It was a dismal, rainy late afternoon in Ponyville. The rain was somewhat heavy and the Ponyville Paintball War Battlefield was hidden away in its usual spot because, ya know, it can't move. The chill of winter hit the ponies like a blizzard for obvious reasons and the sky was dark because it was dark. It was several months since Celestia gave it up for Equestria accidentally in a fight with the changeling queen Chrysalis.
"You know the rules. Use your strategies, sabotage and sneak in on players. Only one can be the champion, girls. However, you DO NOT-" Luna stopped to make sure everyone was listening, -DO NOT attempt to murder or be overly violent towards one another. DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?" she bellowed speaking in the Royal Canterlot Voice. Twilight covered her ears.
"Yes, Luna!" shouted the Mane Six simultaneously.
"Let's see who will win!" cheered Rainbow Dash. "Obviously me!!!"
"Then 3... 2... 1... GO!"
The ponies raced like the wind into and even just outside the almost pitch black forest. Rainbow dashed through the darkness and hid herself sneakily in a deep green bush which wasn't that visible because of the terrible lighting.
"They'll never see meee..." giggled Rainbow Dash, fading into the darkness and covering herself up to the point she was completely hidden. She waited a minute. Pinkie galloped past almost silently, and by the time Dash had realized that it was Pinkie Pie, it was too late. She could only facehoof.
Meanwhile, Fluttershy hid herself above the trees. She waited a minute. She realized the sky was higher than everything else. She facehoofed and flew down to find unsuspecting victims.
"Aaah, aaah aaaaaah!" sang Fluttershy. She paused and turned around in order to spot any predators.
There was nothing except for Dash who had moved into a more obvious space. Both stared at each other, waiting for one to shoot.
"Try to Rainbow Dash this..." Flutters readied her gun, preparing for the kill attack. "Aaah, aaah aaaaaah!" The noise forced Rainbow Dash to jump out and shoot Fluttershy with blue gunky stuff or whatever you wanna call it.
"Hahahaha!" laughed Dash. "Outta the game!"
"Hmph." hmphed Fluttershy in a hmphy tone of a voice.
Pinkie Pie had her gun ready to shoot like it always was. Nopony had fallen for her, not even Fluttershy. If Lauren Faust didn't have to make Pinkie Pie an earth pony, Pinkie would be having the last laugh.
"Give up the rice..." whispered Pinkie, ready to get Dash, who was hiding in a tree and getting covered in tree sap.
The rain began to get stronger and she had no choice but to get her first victim. She was going for the prize.
"Daaaaaassshieeee..." moaned Pinkie Pie loudly.
"What the hay, Pinkamena Diane Pie?" yelled Dash angrily.
"Ssshh... listen." she whispered. Dash paused. Pinkie's paintball gun repeatedly blasted Rainbow, splatting her with pink.
Rarity had been dodging shots like a professional, and not firing one until Pinkie shocked her. Somehow, Rarity had the mind to fire a shot like a professional and not dodging one until Pinkie fired because nothing was fired while she was firing.
"Heh heh..." smirked Rare. She started to smile at Pinkie, waiting for her to move.
"Wanna go in together?" asked Pinkie Pie. She charged her gun simultaneously with Rarity and began to charge out for Twilight Sparkle.
"Huh, Pinkie wants to go in together..." thought Rarity. "Won't bend the play style just to go in with Pinkie Pie. Gotta fire her down. For crying out loud, one of us has to attack..." She narrowed her eyes. Twilight was teleporting around. Rarity nodded at Twi as both charged in on Pinkie and fired.
"Gyaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!" screamed Pinkie. She was covered in purple and white paint as she dropped the gun.
Applejack, however, was just gonna go all in. She was the most sneaky. She had one strategy: wait for ponies to be oblivious then shock 'em with an orange surprise.
"Ah won't let ya down, Ma." She looked to the heavens. She cantered into the outskirts where Rarity and Twi were having a Twifight to the Sparkledeath. After becoming extremely puffed out, she prepared herself. She hid in the middle of the forest which might not get a name ever.
"Three down, two to go..." murmured AJ to herself.
"Nothing will make me give up-" Rarity was interrupted by a blast from Twilight Sparkle. "My hair..."
"Correction. One to go."
She walked extremely slowly and was shocked by the sight of Rainbow Dash.
"Holy sweet CELESTIAAAA!!!" Applejack pulled the trigger.
"What the hay?" complained Dash. "Pinkie shot me down like fifteen minutes ago!"
"Sorry..." apologized Applejack. She trotted out of the forest and allowed the wind to blow her mane dramatically.
It was a natural reaction for Twilight to peer up at Applejack. They came close to each other and Applejack lay down so Twilight couldn't throw her off. She bit her lip as she shot Twilight Sparkle and remembered that Luna never left a flag. Twi felt the gooey orange surprise run down her coat and she ran off in horror. Applejack had won.
"And in 6th place... Fluttershy!"
"Grr..." grred Fluttershy in a grry tone of voice.
