The Lover and The Moon

I didn't know what time it was, it felt like hours since the incident with the two punks. I felt myself in a dark void falling deeper and deeper as I stare at a bright light. I reached my hand out hopping someone would grab it and drag me out of the void. but minutes past and I still was falling. Am I going to die, am I going to leave this world before I even tell Luna I love her. I close my eye and waited for my end to come. Then a bright flash of light blinded me and I woke up from my horrible nightmare. I looked around and I found myself in the nurse's office. "where am I?"

"Oh, good, your awake. your in the nurse's office. you fell unconscious in the lunch room."

"what time is It?" I asked as I looked around for a clock.

"it's 3:20, school's already over. everyone left, but this young lady brought you in and stayed with you. the principal allowed her to miss her class. To see if you were ok." she pulled the curtain back and behind it was princess Luna. "If you can miss Amber, could you please take him with you when he feels better. I will leave you two in this room, just make sure you lock the door when you leave."

Luna turn to the nurse. "I will." when the nurse left the room. Luna changed back into her normal form and sat next to me. "are you ok?"

"yeah, I think I'm fine." I said to her as I got up. rubbed my head as I felt it in pain. "I can't believe the principal let you miss your classes just to see I was ok."

"yeah. to him, he told me that you were like a son to him." I smiled when I heard that. It felt nice that the principal felt that that way about me. "so, what was that, that reaction back at the lunch room."

I lowered my head when Luna asked me that. "a old me, one that I thought I would never use again." I placed my hands on my face and started to feel the pain of those I hurt. "Back when Damien and I were younger, we had amazing times.  Like all young children, we played, we laughed, and we had fun. One day, new kids showed up, we greeted them, and they decided to pick on Damien. Called him names, pushed him around, until finally they decided to pull a prank on him. They had with them mud and water, Damien walked outside the door and they threw the water and mud at him. He was dirty and wet for the rest of the school day, something broke that day, my eye filled with the flames of rage. I hands were clenched so tight they were turning red, and then I punched one of them. One of them tried to punch me, but I dodge it and punched him. every punch I landed on them, my rage grew like a forest fire. I though I was never going to stop, then, Damien grabbed my shoulders and shook me out of my blind rage. When I got control of my self, I saw what I did to the those kids." I looked up and I saw Luna covering her mouth with her hooves. "every time I think about that time, the pain returns, the pain of those I hurt. the ones that feared me. I just wanted to protect me friend." My hand clenched into a fist and I slammed it on the wall. "I was only trying to protect him!" My rage was calmed by Luna, she was hugging me and rubbing the back of  my head.

"Kyle, it's ok, you were only protecting him, just like you were protecting me. it's not your fault." Luna changed back into her human form and held her hand in front of me. "let's go home." I took her hand and the both of us walked out the nurses room and headed to the front of the school. I finally know why the moon has sent Luna to me, it wanted me to feel love again, something I never felt for a long time.
