Celestia finds that Twilight no longer needs her as she used to. Sure, she will always come to her for advice, and she will always think of her as the daughter she never had, but she longs for something.
Celestia loved to teach, she always will, but now she has no student to teach. The solution to this, she finds, is simple, she must find a new pupil. A pupil that will grow to a great mind.
It must too be said that, though Celestia had loved Twilight and saw what a brilliant mind she could grow, it was not the only reason she chose her. It would be nice not to have to make sure everything that needed to happen, happened. She could actually teach this one just to, well, teach.
Well, she hoped, but fate has always had a way to laugh at Celestia.
