To love an older woman
The Dynamic Reading Duo!

You do your morning routine: Piss, Shower, Dress.
Your mind loses focus on Twilight and focuses on your morning ritual.
After you're all fresh in clean clothes and clean from your shower, you exit your room again. You start thinking about what you need to do today.
"Anon, you really should get up earlier." your Mom says, talking to you from the couch.
She's watching something boring on television while staring into her phone. Her dark brown hair covers up her face, not looking towards you during her criticism.
"Like I said, storm kept me up."
"Hows school going?" she asks, still not looking up.
You sit on the couch next to her. "Eh."
That got her attention. "Eh?"
"Yeah. Eh."
She squints at you. "Anon, if you bring me home any C's I'll-"
"No C's, Mom."
"D's?"
"No."
"F's?!"
"No. What kind of student do you take me for?"
She gives a satisfied nod. "Good..." she glances back to her phone.
"So...." She smirks a little bit. "How's Ms. Cheerilee?"
"Shut up."
"Anon! Don't speak to your mother that way!"
You roll your eyes.
"So, hows she doing?"
"Fine."
"....You haven't talked to her?"
You sigh "Yeah, I did."
"And?"
You remain silent.
"Anon, I know you didn't want me to find about that...and I'm sorry for snooping through your tex-"
"Its fine. I just don't want to talk about her."
She laughs a little, "Aww come on, Anon! If you can tell your friends about her then why to me? I think its cu-"
"Heard anything from Dad lately?" you say abruptly, trying to change the subject.
She shakes her head.
"No. Maybe you should call him yourself. Maybe he'll have some advice for you."
"Nah, I can handle it." She scoffs.
"I've met Cheerilee at PTA's, Anon. She's almost twice your ag-"
"Okay." You get up from the couch and head back to your room.
"All I'm saying is stick with women your age!"
"Alright. Thanks." You shut the door behind you and sit on the bed.
Its true, sometimes she goes through your phone. You don't mind it too much since you don't really text anything THAT vulgar or personal, but she's crossed the line a few times. Especially with this. Her knowing you like older women is just....awkward. You glance at your night stand.
Picking up your phone, you tap the screen on.
3 new messages.
Junk.
Junk.
Twilight.
You tap open the Twilight message.
"Yeah, its one my favorites! I have the entire series at home. If you want the sequels, just ask. Sorry it took so long for a response, I slept in."
You tap back.
"Up reading all night?"
Send.
BZZZZZ
"Yeah. I'm into a book that I can't put down, currently."
You sit and think of a response. "Well at this rate I'll be done with this book in a couple of days. I'll take the sequels off your hands, if you don't mind."
Seems things are going smoothly. Maybe you should go after women your age. Twilight seems like a really nice girl, after all.
BZZZZT
"Yeah, no problem! I can bring them to school on monday, or you can come get them now if you want!"
Get them now...?
You think about that comment for a moment. You'd get to go to Twilights house...
Hmm...
You start tapping. "Yeah, I'll probably be finished with the first one today, so I can at least start the first one on Sunday!"
You're only a couple chapters in, and you're nowhere near completing it...but you doubt she'll say no to that.
"You walk to school?"
"Yeah."
"Meet me in front of the school at 3 and I'll bring you them!"
...Shit. Ah well. At least you'll get to see her face to face again.
"Sounds good. See you then."
You lock your phone and set it down.
Ah shit...better get in some better clothes. You smell yourself before making a sour face. More deodorant couldn't hurt either.
You decide a second brush of your teeth could only work in your favor as well. You're hyped. Snazzing yourself up a bit, you make your way to the front door.
"Going out?" your mom calls from the kitchen.
"Yep."
"How long you going to be?"
"Shouldn't be past 5 or so."
"Alright. Take care."
"Mhm."
You open the door, walk through the doorway and shut it behind you. Ignoring your nervousness, you start walking down the sidewalk towards school.
Not here.
You check your wrist watch. 3:12
Fucking hell. You pull out your phone.
No new messages from her.
Whatever. She's a girl, they take forever with everything.
You lean against the outer stone wall of the school, facing the street.
Tapping your phone screen for another 20 minutes you finally hear, "Anon!" You glance to your left down the sidewalk.
There’s Twilight with a couple of books in tow. Someones with her. Oh. Its the lead guitarist of the Rainbooms... Rainbow Dash.
GUHHF Oh shit, stand up, you idiot!
You shoot up and make sure your back is straight as they approach.
"I brought you your books, Anon." she says with a smile on her face.
"Oh! And meet my friend Rainbow Dash!"
"Sup." she says, bored.
Yeesh. Cold greeting. "Hi, Rainbow Dash. I'm a big fan of your guitar work."
"You don't say?" she says, looking at her nails.
Why does she seem so distant? Whatever. You take the books from her.
"Thanks a lot. I really hope that it isn't an issue."
"Not at all! I have a huge collection of books in my room! Its like my own personal library."
"Wow, really?"
"Yeah, I was just getting Rainbow a couple of-"
"Twilight" she whispers, in an irritated tone.
"Heh, whoops."
"I'm gonna head back to my place, Twi. Gotta practice. Nice meeting you, Anon." Rainbow says, leaving Twilight behind her and walking past you. You turn around and watch as she leaves.
"Don't mind her, Anon...she's just kind of closed off to new people."
You can't help but look over your shoulder as she walks away. "Are you...sure I didn't say anything?"
She shakes her head. "No, Anon...She's just like that."
"Is it because you said she likes books?"
"Yeah...you noticed?"
"Uhh, yeah? You said it right in front of me."
"I promised her I wouldn't tell anyone. But since you know...can you promise not to tell anyone she likes reading?"
"Yeah. I guess so."
"Thanks." She fidgets a little bit...
"I promise I won't say anything. You can trust me with that kind of stuff."
"No, its not that I think you'll tell...She's probably mad at me now. That’s all. Not your fault, Anon."
You give her a dissatisfied look. "Maybe I should go tell he-"
"No! That will just make it worse. Give her space."
This is awkward. A fitting awkward silence sets in.
"So..."
You try to set a new subject. "You said something about you own personal library?"
"Yep! I have books on every side of my wall, save the spots where my bed and desk are."
"That’s crazy. You like books that much, eh?"
She nods and smiles happily. "Yup! I can show you if ya want!"
"Oh, heh, well, I don't know about tha-"
"Its not a problem! You should meet my Mom! She's really nice!"
You're starting to get a bit nervous, sweat forming at your brow. "Ah...thats okay."
Her smile fades and she looks at you confused. "Anon? You okay?"
Come on. You like Twilight and you wanted to spend time with her. Don't back out now. "I'm fine. Your library sounds cool."
"So you want to see it? I like showing it off!" She says, smiling again.
She's pretty cute. "Yeah...sure."
Smiling, she turns around and starts heading back the way she came. "Come on, Anon!"
You breathe in and sigh. Here goes nothing. You pick up the pace and get up to her side. Its quiet between you two at first, but not really that awkward.
"So...how much do you read?" she asks, trying to strike up conversation.
"Oh, here and there nothing like...extreme. I'm sure you get through one book in a couple of days."
"I'd say that’s a safe estimate."
"What got you into reading?"
"I don't know, I guess its just something I really got interested in. I don't meet many people who enjoy reading too. Too many people these days are staring into their phones."
You laugh and nod. “Yeah, my friends make fun of me for reading books."
She looks at you with a confused look. "Anon, if they make fun of you for being who you are then they aren't real friends."
You shrug. "They're just being idiots and giving me shit. Its not a big deal."
She seems to be taken aback by your harsh language again. Maybe you should tone it down on that. She's not that type of girl. She comes off to you as a lady. Not your typical 'bitch' at school. You like that about her. Its actually quite refreshing to meet someone like this.
You realize that your conversations died down. "So you only sing, right?"
She nods. "Yeah, I don't think I'm cut out for an instrument!"
"Can't any of the other members of the band teach you?"
"Nah. I'd rather not trouble them. Besides, I like to sing."
You shrug. "So you sing with Rainbow Dash?"
"Yeah. So we hang out a lot because of that."
"She doesn't seem like the type that you'd hang out with."
"I can see why you'd think that. I'm a bookworm and she's pretty much a school sports star."
"And she secretly likes to read. Who'd have thought?"
"Books are like music. There’s something out there for everyone. Just not everybody gives it a chance....I respect people who do though."
"Its weird how its become somewhat of a taboo to read."
"Yeah. Its a shame."
"On a happier note, we're here."
She directs her open palm to a house on your right. Its in a residential area with a lot of typical houses...but theirs just stands out. Its bigger than most, but not by too much.
"Nice place." you say.
"Yeah. Its a great place to live. Good neighborhood, really quiet."
She walks up to the front door and knocks.
Author's Note
Anon apparently just doesn't understand the concept of reading like dashie does. Just another bit thrown in, maybe some good parts in the next chapter perhaps? You will never know!
