Meanwhile, Twilight's voice was getting worse and worse. It turned out that the medicine didn't work very well. Nurse Redheart took Twilight to the hospital to fix her voice surgically, with help from other doctors and nurses. After they finished their surgery, Twilight was opening her eyes slowly and saw Nurse Redheart with the doctors and the nurses.
"What happened?" she asked.
Her voice finally came back to her.
"My voice," she said.
"Yes, your voice is back," said Nurse Redheart as she was smiling with relief.
"How did you manage to fix it?" asked Twilight.
Nurse Redheart showed her something on the small tin pan.
"This was stuck in your vocal chords," she said, "It's a piece of an apple peel."
A few days later, Twilight felt better and saw Sunset at the stadium.
"Twilight! You're voice is back!" Sunset said as she hugged her happily.
Twilight smiled and said, "Thank you for helping me."
"Anything for a friend," said Sunset as she smiled back.
A few weeks later, she helped Twilight rehearse her lines one line at a time. And just a few days, Twilight got her lines memorized. As she went to the stadium with Sunset, her five friends and Flash Sentry were surprised to see her.
"Twilight!" said Flash as he hugged her with relief, "I'm so excited to see you! I'm also excited to see you feel better!"
Twilight smiled in response and said, "Me too."
Now she had her voice back, she was finally able to sing again!
"Twilight!" called Rainbow and Applejack, "C'mon!"
"I gotta go," said Twilight, "Bye!"
With that, she ran to the stage. A few minutes later, when her song number came up, she began to sing. As she was singing, her voice sounded better than ever! The rest of Twilight's friends were stunned with amazement.
"That. Was. AWESOME!!!" exclaimed Rainbow.
"Holy mackintosh!" said Applejack. "Ya called?" said Big Mac.
"I didn't mean you," said Applejack, "It's just a statement."
"Sorry," said Big Mac when he went away.

Outside Canterlot High and on the stage, the main six were getting the equipment ready for their very first nativity movie.
"That should do it," said Applejack, "Now let's get a startin'!"
"Pinkie," said Rainbow Dash, who was helping Applejack, "In this scene, you and Fluttershy just say 'baa' a few times. Got it?" "
Okie dokie lokie!" said Pinkie Pie as she nodded her head.
"Twilight," said Rainbow to Twilight Sparkle, "You have a big number coming up. You ready?"
Twilight hung her head down, looked back up with a frown and said, "I lost my voice."
He voice was scratchy and hoarse.
"WHAT?!?" said Rainbow in shock, "You've got to be kidding!"
"No," said Twilight, still scratchy and hoarse, "I really lost my voice."
"Aw man!" said Rainbow with frustration.
"Don't worry, Dashie," said Pinkie, "Look on a bright side. At least we have an understudy."
"You call that a bright side?!?" said Rainbow, "Don't you know who that understudy is?"
Pinkie shook her head no.
"It's Trixie!" said Applejack, "If she shows off as usual, man are we in trouble."
"No no no no! Not Trixie! We didn't expect to use her but..." and with a sigh, Rainbow said, "if we have to, we have to."
"Hey Trixie!" Applejack called, "Get on down here!"
"Coming!" called Trixie as she came to the stage, "'The Great and Powerful Trixie' is here, and ready to perform!"
"Trixie," Rarity pointed out, "You're wearing the wrong costume."
"Wait what?" questioned Trixie.
"Twilight has a role as Mary, Joseph's wife," said Fluttershy.
"Well how does 'The Great and Powerful Trixie' know who Mary is," said Trixie as she went to change costumes.
A few minutes later, she came out in a different costume.
"'The Great and Powerful Trixie' is back in the Mary costume, with 'The Great and Powerful Trixie' flair!" she said as she raised her arms with excitement.
"Trixie, you have to stay in character," said Fluttershy, "You have to play as Mary, not yourself."
Trixie sighed heavily as she went back to change costumes again. A few minutes later, she came out as Mary this time.
"Satisfied, little lamb?" asked Trixie as she glared at Fluttershy.
That scared Fluttershy good.
"Okay," said Applejack, "Act one, scene one. Action!"
"Baa baa baa," bleated Fluttershy and Pinkie.
"Uh, line?" asked Trixie as she sat on her knees.
"Psst, Trixie," whispered Fluttershy, "You just have to watch the baby and smile, that's all you have to do."
"Got it," whispered Trixie.
"Baa baa baa," Fluttershy and Pinkie bleated again.
Trixie was confused about the action she had to do.
"Line?" she asked.
"Cut," said Rainbow, "Let's move on to the next scene."
A few moments later, Trixie was making a slight change.
"There's going to be a slight change, folks. Instead of 'Away In the Manger', I'll sing 'O Holy Night'," she said, "Hit it, Pon3!"
DJ Pon3 (or Vinyl Scratch) turned on the DJ turnables and played the "O Holy Night" track. Then, Trixie started to sing:
"O Holy Night, the stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear savior's birth."
"Uh, line?" she asked, "Line?!"
No response.
"Oh forget it," she said and continued to sing.
Just then, she fell off the stage and ripped her costume.
"Oh no!" she cried, "'The Great and Powerful Trixie''s performance is ruined!"
While she was crying, Rarity noticed the ripped part of the costume.
"Trixie, darling, you need to get off stage," she said, "Your costume is ripped."
Trixie stopped crying.
"Ripped?" she questioned and then grew excited, "'The Great and Powerful Trixie' can do a wardrobe change!"
She went to change costumes again, and went in her white sparkling dress.
"'The Great and Powerful Trixie' in the house, REMIX!" she said with her arms raised again.
DJ Pon3 remixed the song and played the same but remixed track. Then, Trixie started rapping the first lyrics she only knew. While rapping, Rainbow pulled her out of the scene.
"But 'The Great and Powerful Trixie' is doing so well!" Trixie complained.
"Yeah, for sabotaging the scene!" said Rainbow as she pulled the lever.
The trap door opened and Trixie fell to the bottom of the stage.
"We should fire Trixie," said Rainbow.
"Yeah," agreed Applejack, "We should."
Rainbow turned to the rest of the girls.
"We'll have to cancel this practice because of that show-off named Trixie," she said, "And Twilight's voice is gone, too. So whenever she feels better and has her voice back, it'll be our Christmas miracle."
And the five girls agreed with excitement.

The next day, Rainbow called Trixie to come see Applejack.
"She needs to see you for a few minutes," she said.
I bet she'll love "The Great and Powerful Trixie"'s performance, Trixie thought.
When they came to see Applejack, Trixie had an expecting smile on her face, hoping that she'll be accepted. But Applejack and Rainbow frowned and told her that they can't accept her performance in Twilight's part.
"Why can't you accept 'The Great and Powerful Trixie''s spectacular performance?" she asked angrily.
"You call that a spectacular performance?!?" shouted Rainbow, "We call that a 'dumpster' performance!"
"Yeah," agreed Applejack, "That's why we can't accept you as an understudy any longer. We've had it, and we're sorry, but..."
She took a deep sigh and finished off by saying, "Yer fired."
"WHAT?!?" screeched Trixie, "You can't fire 'The Great and Powerful - "
"Yeah yeah, we get it," said Rainbow, "Anyway, you're outta here."
"Yeah, ya better not come back," said Applejack, "or I'll call Big Mac to throw ya out."
Trixie got really vicious and stormed off.
"At least we took care of that," said Rainbow.
"Yeah, but what about Twilight's voice?" Applejack asked.
"It's still scratchy and hoarse," Rainbow said sadly, "And we need a better understudy."
"How?" Applejack asked again, "Auditions?"
"I dunno," said Rainbow as she shrugged her shoulders, "I think we'll set it out at the right day and time."
A few hours later, they found a new understudy named Sunset Shimmer. Since she's changed now from her evil ways, she was now a good person and was able to help Twilight by becoming an understudy. A few minutes later, Sunset learned Mary's part and practicing her lines. Meanwhile, Nurse Redheart took care of Twilight by giving her a special remedy to help her voice. When Twilight took it, she felt a little strange.
"Your voice should be back in a day or two," Nurse Redheart said.
"I hope so," said Twilight, still sounded scratchy and hoarse.

The Sweetest Gingerbread House Contest
"Hey guys!" said Scootaloo as she woke up Applebloom and Sweetie Belle, "We're entering a contest!"
"What contest?" asked Applebloom sleepily.
"The Sweetest Gingerbread House Contest!" said Scootaloo.
Hearing this, Sweetie Belle grew hyper and excited.
"Really?" she asked as she hopped up and down.
"Yeah really," said Scootaloo.
"Well, what're we wait'n fer?" said Applebloom, "Let's get goin'!"
When they arrived at the cafeteria of Canterlot High, thousands of students and small children were already in line before they did. Scootaloo's eyes shrank in shock.
"That's a bunch'a people," said Applebloom.
"Now what are we going to do?" asked Sweetie Belle with fear, "The poster said that the contest entry ends in two days!"
"Yeah," said Scootaloo, "We can't wait that long!"
After 5 hours of long lines, they finally can enter to contest.
"Finally!!!" Scootaloo exclaimed.
When they went to sign up for the contest, Watermelody told them that the sign-ups were closed for today.
"WHAT?!?" they shrieked in shock.
"We've been here for 5 whole hours!" complained Scootaloo.
"Yeah," said Sweetie Belle, "Just for us to sign up!"
"I'm sorry, girls," said Watermelody, "We, the staff of the contest, have to go home right now. You can come back earlier tomorrow."
The next day, Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo tried to get in line earlier and it turned out better than they expected. They were the very first in line to sign up for the contest! Watermelody accepted their entry. Now that they were entering the contest, they needed to come up with an awesome design on the gingerbread house. It took them a few days to finish their gingerbread house by adding tiny candies for doorknobs, icing for texture on the house, and gumdrops for bushes. When the contest was about to begin, they carefully placed it on the table to be examined by the judges. After the judges examined all of the contestants' gingerbread houses, they wrote down some scores.
"Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the awards!" said the announcer as the crowd applauded.
Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were kind of nervous, but hoping that their house will be the sweetest. The announcer continued on.
"The judges have made their decision," she said, "4th place for the Sweetest Gingerbread House, goes to Periwinkle Cupcake, Fudge Dripple, and Confetti Sprinkle!"
The crowd applauded as the announcer gave the 4th place ribbon to Periwinkle and her friends.
"3rd place for the Sweetest Gingerbread House, goes to Icing Frosting, Cinnamon Stick, and Licorice Twist!"
The crowd applauded again as the announcer gave the 3rd place ribbon to Icing and her friends. Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo were even more nervous than before.
"2nd place for the Sweetest Gingerbread House, goes to Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo!"
The crowd did the same thing as the announcer gave the 2nd place ribbon to Applebloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo.
"1st place and the grand champion for the Sweetest Gingerbread House, goes to Gingersnap, Sugar Rush, and Candy Crush!"
The crowd went wild when the announcer gave the 1st place ribbon and a trophy to Gingersnap and her friends.
"Congratulations!" she said.
"Oh well," said Applebloom, "Better luck next time."
"Yeah," said Scootaloo, "At least it's better than nothing."
