Nighttime. Arguably the most peaceful moment of the entire day for most ponies. All across Equestria, Earth, Unicorn, Pegasi, of all ages were comfortably in slumber under the gorgeous moon, that Princess Celestia rose every night after she had settled down her graceful sun. It was a perfect night...well almost, amidst the infamous Everfree Forest, chaos was in rein.

"YOU WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO ESCAPE ME, WHEN I CATCH YOU, EVERY LAST PIECE OF YOUR REMAINS WILL BE FED UPON MY MINIONS!" This is what was being screamed at a young mare, as she rushed through the Everfree with a bundle draped across her body trying to escape the bellowing being chasing behind her. It had to have been more than an hour since she had escaped the torture she had faced at Battopia..her home...she could feel her legs getting weaker and weaker by the second. Every step was like being shot by some of the most powerful unicorns several times in a row. She just had to take a break.

Finally. I remember that. The zebra's house. Zedora's family had lived there for generations. They were rather strange, but then again, we're all a little strange.

When she saw the mystical looking house, she knew she was near the end of the forest, when she was a filly, Empress Nightmare Moon would take her 'favorite student' here to learn about the dark magic the forest held. The Empress...

Six more years till eternal darkness

...she just had to race to Princess Celestia to warn her about the coming of a nightmare. Even though, why would somepony like Celestia believe anything a former student of the Empress had to say. Let alone, a former student turned Empress by Nightmare Moon, just before she had been banished to the moon. As she continued to run for her life, she could just feel her legs coming apart from the bone. Now, was a good time to try and find cover for awhile. She had already made it out of the Everfree, and as far as she could tell the other mare following her had lost her among the strange plants that inhabited the forest. The mare slowed down her pace a bit as she entered a quaint little town. All around her were houses, which compared to the homes in Battopia, looked as though it was assembled by mere school aged fillies.

My word, never in my life have I seen so much...pink. And I've had been living for about 1,000 years now.

She felt a sort of awkwardness, being the only pony walking around. Which is not unusual being that Daywalkers...well... walked in the sun and slept during the night, which is the exact opposite of Battopia. Speaking of which, as the mare looked up at the sky, the moon was getting closer and closer towards the horizon line.

Great. Two hours and Twenty-Three minutes until sunrise...and six more years until Satan herself returns and all hell breaks loose.

As she walked more into town she decided that it really was time to take a rest. Walking towards a small alleyway she nested herself down between a dumpster and a ratty, old-looking box.

Finally...relief.

It had been the first time in hours she had laid down, and the first time and years she had felt some sort of relief. Which was weird, because she was far from it. Since the moon was right on her from where she was laying, the mare got a good look at what the corrupted mare and former subjects, had done. Cuts and bruises covered her body head-to-hoof, her once beautiful, graceful webbed wings, were now bent and had gashes going straight though them. Her horn, which gave her some of the most powerful magic in all of Equestria, broken in two. Her fangs. The main thing, beside her wings, giving her the identity of a bat pony were gone. Yanked right off with the magic of hatred. She could still taste the blood dripping inside her mouth, which is something she gave up years ago. Just the taste of blood wanted her to throw up, with all the memories of the murders of innocent ponies that were just like her she had committed, just to feed some ungrateful, shitty ponies. The more she thought about the happier she was about her fangs being off. Being a bat pony...no a vampire pony, was a disgrace. All they do is hate and kill innocent ponies. Foals, Fillies, Colts, Mares, Stallions, Elders...she has killed them all, fest upon their blood while their families watched, then killed them too. Each one in a different, perverse way. She despised being a vampire pony, a pony of the night. She was glad her fangs were off, never again she would kill, take away the lives of the innocent. Never again would she...

"M-M-M-ama?"

As soon as she heard that sweet little voice, the mare had immediately stopped thinking about her and her cruel acts. Now, she just wanted to think about the little filly who had made the noise. Her daughter. Turning her head, she pulled the blanket-made-bundle off slowly with her mouth, revealing a tiny gray filly with sparkling black hair looking up to her mother with adorable, reddish-brown eyes.

"Yes my darling?"

the mare had said before gently picking up the young foal by her neck, placing her in her forelegs.

"I-I-I-Is the B-B-ad P-P-P-P-ony G-G-Gone?"

Although her life was terrible at the moment, the mare couldn't help but smile at her young little filly. Her daughter was two-and-half years old, and was first beginning to talk about 3 weeks ago. Even with all the stuttering, her grammar had improved tremendously.

"Yes, My Little Pony, Everything's going to be okay."

She said as she gently nuzzled her daughter, trying to convince her, and herself that everything was going to be alright. The filly, begun to giggle as she poked her mother repeatedly with her tiny horn, setting off little sparks on the edge of her horn, causing the young foal to giggle even more. The former Empress just looked down and smiled at her daughter. She wanted  to make a life for them somewhere else, where they could just be a normal family, well as normal as one could be, being a bat pony among daywalkers. Although, it could never be...this had to be the end...the time for goodbye.  As much as she hated to admit it, she would actually re do her whole Empress time again, just so she could have her daughter. Even the horrific way she conceived her. Yes. All that torture would be worth it, just to see those big red eyes, little horn and webbed wings. Pulling her daughter closer against her,  as tears fell slowly, whispered

"I Love You"

She then closed her eyes, ready to get some much needed rest, until seconds later was alerted by a familiar shriveled, evil sounding laugh.

"Oh no.."

The young mare picked up the foal, who had already fell asleep, gently by the neck and placed her under the blanket inside the ratty box beside her. She knew this was it. The time she was wishing the whole fucking Earth would just collapse in to nothingness and this amount of pain just wouldn't exist anymore. But sadly, this could not happen, it was now time for goodbye, and with what bit of magic she had left inside her broken horn, she wrote on the side of the box:

Please take good care of her, do not judge her for what she is, we're all a little strange.

After whispering 'I love you' one more, tearful time, the mare slowly walked out of the alleyway and immediately was faced with the pony who had been chasing her and torching her for years...a painful scream was all that could be heard.

Six more years until eternal darkness...
