  1. Minute Mares (MM)

The militia force of RED. With Equestria's borders being vast and in case the RA (Regular Army) can't protect all of Equestria, Minutemares are there to protect the far reaches of its borders. Generally, Minute Mares are undesired and ponies only become minute mares if they barely pass the minimal points for Basic Training. Ponies nearer Canterlot and other Major cities have less of a chance to become Minutemares as the RED Command wants as much able bodied pony in the Regular Army. The pay is minimal and their chances of survival if attacked is also adverse. They wear Camp-Wear uniforms due to shortage of RA uniforms for everypony.

  1. Regular Army (RA) later renamed Grenadiers

The backbone of RED Forces. All ponies are required to enter the RA, scoring well above the minimal points. They wear the standard olive or gray-blue color uniforms. They wear either their steel helmets, field caps, or cadet caps. They range between fairly trained to well trained. Their role is to  There are ___ subsets in the RA.

-Coltgrenadiers (CG):

Coltgrenadiers are advanced heavy infantry of the Regular Army. Membership into the Coltgrenadiers is only through passing ACE (Advanced Combat Exam) or distinguishing oneself on the battlefield. Their uniform, like Jumpers, are camouflaged with 'Splinter Camouflage', from Autumn to Spring variants. They have higher morale, better experienced veterans, and are better armed with heavy weapons to wreak havoc on tanks and infantry. Often, they are used for major offensives or to defend a critical point on the battlefield (Camo + Heavy Weapons + Morale)

-Army Rangers:

The spiritual successor to the Appleseed Rangers, Army Rangers are the advanced light infantry of RED Force. The use of rangers in Cervidas showed how effective a lightly equipped soldier can deal immense damage on the enemy with speed and ferocity. They wear Splintered Camouflaged uniforms and only Field/Cadet Camps. Their role is to harass the enemy, using the surrounding environment to their advantage and fleeing into the forest/mountain, readying to launch another hit-and-run. Basically, they fight a war of attrition. Also, because of their better marksmanship with rifles and light anti-tank arms, they like to go Mare/Tank Hunting.

  1. AirBorn:

The air force of the RED Force. Exclusive and mandatory to Pegasi, they can only enter the Jumpers by passing the flight exam, speed and maneuverability. Pegasi who fail to pass the exam are turned to the Regular Army. Their helmets lack the rolled-over edges due to flight issues (slows them down as air is being pushed against the edges). There are three subsets in the AirBorn:

-Divers: Tasked with bombing operations, divers basically dive toward their targets and releasing bomb payloads with high or low accuracy (carpet bombing). They wear a light blue or gray-blue variant of the uniform.

-Jumpers: Like the CG, they wear splinter camouflaged uniforms. Though they stick out in the skies, it is irrevelant because the role of Jumpers is to land behind Roaman lines and causing havoc and providing reconnaisance

-ThunderBolts (TB): The elite AirBorn unit, they are one of the most Elite fighting force. Being mostly made up of Wonderbolts due to their exceptional skills, the ThunderBolts are tasked with the riskiest missions. Because of their small size and invaluable worth, they are rarely used but for hostage rescues, infiltration amidst major AirBorn operations, and high-value targets. This also means most ThunderBolts will be leading Jumpers and Divers.

  1. Lunar Guards (LG)

Originally Luna's personal guards, they would become the most elite fighting force of the RED forces. Wearing a gray variant of the RA uniform, but their most distinct look is the mask resembling a skull's jaw, covering their mouth. Their helmet also has an insignia saying: 'LG'. LG are not part of the Regular Army because neither Luna or Celestia wanted the LG to be associated with the RA as their appearance and sometimes ruthless tactics would give the other military branche a bad name. Most LG are former coltgrenadiers or are from the Jumpers. Those who join the LG make a sacrifice, some losing their Ponity to achieve the greater good. Some even have their status state that they're missing so family members and friends would not know that they have joined one of the most elite and feared organizations. They are armed with regular firearms but with addons and other modifications. Most LG Due to their small size and elite status, LG units are primarily used to escort Princess Luna and other important figures, participate in large critical battles as trump cards, suppression roles to squash out uprisings, and hold areas to the last mare. This and their looks have made them the most feared force in the RED Force's arsenal. They exist to create the sense of order, control, and fear towards their enemies. It is said that their skull mouthpiece is made of dragon bones, providing amor to protect their mouths

  1. Equestrian Maritime Fleet (EMF)

Story: When the Roamans surprise attack the fleet, most of the surface navy is destroyed, but the Pride and a few other pocket ships escape to New Saddle or Canterbury. The majority of submarines also slip past the Roaman fleet, they would spend the war sinking convoys and ships.

Traits:

Armored Warfare: The RED Armored force initially tried to imitate the Roamans with their light fast tanks (Panzer 2 and 3's). However, due to smaller industrial efficiency, the ponies have much less tanks. As a result, ________ suggests that they create a medium tank that can be easily upgraded (instead of producing another one) to adapt to the battlefield and to not produce another tank for that role (Panzer 4). They also cut corners with their tank destroyers by creating a casement TD, which not only is cheaper but it also allows a bigger gun. Their TD are well armored and great gun but cannot rotate turret. They have a few heavy tanks (Tiger Tanks)

Strengths:

-Technology. WIth Twilight supervising

-Shortcuts/resourceful. In spite of being behind the Roaman War Machine in both the amount and abillity to produce war materiel, they make use of the limited resources and find shortcuts to increase output without drastically

-Cooperative leadership.

-Morality. Even LG Units, who are often portrayed as the cruel, objectivist, and cold blooded fighting force of Equestria have shown sympathy and valuing other lives over theirs. A small detachment of LGs are sent to a small village to make a final stand to protect retreating RA ponies. However, the village is caught in the crossfire, they require evacuation. However, the LG need to dig in and prepare for the oncoming assault. It is calculated that if the LGs dig in, they would be able to not only allow the retreating ponies to survive, but also hold the line. On the other hand, the LGs can evacuate the pony populace but futilely hold the line only to be overwhelmed and crushed. Thanks to Pinkie, she manages to convince the the lieutenant to save the village ponies, going against the order from RED Command. They send off Pinkie and the rest while they hold out, eventually being overwhelmed. Regardless, their heroic efforts slow down the Roaman forces enough for both village ponies and RA ponies to escape and form a more unfavorable but a sufficient new line of defense closer to Canterlot.

Weaknesses:

-When the war starts, most of the army is not well trained enough for war, not enough equipment for every division, only half of the army is worthy for combat, and nearly non-existant logistics system (have yet to implement mules and instead, the ponies and the rather limited trains for logistics),

-Initially suffers from a lack of chain of command, separate branches (RA and AirBorn) reduces combat effeciency and unit cooperation

-Lack of equivalent Armour initially.

-Playing Catch-Up. RED was prepared for war, but not ready to fight a war. Military Build-Up started at the beginning of Season 2, whereas the Roaman Republic began arming for war in Mid-Season 1. RED desperately tried to catch up with the Roaman Forces, trying to increase production of war materiel and at the same time, produce a good amount of domestic goods to please the populace. Strains on the Military budget resulted in a shortage of armour and naval vessels. They are also unable to erect much of their heavy fortifications in time, resulting in early defeats. During a military showing in Mid-Season 2 at a stadium in Canterlot, the tanks are ordered to drive around the stadium to create the impression that there were more tanks than there actually was. which the Roaman Republic managed to put more focus on War Materiel over domestic g

Offensive:

Defensive: While they may not construct heavy fortified bunkers like Roaman forces (who intend to hold onto their positions), RED Forces focuses on topographical elements and the stature of ponies. Because heavy fortifications take much longer to construct and invaluable if lost, RED believes in quickly constructed defenses (i.e. trenches, sandbags, foxholes) and use of the surrounding environment. Hiding Because most ponies are short in stature, they can easily dig in faster (less ground to dig if shorter) and get in and out of foxholes more faster.

Dog bombs: Used later in the war as things become desperate OR dog inmates sent to die rather than serve time in a jail, dog bombs are diamond dogs who are taped to a large warhead and told to roll under tanks, killing themselves and the tank

-voodoo dolls (cant kill but can torture) and voodoo magic that empowers their forces

Strengths: Superior Marepower. Thanks to military conquest and forced integration with Zebrica, the Roaman Military has a larger numerical army over the RED Army, a 3:1 advantage in fact. More marepower means that

-Mix of Different species: The Military of the Roam is made up of Zebras, Ponies, Dogs, Cheetahs, Boars, Goats, Rhinos and Griffons. Each species offers a role to fill-in during combat.

-Early Mobilization: Because of the Troubles, the City State of Zevera quickly rearmed itself for expansionism to save its economy and people. Conquest of neighboring city states in Zebrica gained Zevera industrial capacity to produce more goods and better share out goods all throughout Zebrica. The con

Weaknesses:

-Different Species: A problem with the amount of different species is that they are locked in very specific roles and morale varies amongst the species. Since different species are locked to their specific roles, i.e. Rhinos serving as Chargers and Dogs as sappers, they cannot easily be adapted to different situations which often happens in war, especially when the two combatants (Equestria and Roam) are deadlocked and relatively equal. Also, cetain species whose roles are more menial have a smaller allegiance to a nation that has subjugated its people and forced them into a war.

-Leadership Power Struggle. There is a major power struggle in the Roaman Military. Much of the generals and commanders are egoistic, refusing to cooperate with one another due to differences in military doctrine and personal grudges. While the Empress can intervene and force cooperation, most of the cooperation is half-hearted and a ploy.

-Scorched Earth Policy/Terror Tactics:

-Racial Superiority: Being united by Zebrica, many species under the Roaman Military are subjected to a caste-like system of discrimination. Zebras, Cheetahs, and Griffons see themselves as being the superior species. Because of this, most officer roles are given to these three species, ponies as well but only certain amounts. Other races, dogs, boars, ponies, goats, and rhinos are treated as tools and cannon fodder.

Armored Warfare: The Roaman tanks are mostly light fast tanks (Stuarts) designed to break through defenses and take as much land (Equestrian lands are vast). Their TD's are lightly armored but good AP (Wolverines). They also have heavy tanks that are slow but are deadly and induce fear (King Tigers)
