Twilight Sparkle Can't Sleep

They say that behind every great mare is a great stallion. I'm here to tell you that isn't true, because Twilight Sparkle is a very great mare, and I am definitely not a stallion. I mean, I'm a guy, but I'm not a horse. I'm a dragon. That should be pretty obvious. Strictly speaking, I'm not behind Twilight either. I was below her, which was how I could tell was pacing: the "Thump thump thump!" coming from the ceiling. But now I'm more... well, I'm walking toward her room, let's just keep it simple.

I knock gently on her door, which is a little hard to pull off given how this growth spurt's starting to throw my proportions out of whack. But I manage not to leave a dent, and call softly, as to not wake the few (and by few, I mean five) guards who live here. Or maybe, since none of them are actually in this part of the castle, I really just want to be quiet and nonthreatening. "Twilight, you awake?"

The rhythmic thumping stops, and a silence punctures the air. A "Clip clop clip clop" resumes, and soon she opens the door to let me in.

"Hey, Spike," she yawns, trying and failing desperately to play it cool. "What's got you up?"

I roll my eyes. "Have you seen any elephants around you're room?" I ask, but what normally would lend her a smile instead makes her bite her lip.

"I know, I know, I'm sorry! I'm just... it's just."

"You can't sleep because you're getting married tomorrow?"

The matter exposed, her charade collapses. "Yeah... I can't sleep."

"Well," I ask hopefully, "Can I come in?"

"That'd be nice, Spike. Though technically, the wedding is today. Like, in--" a glance out the window..."
