucket with water. However, before Clark could make further thoughts about the Pegasus in front of him, he spotted some thing out of the Conner of his eye. The creature was much larger than the Pegasus, it strongly resembled a wolf. the wolf like creature was approaching the Pegasus from the behind, getting ready to pounce of the poor creature.
Fluttershy heard a twig snap behind her, she turned around and to her horror there was the bright green eyes of an Timberwolf. The Timberwolf growled as it stalked closer, Fluttershy screamed as the wolf pounced towards her. Suddenly a bolt of something green came out of nowhere and sliced right through the Timberwolfs body. The Timberwolf landed on the ground next to Fluttershy, dead. Fluttershy what struggling to comprehend what just happened, had some pony just saved her with a powerful spell? Fluttershy looked to the left were the bolt had come from.
"um...Hello?...." No answer, "I-Is some pony out there?" still no response. there was nothing but a wall of black smoke surrounding her.
as if on cue, the sound of something big coming towards her filled the air. The ground began to shake as the massive creature came into view.
Clark moved his mech forward at its slowest speed, not wanting to alarm the Pegasus he had just saved. The Pony just stared at his mech not even moving, a look of absolute horror plastered on its face.
Not many words could be used to describe the THING that now stood in front of her. It had to have been at least 40 feet tall, most of that hight was made up by its abnormally long legs. On top of those legs as a elongated beak thing, which she presumed was its head, and to the sides of the head were a set of two barrels. The massive beast gave off a humming sound as it just stood there. Even though, it looked to have no eyes, Fluttershy could clearly tell that the beast was staring directly at her. She heard another tree fall behind her, as a second steel monster approached. This one looked exactly as the first, except for its color scheme, red with black stripes.
Razor approached the cottage and stopped in front of the pond.
"Is that a pony yes?" Razor spoke with confusion. Razor the toggled his search lights which lit up a large area.
Fluttershy jumped back two feet when two bright lights revealed themselves on the second creature, she could only assume that those were its eyes. She looked back at the first beast.
"oh...Oh my... Um T-thankyou for saving me..." fluttershy said with a hint of fear in her voice. the mech continued to stare down at her. Suddenly Twilight, Spike, Pinkepie, Applejack, and Rarity came running out from the tree line.
"Oh my goodness, Fluttershy. Thank Celestia you're oka--" Twilight was cut short, her mouth agape as well as were the others. she pointed at the two creatures
"WHAT ARE THOSE THINGS!?!?!?"

yeah, so i think, im gonna stop writing this story. my writing skills aren't the best at the moment, so im just go off the grid for awhile to work on my skills. who knows, I might make a Steve Jobs style return from exile :). Until then this has been AtlasWarlord Signing out.
P.S. For some of you who think this story is dead forever. Its not, ill get back to it one of these days.
