Load Full StoryNext ChapterThe orange, blue eyed mare sat at her desk, Pondering and Empty minded. It was greatly bothering her; the reason why she was so "Lost", at the particular moment. It was a given that the past few years had been some of the most successful times of her life. She had almost everything she could have ever wanted. She had Wealth, class, a decent paying job, and a thousand other things crossed out on her list of Things To Do Before I Die. It could be safely said that Ms. Harshwhinny had it all. With The exception of complete world domination, And...
Somepony to share it with...
It was the cold harsh truth, She had not dated, scratch that, Loved In Years. Of course she would have a small shimmer of happiness once in a while, But the weight of being forever alone still remained on her conscious. Too many times had her heart been broken, too many times had she been left waiting on the side of the road for the date who never came. What was wrong with her, why were ponies so afraid of her, Well that question was redundant. Of course she knew why nopony was attracted her, it was who she was, it was her strict personality. She turned around in her chair, looking out the wall window that was part of most modern office buildings. The height of which her office was placed at gave her a awing sight over the city of Manehattan. She loved the thrill of standing with her body pressed against the window staring down at the ant sized pedestrians and traffic.
As she looked out the window, there was a knock at the door. She quickly turned around and answered.
"Come in" she said in her professional tone.
A red stallion entered, his mane was black, with a medium build and broad shoulders. In his hands, he held a large folder practically over flowing with papers. A very small smile came across her face, for she knew exactly who he was. His name was Steel Hoof whom, she had secretly come to admire. She had always puzzled about how he was able to keep himself in such good condition. If she was right, he had been working in the same line of business for as long as her, but he still looked like he was in his early thirties. Maybe it just came natural to him, or was there some sort of age spell that could keep somepony looking as sexy as he di-. She stopped herself, Did she just call this dashing, stallion "sexy"? She shook the thought from her mind.
"Oh, get a hold of yourself. This type of thinking should never be introduced into the work field!" She mentally scolded herself.
Steel Hoof approached her desk, and placed the file in front of her.
"Whats this?" She asked with her usual stern look. "Its the tax returns that needed to be filled Ma'am. It took me two days plus overtime," Steel hoof responded.
She narrowed her eyes and opened the file. She skimmed through the packet looking for any immediate errors that she was almost sure, she would find. But she was wrong, everything was in picture perfect order. It was Steel's own little way of involuntarily intimidating her, He was so uniquely perfect. The way he dressed, the way he addressed her, and even the way he walked; all were compliments to how perfect he was. she closed the folder and looked up at him.
"Well i must say Steel, that was the shortest time anyone had filled those damned tax returns" she said with a smile. "Eh, its just one of those things..." Steel said while he chuckled at Harshwhinny's comment.
Ms. Harshwhinny went back to the work on her desk, she did not notice that steel had been standing there for a good five minutes. She then looked up at him,
"Is there anything else i could help you with?" she asked with a hint of confusion. "Oh- ah, um... N-no Ma'am" and with that Steel left.
She stared at the door for what seemed like an eternity. What was that about? She got up to go follow him and ask, but as her hand reached for the door nob she realized something.
"Was he blushing?" she quietly asked herself.
No, no. that was irrelevant, why would anypony be attracted to an old hag like her. Well... She knew she still had ample curves, but that was about it. And what she knew about the red stallion, was that he had too much class to go after mares only for there bodies. And she was absolutely sure she was "out of season". Then then it hit her like a brick wall. He was in love with her.
