When Friendship Becomes Something More: a Hearth's Warming Eve story
Nero had a life all to his own, working at the Canterlot news station, living in a fair sized house, but he never actually had someone he could call his own and they could could call him theirs. Of course there's been a relationship here or there, but nothing really certain to last forever. His higher-ups have always been fairly cool if not for them being rude sometimes, but he's always been okay. However, there's always been some hole somewhere deep that he just could never fill. Not with all of the friends or money or jokes could fill that unknown void deeply set inside him. He needed somepony to hold, somepony to love that would care about him, and little to his knowledge he'd find that pony that very Hearth's Warming Eve.
When Friendship Becomes Something More: a Hearth's Warming Eve story
It was winter, the howling winds and frigid cold were enough to keep anypony indoors for Hearths Warming Eve. Traversing through the freezing weather was a dark coated unicorn wearing winter clothing and attempting to make his way back home after getting off a train from Canterlot. The only thing that could run through Nero’s mind was what he’d do when he got back home. He’d curl up by the warm fire with a cup of cocoa and wait for morning comfortably. Nero, his muzzle now red from the cold, finally came upon his house to only then realize the door was frozen shut. He tried hard with his magic to open the door, but in doing so he dislodged a load of it from his roof that came crashing down on him and the door. He was freezing, cold, and alone in a pile of snow just outside his house unable to move. The world began to fade darker as he grew unconscious from the lack of oxygen and just as he slipped into a rest he could hear a familiar voice.
Nero woke up, surprised he wasn’t in a grave, but in a large couch. He was tucked delicately in with a large soft blanket, the relaxing crackle of a fire could be heard in the background while its heat filled the room. Nero stretched his weary legs and got out of bed to see whom rescued him and why he was dragged to this house. It was a bit difficult at first since he was nearly crushed under a giant mass of snow, but managed to slowly make his way around.
Nero shouted “Hello? Is anypony in here, preferably one that isn’t a psycho… or Duhad.”
He got no response so he continued to search around the place while calling out for the pony that must’ve rescued him. He searched every inch of the place, but with no luck. Instead of talking to himself like a crazy pony to pass the time, he chose to wait and occupy himself until his savior returned. It wasn’t like he was going to go back out there especially in that weather and when there still is a fairly fresh mug of hot chocolate. It was so delectable that Nero lost time while enjoying it, and was startled finally with the slam of a door. He noticed a blue coated stallion with a brown mane and a pair of fogged up glasses. He had smiled warmly while taking off his winter garments.
Nero stammered “Herr i-is that you? Did you save me from being put in the news as the pony who died 2 feet in front of the door to their own house?”
“Yeah, when I heard a big crash I came running. All I could see was the end of your tail so I dug through and carried you inside my home.” Herr responded in a cheerful tone.
“Well I guess since we’re both here, can I just spend the night at your place? I promise I’ll leave in the morning when the snow melts.” Nero asked rhetorically.
“Of course you can where else are you gonna stay?”
It was nice for Nero to finally be with somepony this Hearth’s Warming instead of sitting alone in an empty house. The night continued with them laughing and playing games like Cards Against Poneighty and drinking hot apple cider. Now drunk enough with red in their faces, Nero looked at Herr and with some help with the cider he felt like he had enough courage to tell Herr how he really felt. Unbeknownst to him, Herr was thinking the same thing.
They both began “I think I need to tell you som-“ they paused surprised.
“Maybe you should go first.”
“No you should go.” Nero insisted.
“Okay. I’ve had this feeling inside me that ever since I first met you when we read that first story with Duhad. A feeling that I didn’t realize what it meant until now, here in this storm when we’re here together. I think I have feelings for you.” Herr admitted.
“I didn’t know you felt the same way. I-I don’t know what to say but-“
Nero was quickly interrupted as the lips of Herr met his suddenly, he blushed for a bit before kissing him in return. The warmness of each other touching was a feeling they knew they wanted for a long time. It was now official, they were together. They made more hot cocoa and laid next to each other, Herr’s wing draped over Nero’s back. Worry began to grown inside of Nero since if the other guys found out about their new relationship they’d probably make fun and laugh since Duhad is an asshole.
“Don’t worry, I’ll make them accept us.”Herr stated comfortingly.
He said while wiping the tears streaming down Nero’s cheeks. Just like that Nero kissed him, but this time differently than before. This time with more passion, Herr and Nero continued to kiss as they continued upstairs, still kissing sensually. They finally made it up, Herr’s wings now fairly stiff hard to move, their sweat and body heat filling the bedroom. They could both tell they were ready, both getting stiff down under before Herr pushed Nero onto the bed. Nero spread his legs, ready to take in Herr for the first time, panting and sweaty. Herr slowly crept up behind him, getting inches near to Nero, their bodies nearly touching. Nero felt a sensation inside him, his horn began to glow a bright copper, it began to surround Herr’s body and he lifted from the ground. Herr screamed as Nero threw him out the window of the second story.
