To love an older woman
Dearest Velvet
Previous ChapterNext ChapterWhys she knocking on her own door? Eh, she probably just wants to properly introduce you to her mother. Whatever, its fine.
You both wait a couple of seconds before the door opens.
You heart drops. Your stomach immediately forms a knot. You have to keep your mouth from dropping. The woman who opens the door is a woman beyond your wildest dreams beautiful. ...Thats her Mom? Holy shit, she's amazing!
"Anon, meet my Mom, Velvet!"
"Who is this?" she asks with a smile.
Twilight replies with a smile, "This is my friend Anon. I met him recently at school. He likes books almost as much as I do."
She turns and looks at you. "Almost."
"Heh ...n-nice to meet you, Ms. Sparkle."
Velvet looks at you, a warm smile on her face. "My, My, Twilight...its been awhile since you brought a boy over."
There have been others? Ah, quit being so territorial. You're not even dating.
Velvet's hair is a striped white...and a light purple... She has beautiful blue eyes, unlike Twilight's purple ones. Her body is firm, yet voluptuous. Suddenly every thought of Cheerilee is pushed out of your mind, seemingly permanently. She wears jeans and a purple woman's t-shirt...dressed pretty casually.
"Mom, stop...he's just a friend." she declares.
"Can I have him then?"
Stomach...couldn't be in a tighter knot...
"Mom!" she shouts, embarrassed.
Twilight looks to see if you're embarrassed as she is.
You're taken off-guard by Velvet's beauty...but you keep your reaction contained.
Keep it cool.
"Anon, I'm sorry..."
"Nothing to be sorry for."
"See, honey? He's not all stingy and shy like the last one!"
"Mom..." she groans.
She folds her arms, "So what did you come by for, Anon?"
"Oh. Well, I was here to see Twilight's library...bedroom. Or whatever you call it."
"You want in my daughter's bedroom already? I have to say, Anon, thats quite straight-forward of you!"
Twilight's looking off to side, face red with embarrassment.
You laugh at her comment and show no signs of discomfort. Her humor is actually rather refreshing.
"Wow. Not even stuttering out formalities. You know, you got a keeper here, Twilight."
Twilight sighs and faces forward. "Mom, can I please just have a friend over without you trying to embarrass me?"
Her Mom snickers. "I'm sorry, Twilight. I didn't mean to upset you."
She looks to you. "You're not upset, are you, Anon?"
You decide to play it neutral. "I...don't mind it either way."
"Well come on in, Anon...Would you like something?"
You shake your head as you and Twilight walk inside. "No thanks."
Twilight is silent as she walks beside you into the house.
The house itself is pretty spacious, well-furnished, hard-wood flooring...really nice place.
"We'll be up in my room, Mom."
"Okay, dear. Don't be too rough with him!"
Twilight growls.
You can't help but snicker.
"You don't actually think thats funny, do you?!" she shouts at you.
You throw your hands up in front of you. "What can I say? She's funny."
Her moms out of earshot now as you head up the stairs.
"I'm REALLY sorry about that, Anon. Anytime I have friends over she does that...even with girls. Not in the same way, though. Guys are just a lot more easier targets...for obvious reasons."
"You don't need to apologize. You were right, she's really nice."
She sighs and says, "She is...but I didn't exactly know she would go that for considering last time."
"Last time?"
She sighs as she walks up to what you assume to be her bedroom door. "Yeah, I brought a guy who I was dating over awhile back and she made him SO uncomfortable that he didn't want to come back...."
"He said he didn't want to come back?"
"Well...no, but I could just tell."
You try to prod a bit. "So what happened with him?"
Sighing she opens her door, "Didn't work out." She steps inside, you following her.
You can only think of one word as you walk into her room.
BOOKS!
Holy fuck. She wasn't lying. She's got books on EVERY wall.
"This is..."
"Amazing, right?" she says, her smile restored.
"Thats putting it lightly."
"I only keep my favorites too. Its like a filtered down library of books that I personally enjoy."
"You read....ALL of this?!"
She nods, "Yup!"
Damn. And you thought you read a lot.
She rushes over to a particular shelf and drags her finger across the side covers. "Where are they..." she mumbles to herself. "Ah!" She picks up two books off the shelf and rushes over to show you them.
"These are written by the same author is the book you're reading now. I was going to give them to you later, but if you're here now...I might as well."
You take the books and examine them. Well...it can't hurt. You've definitely got a lot of reading to do. "And you said I enjoy reading almost as much as you? I don't think I even come close."
"What makes you say that?" she asks, tilting her head.
"You have your own library....."
"Someone doesn't have to have their own library to love books as much as I do." She looks around at her collection.
"This is just somewhat of a hobby of mine."
"How do you afford all this?"
She looks back at you.
"Do you have a job?"
She shakes her head. "No. My dad pays for most of it."
"Oh. Is he at work right now?"
She giggles, "Probably, but you won't be seeing him."
"Oh. Why not?"
"He lives far away from here. He and my Mom split up awhile ago..."
"And he pays for all of this?"
"Mhm. I only get to see him three or four times a year. I'd rather see him more than have all this, to be honest."
You can't help but feel bad for her. "So he just...pays for your place? Including your Mom?"
"Yeah. Weird isn't it?"
You nod. "Yeah, it is..."
"If he doesn't love my Mom anymore, he certainly still cares about her...and me and my brother."
Ah, shit.
"You have a brother?"
"Yeah. His names Shining Armor."
"Ah, the football jo-" You stop yourself.
"What?"
"The footbal player. Right."
Her brother is all kinds of full of himself. One of the biggest names on the football team. You don't hate him or anything, but his boastful attitude off-puts you quite a bit.
"Oh, you know him?"
"Barely. I've heard about him though."
"Yeah. He's great at football. Probably off practicing right now."
"Does he live with you guys?"
"Yup!"
Ah shit. You try to shift focus off your question.
"So does her read books?"
She snickers and laughs at your question. "You couldn't get him to read a book if you tried! Even if its about football." she says through her giggling.
"Yeah, I guess he doesn't really come off as a book person."
She begins walking past each shelf, admiring her collection. "So, what do you think?"
"Its really impressive." you say, standing in the middle of her room, taking in the sight.
The room is pretty spacious on its own, but with the shelves it feels a bit cramped in.
"So your Mom and Dad aren't together at all anymore?" you ask.
She shakes her head. "Nope. Not at all. My dad is getting remarried soon."
"Ah."
"Moms tried dating again, but she wasn't had so much luck with it. A lot of guys are in it for the wrong reason, she thinks."
She's single? Oh my fuck. Whoa, Anon, calm down. Jesus.
She sees that you're conflicted. "Anon?"
"Oh, yes?"
"You alright?"
"Yeah...I'm fine."
She approaches you and smiles. "Anon, if you want to borrow any of my books all you need to do is ask."
"Thanks, I think I got plenty to read here for the next few weeks, though."
She giggles, "Yeah. Sorry. Did I give you too much."
"Nah, Nah, this is fine. It will get me started. We can talk about the books after I'm done reading them too."
"Discussing stories is one of my favorite things to do. Its always nice hearing someone else's view on something."
You nod. You both fall silent. You think about your new friendship with Twilight....but your thoughts drift elsewhere
Theres a knock at Twilight's door.
"Come in!"
Its Velvet again.
You try to act disinterested and start flipping through the pages of your book.
"Twilight, your friend Lyra is here to borrow one of your books."
"Okay, Mom. Thanks." She runs to grab the book. She really does run a library in her room.
"I'll be right back, Anon!" she says.
She runs quickly out of the room to go meet her friend...leaving you and Velvet alone.
"She seems to really like you, Anon." Velvet says.
You can't help but smile. "Yeah, well, we have common interests."
"That's so rare for her though. I'm happy for her. She doesn't meet many people are into reading, books and writing as much as her. I hope she doesn't get too clingy..."
"No, she's not clingy. I think her positive attitude is really refreshing. She's pretty confident in herself too."
"Do you like her?"
"W-What? Heh, no, its not like that."
"Aww, come on, you should give her a chance! I think you two are a good match."
"Well, we kind of just started talking yesterday, so..."
"Ah. Well maybe you'll feel differently as time passes."
You shrug. "Maybe."
"Well...if you got someone else, don't let her get too attached. I'd hate to see her get hurt."
"We just met."
"Yeah, but you don't know her like I do. She grows close quickly to people who have similar interests...like anybody, really. I'm glad you're her friend though. You seem like a nice young man."
"Heh...thanks."
Twilight walks back into the room. Velvet phases out of her serious mode as Twilight comes back.
Twilight notices that you two were talking about something other than just small talk, the air in the room the way it is. "You guys talking?" she asks.
Velvet blurts out, "Yes, I told him to be gentle when he breaks your hymen."
"MOM!" she shouts.
You and Velvet both burst out laughing. Holy shit, this is gold.
"Mom, you're being a nuisance! Please just leave!" she says embarrassed.
"Okay, honey. Nice talking to you, Anon!"
You wave, a smile on your face. She shuts the door behind her.
"Did you guys REALLY talk about that?!"
You laugh again. "No, not at all..." you say, laughing a little bit.
She sighs exasperatedly. "I hate how she does that."
"Well, you shouldn't, she's just playing around."
"Yeah, but its even worse around boys. I can tolerate it around my friends."
"So what WERE you guys talking about?"
"Why do you ask?"
"I don't know, it just seemed like you guys were talking about something uncomfortable."
You shake your head."Nah, it was just small talk. Must be in your head."
She gives a suspicious look, then shrugs.
Sighing with relief you look down at your books. "Well. I've got a lot to read."
She takes that as you making your move to leave. "What? You're leaving so soon?"
Oh boy. Maybe she is getting clingy. "Well, I figured I'd get started on reading."
"Okay. Let me know what you think of them!"
“I will.”
She leads you through the house and to the front door. "I'm glad you could come over, Anon." Twilight says as you open her front door.
You turn to her and nod. "Yeah, I am too." you say smiling.
She smiles wide.
"Oh stop flirting and kiss already!" Her mom yells from the kitchen
You just look at each other as she says it. Her face grows red. "Uh."
"Well, you heard her. Want to kiss?"
"W-What?! N-N-NO! What are you talking about!?" she stammers.
"Now THATS a man!" Velvet says, coming around the corner. "Are you just going to deny him when he asked you like that?" Velvet continues, walking up to the both of you.
"Mom! We just met! I couldn't!"
Velvet folds her arms and looks at her daughter sternly. "Twilight, you have to take more initiative! If you let little things like that get in the way of making out with a boy then you'll never get any!"
"LITTLE?! I've known him for a DAY!"
You're smiling like an idiot as you watch this play out.
Velvet sighs and says, "Where did I go wrong?"
"I was raised to be a LADY, mom! Not one of those girls from High School!"
Velvet smiles. "Yeah, and I also raised you to have good taste in men. Nice to know that you changed your tune after the last guy."
"Mom, stop bringing that up."
"What? This one is much better, I must say! Anon, would you like to come back sometime?"
You shrug and nod. "Yeah, why not?"
"See? He's not scared of me! You don't have to be so embarrassed."
Twilight sighs and looks to you. "I'll see you at school on Monday."
"What, no kiss?" Her face gets even more red after your comment.
Her mouth is agape, and she just stares at you, leaking backwards a little bit. You keep your eyes on Twilight, but you can hear snickering from Velvet.
She looks down the floor, gritting her teeth."Ugh, FINE!" She grabs your wrist and pulls you down to her face level. She pecks you on the lips.
You.... You weren't even serious.
And she just did it. You stand up straight and stare forward. Your face is on fire.
Velvet's snickering is getting louder. "T-Twilight?" she says, trying to hold in laughter?
"What, Mom?!" she blurts out.
"We...Were joking."
Her face goes white.
"B-But you were pressuring me!" She turns to look at you. "Anon! I'm so sorry, I thought you guys were being serious and..."
She looks at your face. "Anon?"
Fuck, respond! "I...Uhh...Yeah I just uhh I don't...."
She's your first kiss. Velvet is laughing at your inability to speak basic English.
"Oh my, this is too cute..." she says, giggling.
"I...I think I should go..."
With her face probably just about as red as yours, she replies, "Yeah...probably..."
"Uhh, it was really nice meeting you, Velvet...I'll see you at school, Twilight."
"Come and see me again, Anon!" Velvet calls, still laughing a little.
"Bye, Anon..." Twilight murmurs.
You wave and close the door behind you.
